Random Xiaolin Showdown Headcanons: Video Games Edition

Kimiko is merciless in 1st-person shooter styles. And she's even more merciless at online trash talk. The first time the gang watches her actually play online (at an internet cafe), Raimundo has to cover Omi's ears after a few minutes.

Raimundo and Kimiko 2-v-2 (or any number, really) are basically unbeatable in all fighting and shooting games. Impeccable teamwork combined with individual skills and actual battle tactics (no that's not cheating Clay. It's using your resources wisely 😝). Their favorite is to play Smash Bros online with the weakest & weirdest character combos and still absolutely wash their opponents.

The other kids thought giving Omi Nintendogs was a good idea... until he tried to stay up playing for 36 hours straight because "he didn't want his new virtual pets to miss him too much".

They've also learned the hard way that Omi gets easily attached to his game avatars, so they no longer let him play any games where his character might "die" (no matter how many extra lives they might have).

Raimundo once pranked Omi by telling him beating pong would be one of the highest video game achievements ever mastered, and would only be possible for someone with exceptional discipline and focus. 12 hours of pong later Master Fung scolded him for allowing Omi to waste so much electricity.

Dojo is a big fan of mobile style cooking/restaurant games like Cooking Mama. It's mostly the aesthetics that drew him in, but he also likes the calm vibes and the feeling of being a homemaker while not actually having to, you know, move around and cook for people. He can get kinda stressed in the restaurant games when customer orders start backing up and the character design start getting angry though.

Clay is unbeatable at Tetris. No one understands why he's so good. (Tetris is universal. Tetris is eternal. Tetris is, most importantly, widely available. Clay first discovered it on his family's NES, and it's just what he always goes back to in arcades or on consoles because it's always an option, so really it's just because he's played a lot of Tetris.)

Raimundo went through a big Pokémon phase. (He's still a big Pokémon fan but he tries to keep it low-key) He prefers the main RPG games, and hopes his siblings still haven't found his secret stash of favorite cards that he hid before he left.

Raimundo loves Civilization but that's a game for nerds so no one's allowed to know. It also runs better on a full desktop, so he hasn't actually been able to play since leaving Brazil. He really misses it. (He always goes for a culture or science win but is not afraid of a military win if someone tries to start something 😤). (okay, one time he did create a set up of a bunch of European countries for a culture and military take over. See how they like being colonized 😏)

Quasarblast then breaks down crying because he now realize Vil-Gil-An-T is grave danger now while Dr. Weatherstone comes over with a blanket.

Quasarblast pushes as he cries in agony.

Quasarblast breaks down crying.

Quasarblast keeps pushing as he cries in agony. Mighton gasps.

Korvo/Quasarblast: GOD! IT HURTS! IT FUCKING HURTS!!!

Dr. Weatherstone/Blizzard: You can do this Quasarblast! You’re almost there!

Then, a baby crying is heard.

Terry/Mighton: Holy shit. Is that what I think it is?

Janiz/Ms. Quasar: gasp in tears of joy It is…

Dr. Weatherstone/Blizzard: It’s a girl!

A baby Shlorpian and new Solar Opposites is born. A baby Shlorpian girl. Blizzard wraps the infant in the blanket as she hands it over to the two superhero alien husbands.

Korvo/Quasarblast: Oh my God…I did it…

The baby continues crying as Quasarblast shed tears of joy and starts soothing his newborn sproutling.

Korvo/Quasarblast: Sssh. Sssh. It’s okay. I’m your daddy.

The baby then calms down as she starts cooing and opens her eyes and sees her daddies for the first time.

Terry/Mighton: Hey, kiddo.

Korvo/Quasarblast: Hi Lili… it’s nice to meet you…

Terry/Mighton: Lili? Why that name?

Quasarblast smiles.

Korvo/Quasarblast: Because… she’s looks like a beautiful lily that has sprouted with hope.

Mighton smiles with tears in his eyes.

Terry/Mighton: Lili… what a beautiful name… notices Quasarblast crying because he is still worry about Vil-Gil-An-T Oh honey… why are you crying now…

Korvo/Quasarblast: Because…because…Yumyulack’s in danger. We have to help him…

Mighton puts a comforting hand on Quasarblast’s shoulder while Lili coos and falls asleep.

Terry/Mighton: Don’t worry. We’re gonna find him. I promise.

Quasarblast smiles and looks down at Lili. Quasarblast then weeps as he looks down at Lili, because it reminded him of holding Yumyulack as an infant for the first time. A flashback then plays of Korvo holding baby Yumyulack.

Baby Yumyulack: cooing

Past Korvo: Hey there.

Baby Yumyulack coos as he touches Korvo’s face.

Past Korvo: Oh. Aren’t you the sweetest little sprout, Yumyulack?

The flashback ends as Mighton wipes away his hubby’s tears.

Terry/Mighton: You really want to save him, huh?

Quasarblast weeps as he gently cradles Lili.

Korvo/Quasarblast: More than anything…

Lili coos which made Quasarblast smile in tears. Starburst then gets out a newborn sproutling hangar carrier and Quasarblast puts it on his stripper and gently puts Lili in there who babbles in her sleep. Mighton smiles.

We randomly watched Gorgeous with Jackie Chan and Shu Qi, the super adorbs and luvly wife of my crush, Stephen Fung, who portrayed Hwoarang's variant, Iron Surfer, in The Avenging Fist; Hwoarang/Iron of whom we associate with our homemade character, Steven, from MQ, originally inspired by Android 17. Two Stevens! 😝

We reached the end of S3 of Attack on Titan. Rob @timewillcrawl94 used to watch it before us. Me and Micky @octobernocturne are now addicted to AoT with Robi.

大家好! After sharing this photo of long xia yi mian (lobster ee fu noodles) with the long xia halved instead of chopped up in pieces, I was asked where the restaurant is and Lingy also requested to be taken here next time she visits. Pa devoured up the dan ta (egg tarts) before I could snap a pic so there isn't a photo of them. For dessert, we ate black sesame balls which weren't very sweet and had a strong sesame taste with unsweetened chrysanthemum tea. That was how we remembered Grandma on what would've been her birthday.

I'd scheduled a dental appointment on the final day of block leave. After that was done, I had a craving for xiao long bao (pork broth dumplings) and sashimi so I had both! After devouring the juicy xiao long bao, I used the washroom before going to the local supermarket cum food hall in a nearby mall for my fresh fish fix. Besides being bright, airy and clean, the washroom had plants in it. Finally, with my belly nice and full, I hopped on the bus and caught up with Grace and Douglas (didn't lose my way this time, but fumbled at the bus stop haha).

Now that my block leave has ended, it's back to sticking to a budget. I was called back to the office on Monday because there were too few people and it was freezing cold. After sneezing my head off all morning even whilst wearing a thick jacket and having another covering my legs, there was only 1 way to warm up: ma la tang. Devouring the least spicy xiao xiao la soup option with Chinese cabbage, green capsicum, hairy gourd, brinjal as well as fish and chicken kept me warm enough the rest of the work day and I shed the thick jacket. I might eat more of these until the weather turns warm.

Emails exploded during my block leave and I've spent the week clearing as many as as I could. I was on leave again on Thursday because I have to clear what remaining leave I had and I spent it on exercise, relaxing and food videos. I had such a hard time deciding which of the 2 food videos to share that I gave up, so here are both! Mike Chen is spot on about Pu Tien; I've been there and it is as good as he described it. The same goes for his visit to 老巴杀 Lao Ba Sha or Lau Pa Sat for the satay; if you want the real deal when it comes to the food here, watch him.

It's the first time I've watched the Fung Bros and they're great! Slurping makes noodles taste better somehow and they do that, which makes them relatable to those of us in other parts of the world. The food at Urban Hawker in NYC looks legit and I loved the shout out to the late and great former PM LKY which tugged at my heartstrings. Today the office has the afternoon off so I'm off to catch up with Grace and Douglas after lunch. 下次见!

Phoebe/Starburst: You okay Pupa?

Mighty Pupa lets out a roar of rage.

Pupa/Mighty Pupa: growling

Yumyuyulack/Vil-Gil-An-T: Aw man this doesn’t look good! Is that what’s gonna be like when Jesse and I turn into our own monster forms for the first time one day?

Mighty Pupa starts glowing.

Terry/Mighton: Pupa?

Jesse/Fung-irl: Yeesh. Hope that doesn’t happen when Yumyulack and I become our own monster selves one day.

Yumyulack/Vil-Gil-An-T: Hopefully!

Sonya/Nighthowler: Um, why is Pupa glowing?

Mighty Pupa then starts growing as he turns red. Mighton gasps.

Jesse/Fung-irl: Holy shit! Pupa’s red!

Yumyulack/Vil-Gil-An-T: More like red with anger!

Quasarblast sighs.

Suddenly Mighty Pupa roars again.

Korvo/Quasarblast: What the fuck?! Why is he roaring?!

The Pupa, now a Mega Pupa, growls at the Mighty Solars. He then grows sharp teeth and develops spikes from his back as he roars. His eyes even glow red as he growls.

Terry/Mighton: Oh no! Pupa!

Quasarblast starts sobbing.

Nova/Heartstar: Oh Korvo…

Korvo/Quasarblast: This is my fault. I knew about it but-

Mega Pupa roars. Then, Ms. Quasar came.

Janiz/Ms. Quasar: Korvo! I’m here!

Terry/Mighton: Janiz?!

Korvo/Quasarblast: Sis! You came and you are wearing the suit that looks exactly like mine but girlier.

Janiz/Ms. Quasar: The name’s Ms. Quasar!

Ms. Quasar does her own superhero pose then looks at Mega Pupa, who just gotten monstrously muscular.

Sonya/Nighthowler: Auntie Janiz! Help! Mighty Pupa has turn into a giant monster!

Janiz/Ms. Quasar: I got this!

Ms. Quasar changes color into red and scans Mega Mighty Pupa. She then grows amazed by the results and decided to her family.

Janiz/Ms. Quasar: Guys! Pupa is really half Mega Pupa!

The Mighty Solars gasp. Fung-irl faints..

Stacy G/Spikerella: Baby bears! helps Fung-irl What does that mean?

Janiz/Ms. Quasar: It means he can turn into a giant Pupa at will. But his temper is also the cause of his transformation.

Terry/Mighton: Wow! That scientist guy really did enraged him he try to experiment on us!

Janiz/Ms. Quasar: Yep.

Korvo/Quasarblast: FUCK!!! punches a wall with angry tears in his eyes

Janiz/Ms. Quasar: Whoa! Easy bro!

Quasarblast feels an intense headache as his fingertips turn black.

Miss Frankie/Night Saw: Whoa! He’s transforming into his Super Shlorpian self again!

Korvo/Quasarblast: Fuck! Here we go AGAAAAAAAIIIIIIIINNNNNNNN!

Quasarblast grows bigger and muscular as his suit rips then his wings pop out from his back and then his horns appear on his head while his eyes glow aquamarine. Super Shlorpian Quasarblast then roars. Mighton blushes and grows smitten.

Terry/Mighton: Damn Korvy, you look more buff and thicc as ever

Super Shlorpian Quasarblast chuckles seductively

Super Shlorpian Korvo/Quasarblast: Not as hot as your Mundane form you big horny handsome hunk.

Mega Mighty Pupa roars again, which caught Super Shlorpian Quasarblast’s attention.

Super Shlorpian Korvo/Quasarblast: I got this!

Mighty Solars: You do?!

Super Shlorpian Korvo/Quasarblast: Just watch me!

Super Shlorpian Quasarblast then flies up to Mega Mighty Pupa, who growls at him.

Mega Pupa/Mighty Pupa: roars

Super Shlorpian Quasarblast then starts soothing Mega Mighty Pupa’s face as he calms down his baby.

Mega Pupa/Mighty Pupa: P-Papa?

Super Shlorpian Korvo/Quasarblast: Shh… it’s okay Pupa… daddy’s here… shh…

Mega Mighty Pupa starts crying as tears fall down his eyes. Super Shlorpian Quasarblast gasp and continues soothing and consoling precious baby. Mighton starts bawling. Then, he hugs Mega Mighty Pupa. The super siblings then hug their baby brother as they console him.

Sonya/Nighthowler: Oh don’t cry Pupa. We’re here for you.

Jesse/Fung-irl: We’re here for you, Pupa.

Yumyulack/Vil-Gil-An-T: It’s gonna be okay.
