I liked the part with the Intermediate Bulk Containers.
Galaxy Quest is a pretty amusing Star Trek send up that grows less overtly comedic and more compelling as it goes. By the end it had almost entirely dropped the parody, and was just a genuinely fun fish-out-of-water sci-fi adventure.
The whole cast gave solid, funny performances, but Tony Shaloub was the comedic standout. Every scene of him and his weirdly nonchalant acceptance of the weird stuff happening made me laugh. The bit where they all beamed onto the ship and it was like a horror movie but he arrived grinning was so good. I'm glad he got to be the alien-fucker he was born to be, and who can blame him? Missi Pyle was so adorable I could *almost* overlook the whole "monstrous squid creature" thing myself.
I love that they commented on how clean the floors of the real spaceship were. I also love that Tim Allen lost his shirt as soon as they went on an away mission, and that Sigourney Weaver's cleavage became progressively more exposed as the movie went on in line with her character's treatment on the show. The part where Sam Rockwell took her hands and broke down crying "Mommy! Mommy! Mommy!"? Perfectly understandable behaviour. Who among us wouldn't do the same in her presence?
I wonder if maybe, after the events of Galaxy Quest, Alexander Dane/Dr. Lazarus might be less annoyed by his “By Grabthar’s Hammer” line than he was, considering how it was the last thing he said to his dying friend Quellek.
Fred, you had a part people loved. I mean, my TV Guide interview was six paragraphs about my BOOBS and how they fit into my suit. No one bothered to ask me what I do on the show.
Sigourney Weaver as Gwen DeMarco in Galaxy Quest (1999)
Swiped this idea from someone else because it looked fun and it's been a while since I've done a poll. You know the drill, please vote and reblog! ✌️ if you like, tell me in the tags which movie you voted for because I am endlessly curious.
Edited to add: there's a poll for second-place favorite in the notes, if you look!
