Nope, he's not, though I still enjoy those (AUniverse is what made me wanna do this). His human parent is a transfem interpretation of Nanafua! Idk why, I think it's just because I wanted a poc Steven, but Smiley is probably gay and Kofi has a different energy than what I wanted. Also, he's hard of hearing, aided by a gemtech implant, due to an incident caused by his gem as a baby that Bloop doesn't like to talk about nor elaborate on. Squishy baby bodies aren't built to host full-size Diamonds.

As his mother is Nanafua Pizza, Steven is actually in the same generation as Greg, Kofi, Barb, Vidalia, etc. Connie's there too, though, because I love her and I can. The au takes place in an alternate 80s and 90s!

I'll put pictures here before the lore. Note that some may be out of date, such as including old Lace designs, Demantoid instead of Pyrope, Ocean Jasper, or a different version of Morganite.

Raised by Blue Pearl (Bloop), Rose Quartz, and her followers: Pyrope, Chevron Amethyst, and the rarely seen Saltwater Pearl. They were all quite close to "Lace Agate" and her wife. Nanafua gave them custody so she could focus on her political career and handle older son Kofi's constant acting out.

No one knows why Lace joined the rebellion. She was always overly attached to Rose and acted like she was entitled to her attention and (platonic) love more than anyone else. Mothering and doting to Rose, cold and standoffish to the others. Most chalk it up to "Agate instincts", but Rose gets nervous and weird whenever anyone asks about her. Not to mention Rose's frequent trips away and calls to off-workd...

No one knows why Blue Diamond disappeared. Homeworld has suffered so much loss over that little planet. Blue vanished. Pink... changed, in form and mind. Yellow had to take over as White's regent due to her "failing health".

What would the Council species think about gemtech? Since it is technology not based on Eezo that can do things like faster than light travel with its gravity warps, distorting space so that ships are bigger inside than outside, the paralyzing wands and other absurd things.

Sorry it took a little bit to get to this!! 😁 and thank you so much for sending in an ask!! i give u one big hug ! I had to kinda think about it for a few days honestly, since gemtech seems so mysterious in terms of how it's presented in the show while Mass Effect has somewhat of an explanation for a lot of their technology. And if I were to be honest, I think it should stay that way- having no real explanation makes it sound scary and alien. "What are they capable of?" I think is the collective thought anyone would have probably. Too many theories, too dangerous to get a closer look, so it's left up in the air to uncertainty. Once again shoutout to Salarians...... they would be equally intrigued and terrified about what the hell these things are. They defy the logic of what's possible, but there has to be some sort of explanation as to how it works...

1 - I would assume so, though it's not really relevant to the story so I haven't given it much thought. He is definitely a cambion, though.

2 - Probably not, I'd sooner bring Dracula back (kinda infamous for never being quite dead for good, after all) than write an adaptation of Castlevania's Alucard (though it would admittedly be very amusing to write him having a rivalry with Blade).

Also, to be clear, when I wrote that Prof. van Helsing killed Dracula way back when, I had no intention of doing a crossover about it at all - both those characters exist in the Marvel universe already. I hardly know enough about Castlevania lore to attempt that kind of thing, anyway, though to be fair, I did like what I watched of the Netflix show enough to consider it later on in the very unlikely hypothetical that I bring Drac back. Absolutely no promises on that front, though.

3 - Spoilers, don't you think? But I will say, SWORD already has access to Gem tech thanks to their involvement with Rose. They just can't really do anything with it, it's too advanced.

4 - Also spoilers, sorry (but again, don't expect humanity to get anywhere near Gemtech standards. That's just not feasible, but you might see some very precocious swings at "modern" tech by galactic standards)

If I'm planning on direct threading a suppressor, should i use a crush washer to prevent backoff? I don't ever really plan on removing the suppressor because i dont plan on sharing it on other guns, and the Gemtech suppressors are easy to clean on the muzzle.

Hmmm how do Gems see the arcane? Since the Gemtech seemed to be magitek just like Hextech

It's somewhat like the main timeline where I think they'd be able to see it if they understand it and can harness it, but most gems can't see it normally. Rather than Hextech being a part of the gems, the cluster is the Hexcore/ the main source for Hextech. And in my Au Viktor can fuse with it.

I think Jayce and Jinx would also be able to be semi-connected to it like how Steven can communicate with it.

My Au isn't like a set replica of Arcane or Steven Universe, but a fusion. Rather than having diamonds controlling homeworld upfront it would be the "Gem Council" and would be put together similarly to Arcane, I think there would also be Daimonds, but not sure who those would be yet :3

Breakdown of my current loadout. Missions with specialized hardware requirements might result in additional gear being issued, but for a regular patrol, it's usually something like this.

*Rifle* - Standard fighting weapon, two hand grip, rifle caliber. Typically configured in full-auto for emergency situations; trigger discipline can be used to pick single shots. My current issue is a compact Kalashnikov-based design, the Kastov, chambered in 5.56x45 NATO. I like this one because it will accept 5.56, 7.62x39mm, '54 rimmed, 10mm auto and even 7.62 Tokarev. This one is fitted with a Micro T1 sight without a riser, for lower height-over-bore.

*Suppressor* - Usually I have my primary OR sidearm suppressed, not both. This allows me the option of a stealthy approach while still retaining an unsuppressed weapon, which typically have better ballistics. This one is a Hux Ventum with a canvas wrap to reduce the can's heat signature.

*Handgun* - Remember, switching to your pistol is always faster than reloading. NCO's, officer-class Militiamen, and myself all carry a sidearm in case of primary stoppage. Standard issue is a no-frills Glock in a P80 configuration in black or two-tone. This particular serial was taken from an installation on the south side and sporterized for combat use by SMT-0 with a Gemtech compensator and Leupold Deltapoint RDS.

*Grenade* - Offhand thrown weapons offer more flexibility approaching a situation. The Mk3A7 offensive concussion grenade is a good choice when fragmentation grenades run too great a risk of over penetration or friendly fire.

*Melee* - A blunt instrument helps me get the drop on raider sentries, keeping their deaths silent and my infiltration secret. This pattern of shock baton is standard issue for militiamen in riot-prone installations.

*Bladed* - You don't need a knife until you do! More of a practical implement than a weapon in this loadout, kept for cutting rope, processing firewood, prepping dinner... and the occasional raider who gets too close.

Could Technus control the Gemtech? Or would this be too advanced/incompatible with his ghost powers?

I think it depends. It would make sense if not every piece of gem technology was made the same way or with the same materials. However, I do believe that most of their technology is incomparable with his powers, for I have a long-standing headcanon that most of their structures and / or computers are actually just modified gemstones with minimal consciousness capable of assuming any form the diamonds need, so possessing them wouldn't be any different than possessing a regular gem.

Glein: Leader of the GemTech Empire. He made the models of most modern Gem Technology and resources. He’s been undermining the Diamond Authority for centuries now due to how they treated His Diamond and her gems in the aftermath of her shattering.

Coral: A former Era 1 Pink Court Pearl that was experimented on by White Diamond who then gave her to Glein to “deal with” and the two ended up in a mutual relationship that is a “we kiss but never name it” type. She has a missing eye from Oliver ripping it out due to her claiming to have killed his little sister. She is cruel and vindictive and yet; Glein brings out that softness she once had.

Currently considering a direct thread suppressor like the Gemtech TREK.

It's a bit heavy and has tons of backpressure, but theoretically, I should be able to compensate for this with the adjustable gas block and sticking heavier buffers inside. The added weight should be negligible compared to the total weight of a QD can with it's dedicated muzzle device.

But I may consider QD cans down the road just to make it easier to put it on my other builds, not that my other builds are really set up for suppressor use right now.

Time will only tell.

Do the Aquamarines' wands and other similar Gemtech have a limit to what they can paralyze? Could it stop Supergirl or Captain Marvel?

It's a zero-point field projector - the target can't do absolutely anything because it reduces everything within the field to the absolute lowest energy state. Conversely, nothing outside the field can affect its contents - if you've played D&D, it's like if you combined the spells of Hold Person/Monster and Globe of Invulnerability into one.

In theory, the only limit that a projector like Aquamarine's wand has is its power source, which affects how large the field can be and for how long it can be sustained. It may not be the intent in the show, but it is my headcanon that the field holding Alexandrite would've failed if Aquamarine had tried to hold it another minute or so, given her size. Gem warships have much larger and more powerful projectors that serve as tractor beams - and unlike your typical sci-fi ones, there's just no possibility of escape without outside intervention, since even the thrust of the captured ship is frozen in place.

There's also the supernatural factor; if a sorcerer were to be captured in such a field, for example, they would be able to project their astral self, and a god's physical form could be captured but they could easily break out by adopting their true form or simply ditching the body.

Supergirl's abilities are entirely biological - strong as she is, she technically operates within the constraints of physics (plus a few handwavy BS things), so she wouldn't be able to escape. Carol's powers are a reflection of an Infinity Stone, which might not be magic in the traditional sense, but is definitely beyond the normal parameters of the universe (purposefully so) - I have no doubt her power would be able to flood the system and overwhelm the zero-point energy field projector.
