Skyrim. I understand some glitches, Bathesda, but...really?

This is a bit of a personal rant, so disregard if you so wish.

As a woman and a geek I'm aware of how my female species is portrayed in geekdom, and I can usually pass it off with a desensitized roll of my eyes.  After all there's really nothing I can do about the fact that some men have unrealistic views about the physics of breasts and what sorts of outfits are actually practical to fight in...

That being said, sometimes I just have to say something.

Like many others I have been rather thoroughly engrossed in Skyrim of late, and have been pleasantly surprised at the tribal respect and equality that is emphasized in descriptions of my Orc brethren.

Yes, I'm an Orc.  A visibly female Orc, I'd say, though not paricularly "girlish" in my choice of sporting a dread mohawk complimented rather nicely by warpaint the color of dried blood and facial scars.  The jutted-out lower lip and fangs is really the clincher for me.  I just enjoy the physique, despite its apparent grotesqueness.  I felt no need to pretty myself up, and honestly spent more time deciding on warpaint than anything else.

That being said, I enjoyed the character customization as well as the traditional Orc culture of mutual respect and equality among the sexes (though I have yet to see actual evidence of this in Skyrim).  And this may seem like a lot of buildup for this not-so-controversial story, but I suppose it's a kind of "straw that broke the camel's back" deal combined with me reading a lot of feminist literature of late.

So the story...while pursuing the quests associated with the Companion storyline (in which, for those who don't know, I become a werewolf mercenary) there was an unfortunate death of a fellow Companion.  I was (oh so respectfully) looting his corpse for cool wolf stuff, and I decided to try on his super-cool looking wolf armor (seeing as it had the same capacity of protection as my current steel armor, I figured I'd give it a try).  I was, however, disgusted when I donned the armor of my fallen wolf-brother, to find that the armor that once graced his very visibly masculine figure quite snugly was apparently made of a very flexible and body-hugging (or enhancing...) metal.

 My character was suddenly and grotesquely endowed with freakish metal boobs.  And I say grotesquely because honestly it was more grotesque than my Orc-face.  It did NOT fit my character, nor did it actually conform to my body type (which I had seen in full light seconds before, as I was nearly naked post-beast-form).  My characters breasts were just not that size. At all.  And I'm pretty sure my fallen comrade's pecs were not shaped that way either.

Needless to say I discarded the armor in disgust and stuck with my thankfully boob-reducing steel armor.  

I just want to be a badass Orc.  What do my boobs have to do with that?  It's primarily a first-person game as is, so I say again...what do my boobs have to do with that?

And before you even think it, no, I'm not ugly, single, fat, sexually promiscuous, or a lesbian (not that any of those things should have an affect on what I'm saying, but forgive me if I assume general ignorance).

Geek Girl Problems I guess...off to take out my frustrations on a dragon or two...
