Even someone as great as the White Wolf has his moments. He hadn't expected there to be so many of them, they do not usually hunt in packs, it's not like the creatures that had gotten the drop on him.

He can't even protest as he's scooped up by Regis, the Wolf does not have the energy or the full awareness to do so. He finds himself dizzy from blood loss and the way he was scooped up, a groan falls from his lips - a sign he is alive at least.

Claw like gashes cover the front of Geralt's chest. If he had a Swallow potion, he would not be in this state, but the damn things knocked it out of his hands and the potion bottles broke open.

They are now dead but Geralt had barely made it out alive. Knowing his dear friend is nearby, there is no one better to help him recover than Regis.

The question barely registers, he's not sure he could explain it if he tried, so instead he grunts as he's laid upon the bed. A single curse from the pain later and finally cat-eyes open to look at his friend who is set to work on his injuries.

"Swallow potion." Another groan, just talking hurts like hell. "Do you know how to make one?" If not, simple medical attention will do but Swallow does the job far quicker for a Witcher.

Fingertips ghosting so carefully over scars may or may have not caused goosebumps on Geralt's skin, the way he leans into the touch will go utterly denied.

Once upon a time, he would have shoved the bard way but now? He welcomes the touch.

There are a few new scars on his body, another to add to a long list of scars he will no doubt eventually have. This one is a claw-like gash across his abdomen, courtesy of a pack of nekkers.

Tiny they may be, but they are vicious little things. If one is not careful, they can overwhelm, which is how Geralt ended up with these scars before he could get the upper hand.

"Mm. A pack of nekkers. Annoying little shits." He says, knowing that Jaskier must be curious about the various new scars that are across his body. Has he ever told Jaskier what any of his scars are from?

Well, if he asks, he does not mind telling. Every scar tells a story, but he feels no need to bring them forth if Jaskier does not ask.

Way late to the party but I am still PISSED about how badly Eskel was both done dirty and absolutely wasted as a character in Netflix’s Witcher. They also seemed to realize that they forgot(for non-book readers) to show just HOW MUCH Eskel meant to Geralt so they also threw in that little “flashback” which also did nothing.

Will I ever stop being salty as fuck about that?

Nope. Not a chance.

That killed the show for me. That and how crappy Jaskier is also handled. I didn’t bother with season three.

@herosway sent WOUND ]:          upon noticing a recent injury on the receiver’s person, the sender carefully moves closer, running a thumb (or hand) across the wound in a gentle, troubled manner.

Another injury to add to the long list of injuries in his life. If he's lucky, it won't scar. Not that he minds another scar, just tack it on with the rest of them. Scars are not something Geralt is bothered by. Why would a proud warrior be anything other than content with the scars he wears?

Even the one spanning over and under his eye is of no bother to him. This one will not be either but it is a shallow enough cut upon his chest that Geralt doubts it will scar.

He hardly reacts when Impa brushes her thumb across the gash that is settled above his heart. There is only a grunt of discomfort before he meets her gaze with his own feline gaze. "It's nothing. You worry far too much."

For a moment, Geralt hesitates to find the right words to say. He wants to say that isn't true but they both know it is. He can not belong to anyone, not completely. He is a Witcher, he belongs on the Path, not tied down no matter how much they like to play pretend.

But he can promise her one thing, at the very least. There are parts of him that do belong to her. Parts of him that will never belong to another for as long as he will live.

"My heart is yours." Geralt settles on saying. It's true, his heart has belonged to her from the moment he set his eyes upon her. That'll have to be enough. "In this moment, I'm yours."
