Incorrect SWTOR quote:
Theron: What’s that? Lana: It’s my disguise. Theron: But I can see your face. Lana: Not when I do this (holds scarf over face).

I’m always glad to see that we of Tumblr SWTOR players are united in our hatred of one Skadge.

My #1 post of 2022
It’s always weird to me when I see someone talking about PC “traitors” to the Empire.
The Inquisitor who started as a slave.
The Agent who had their mind altered without their knowledge.
The Warrior whose master tried to have them killed, possibly getting their own romantic interest to attempt it.
The Empire betrayed me first. I make no apologies for turning on them.
I don’t recall the Empire betraying the Bounty Hunter, but they’re an outsider to begin with, so it isn’t betrayal, anyway. I could easily be forgetting something.

ikarralives replied to your post: “the sith, and especially the dark council, are ridiculously out of...”:
I feel like because the PC meets so many force users in the game people forget that there aren't actually very many in the general population; if there were then the Empire's whole "super special ruling Sith" classism wouldn't work.
oh definitely. though i think that having playable force users also really doesn’t help at all in that regard. i never played it myself but i know that in swg, when it initially launched, players couldn’t be force users (i mean, specifically jedi, since swg was post-ot), and the Jedi(tm) were appropriately mythic. but as soon as the players can be a jedi (or a sith), and the fewer barriers there are to that happening, the more common they’ll be among the playerbase. i know that swg and swtor aren’t really comparable, in that swg was a sandbox whereas swtor is a themepark. but all the same, if you removed the force-user class stories/force users as classes, most players would run across maybe a handful of Force-using NPCs during their time, and the non-class stories would also probably not focus nearly as much on force users.
but you also get the problem where... i don’t recall the exact stats off the top of my head, but... the clear majority of characters (as in, toons rolled by players) in swtor are either sith or jedi - something like 55-60%, so like... there’s this perception in certain parts of the playerbase that this is a good representation of what the general population of the gffa would be, and it’s... really not. even in republic space, force users would be rare and largely mythic beings, with most people even on coruscant having never seen a jedi, never mind met one. but players only see that about half the people they meet are force classes, and never bother to interrogate why that is or try to understand that yeah, but the force classes occupy a very small, very privileged part of their respective social structures.
