Romy Discord FanFic Rec List
In honor of Rogue/Gambit Week, some of the writers from the Romy Discord wanted to share some fics that we’ve written.
With so much Romy love to share, we hope y’all find a new favorite or rediscover an old one.
💚💖 Thanks for reading! 💖💚
Takes Two To Tango (or take down a Wild Sentinel) @aldreantreuperi by AldreanTreuPeri [ao3]
Rating: M | Universe: XtAS’97 | Words: 1,521 | Chapters: 1 | Status: Oneshot
Summary: A battle is as much a dance as anything achieved on a dance floor…and having the proper partner can literally keep you alive… Episode 5 fix-it fic.
But Here We Are by AppleJ @applejacks1552 [ao3]
Rating: M | Universe: Comics | Words: 32,978 | Chapters: 30 | Status: Complete
Summary: They never thought this would be possible, but Rogue is uneXpectedly eXpecting. Yet nothing is ever THAT simple in the life of an X-Man. What secret will Gambit discover that complicates their happily-ever-after?
AppleJ says: Hmmmm ... why I wrote that fic in particular: First, because I wanted to make the fan theory that the twins (Maxime & Manon) were Romy kiddos real. Second, because I KNOW it will be a cold day in hell before Marvel ever gives Romy kids in the main 616 (like maybe long after I'm dead & they're out of storylines & they've already split/reunited them 5 times over?), so it seemed like fertile ground (pun intended). And third, because they say to write what you know & I wanted a pregnancy/birth story that reflected the reality that it isn't all sunshine & rainbows & certainty for many of us & that's okay too.
Mighty Thin Ice by Cajun_Hawk @cajunhawk [ao3] [ff.net]
Rating: E | Universe: Comics | Words: 138,942 | Chapters: 11 | Status: WIP
Summary: Rogue is working hard to get her powers under control while she and Gambit have decided to take their relationship to the next level, in hopes of having something normal very soon.
The Legacy of Dark Cerebro by Chellerbelle @chellerbelles [ao3] [ff.net]
Rating: T | Universe: Movies | Words: 45,064 | Chapters: 12 | Status: Complete
Summary: What if X2 had ended differently? What if the X-Men hadn’t gotten to Professor Xavier in time and all the humans had died? Takes place 5 years after this alternate ending (exception of the prologue).
Chelle says: After much indecision, I decided on The Legacy of Dark Cerebro. The opening scene had a special place in my heart, and New Sun vs Phoenix was on my fanfic bucket list for a long time. 🙂Also, this story seems a bit more “new reader” friendly than some of my other favourites, haha.
Risk and Reward by DayenuRose @dayenurose [ao3] [ff.net]
Rating: T | Universe: Comics | Words: 47,518 | Chapters: 13 | Status: Complete
Summary: There’s an old adage that goes, the greater the risk, the greater the reward. As a thief, Remy LeBeau know full well that oftentimes the greatest risks come with the greatest rewards. When he starts to fall for the enigmatic Rogue, Remy must decide if the risks are worth the possible reward.
Rose says: This was one of the first Romy fics I’ve written. It was a real entry into Romy fandom for me. Everyone was so welcoming and kind in the comments. And during the process of writing this, it helped me come to a better understand of Gambit, Rogue, and their relationship. 💜
LeBeau’s Eleven by Ilargikat @ilargikat [ao3]
Rating: G | Universe: Comics | Words: 14,182 | Chapters: 6 | Status: WIP
Summary: Planning a heist is not easy, especially when you need special skills to pull it off. The luck of being an X-Men is that the skills are within reach, maybe not people willing to commit a heist.
Once. Now. Before. Always. by lovethelebeaux @lovethelebeaux [ao3]
Rating: M | Universe: Comics | Words: 10,179 | Chapters: 4 | Status: Complete
Summary: Four vignettes from four different time periods over the course of Rogue and Gambit’s relationship.
Lovethelebeax says: Heehee I've only written like four things so this will be easier for me than most 😅 it's this one, my first in 20 years
The Tailor & The Seamstress by Ludi_Ling @ludi-ling [ao3] [ff.net]
Rating: M | Universe: X-Men |Words: 58,659 | Chapters: 13 | Status: Complete
Summary: Remy LeBeau is the creative lead at a waning fashion house in 1910 New York. Over the street is his employer’s rival, where a pretty and talented seamstress happens to work. Romance ensues, of course - in-between a friendly rivalry, that is.
Ludi says: It was a tough call on which fic to choose, but I settled on this one because the last fic I write is always the one I'm most proud of, and this is the last one I completed! Last summer @narwhallove challenged me to write a Romy fic that played on my love of both them and of historical fashion. She threw some ideas at me, and I wrote nearly an entire chapter. Then, X-Men '97 starts, and I read back on what I wrote in July '23, and suddenly the rest of the story unfolds before me. I had a blast writing it! And I hope you have fun reading it too 😉
But I Can’t Trace Time by Sandmans_Raven @sandmansraven [ao3]
Rating: T | Universe: Comics | Words: 8,998 | Chapters: 1 | Status: Oneshot
Summary: After a battle with the time-traveling mutant-hunter known as Ahab, Rogue is sent into the future. To get back, she must rely on old friends and put a stop to Ahab’s plans.
Toys by Spaceorphan @spaceorphan18 [ao3]
Rating: T | Universe: Comics | Words: 1,619 | Chapters: 1 | Status: Oneshot
Summary: Romy catches Remy playing with toy action figures of the X-Men. Shenanigans. Set in the 616 verse, but some fun meta-y references to XM97.

Note
hi! re: this post, would you perhaps be willing to elaborate on how you format the reading lists you mentioned keeping in obsidian? also, do you store notes on things you read in obsidian? (< g*rl who was using obsidian for undergrad notes until relatively recently and has now graduated but still wants to use obsidian for something :sob:)
to answer yr 2nd question first — i do use obsidian to store notes on things that i read. i talk a bit abt that process here, wrt to working with my memory impairment rather than against it. in general, i just do it cuz i like it! i like rotating my little thoughts inside my mind & making my favourite concepts kiss. it’s good for the soul.
and the answer to yr first question, the formatting for my reading lists is extremely basic. it looks like:
### title of the list
[ ] Title, author (date)
[x] Title, author (date)
[ ] Title, author (date)
[ ] Author last name, First name. Title of work. Year or edition if relevant.
i use either of the two citation styles, depending on the list and usually keep it consistent throughout. the “dash, open square bracket, space, close square bracket” format is how u do checklists and checking something off with strikethrough that item on the list.
EXAMPLE: i’m interested in two books on the work of john le carré which are collections of essays, so i’ve made a list of which essays interest me the most and i’ve put them in order of most interesting first.
### John Le Carré secondary readings
[ ] Rogers, Randal. “Le Carré’s Queer Nostalgia.” Histories, Adaptations, and Legacies of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, edited by Randal Rogers. Routledge, 2023.
[ ] Rea, Ann. “‘A New Class of Domesticity’: Home, Abroad, Foreignness, and Masculinity in Len Deighton’s The Ipcress File and John le Carré’s The Spy Who Came in from the Cold.” Sexuality and Gender in Fictions of Espionage: Spying Undercover(s), edited by Ann Rea. Bloomsbury, 2024.
[ ] Barnwell, Jane. “Searching for a Lost Home in the Labyrinth: Set Design in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.” Histories, Adaptations, and Legacies of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, edited by Randal Rogers. Routledge, 2023.
[ ] Baker, Brian. “Gramophone, Telephone, Radio, Spy: Mediation and Espionage.” Histories, Adaptations, and Legacies of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, edited by Randal Rogers. Routledge, 2023.
[ ] Lohneis, Paul. “Darling Men, Lover Boys, and Rogues: Connie Sachs, Molly Doran, and the Precarity of Institutional Memory in John le Carré’s Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy and Mick Herron’s Dead Lions.”
[ ] White, Rosie. “A Queer Thing: The Older Woman Spy.” Sexuality and Gender in Fictions of Espionage: Spying Undercover(s), edited by Ann Rea. Bloomsbury, 2024.
[ ] D’Arcy, Geraint. ”Essentially, Another Man’s Woman: Information and Gender across Adaptations of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.” Histories, Adaptations, and Legacies of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, edited by Randal Rogers. Routledge, 2023.
[ ] Hindersmann, Jost. “The Days Before Empire Became a Dirty Word: Decline, Nostalgia, and Betrayal in John le Carré’s Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.” Histories, Adaptations, and Legacies of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, edited by Randal Rogers. Routledge, 2023.
hope that makes sense? if not/if you have other questions feel free to shoot me another ask bc i love talking abt my notes & what i’m reading/watching/thinking abt. cheers & happy new year 🥂

Seriously, El Toro de Piadro (or however it is spelled) had way too much (and way too little) going on at the same time. Like... lets list all the subplots in this cluttered mess of an episode:
A-plot: Ivan struggles to speak out against his father and learns how to speak up to Raoul, and not to become his father.
B-plot: Raoul's struggle with legacy and learning not to be like his own father (who he implies made him who he is today)
C-Plot: Kitty Section is trying to prepare for a show to honour Major Bustier, but technical difficulties are keeping Luka out of the show
D-Plot: Juleka is insecure about her singing voice and ability to play an accoustic non-base guitar
E-Plot: Adrien cant figure out what to do with all the boxes of his old stuff from before the renovation. And cant figure out how to feel about his dad
F-Plot: Ivan feels unworthy of his superhero status and has the worlds shortest retirement (Beating out the previous record set 3 episodes ago, by Sabrina.)
G-Plot: Marinette and Nathalie find a letter from Gabriel instructing his son to become the next Hawkmoth, Can we really trust adrien not to fall in his fathers footsteps.
H-Plot: Ivan needs to learn to find support in his friends rather then bottle his struggles up inside
I-Plot: Juleka and Rose have their first kiss.
J-plot: Mylene struggles to get Ivan to open up about his troubles. She worries and wants to help but doesnt know how to.
K-plot: Lila continues her ominous stalking and wants the miraculous as usual (normally i wouldn't count it, but given that they put a lot more work into the akumatisation scene then usual, and included two seperate Lila-stalking-in-the-shadows-moments, with the bench and the feet outside Raoul's bathroom door... Im counting it.)
L-plot: Marinette and Nathalie try to figure out wether or not to tell Adrien about his dad. (Also: the writers try to retcon the S5 climax to make it so that Nathalie is the one insisting on the secret and Marinette is the one advocating for telling Adrien the truth)
M-plot: Nathalie has a secret meeting with the creepy shadowcouncil (can we still trust Nathalie? note: im talking about the scene where marinette first tries to show her the letter, not the end-credits scene.)
N-plot: There is something called "Operation Perfect World", You should be scared about it
O-Plot: The diamond plan to get the 'ultimate lifeform' senti's to go Adam and Eve and create a race of magically-engineered Ubermensch is still on.
P-plot: The creepy shadowcouncil exists at all, unseen antagonists lie in the shadows(and judging by the masquerade mask icon, Lila may be affiliated with it)
R-plot: Adrien slowly continues his continued decline into depression and slowly starts to buy into the gaslighting that his father truly was a good man.
S-plot: Mylene worries about Ivan going internal
T-plot: Every antagonist we've met up until now is revealed/implied to be subservient to this strange and ominous 'diamond' figure. Including Gabriel.
U-plot: The creepy shadowcouncil wants to take LB and CN's miraculous.
V-plot: Nathalie is planning to act as some kind of rogue/double-agent. Keeping the existence of the shadowcouncil a secret from Maribug while still working to run interference against the shadowcouncil.
W-plot: The implication that somehow, off-screen, Luka either quit or completed his teachings with the cult in Tibet and moved to Brazil. (note that they literally say he doesnt live in paris anymore. Not that he 'isnt in paris') X-plot: Juleka comes to terms with her father's rockstar legacy (because apparently that was a problem she was having.) Y-plot: Marinette has a gig as a Kittysection technical assistant, but supervillain strikes at the same time. Z-plot: Adrien has a gig as a member of Kittysection, but a supervillain strikes at the same time. (yes, im counting them seperately. Because unlike in Climatiqueen, they both clearly exit at different points in seperate scenes. By the time Adrien realises the supervillain is happening, Marinette is already Ladybug so this is a separate subplot) And even listing an entire alphabet's worth of subplots Im fairly certain i still missed a subplot or two. That is twenty-six subplots in a twenty-two minute episode. Like... in an episode this cluttered? It isnt even a suprise that its emotional beats all fail to land.

It's Just Like Falling Snow (I am Above You, and I Love You)
Another fic for @finishwhatyoustarted-event! This one is set just after Rogue One and is a sort of happy epilogue to the events of the film. CW for the aftermath of character death (from the dead character's PoV).
Rated G, 1.2k, on AO3 here.
~
Cassian dies.
The warm, blinding light of a planet’s destruction envelops him and he feels only a second of pain before he knows he is gone, his body vaporized and his soul left floating in the ether.
It is a relief, at first. The pain and ache and adrenaline that filled his body drain away into nothing. For a moment, he feels calmer than he has in days or even perhaps years. He can sense the force around him, feel it in a way he’s never felt it before, a way he never thought possible, and he spares a moment to think that if the Jedi felt it like this, suffusing their very beings with warmth, perhaps it is understandable that they were capable of so very much.
But as his pain fades, so does the sensation of Jyn’s arms around him. Her touch disappears into the mist of recollection and, for a moment, the ache in his soul almost surpasses the pain that had been in his body. He is alone again. There is no one. He would have thought that after all this time he’d have become used to the loss, used to the loneliness, but it would seem that he’s not the hardened criminal he pretends to be. It hurts.
Then—
It feels like an embrace, like a part of the warm force that surrounds him but more intense, more vital and filled with something that Cassian realizes, after a startled moment, is love. It feels like arms embracing him. It feels familiar, like protection from cold and the smell of metal and the well-known ringing of the anvil. It feels like—
“Maarva?” Cassian whispers, and it shouldn’t be possible because he doesn’t have lips or a tongue or lungs anymore, but something must have worked because he hears, wrapping itself around him like a blanket, a response.
“Cassian,” she says, and it feels like a hole in Cassian’s heart that had been long ignored but never filled begins to close.
Cassian can’t get choked up anymore, can’t cry, but the feeling is still there and it must have been communicated somehow because he feels the warmth around him strengthen like arms tightening their hold.
“I’m so proud of you,” says Maarva, and Cassian gasps a shuddering breath with lungs that don’t exist.
He tries to speak but fails, trailing off into a wounded sound of pure feeling.
“I am,” says Maarva. “You did it. Cassian, you did it. You found the plans. You saved people. You’re a hero, Cassian, and I couldn’t be prouder.”
“I failed so many times,” he whispers. “I did so many things I’m not proud of.”
“But you persevered,” says Maarva. “You kept going, and you triumphed, Cassian. The legacy of your victory will endure when the remnants of your failures have crumbled into dust.”
Cassian does not know how to respond to that, so he says nothing, simply letting himself exist in the vicinity of the woman he has missed for so long.
And then a familiar presence appears behind him, and Cassian knows without looking that Clem is here.
“I missed you,” Cassian whispers. He feels a sensation that resembles, more than anything, a hand on his shoulder.
“I was proud to give you my name,” Clem says, and Cassian chokes out a laugh.
“It was just a code,” he says.
“I know,” says Clem. “I’m still proud.”
Another voice chimes in, young and painfully familiar. It’s a voice he’s heard over and over again, in person and in a recording and in his memory.
“That was incredible, Cassian,” says Nemik. “Absolutely incredible. You’ve topped Aldhani. I always knew you were a revolutionary at heart.”
“You inspired me,” Cassian manages, and somehow, though none of them have bodies, he knows that Nemik is smiling.
And then, in a language that Cassian hasn’t heard spoken in years and yet that is as familiar as his own hands and his own tongue, speak two more voices.
“Kassa,” they say, and if he could, Cassian would be dropping to his knees.
“Mom? Dad?” he asks. Those words were the first he learned to say, and remembering them feels like freedom.
“Yes,” they say.
“You’re not alone,” they say. “We’re not alone.”
Suddenly, Cassian knows they’re right. He can feel his people all around him, can feel his sister, their presences as familiar as the wet forest air of his long-lost home.
“We’re proud of you, Kassa,” they are saying. “You did well. You helped us, you remembered us, you avenged us, and we’re proud of you. We love you, son of Kenari.”
If Cassian had still possessed a body, he thinks he would be crying. As it is, he simply basks in the relief of the pain and loneliness he has carried with him for so long and the joy of being, finally, in the presence of his whole family.
Your father would have been proud of you, Jyn, he had said, there on the beach with her in his arms, and with the ease of long practice he had ignored the thoughts of his own father— fathers, really, and mothers and sisters and even brothers — and yet now here they are, here beyond his wildest dreams. They are here, they love him, and they are proud.
It is more than he could have asked for. It is, quite possibly, more than he deserves. The thought does not bother him nearly as much as it might once have; he is far too happy to finally be here, among his family.
Beside him, he feels Bodhi, startled and a bit regretful yet triumphant. He feels Baze and Chirrut, hand in hand. He feels Melshi, sad but so damn proud. He even feels, beyond his wildest dreams, the presence of Kay at his side.
He feels that they have won, though he did not live to see the victory. He feels that they saved people. He feels that what they did was worth it all.
And then, suddenly, slotting in beside him like the final piece of the puzzle that was Cassian’s life, Jyn is there. She is warm in the force beside them, bright like the stardust she is named for. She is radiant. He thinks that if she could, she would be taking his hand.
“We did it,” she says quietly. She sounds far more at peace than he ever heard her in life. She sounds happy.
“We did,” says Cassian. “We really did.”
Slowly, gently, he feels an invisible force tugging him forward, towards his family and an ever-growing light. It does not feel forceful or cold as he might once have imagined it; the feeling is soft and tender, a request more than a command.
“Come with us,” say his family.
Cassian is warm. He is surrounded by more love than he has ever known.
“We will be with you,” they say. “You are not alone.”
Perhaps for the first time since he was a child, Cassian believes them wholeheartedly.
Around him, his friends — his family — are present and triumphant. Jyn’s presence is solid beside him. He tries to squeeze her hand with a body that no longer exists, and feels a sensation resembling an answering squeeze in return.
“Are you ready?” she asks.
“Yeah,” he says softly, “I am.”
And, together with his family, Cassian steps into the light.

I know G*lroy will ignore everything that has a connection with Rebels in his show 🙄 Fulcrum, the involvement of the Ghost Crew with Mon and so on…
Hot take but I hate stupid ass opinions that are like “Andor actually makes [something that happened in Rebels] sTrOnGEr”
Like no dumbass, you think G*lroy fucking watched Rebels? You think Tony would’ve even included Saw if someone from Disney didn’t point out that his little OC Luthen is just a white carbon copy? And that his solution was to have his OC patronizingly explain to Saw (the black legacy Partisan leader mind you) how to strategize with the Empire.
Having the slightest fucking mention to previous canon does not suddenly strengthen it just because you see it in live action? Andor s1 used Saw to emphasize the importance of an original character, because otherwise he would’ve been 100% fine doing more than half the things Luthen had done. Saw was part of the original Rebellion Alliance before he split, that’s literally one of the first lines of Rogue One.
“Eh but he couldn’t have access to funds or the aTiQue ShOp” bitch I do not care. Saw and Mon’s oppositional approaches were already established, and if you wanted to make anything “stronger” you would’ve just explored that conversation even further especially with 12 episodes at your expense. But god forbid women or black people be the main leaders of rebellion. Not like that’s historically realistic or anything.

In the heart of the 27th century, in the bustling prefecture-level city of Helios, stood a figure that captivated the attention of all who beheld her. Her name was Elara, a guardian from the distant reaches of the galaxy, known for her fiery red hair that cascaded like a waterfall of flames, and her striking blue eyes that glowed with an otherworldly light. Adorned in intricately designed jewelry and a flowing red dress that shimmered with every movement, she was both a warrior and a diplomat, a symbol of hope and strength.
Helios was a city renowned for its technological advancements and architectural wonders, but it was also a place of deep historical significance. Built atop the ruins of ancient civilizations, the city thrived on the blend of futuristic innovation and rich cultural heritage. The towering skyscrapers were lined with holographic advertisements and neon lights, while the streets below buzzed with a diverse populace of humans and extraterrestrials.
Elara had come to Helios on a mission of grave importance. The city was facing an unprecedented threat from a rogue faction known as the Voidwalkers, a group of technologically enhanced marauders who sought to harness the city's vast energy reserves for their own nefarious purposes. The Voidwalkers had already caused significant damage to the city's infrastructure, and their attacks were growing more frequent and devastating.
In the grand council chamber of Helios, Elara stood before the city's leaders, her presence commanding respect and attention. Her voice was calm yet firm as she laid out her plan to thwart the Voidwalkers' advances. Using her advanced knowledge of alien technology and her combat prowess, she proposed a series of coordinated strikes against the Voidwalkers' key outposts, aimed at dismantling their operations and cutting off their supply lines.
The leaders of Helios, desperate for a solution, agreed to Elara's plan. Over the next few weeks, she led a series of daring raids, her team moving with precision and efficiency. Her knowledge of both ancient tactics and advanced technology gave her an edge that the Voidwalkers had not anticipated. Each victory brought her closer to the heart of the Voidwalkers' operations, and each battle revealed more about their motives and their ultimate goal.
One evening, after a particularly fierce skirmish, Elara found herself on the outskirts of Helios, standing atop a hill that overlooked the sprawling cityscape. The sun was setting, casting a golden hue over the buildings and streets. As she gazed at the city she had come to protect, her thoughts drifted to her home planet, a place of peace and beauty that seemed so distant now.
But Elara knew that her mission was far from over. The final battle loomed on the horizon, a confrontation that would determine the fate of Helios and its people. With renewed determination, she descended the hill, her mind focused on the task ahead. She was a guardian, a warrior, and she would not rest until the city of Helios was safe from the shadow of the Voidwalkers.
In the days that followed, Elara's forces launched their final assault on the Voidwalkers' headquarters. The battle was fierce, but Elara's leadership and strategic acumen turned the tide in their favor. As the last of the Voidwalkers were subdued, Elara stood victorious, the city of Helios saved from destruction.
The citizens of Helios hailed her as a hero, their gratitude and admiration evident in their celebrations. But Elara knew that her journey was far from over. There were other cities, other worlds that needed her help. As she prepared to depart, she left behind a legacy of courage and hope, a reminder that even in the darkest of times, there is always a light that can guide the way.
Elara's story became a legend in Helios, a tale of a warrior with fiery hair and glowing blue eyes who came from the stars to save their city. And though she had moved on to new adventures, her spirit remained in Helios, a beacon of inspiration for generations to come.

And that's how Viserys' cup of patience (temporarily) overflowed for it was never bottomless ...
Tumblr media
That's - " E N O U G H, " his voice broke on the verge of smoldering thunder for anger was building in lunged diggers confined by slight grit of teeth where each syllable darted and curled not to flood out, " Otto Hightower may not be within the court, still, despite that he served two generations of monarchs with dignity and there was no bloodshed whilst he sustained. I don't feel like repeating anyone's words if they don't match opinion of my own. You're in no position to talk to me like that when I did first and last to welcome you when no one else sincerely wanted to; victory or not! " " Two mere men, so I'll tell you like one of those two mere men. You sit here, accuse me of mockery when all I am trying to do is to find a dialogue of logic where you would have space for arguments. It was enough to tell me: 'brother, I know you might not be convinced now but let me prove it to you', and hell Daemon gods above know that I wanted, ... I wanted to give you a chance to convince me, but the more I try to speak openly to you and stretch my willing hand the more you spit on it, '' his abrupt stand from the seat nearly quivered both goblets to spill, chain decoring his neck seemed to feel tighter, both hands firmly pressed against the wooden surface as he continued, '' I try to speak about people who are a part of our grandsire's legacy, but all I hear is I want, I demand, I deserve; always, /I/, /I/, /I/, never them or we; that's a child's play! And we're no children anymore, none of us can afford impetuousness. That's what I tried to achieve -- you to step out of this cocoon and mature so I could finally start trusting you. " If the Rogue thought his temerity could move or frighten someone who raised him, looked death in the eye ( the black dread), killed his own wife while staying shackled in prophecies and responsibilities he was mistaken; it was trust, always trust that seemed to be an issue. When it came to his younger brother there was no other emotion than love but unfortunately, today he chose the worst way how to approach his elder blood. Again, again he tried to restore whatever was lost between them only for Daemon to throw it to the garbage, he was tired, tired, and disappointed. His walk retreated to the window where he remained gazing out and exhaling as if releasing whatever threatened to come out ( a cough ); only for floral breeze to take it away through stoned gap. Side-glance landing at the map, a nod followed with a smile ever faint, '' Yes, father would want us to unite, I only pray it will happen one day. ''
When was the last time you stepped onto the battlefield, brother?
'' That is your path, not mine. I've lives to think about, brother, not whims ... even those who go to war want a safe place to return to when all is over ... " And maybe Viserys didn't want to admit it aloud ( or make him worry even further ) because his health wasn't what it used to be; he could feel it fading day by day.

"Do not even think about mocking me, Viserys," the prince's voice sliced through the heavy silence that enveloped them, sharp and unyielding like the sword he frequently wielded. His gaze pierced into the man who had once stood by his side as a trusted ally, now transformed into his king, and the intensity of his look was almost tangible.
The prince paused, breath held tight, his hand poised just above the parchment sprawled on the makeshift table between them. Candlelight flickered across his armor, casting dancing shadows over his weary yet resolute features. The curtains swayed softly, letting in a cool evening breeze that carried whispers of the night’s triumph to the two men inside. The air was thick with the scent of damp earth and iron, a quiet reminder of the recent battle, clinging to the young prince. The glory belonged to him; he had emerged victorious, not the king.
I AM YOUR KING
Viserys often reminded him, his voice unwavering yet tinged with a slight tremor when addressing the prince. He understood the folly of challenging him in such a mood, especially after a hard-won victory.
The prince took a hearty gulp from his wine horn, the deep red liquid staining his beard as he let out a laugh that held no joy. "You may be the king, brother, but in this moment, we are merely two men—brothers who have faced more than our share of wars. Well, one of us has faced more than the other. When was the last time you stepped onto the battlefield, brother? When will you cease your words and start acting like a king?" He slammed the horn down, the sound reverberating in the cramped room.
"And here, you will not address me as a lord would his servant. We are kin, and I demand your respect! I demand so much more than being your second thought always."
The air thickened with tension, heavy as the fur of a winter wolf, and Viserys recognized that the prince was not one to be trifled with. Leaning back in his chair, the prince's gaze wandered over the map spread before them, tiny wooden figures symbolizing the armies and strategies that had unfolded just weeks prior. His hand hovered over the spot where the enemy commander had met his end, the crimson mark on the map a vivid reminder of the battle's result. It was the prince who had claimed the victory, not the king.
"I want what is rightfully mine," he declared, his voice gaining strength with each syllable. "I seek the acknowledgment I have earned through blood and steel, not through the whims of our late father or the murmurs of a court that values neither valor nor honor. You claim I cannot achieve this, brother—are those words from your heart, or merely echoes of that foolish king's hand who whispers sweet nothings to you at night? We are brothers, and I am owed my chance. You know this, and you know father would have wanted us to unite."

For the ask game, could l ask about Tamar? That's my birth name, your opinion about it would be really interestinggg
Oooh I love Tamar.
The first choice would be Rogue, but I think she can also be a Druid. She's wise and connected to emotions and nature through her understanding of the laws of Yibum and her name. (Tamar means "Datepalm"). She knew what was owed to her, which was that Yehudah needed to marry her because his sons, her late husbands, had died, and he need to continue his sons' legacy. Tamar was well-learned in Jewish law and also had a connection to G-d with her wisdom.
For her alignment, I think she'd be Lawful Good. I know, I know, "but she tricked Yehudah!" Yeah but she was following the law. She was following the laws of Yibum and knew she was in the right.
