"Every VILLAIN is a HERO in their own mind."
It is time to evaluate who Harry is TODAY, not how we remember him growing up with his sweet charming smile, but today Harry is: a Grade A abuser.
George the Giant Slayer created a brilliant overview of the fictional book Spare. This is an excellent primer for anyone new to the story of the Montecito HUSTLER and a HATER. I recommend slowing down the speed of his video because there is much gold to be mined. Remember to read the funny captions George inserts in all his videos.😉
A few gold nuggets:
Spare is Harry's Temper Tantrum bc he was told "No." We are now watching a PR psychological snuff series
Harry is an Grade A abuser. Abusers lavish praise just before they attack
Harry is a Grade A abuser. His positive words of love, turn to ashes in his mouth as he punches the royal women & stabs the royal men with knives in the gut
Every great life has to be earned, cannot be lived off the backs of others
Duke of do nothing & his doppelganger duchess demanding to be worshipped by everyone
A half wit hater has been transformed into a full time bonafide royal traitor
Harry is high on hate to feather Meghan's nest & hurt the royal family
Harry is so high on hate, he snorts anger to smile and smokes spite in order to profit from manufactured pain
Hater and the Hustler intimatated to oprah that the royals were racists
Harry even lies by omission
Harry stabbed country & family in the back
Harry has a drug addled brain
Without Diana Harry has no story
Harry endeavors to bring down the monarchy to elevate his hustler wife to stardom so she can live the celebrity life
Harry is a cheap celebrity posing as a prince
The good men v the bad men in this story:
Prince William (a true gentleman) took the high road of silence
They are weaponized hypocrites on a round-the- clock revenge whine-a-thon which tells us they are slowly running out of cash
Meghan & Harry set a bear trap so the press would report kills to force someone to pay for their security
Mechanism to reassrt control and control is always about fear
Not a book, but a reengineering of their narrative to reasserrt their perspective. But his unwillingness to give up the titles shows you Harry is not a real man doing any of this out of love. If he gave up the titles, fully dissociated himself from the brf then his new family would truly be protected. Instead Harry is a person with nothing to offer on his own. He needs the titles to play the long con but in the end the truth will win out.

On Daenerys, Colonisation and Race Discourse within the ASOIAF Fandom
This has been on my mind for a good long while and honestly, as much as I would like to leave discourse in the pits, it has been bugging me intermittently over the past few weeks.
Far too many of you get on here and call people who like the fictional dragon-riding family, neo-Nazis and that sentiment is so prevalent, that white people feel comfortable telling me a black woman that I am a neo-Nazi for rooting for Daenerys Targaryen. I am upholding neo-Nazi power fantasies for wanting to see a little girl live at the end of a story. I am a neo-Nazi for wanting to see the rape survivor have the family she aches for and children with the man (or men) she loves.
Then, those same people go on spiels about how the systemic erasure of those who sing the song of the earth and other old races is not colonialism. That their removal from their home is not displacement but an agreement between two equal parties. The fact that the only place where those who sing the song of the earth exist in the present timeline is north of the wall, surrounded by the bones of their dead, is not a travesty. That the expulsion of the old races from their home isn't that bad and should not be condemned.
Instead, people argue, completely seriously, that the harm that the First Men and Andals have caused is centuries in the past, so essentially the slate has been wiped clean. The logical leaps that are required to arrive at such a boneheaded conclusion are truly mind-boggling, and those who make such arguments are not good people.
I am unsure how one could read those books and come away with the impression that the old races do not mourn the loss of their home. I am unsure how one could read The Last of the Giants[1] and Ygritte’s reaction to both the song and Jon’s dismissal of the ethnic cleansing of the giants then believe that the old races and the free folk have moved past their displacement.
In Westeros, from the Wall to the broken arm of Dorne, they all speak one language despite the fact they are all different ethnicities and they all landed on the shores at different times. That is not the case in Essos, we have been introduced to at least six languages and in A Dance with Dragons, Tyrion notes that the Valyrian spoken in the Free Cities has evolved into nine distinct dialects, and they are well on their way to becoming different languages.
How would a continent as large and diverse as Westeros maintain its hegemony over the people if not for forced assimilation, discriminatory practices and violence? The brutal repression required to keep one house in power for thousands of years is nothing to sniff at. The suppression required to keep the vast majority of Westeros worshipping one (or seven) gods. The systems in place ensure that language does not grow or evolve amongst the highborns at least.
Centuries before Aegon's Landing the maesters were the definitive educational authority and even now centuries after, nothing has changed. The grey rats still decide who learns what and when they learn it. There's one in every highborn home, all correspondence passes through them, they are the healers and the councillors.
The circular logic gets even more blockheaded when you factor in the fact that Daenerys is far from the only white character in the books. She is not the only character who wishes for home. She is not the only character who draws strength from her ancestors, her bloodline and her magical creatures.
Cersei draws strength from her family’s iconography, and the Stark children (Jon included) all draw strength from their direwolves, their home and their blood. Sansa, Arya and Bran wish to return home and their home was built on the indiscriminate murder and displacement of the indigenous peoples. Their home is built on centuries of rape, murder, exclusionary practices and sexual slavery.
However, if we give the nonsensical argument that time erases crimes air; the Starks, Lannisters and Tullys are warring to settle personal grievances in the present timeline. As a consequence of that war, thousands (a modest guesstimate) of small folk, minor nobles and even some major ones have been raped, tortured, maimed and killed.
Despite all this, no one writes meta after meta about how Sansa and her siblings must surely die for justice to be had for those who sing the song of the earth, the free folk, the giants and all the old races that fled beyond the wall.
People write meta about Cersei and how she must die, but those are typically more misogynistic nature. They typically argue that she must die not for the “crime” of being Lannister, but for the “crime” of being Cersei and “ruining” Jamie.
I would not mind criticisms of Dany and her peace-focused approach to ending slavery because the approach is naïve and she gives the slavers far too much ground. However, she is learning, growing and self-critiquing. At the end of A Dance with Dragons, she has decided to embrace fire and blood, her knight is breaking the false peace which is a necessary step forward.
What I find offensive is people saying that she should have planned better before she abolished slavery. And that the death, violence, and sickness that arises from her quest to eradicate slavery is somehow worse than the death, violence, and sickness that already existed in Slaver’s Bay.
This argument often downplays the horrific conditions and suffering that exist(ed) under the slave system in Slaver's Bay. Such arguments are often in poor taste and prioritise the lives and comforts of the slavers more than the people they have enslaved.
I would not mind criticisms of Dany if people applied that same critique even-handedly. The same people who believe that Jon and Bran have done much to rectify the evil that their ancestors perpetuated believe that Dany has not done anything to right the wrongs of her ethnic kin. They praise them for the non-existent steps that they have taken, but in the same breath, they condemn Dany for not being able to immediately end the plague that is slavery.
It is perfectly alright to not like fictional characters, no law requires you to like certain fictional characters over others. However, what is not right is making broad accusations about those who do, it is beyond the pale. It is disgusting, and annoying, and trivialises real-world issues to score cheap points against fictional characters.
Equating the survival of a teenage survivor to the restoration of a fascist house or neo-Nazi power fantasy when such designations do not exist in the world of ice and fire is strange behaviour. Saying that the teenage survivor will eventually be manipulated and raped (again) before ending up dead on her manipulator's blade is also strange behaviour.
Dismissing the horrors of colonialism, especially when the text shows you that the involved parties are still affected by it, is not normal and often veers into real-world imperialism apologia. While criticism and analysis of characters and their actions are valid and even encouraged, it is essential that we do not resort to sweeping generalisations about other people and that we keep criticisms of characters grounded in the text.
[1]
Ooooooh, I am the last of the giants, my people are gone from the earth.
The last of the great mountain giants, who ruled all the world at my birth
Oh, the smallfolk have stolen my forests, they’ve stolen my rivers and hills.
And they’ve built a great wall through my valleys, and fished all the fish from my rills
In stone halls they burn their great fires, in stone halls they forge their sharp spears.
Whilst I walk alone in the mountains, with no true companion but tears.
They hunt me with dogs in the daylight, they hunt me with torches by night.
For these men who are small can never stand tall, whilst giants still walk in the light.
Oooooooh, I am the LAST of the giants, so learn well the words of my song.
For when I am gone the singing will fade, and the silence shall last long and long.

So, about Sansa's name origins, I mentioned the book "The Slayer of Souls" by Robert W. Chambers the other day.
This isn't something new, but I think we should talk more about it.
GRRM has paid tribute to Robert W. Chambers by naming some places and characters in ASOIAF:
Tumblr media
[Source]
~~~
youtube
~~~
Carcosa is a fictional land that first appeared in Bierce's 1886 story "An Inhabitant of Carcosa" (included in this collection), and later is appeared Robert W. Chambers's The King in Yellow. It has since been usedby many other fantasy and horror writers and poets including H. P. Lovecraft, Joseph S. Pulver, John Scott Tynes, George R.R. Martin, and many more. Carcosa has even been used as a location in the HBO's True Detective and Netflix's The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. [Source]
~~~
But apart from Carcosa and the Yellow Emperor, maybe there's something else that GRRM took from Robert W. Chambers works to put it in ASOIAF.
Indeed, Robert W. Chambers's "The Slayer of Souls" has a chapter and a character called Sansa:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
~~~
Robert W. Chambers's Sansa is not exactly similar to ASOIAF Sansa; in fact, I found the character close to Melisandre. But the thing is, that maybe, this character is the origin of ASOIAF Sansa's name.
And the title of book "The Slayer of Souls," reminds me of this:
I dreamt of a maid at a feast with purple serpents in her hair, venom dripping from their fangs. And later I dreamt that maid again, slaying a savage giant in a castle built of snow. —A Storm of Swords - Arya VIII
There's something so satisfying in finding more Sansa & Slayer associations ❤️

Asking for both writing my own stories and also special interest: what are some of the best sources you’ve found for more obscure dragons? I’ve studied so much dragon folklore that it’s been getting really difficult to find new stuff…
So for very obscure things, asking people from other countries is the best bet - folklore, lore from the folk, means asking folk. Sometimes people have access to books with no English translation with local folklore, sometimes there are stories passed by word-of-mouth ("our town has a local legend about a dragon"). It's not a peer reviewed academic textbook, but asking questions will get you some obscure dragons! The internet means you can ask people all over the world :)
Second bit of advice; GET CURIOUS! Photos of statues of dragons often have a story behind them. Is this a statue of Saint George and the Dragon as an allegory on a World War 2 monument, or is this Vahagn the Dragon Slayer showing off local legends and heritage? Is this 'made in Indonesia wooden charm' linked to more Indonesian mythology or just something for tourists? A lot of statues and artifacts can be connected to mythology too!
Third bit of advice; keep an open mind on definitions of dragons and the language used to describe dragons: searching '[country] dragon mythology' into a search engine turns up fewer results than '[country] serpent mythology', and the best results are usually '[country] [local word for serpent/dragon] mythology'.
Finally, region-specific dragon folklore is easiest to find in region-specific sources: a book like an Encyclopedia of Russian & Slavic Myth and Legend by Mike Dixon-Kennedy will have more highly specific Russian and Slavic dragons than a book focused solely on dragons. To learn more about dragons you really have to generalize and read about mythology as a whole!
For a more concrete answer:
Giants, Monsters and Dragons by Carol Rose, as this has a themed index section where you can look up things like 'wolf monsters' or 'things that drink blood', so obviously has a 'dragon' and 'serpent' index section too
Te Ara online encyclopedia is good for Aotearoan/New Zealand folklore: https://teara.govt.nz/en/taniwha
Native Languages website for Native American Folklore is pretty great: http://www.native-languages.org/legends-serpents.htm
A Book of Creatures website from @a-book-of-creatures has a source list on each entry (reading list for learning even more folklore!) and an extensive tagging and organizational system.

Declan Mulholland was hired to play Jabba the Hutt in The Empire Strikes Back. He did a scene with Harrison Ford, complete with costuming and set. As it turns out, George Lucas was unsure how he was going to portray Jabba. He really didn't want a human to play him, he thought he would replace Declan in the scene with a stop-action animated Jabba. In the end he cut this scene and used a giant slug-like puppet as Jabba. Some say that Lucas did initially plan to have Declan play Jabba after William Hootkins turned down the role, but it wasn't working out with Declan.

That one is in Danger, So This one has awoken...
So i figured I'd cash in some of my street cred as #TLOUBestie of @justagalwhowrites and post my playlist here. Making playlists is a bit of an artistic hobby of mine, I used to DJ for an internet radio station in the more wild west era of internet forums before social media. I really enjoy putting together music that vibes with itself and that transitions well.
Anyways, this being my art blog it seems like the prime place to lay out my thoughts.
So! This concept had been in my mind for some time, but when Kit told me she was writing the hospital scene of #Lavender, as her muse, I decided to put this together for the occasion.
All the songs in the playlist can really serve to fit anywhere in the violent protector narrative, its designed to make a continuous loop, but here Im going to try and paint but a single, generic way of experiencing the playlist, if one is in need of some inspiration.
The playlist
Tumblr media
1: I.Dogma
■The track: OKAY BEAR WITH ME. Pretend youve never heard of the famous video game DOOM or its excellent 2016 remake. This track still has some powerful ambience and chilling voice work. For the sake of our story well take this completely out of context and adopt DOOM SLAYER for our subject.
●The Concept: So there is a being. Its violence and deeds are legendary, enough so that the history of its actions are recorded and passed down amongst others with whispers of fear. The terror people with knowledge of this being have is matched only by their reverence for what it accomplished. The Doomslayer.
2: The End is the Beginning is the End
■The Track: okay so... ugh. I hate this version of the song.
This song was originally written about Batman for the ill fates early 2000s Shumaker version of the film with primetime-medical-drama-star George Clooney... it was pretty bad. Uma Thurman was the key preformance in that film
I digress, ive had the original in my music catalouge for some time and I love it. It has a heavy, frantic, snare heavy rock beat layered with twisting guitar chorsa, and haunting vocals singing about some legendary weirdo trying to change a world it hates.
BUT THAT VERSION ISNT AVAILABLE ON SPOTIFY. 😤😤
The version on spotify sounds like their grandma bought them a distortion pedal for the first time. Im guessing its licensing issues but still, not my fav.
●The Concept: Here we have the being as remembered by legend. The stories people tell, the traumas others remember. The Doom Slayer is larger than life, an inspiration to some and a warning to others. To believe his existence by the tales of those who know of him one might almost think the doom slayer a lively one, capable of anything.
3. The Beginning is the End is the Beginning
■The Track: The yang to the ying of these songs here we have the same or similar lyrics... but drawn out into a sluggish, desperate, cynical tone. There is an air of dread in the sounds and low frequencies of this piece. The vocals are almost sinister in nature as if making fun of the subject of the song.
●The Concept: Here we have the reality of the legend. The stories arent false persay, maybe a bit embellished. But the reality is the Doom Slayer lives a life of silent suffering, having entered a state torpor for whatever reason. There is currently balance and they dont think, simply idle in their sludge of an existence. Perhaps the giant sleeps beneath mountains or the dragon in a volcano, maybe a legendary killer lives a quiet life of smuggling and emotionlessly burning the bodies of euthanized children... days only seperated by drug induced nights of dreamless sleep.
Tumblr media
Whatever the circumstance its beloved is not with it and not within reach. The quiet acceptance fills its life with a void, but this void balances the fire asleep within.
4: Counting Bodies Like Sheep to the Rhythm of the War Drums
■The Track: An acid bath of sounds and beats that build on top of each other with a chaotic and violent sound. Dread and fear become present in the ominous marching sound of the melody as a sweet voice begins singing sinister reasaurances of ownership and protection. Its clear the voice is passionate about its care of the subject, but its motives are questionable. This isnt a song about the healthy kind of protection, its the kind of protection that doesnt ask the protectee if they want to be protected.
●The Concept: The balance is broken.
Perhaps it was a flood of memories. Perhaps a rumor of the beloveds location. Perhaps another who is like the beloved, but is not, is thrust into the arms of the doom slayer. Maybe even there is a distant cry for help... real or imagined.
Whatever the reason, there is an awakening. A growing pulse, the fanning flames, the start of an avalanche.
5. Betrayal/Forgiveness
■The Track: Apocalyptica is a electric string quartet that does a lot of covers of death metal songs, with a focus on melody and showing off the actual complexity of the music. This track, is hard to describe. It makes me imagine two Bucks fighting with their antlers, ant colonies going to war, lions hunting... there is fury and power. In the controlled chaos order emerges in a raspy melody laid amongst the sounds of ripping and tearing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
●The Concept: In the time spent in Torpor confines have grown around the being. Perhaps its the mountains of stone and vines, layers of obsidian hardnened atop. Maybe our doom slayer is in a city or a facility, imprisoned or exiled. Wherever they are they are not free to pursue their beloved, and so there is a purging.
Tragically in this stage it may not be the ones who deserve it who feel the wrath of the doom slayer simply being in the way at the wrong time. Nevertheless the way is opened and perhaps there is mourning, but in the end there is nothing that can contain this one when its beloved is in danger.
6: One Way Or Another
■The Track: The original is such a catchy, poppy, almost sarcastic hit that its easy to not concider what the songs about. But slow it down? Drop the key to a minor and give it that thriller movie trailer sound? The songs meaning becomes much creepier.
Tumblr media
●The Concept: Awoken and no longer restrained there is a calm in the storm. The being takes a moment to reaffirm its intents and desires. Its one purpose renewed fills its being and it prepares internally, fully dedicating its entire existence to the one thing that still makes it burn.
7: Chokka
■The Track: More Apocalyptica, borrowing on the same kind of tense sounds theyre so good at making with an electric cello.
Tumblr media
The song has a sense foreboding about it layered with a high pitched piano riff. It manages to say so much without a single word and its beautiful for what it does.
●The Concept: The hunt begins. The doomslayer sets out after whatever awokened it, following a lead, returning to a location, listening to the cries. Whoever you are, wherever you are... it is coming for you. You have taken the beloved, you have harmed the beloved... you are a threat to the beloved. It will find the information, it will believe you when you scream out what it wants to hear. Closer and closer it nears with the first targets if its ire in sight.
8. Die MF Die
■The Track: Ugh. I wish I had better things to say about this track. It was so fucking popular in the military, every fucking daddy issue, toxic masculinity, overcompensating, gun toting, proud boy, soldier cuck wanted to play this song as they rolles out the gate to live out their murdee fantasies.
That aside, the song does a decent job capturing the almost... joyful... demeanor of a predator who has caught its quarry.
Tumblr media
●The Concept: The first real conflict. Whatever our being has been hunting it has found a quarry. This is the time for violence and the being is intimately familiar with the process.
9. Dirt Room
■The Track: Blue October who hurt you? This song feels so personal to me. When I listen to it I almost feel bad, like im witnessing something intimate such as seeing somebody else in a hard therapy session.
This songs overall story is a revenge fantasy about burying somebody alive. Id complement the metaphors in this song but, ahhhh Im fairly certain everything said is quite literal.
●The Concept: Theres more to our being than unkempt violence. Information is valuable and will be the way to the beloved. Here we find the insane mind of the doom slayer open and his hate laid bare like a set of tools working at the next barrier lying between them and their goal. May god have mercy on those in its path who survive the fight to be questioned by the being.
10: The Only Thing They Fear is You
■The Track: Spotify licensing agreements strike again. The only thing available on spotify are shittty covers. And sure while they do a good job of playing the song on guitar the problem is the original is preformed by a computer. It blends sounds not possible with acoustic instruments.
I fucking love the original so much. Some of the heaviest, intense, melodic, acid rock tracks ive ever heard. The only version that truly does this song justice is the original:
youtube
●The Concept: The climax of the encounter so to speak. The search is over and the beloved has been found. There are no more questions as to where it needs to go, there is only the question of what is in its way, and the answer the being brings is incredible violence. They will resist and fight with all their might, but ultimately they are all aware of the fulity of their efforts and when the mist of blood settles there is only the open path of the doom slayer as it continues forward, unyieilding.
11: Light the City Up
■The Track: You know theres not a whole lot of tracks i can find that really embody the idea "Id burn down the whole city to keep you safe" but this song comes pretty close.
Fun fact, this song isnt on the soundtrack for Spiderman:Across the Universe because production of that movie was a mess, but this is the song played in the giant chase sequence in the spider HQ between a the different spidermen
Tumblr media
●The Concept: The story blurs in the blood lust as the being continues his conquest burning down everything in its path. There is literally nothing it wouldnt destroy to keep the one it loves safe and those still foolish enough to stop it begin to learn why the legends were written in the first place.
Here the brush strokes of my story grow broader as therea less form to the songs and their intent. The story begins to swing more wildly in its respective directions as the being desperation grows with the beloved just outside of his grip.
12. Stompbox
■The Track: You can rely on the Qemists to give you some good frantic chase music. This track has no vocals aside from one desperate scream thats overlaid in a few spaces. Still this song gives me the feel of a hostile confrontation at high intensity.
●The Concept: The home stretch. The recovery of the beloved. Reaching the goal. The accumulates momentum of our being finally reaches its moment of critical mass and barrels through the finish line. Perhaps this the final guard, the boss of the ememies... maybe its a final test or a desperate dash to saftey. Whatever it is, it does not stop the being.
13. Tension 2
■The Track: I love me some blue man group. Following the flow of chase music this track pulls out all the stops in portraying anxiety inducing stress and tension. Beats of different speeds overlaid with fast paced bass rhythms blends with the patter of drums.
●The concept: Take the money and run. The being has what it came for. The beloved is honored, the balance is restored... but now is the time to get out. Get the beloved safe. Now is the time to avoid the crashing waves of consequences that swing in from all sides to try and once again seperate what has been rejoined.
14: Rip and Tear
■The Track: More acid rock from Mick Gordon. Another one of those songs that manages to push such vvid imagery without ever saying a word. Theres a confidence in the sound of this track, but also an underlying doubt and anxiety. High pitched siren like sounds mix with a heartbeat like pattern.
●The Concept: Gutteral tones convey the desperate and intense violence of fighting with every once of being. Tooth, nail, knife, fist and spit, this is the last stand of a cornered animal. The full fury of the legend is brought forth in events which new mythologys will be written about by whats left of those close enough to behold its power.
15: Blahhhh blah blah. "Stone Men Song"
■The Track: So this is the end credits song that plays after Jorah and Tyrion are jumped by the stone men and Tyrion appears to sink into the depths of the river, his hands bound. The screen cuts to black and this song plays.
Tumblr media
To me it conveys the horror of a situation you cant control and that has gone horribly wrong.
●The Concept: This is not a comedy but a tragedy. Despite whatever best efforts and good intentions of the being, it finds itself in a situation it cannot control. The consequences of its actions have accumulated to a point tbhat in its horror it finds itself ripped from its goals.
16: Ebla
■The Track: A fusion blend of rock beats with synthetic classical overlays and a choir singing in latin. Its not quite hopeful but not quite defeated. Its a somber song that echoes the beauty of love that can create such violence as well as a reminder of its costs.
Tumblr media
●The Concept: The ode to the doomslayer. Whatever end its story met, if an end at all and not simply the start of the next cycle, it now once again rests in silent suffering. Its purpose fuffilled and perhaps its time cut short, for whatever reason this chapter ends. The night grows silent and the only light is the glow of the smoldering ruins the doomslayer has left in its wake.

Upcoming Southpark Sequel to the Worldwide Privacy Tour Coming in 2024 by u/AM_Rike
Upcoming Southpark Sequel to the Worldwide Privacy Tour Coming in 2024 On this video, George the Giant Slayer reviews what we will allegedly see in the upcoming 2024 season of Southpark. He reports that much of the 2024 season will be spent roasting Hollywood. At about the 8th minute he says, “Good news is there is a very strong rumor that the new season of Southpark in 2024 is going to unleash the sequel to Meghan’s Worldwide Privacy Tour”. He also takes a few brief digs at Harry in the vid. George does a lot of entertainment based reporting and does seem to get some accurate scoops. After seeing Harry swanning around in my state pretending he’s at some royal event, I needed to hear news like this. For many, especially Zoomers, it’s the only way they hear the truth about those two. I figured other sinners could use the pick me up as well. Happy Monday fellow sinners! https://youtu.be/zbDYSuUf5S4?si=E9lxDJN1eSckUBz1 post link: https://ift.tt/0it1Q7G author: AM_Rike submitted: October 23, 2023 at 10:17AM via SaintMeghanMarkle on Reddit

During the battle beneath the Wall, Ser Godry Farring had slain a fleeing giant, pounding after him on horseback and driving a lance through his back, then dismounting to hack off the creature’s pitiful small head. The queen’s men had taken to calling him Godry the Giantslayer. Jon remembered Ygritte, crying. I am the last of the giants.
“I use Longclaw when I must, ser.”
“How well, though?” Ser Godry drew his own blade. “Show us. I promise not to hurt you, lad.”
How kind of you. “Some other time, ser. I fear that I have other duties just now.”
“You fear. I see that.” Ser Godry grinned at his friends. “He fears,” he repeated, for the slow ones.
“You will excuse me.” Jon showed them his back. Jon, ADwD
--------
“You are refusing to obey my order?”
“You can stick your order up your bastard’s arse,” said Slynt, his jowls quivering. Alliser Thorne smiled a thin smile, his black eyes fixed on Jon. At another table, Godry the Giantslayer began to laugh. - Jon, ADwD
--------
Ser Godry gave a pull on the rope. The King-Beyond-the-Wall had no choice but to stumble after him, the rope choking off his words. When he lost his feet, Godry dragged him the rest of the way. Mance was bloody when the queen’s men half-shoved, half-carried him to the cage. A dozen men-at-arms heaved together to hoist him into the air. - Jon, ADwD
---------
Godry the Giantslayer guffawed. “I had forgotten that you northmen worship trees.”
“What sort of god lets himself be pissed upon by dogs?” asked Farring’s crony Clayton Suggs. - Jon, ADwD
---------
“Unless they die. Dead children come last everywhere.”
“Suggest that in the hearing of Mors Umber, Ser Godry, and you will learn more of death than you might wish.”
“I have slain a giant, boy. Why should I fear some flea-ridden north-man who paints one on his shield?”
“The giant was running away. Mors won’t be.” - Jon, ADwD
----------
“The boy has milkwater in his veins,” said Ser Godry the Giant-slayer.- Jon, ADwD
---------
The big knight named Ser Godry Farring led them. Godry the Giantslayer. A big name for a small man. Farring was broad-chested and well muscled under his plate and mail. He was also arrogant and vain, it seemed to Asha, hungry for glory, deaf to caution, a glutton for praise, and contemptuous of smallfolk, wolves, and women. In the last, he was not unlike his king. - Asha Greyjoy, The King’s Prize, ADwD
This Godrey fellow seems like a right arse. I can’t wait for him to meet his glorious ending à la Janos Slynt. GRRM excels so much at characters getting their just deserts and I know one is waiting for Godry Farring. There’s a reason we are getting so much of him being this obnoxious. And no doubt the guy loudly crowing about everyone else being cowards will be giving us a demonstration of true cowardice soon. Most probably in a Theon or Asha POV chapter.
Please George finish the book!

Here: There are many amazing analyses on the Netflix show but this is my favorite. Why? Because this young lady is from Britain and she is in fact black. So her insight is pretty spot on. She is also incredibly articulate and intelligent.
youtube
Then this is my second favorite MM analysts. All of her content is AMAZING. Worth to check
Also: Lelani of Barbados. (Those ladies are all from Britain/ The Commonwealth so I value their opinion more)
Worth to mention : According2Taz, George the Giant Slayer, Royal News Network and... of course... Shallon Lester.
youtube
How is this possible that there is so many videos debunking her lies but literally no one makes videos about "her truth"? With facts and everything. I still don't get it how people see her as a victim of anything.

Worthy Brief - September 17, 2024
Face your giants with new eyes!
Romans 8:31-32 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?
When Moses sent out the 12 spies to report on the condition of the land of “milk and honey”, ten of the spies brought back a bad report. They focused on the giants, and the great obstacles in their way. They walked with eyes set on the physical realm and said within themselves, “We are but grasshoppers in the sight of these giants!” [Numbers 13:28-33]
However, Joshua and Caleb came back with a different perspective. They didn’t ignore the giants or the obstacles or pretend they didn’t exist, but rather focused on their God who had performed miracles upon miracles, from the series of ten plagues to the parting of the Red Sea, to the miracle of “daily bread” – manna from heaven!
Giants, however large or dangerous they might be, would not prevent Israel from taking the land – at least not in the faith-filled opinion of Joshua or Caleb. If the God who had disarmed Pharaoh was for them, it was His enemies who should be trembling.
So it is with us! If there are “giants” everywhere – “fortified” strongholds – the enemy would love for us to focus on how insignificant and powerless we appear to be, but don't we also have God's miracles to look back on? Salvation from our sins, to begin with…But how many times has the Lord answered your prayers since then? We need more than ever to remember His grace and intervention in our lives. Those memories will inspire the faith to face the current giants and their apparent threats.
If God is for us, who can be against us?” It's not an idle word or an empty epithet. Our God really is a giant slayer. We only need to remember what He has done before to maintain faith in what He can and will do now.
Your family in the Lord with much agape love,
George, Baht Rivka, Obadiah and Elianna (Missouri) (Baltimore, Maryland)

The Job
Here it is! The first part of my Giant Slayer Dream AU!! Let me know what you guys think and feel free to send in some asks and such!
Warnings for fear, talks of death, mentions of blood, and language
Word Count ~ 1k
Dream was the best manhunter in the realm, his signature smiling mask and green cloak gaining his notoriety in any place he went. With such a reputation, he was overly confident, cocky to the point he’d rolled his eyes and laughed at the prospect of a giant.
His rival was considered to be a giant, and Dream had learned from his loss (though it was a close match) for his next hunt, rolling his eyes at the piglin hybrid’s victorious teasing. He’d taken down a 9 foot target just last week. That so called ‘giant’ was what made him the obvious choice to send after a giant that a fairly isolated village had sent word of.
There wasn’t much to go off of, just mentions of spotting a demonic looking giant on the edge of the village.
“Remember to gather intel when you get there.” Another manhunter called out after him as he headed out. “You don’t want to be caught off guard if you don’t have to be.”
Dream had agreed, but he rolled his eyes with a scoff as he turned away. He didn’t need that. He’d never needed any extra preparation, he was better than that.
So he just set off and travelled through the Nether to get there a bit faster, shifting his pack on his shoulder and keeping his enchanted netherite blade firmly in hand. All he stopped by the village to do was see what direction the giants had been spotted in, but the plains on one side versus a lush forest on the other made it clear enough where the giant might be hiding.
At the very least, if the giant wasn’t in the forest, Dream could find where it went to finish the job. Easy. Piece of cake.
It was only a bit after noon when Dream had entered the forest but it was slowly starting to get dark by the time he made any progress. He was sweating and panting slightly from exertion as he ran toward smoke in the distance. He huffed slightly.
The giant had lit a fire? Didn’t they know they were being hunted? Or was it just an idiot?
Dream decided he didn’t care, It would make it that much easier for him. He steeled himself and charged into the area, squinting his eyes a bit against the brightness of a large bonfire. He oriented himself quickly, scanning the area quickly and faltering as he spotted his target.
It was definitely demonic, true, with its white eyes, black skin, and horns under its red-trimmed cloak. But it was nothing like what Dream was expecting. He definitely understood why there had been so much panic over a giant because it was absolutely massive, maybe a good 70 feet tall or so.
Shit, he thought, shit, I’m not equipped for this what the fuck.
His brain buzzed with panic as the being finally noticed his presence, their eyes locking. The world fuzzed out for a moment and the world stood still. It was broken as the giant spoke.
“Um, hi there.” The voice was a bit higher pitched and definitely more nasally than Dream had been expecting, but the giant made no move to come closer. “Are you lost?”
Dream didn’t answer, just staring incredulously up at the giant. Did he not notice his signature mask? Maybe that meant he could make it out of this alive. Before he had the chance, two other giants emerged from a tent on the other side of the encampment.
“Bad? Who are you talking to?” An accented voice asked as another giant rubbed at his eyes under his white clout goggles. Another voice, a moment later, from one with fluffy black hair and a white bandana: “What’s the famous Dream doing all the way out here?”
Dream took a cautious step back at that, watching through his mask with a pooling feeling of dread in his stomach. He could clearly see the giant processing the situation, eyes flicking to his sword and then to his mask.
And suddenly it must have clicked, and there was a moment of pause.
And then a hand shot toward him and Dream sprang into action, running forward, toward the hand!? his mind screamed in protest. But it paid off as he narrowly avoided the hand and darted under the giant, hearing confused sputters that might have been funny if he wasn’t filled with so much adrenaline.
If he got a bit further, there was a gap between two massive bags that he could get between. Then he’d be back in the forest. He could hide, get away.
But then Clout Goggles placed a boot in front of that exit, nudging him with it and making him fall back, scrambling away from it and colliding with one of the bags. He looked up slowly, following three pairs of legs to three giant faces above him. They mostly looked, well, pissed, frankly.
But even without them being able to see his face, something must have given away how he was feeling because the demonic one hushed the one with the headband before he could say anything.
“C’mon Sappy Nappy, the muffin looks terrified.” His original target lowered himself to the ground, and Dream wished he could say he was wrong, that he wasn’t scared. But his body’s natural response was to shy away more. “It‘s okay, you can just calm down  and explain why you’re here, okay? I’m sure this is all a misunderstanding.”
And then clawed black hands were palm out, and Dream panicked. Looking back on it later, it was a dumb reaction, but it was also the fighting part of him. So, at the movement, Dream slashed his enchanted blade, the netherite cutting easily through the flesh with a faint sizzling sound. It coated the blade with a sheen of dark blood, a cry of pain erupting from the giant.
Shouts from the giants made Dream’s head pound from the noise and he knew, in that moment, that was was, quite plainly, absolutely fucked.
