#gelfling Bhihaar

Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas!!

I made these a few weeks ago before I went full throttle with the big Gelfling oc project. Just some happy couples in winter sweaters lol

The first is the sweet Adora x Takoda ship! Aaahhh they’re too precious. I can’t wait to draw more of them because there’s a bunch to explore.

The second is Tau and Enyo who I believe are more flirting with each other. They’re interested in one another but neither has made a move to deepen the bond to a romantic one. Tau was originally going to have a beefy Dousan boyfriend because my sister demanded it lol Buut I feel like Tau is interested more in pretty softer featured Gelfling.

Enyo is on her road to becoming a better Gelfling. Some time after Fleur leaves Stone-in-the-wood is when Enyo explores Thra and begins rethinking certain beliefs her parents taught her. Fleur 100% calls Enyo out when she sees Enyo dating someone who isn’t Stonewood. Enyo’s growth is another story to be told.

We might see more Tau x Enyo because I think they look cute lol

Lastly, we have the Stonesan parents Maeve x Bhihaar! I love them and they are that married couple who is just so happy to be married and unafraid of PDA. I believe the PDA took some time for Bhihaar to get use to but he enjoys holding Maeve’s hands and pecking her cheek in public. Maeve on the other hand is unashamed- she loves her man and boy does she have a good man 😆

I have another set but I just haven’t finished it yet, so be prepared to see that in time

So I did my morning Gelfling studies, and I drew @thanatasia Ocs, I know some of them look crappy, but It was my first time drawing them^^

I caught Covid and sketched this out when I was starting to feel better last week. I had an idea in mind and needed to sketch it quickly

Here’s a little sketch comic of young Maeve and Bhihaar during one of their secret rendezvous as friends. They’re both catching feeling but too shy to tell the other flat out that they’re taken by the other.

This is gonna be added to my list of wips lol

Can you tell that I have fun drawing Maeve’s expressions? I swear some of the expressions she’s making I have sketched for Fleur- especially that surprised expression on the second page. I’ll try finding the comparison because yeah Maeve and Fleur look very similar face wise. The only things separating young Maeve from Fleur is their fringes/hair length, eye shape and beauty mark location lol

Let’s take a moment to admire he head shot of Bhihaar in the last page. Sick me drew Bhihaar very handsome. Maybe he looks a bit more handsome because his face isn’t full of his signature facial tattoos because you can see more of his face.

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!

I’ve been working on and off on this art challenge that I will be continuing until I finish them all despite the month lol

I’ve got an important commission set to finish before my birthday so my time for self indulgent art is lower than before.

We’ve seen Day 1 earlier this month but a cute first kiss between Fleur and Razer when she confessed her feelings to Razer.

Cha’l and Shiyoon sharing a morning kiss before beginning their day with all of their childlings ready to cause mischief lol. I imaging that the two stay in bed a few extra minutes to just enjoy each others company before their days truly begin lol

Next is Kiel and Sammi enjoying a well deserved date away from all their childlings. Azra is probably babysitting because she knows how to gets all the kiddos in line. Kiel and Sammi’s dates are always welcomed breaths of fresh air, enjoying the serenity and quite of the forest or shores, depending on the location.

The following are two characters no one except my bestie and sister would know, because they are Ocs from a story my sister and I were creating. The guy on the left is Tatsuya and the girl is Asphodel. They have a intense slow burn romance because like all stories with young adults, they are trying to prevent the end of the world. Normally Asphodel has much longer hair but I always intended to have her hair short before the big battle. Here the two share a final kiss before that battle because I imagine they confess to each other earlier.

Continuing on with OceanPetals, we have them trying to share a kiss but their itty bitty baby had a nightmare. So kissy time has to be put on hold lol. The romance isn’t lost for the new parents though! They sneak little pecks here and there. But when their precious treasure calls out for them, nothing else matters. A rare pencil sketch from me because my eyes have gotten pretty bad so I need to limit my screen time. A girl can spend hours and hours straight drawing a piece *cough cough* and searching the web lol

Finally, we have a younger Bhihaar and Maeve sharing a secret moment together. I need to figure out what Bhihaar’s lie is to his Xeric that makes it easy for him to sneak out without much suspicion. Maeve is conflicted because on one hand she doesn’t care what her parents think of the relationship. But, she also is deathly afraid of being disowned by them in these early romantic meet ups. Her wings are missing for the laziness I feel atm, I tried but my brain kinda shut off.

All of these pieces range in many coloring styles but certain ones I plan on prettying up like the first piece.

Sketches from a mix between last year and yesterday about Modern AU Fleur and her anime phase as a tween.

These are fun times in her life but also a time that she wants to keep hidden because she was a pretty cringey young lass. And believe me I have a few cringey scenarios for her lol

Both Maeve and Bhihaar alternated between accompanying Fleur since she was too young to attend a convention by herself. Maeve gets into it and dresses up with Fleur. The first piece of them is them both cosplaying Sailor Jupiter, the second is the two of them cosplaying Sakura and her mom from, “Naruto.” I feel like cosplaying for tween Fleur was one of her confidence boosters and adult Fleur has to thank her anime phase for that lol

Bhihaar is that confused parent about the anime lingo/terminology but is happy to see Fleur happy and confident amongst her fellow weebs. The last image of them is a bit hard to read but Fleur bought a figure and Bhihaar said it would be a good idea to get a bag. The only bag available is one promoting an Otome Romance game- he offered to hold it in Fleur’s stead.

And yes, tween Fleur played Otome romance games but the ones that were appropriate for her age group. Idk if that’s something, I’ve vaguely going off an old innocent flash dating sims from y8.com and this other zombie apocalypse one that was a mobile game. An innocent one because I know some dating sims can be suggestive.

The last sketch is Fleur realizing she’s gonna have to face her tween past with Razer and prepare for the laughs he will make lol

I had to include the last sketch because I know Fleur would have the best reaction to Razer catching a glimpse of a scrapbook she forgot to hide much better 😆

Once I get some other pieces finished I gotta do a Shiyoon and Cha’l one because 1) Cha’l loves his wife’s love for anime but he doesn’t understand the lore of most anime lol and 2) I get a kick out of the sketch I made of their son, Iry talking about an anime with him and asking Shiyoon to help him understand! Oh the hilarity!

I rise from my vampire coffin bed to bring you all more IG Questions I made. Some are from a while ago and others are fairly recent.

We know how I love to write so here’s a brief continued thought for each

It’s not often I draw Fleur and Cha’l as childlings so this one was fun! They’re both so whittle and precious- Maeve and Bhihaar created two cutie pies! I apologize if Fleur’s baby talk is written poorly I was having difficulty writing how I think a young kid would pronounce those words lol

Fleur loves reading and writing so I definitely see her enjoying manga/anime as a young lassywings in a modern au lol Pretend that the screenshots I added have Gelfling ears. She’s one of those younger anime fans who doesn’t let anyone but their closest friends know. (I’m sure this idea is a thing of the past now since anime is pretty mainstream now)

I imagine that this particular scene is from Fleur early bounty hunting days, hence the mask. To keep with the AoR canon Fleur doesn’t kill criminals, she fights them into submission or uses sleeping powder/ta

I will never not be cheering that OceanPetals became parents! Definitely one of Fleur’s most treasured memories. Razer belongs to,my dear friend @jack-toons

The next two are from a reverse au myself and Jack-toons made and- I AM OBSESSED WITH IT!! Aahhhh! Y’all are not ready for that AU lol The Cha’l everyone has come to love is a delinquent and a big time charmer. Reverse au Cha’l gets into plenty of fights, likes to show off his physique to the lassywings he takes a shine to, among other fun things I’ll share in time lol. The first image is of both Cha’ls meeting and OG Cha’l being disappointed. The second is of Cha’l beating someone up for saying something disrespectful to Fleur

The last is of a new ship between Takoda and Adora- they’re so sweet! They are like that sweet couple in a cottage. How the two of them met will be shared another time, for now, Adora’s decision to go topside created many wonderful outcomes she had not anticipated. For Takoda, meeting Adora was a breath of fresh air, he didn’t realize how much he really yearned for that companionship Adora brought with her.

I live! Just very busy with a lot of things.

In between a commission, I pieced together this reels for IG. These things usually look neater due to video editing apps buuuut I don't have one of those yet (and don't know how to use them 🥲) hence the shaky video and sound.

There were a few ocs that I heard the voices and knew just who I would put for them. Others I had to choose what sounded close in my head.

I love how no one really likes Tore and he ended up getting the longest part lol

All of these are sketches from many months- about a year ago. If some look nicer than others that's most likely why.

Cha'l gets the lost one because he CANNOT sing to save his life. Only his wife, Shiyoon, can listen to him without covering her ears. It's also funny that the only gelf who can't sing, he also gets a long part.

In the future I want to redo this with better drawings and probably different ocs.

I know myself and I will write a paragraph explaining why I chose who for each part, but I'll save everyone the lecture 😅

The last bit of IG asks where people made assumptions about OceanPetals’ childling who will be arriving soon!

The last one is a very canon reaction to how Maeve, Bhihaar and Fiona reacted when they heard that Fleur and Razer were expecting. I imagine that Maeve and Fiona had a mini celebration amongst themselves because this was their mom-tag-team mission lol

So many different variations of what the childling could look like! Soon all will be revealed.

It’s many a moon since my last post. Here’s two gifs I made for IG reels. I unfortunately don’t know how to extract sound and make a proper video so these are the silent versions.

The first is from the, I’m Sat, meme/audio featuring young Bhihaar and Maeve. I forgot to add Bhihaar’s tattoos when I made this last month.

The second is just a small compilation of some wip’s I have…I have many many wip’s lol

Currently I’m working on a commission so I won’t post much until that piece is done, but I hope these two little gifs are enjoyable.

Happy 2nd anniversary to TDC:AoR! (I’m hoping to post some more stuff as well today too)

Maeve’s comic is starting off much more cleaner sketch than I originally intended. I got a new art gig to help develop a young artist and it motivated me a lot to make Maeve’s comic closer to what my college penciled comics looked like. (I also intend on making my stonegrot pieces for Stonegrot week to be close to this level)

These are all characters I rarely draw, Ofir is the closest to being an exception. And so far it’s been nice drawing them and writing their dialogue. I can’t wait to write more for Vidra and Erdahn since only one other person knows more about them. I also can’t wait to write little mentions of the elder Stonesan siblings because you know how some grandparents can be and the Stonewood grandparents are them lol.

This comic is gonna focus on Maeve as well as overlap with some events from the series. Heads up that future pages will have a trigger warning and be tagged as such. This comic during it’s climax is gonna be a ride.

I needed to quickly sketch a silly comic of the Stonesan parents aka Maeve.exe stopped working lol

Maybe this is when they were sneaking off to see each other. Maybe this was when they had first begun courting. Whichever one it is, this is the first time they go swimming and Maeve sees Bhihaar’s back tattoos and is in love.

Bhihaar is worried because a) if Maeve is still messed up he’d have to bring her home to some very upset Stonewood parents(clan) and b) he’s genuinely concerned about her being sick and thinking she met up with him despite having a fever or something.

Let’s say the apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree. Fleur has a similar reaction to Razer’s chest tattoo. Cha’l gives this reaction to so many of Shiyoon’s flirtations when they were first starting out. And although Kiel isn’t related to the Stonesan family, he sure does give a similar reaction to Sammi’s arm tattoos lol

More IG questions! (Still need to answer/revise my old tumblr asks lol and get ready!)

The first shows Enyo looking very distraught. I like getting questions about the Garthim Wars and how my Ocs reacted to learning the truth. It’s interesting to think about how different Ocs react to the same event, because there are so many possibilities. When I eventually get to draw/sketch Garthim Wars stuff it will be pretty heavy.

The second and third are wholesome sketches of baby and childling Fleur; featuring a toddler Cha’l! Fleur is Maeve and Bhihaar’s princess but she has also given them plenty of mini heart attacks before her wings sprouted.

Seeing the last two sketches reminds me that I never shared what Kiel’s parents might look like this never sketching a childling Kiel *gasp* and childling Azra! Soon lol

This week had proven to be a big burn out week thanks to my job. (I won’t get into it because it’s been a lot of things bunched up into one) So I did some quick IG questions. Here are the ones that were related to all my Stonewood and Stonesan answers, featuring Azra!

Thankfully the Starbucks in Barnes and Nobles was open so I was able to do a super sketchy sketch of Maeve and Bhihaar enjoying a little romantic ride. In her youth Maeve was a rascal and one of her dates with Bhihaar involved them sneaking to the Castle Guard stables and stealing a Landstrider for the night. If you’ve seen the “Lion King 2” the scene where Kiara and Kovu help scare the birds for Timon and Pumbaa, that is them. Maeve being super into it and Bhihaar being a bit awkward at first before fully having fun.

Azra is one tough little lady but don’t approach her with a Landstrider. She’s terrified of the idea of getting squashed; one reason why you’ll never find her on a ship (she doesn’t like cramped spaces) and just the sight of a lone Landstrider gets her heart racing. Only Gelfling super close to Azra know about that tidbit and the first one is her soul sister. If you want to be on Azra’s good side, never surprise her with Landstriders.

Tore has quickly become such an interesting character and believe me I have a bunch of questions to answer about him. I can’t wait for everyone to see what’s cookin’ with Tore! Back to the IG story. When Tore isn’t being a skirt chaser he can be pretty fun. He balances goofing around and seriousness at the castle guard really well. It’s a dream of his to be a Captain and he wants to make his parents proud (I believe his family puts a lot of pressure on him since he’s at the Castle).

And finally Fleur! She hates tithes. I could imagine she’s told her tithes aren’t good enough sometimes, and because she forgets she’ll look like the anime trope of a character running out the house with toast in their mouth lol Prior to the resistance she’s very indifferent to the Skeksis but does not like the General at all and she admires the Ornamentalist.

Be on the lookout for some more as well as some big OC asks to be answered!

So my area had a snow storm and it was amazing! Probably a foot or more of snow, which is like a dream come true to me because I love seeing the snow fall and playing with my dog!

I had taught my comic making class today and the theme was “winter wonderland” or “snow day” and let me tell you, I LOVE when one partner in a ship isn’t familiar with the seasons the other is use to, and they’re experiencing it for the first time with their true love! Here in my super sketchy, Zoom whiteboard, unfinished thumbnails we see a young Bhihaar experiencing snow for the first time and Maeve is so excited to get him out there!

Zoom is not artist friendly, and I couldn’t go into Procreate for today’s class, but I oddly like how it looks. There’s suppose to be words but a girl had no time and these camera photos are all that remains of this comic because once the class ended they disappeared forever.

Will I finish this one day? Hopefully lol

I really REALLY had to draw Bhihaar and Maeve in their youth, ok!

My mom had “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” on and this scene- screamed Bhihaar x Maeve, especially with the cultural differences. In the “Gathering Songs” book it says; “...the Dousan do not eat the flesh of any creature that moves during the day...” I can vividly see this being a cultural difference that Maeve’s parents can’t understand.

In the movie the main character isn’t talking to her mother, but in this Dark Crystal version Maeve is talking to her mother. Soon she will have a name and she will be accompanied by Maeve’s dad and Bhihaar’s parents.

Also here’s a snippet of the Stonesan siblings’ grandmother when she was a bit younger!

I did a thing again on my IG stories! This time with the Stonesan siblings parents Bhihaar and Maeve when they were much younger! Bhihaar’s facial tattoos changed because after a few days I really disliked the first ones I gave him lol

Most of these go along the lines of Bhihaar complimenting Maeve but in a way that he would compliment a Dousan he fancied. Maeve being a Stonewood would be confused about being compared to bones and anything relating to death but we all know she falls for him eventually.

They were cute in their prime and they made three cute babies!
