Something that I find strange in my opinion is, the few discord servers I’ve found for fictionkin and fictives have heavy focus on timelines and memories- something I can’t really relate to, personally, since 1. I have almost no “memories” due to being psychological in nature, and 2. Those I do have tend to be limited and very different then what’s “expected” of my particular ‘type/source

I’m curious: is a heavy fixation on memories the norm on places like discord, or has it just been the places I’ve found in particular? (No judgment here for those places- I still do enjoy interacting with them- I’m just curious if that’s generally the default.)

Like... Okay so I recently found out that I kin Wanderer from Genshin Impact (not Scaramouche, there is .. a difference) and there's this person I know, Raiden or Ei, and they said they were sorry for everything and.... We don't share the same canon (as far as I know, at least, and it is Very Unlikely that we do) and it's... Nice .. I guess. It's nice to see that, even if it is not the mother I knew. Even if my mother would not remember me and so I have no clue on if she would apologize or not. This one did and .. it's nice to hear that she's sorry, that she apologized.

Im STILL smart in canon, I canotically picked up rudamentary speech from just listening to Varka talk during the years he visited. I learned to fight without even understanding most of what Varka was telling me. I SPEAK WOLF. FLUENTLY. I picked up vision techniques from Lisa in barely a year of her training me! I may not know a lot in canon, but Im learning VERY quickly and I WISH PEOPLE WOULD SEE THAT.

(This isn't directed at anyone in particular, just some general frustrations about something that keeping coming up for some reason)

Stop saying "not all of us can be canon compliant" when you're told about something that doesn't align with your personal headcanon. Just because something isn't explicitly stated by source doesn't mean it's contradicted! By that logic, every xiaoven rememberer is canon divergent and if that would be rude to say surely you can understand why saying it about someone's individual story is rude.

Of course it's fine to be canon divergent! I think all of us are in some way or another, some more than others. It's totally normal and no less valid or real than being closer to canon. But me not being the slave of the God of Dreams is not canon divergent and saying that it is sounds an awful lot like you mean it in an invalidating way. Canon specifically and intentionally does not specify *anything* about my former master save that they were evil. Domain, element, age, territory, strength, personality, fighting style, gender (at least in the English translation) is all left vague. People assume that it was the god of dreams, because they don't have anything to go off except for the very little they know about my trauma, but that doesn't make it canon- and even if it was, it doesn't change canon in any meaningful way. There are only two or three things in my life canon contradicts and none of them change much of anything. We all have details like that.

To be clear, my issue is not with being canon divergent. It's with labels being projected onto me instead of letting me explore and define myself as feels right. Many of my lives are canon divergent, just not this one- and that may change, as canon's story isn't even close to over. But if it does, that realization is mine to have and my decision to make, no one else's.

For the post canon game I just wanna say yes my sister did save me from the Abyss but no we never did go back home. We remain trapped in Teyvat but it had already became our home by then. It took me some time to recover though after everything I experienced and of course Lumine’s friends were extremely wary of me (can’t blame them after all that I did) but they eventually accepted after some time. The most I remember was Lumine showing me all her favorite places in Teyvat and I started getting into Genius Invokation and became really good at it. And I may or may not have eventually gotten into a relationship with Albedo as well

i’m similar to furina in a lot of ways, including the insatiable sweet tooth. However. i don’t actually like cake. at all. i don’t like that it’s served cold (wrong temperature for baked goods), i don’t like the texture (why is it wet), i don’t like the taste (it’s like sweet styrofoam). it’s mildly amusing to me and kind of drives me nuts. canon furina i am begging you to get better taste in desserts.
