Gonna watch the first few eps of FMAB tomorrow but I felt like making a post about my Conqueror of Shamballa experience, spoilers ahead:

I like the animation from the Gluttony fight, it’s bad to look at but it’s very high quality bad to look at

Multiple times someone falls from a great height and is completely unscathed, leading me and @maxonerous to start joking that “they turned off fall damage for this movie”

Action movie where people transform into interesting creatures called ‘Avatars’ in order to carry out military operations. The movie is filled with shooting, action and adventure and could be considered exciting if you’re into that type of thing. 

The action is not bad and the back and forth between the two opposing factions in the film feels competitive enough to make the movie somewhat compelling. 

The negatives are the characters feel ordinary and bland and we are not really given any reason to connect with them in a strong way. The movie doesn’t stand out as being exceptional as you could see the same innovative action in most run of the mil action films. So all in all even though ‘Avatar’ is not bad it is not exceptional either.

It’s funny how the thieves in Home Alone 3 are set up as an international group of criminals, presumably pretty skilled ones given the job a fact later confirmed by them being known to the FBI and hunted for a while, but half of the movie is them being hilariously foiled by a sick 8 year old. Love it.
