I feel like people like to forget the legion is intensely homophobic. Yeah they have a lot of gay men, but they still are really against gay people. In a lot of the queer stories you hear about the legion it is paired with that intense homophobia.

When you flirt with Major Knight he’s immediately like “hey people don’t really like that out here, maybe on the strip it would be more comfortable, but I don’t want to be put in danger. By the way don’t be that way around the legion, they’ll probably kill you. The NCR is more chill but still, watch out.”

Reading into the homosexuality of the legion is fun, but it’s not rampant or constant even if there is a lot of it. It’s definitely happening behind closed doors, you hear it from that one prostitute (I am so sorry I forgot his name) how the legionnaire got paranoid about the situation and decided to cut it before he got caught. I genuinely think most legionnaires would be too paranoid or worried to actually engage in it, while also having pretty damn bad internalized homophobia. They’re probably less “I need to fuck Jerry from that other decanus’ group, I’m going to send him a note” and more “how do I get myself into a situation where I can do what I want without getting caught and without any loose ends.” Relieving frustrations onto slaves or victims of the legion in secret is definitely way more common than two legionnaires getting together in secret. Also I don’t know if you noticed this, but most legion locations are not exactly ideal for any kind of secrecy.

If Ceaser got caught doing some gay shit he would probably be put to fucking death by his men.

the thing is that the fallout show is superficially good. like, visually? i liked it a lot. the characters were fun. the vibes were there. i was entertained by all eight episodes. but if i think about it for more than a minute, i see it's a hollow adaptation with a poor understanding of the main themes of the whole series. is it a good show? sure, yeah! but is it a good fallout show? well....
