It's that time of year again, and THE HOZIERNATURAL MULTI-SHIP BANG IS BACK!

Just like last year, all characters, ships, gen fics, and x readers are welcome! This is for everyone who wants to write/draw Supernatural characters to the inspiration of Hozier's music.

However, there are a couple big changes in the procedures that we're really excited about:

We are really excited to roll out a new tiered system this year! Would you love to participate but tend to write shorter one shots or only have time in your schedule for 1 art piece? We've got you! Are you one of those who always creates extra art or ends up writing 150k words for a 5k minimum event and would love some extra time to indulge in those urges? We've got you covered, too!

We are doing claims instead of matching this year. So, authors, feel free to start working out your ideas as soon as you like (especially those of you who like to write tomes. You know who you are)!

We are not managing song choices this year. We want every one of you guys to get your top song pick. If 17 authors want to choose "Work Song" or "Take Me to Church," have at it!

The New Gallery, November 18 - December 22, 2023

“Cradleboards have been used for thousands of years by our ancestors to carry and love for our future generations. They have protected us, acted as an external womb, and given us a place as children to watch our parents' culture and learn from a safe distance. I’ve always wondered if the fact that neither my father, his father, or myself was ever put in a cradleboard may have had a long term impact on our development, personhood, and our coping mechanisms to the ways that colonialism, residential schools and the foster care system has affected my family.

Now as an adult I deeply wish I could rewind the clock and put myself, and my father before me, and his father before him in a cradleboard as a child. To softly sing songs to us, give us safety, and to give us a connection to our culture in a safe environment. Maybe this would fix things. As kids when we were supposed to be kept safe and playing in the woods we were instead being prepped for the meat factory - the eternal meat grinder of colonialism.

The western world teaches us to push aside this childhood imagining and innocence - “These things can’t be undone!”, but what if they could? In another world somebody took better care of us, in another time we learned to drum and sing and dance, in another place we were listened to by adults who had the capacity to love and care for us.

These hot chest and aching throat feelings, the times of biting back angry tears and saying “It’s fine” have to count for something….right?”

“Morgan Possberg Denne is Two-Spirit millennial scoop and foster care survivor; with settler, Cree, Metis, and Chippewa blood connections. They have grown up in treaty 7 territory, and have relatives in southern and northern Ontario. Morgan creates imaginative, illustrative objects which could be seen as pieces of possible narratives, different ways to connect with the past and potential futures through layers of abstraction with no right or wrong answer. What matters to them is not accurately recreating the past or to predict the future, but rather to capture an inner truth and a possible alternative reality of colonial experiences. In a sense, creating new culture from a series of “what-ifs” and new stories / lore. Their work has been recently shown at the Confederation Centre for the Arts and Gallery Gachet.”

magical things about my new residence that I have realized is like the modern equivalent of having a patron for my art

1. It's paid and on top of that I have a budget of 3 grand for materials, I have an advertising team and a materials-gathering team separate from all of that just ingrained into the position

2. It's split into two parts:

- a few scheduled community workshops where local people will sign up and I will teach / lead / guide them to make a large project, I've discussed with my supervisor and think I've decided on writing a story and then each participant will randomly draw a 1-2 sentence blurb and make a collage about their interpretation of that so that every page can be compiled into a visual display and then made into a printed book 😭

- my own personal project, which I at first thought had to be related to the top one but it does not and I cannot explain to you how unbelievable it felt to have a conversation that went 'well I'm working on this solar system project but I have nowhere to hang it up or go all out like I really want to' and my supervisor going 'we can carve out a large section of the building and help with that, we could even run it as a solo gallery show and you can talk through your process of pastiche, we have mics and lighting' LIKE IT WAS EASILY DOABLE? POSSIBLE? REAL? LIKE MY ART WAS WORTH THAT?

Also features interactive community lots (some with clubs tied to them so keep an eye out for teens hanging out around them). An Empty lot in Willow creek you can customize or grow a legacy on, and a starter house option in Newcrest.

What can you do in this as a teen in this save file? Survive the exams. Get your music skills up so you can try to join an existing garage band! Try to take over the Populars (club) and rule the school. Hang out with the goth kids in the cemetery at night- but watch out for ghosts! Throw a banging party or go to one already taking place under the local music store. Shop till you drop at the mall. Graffiti buildings all over Simnation. Get expelled. The list goes on and on!

Some ground rules:

Keep it fairly light, I’m happy to doodle most stuff and won’t rule out injured Spamton, rescue etc. But although I find ‘Spamton fucking dies.png’ hilarious, it ain’t the tone of this ask box and we like to see a positive conclusion most of the time.

This version of Spamlings/Minitons are like a house pet or dumb DnD familiar, imagine if your Spamton Plush sort of came alive but was just a bit of a loveable dumbass, somewhere between a rabbit and a cat. I am not into infantilising characters myself, and this isn’t meant to be that kind of vibe. (I have to specify this or I WILL get some kinky-ass asks and I’m not gonna be doing that chums lmao)

It’s partially canon that the Centre is owned and co-managed by the Actual_Spamton.Tm. After reaching the modern world (somehow), he’s made a tonne of money selling off his various Pipis Spamling variants as loveable pets, but he’s a grumpy bastard and has come to resent the business.

You can drop your Spamton off for a [small unspecified fee] to hang out with the other Spamlings, maximum stay of 2 weeks, after which they become the Daycare’s property and can be put up for rehoming/auction.

You can adopt and foster some of the weird Spams we have available here (I’ll post a rogues gallery occasionally like a cat shelter). The centre works on both first-come-first-serve AND a bidding system, depending on the pedigree of the Spamling or the profit that Spamton Prime thinks he can make on them.

The centre is open to visitors, much like a slightly weird, fucked up Cat Cafe. You can interact and play with long-term residents (if they feel like it), buy them treats, and sample the food (it is truly awful as noted on every TripAdvisor review).
