Happy New Year🍾🎊🎊‼️‼️‼️
For ur event - number 40 for Reiji and Gandhi
a fun number 40 + reiji nd ghandi
Tumblr media
"I WAS POWERLESS, USED TO LOSE EVERY FIGHT!"
situated behind you, reiji contoured his hands to fit your hips as he turned your body. trailing up to your own hands, he squeezes them into a fist. his voice echoes in your ear, "like this. that's better."
ghandi clicks his tongue as he watches you both. "we're supposed to be helping name train, not copping a feel."
"i am helping!"
"...kind of," you giggle out. once reiji is a safe distance away, you shoot out your hand and foot. it feels harsh ; violent to imagine hitting someone. it's for your own good, ghandi said. so, you stuck to it. you drop your limbs, "better?"
ghandi has one hand under his chin as he looks over your form. he nods, "pretty good. better than before."
"break time!" reiji glomps you, his back attaching itself to your chest. he nuzzles his nose into your neck with a sigh. "let's not push you too hard, hm?"
you let him press close, eyeing ghandi as he walks up to you. "i don't mind to keep going."
reiji glares at the side of your head, "no."
"no," ghandi echoes as he wraps his arms around your waist.
you deadpan, sandwiched between them. "'kay, break time, then."

headcanons for Ghandi and Kohei doing skincare with their s/o
This was requested by someone in my comments, I'm Sorry I can't seem to tag you :( I hope you like it never the less
Warnings: None really, other than using gender neutral stuff, lots of fluff.
~~~~~~~~
Gandhi and his S/O doing skin care:
he acts like he hates it when in public but alone he loves it
wants the hello kitty facemask that smells like strawberries
He lets his partner paint his nails with clear nail polish to make them shiny
he lets his s/o braid his hair to keep it out of the way and secretly loves it
paints your nails, not the best but he makes a good effort
likes the scented candles you lit and thinks it makes the house smell warm
will make it a weakly thing
Kohei Amagai:
Grumbles when he has to buy the home self care things you requested he pick up
secretly wants to try it but would never say it to anyone
drags his feet on letting you do a facial on him
gives in to the puppy eyes and pleads for him to let you do it
Only lets you paint his nails black
wants to eat the entire time to avoid getting the face masks done
still ends up with a clay mask on his face and whines that it hurts
secretly loves it because you are doting on him and spending time with him
ends up loving how soft his face is
wants to do it again in secret
▬ι══════ﺤ Sylwia Wrona
COMMON MISCONCEPTIONS
I suppose the main one I've encountered is that Sylwia is a "bitch" rather than a shrewd muse of extremes. Something along the lines of expecting a similar reaction to other muns / muses to a given situation and being surprised when Sylwia is unsympathetic to more of the same. Online, all the same trends cycle over time, and society is steadily getting worse . . . She'll feel differently when she sees something different.
AN IMPORTANT HEADCANON
I try to strike a balance in my writing, but keep in mind when your muses are interacting with Sylwia that she had a STRONG addiction to her phone. It's the one habit she absolutely cannot kick, so unless your muse has dragged Sylwia outside and just so happens to be holding onto her phone, the likelihood that she's looking at a screen while talking to you is high! And I promise she's paying attention, and she is engaged! Mostly. She's just . . . also scrolling. And doing upkeep on her forums. And looking up random shit. She'll show you a meme every now and then!
A USELESS HEADCANON
With some possible exceptions in the animated world, Sylwia absolutely despises sitcoms. Humanity it bad enough, must the downtime entertainment be filled with all of its worst aspects? Cruelty, stupidity, empty romantic plots and just most of the characters being annoying! At least with cartoons they don't look real. Even there, small doses is a key phrase.
POTENTIAL TRIGGERS
Depression, suicide, dissociation, self harm, social anxiety, insecurity, manipulation / possessiveness, death, and some neglect growing up. I would also note that while she can be attracted to anyone, her circumstances growing up were rather conservative so she is rather cautious on that front.
SOMETHING YOU ENJOY ABOUT (WRITING) THEM
God, I love writing Sylwia when she's in love. She's so sweet and sentimental and vulnerable in ways she would never credit herself with. I think she'll always blame herself for Dominik, and she'll probably always think that the world wasn't made for love, but that doesn't mean she doesn't hold so much of it in her heart. It's truly a pleasure.
SOMETHING YOU WANT OTHERS TO KNOW BEFORE WRITING WITH THEM
She's going to tell your muse to leave, time and time again. It's nothing personal most of the time, she just gets overwhelmed with social interaction and deals with it the only way she knows how.
▬ι══════ﺤ Absinthe Moon
COMMON MISCONCEPTIONS
Absinthe can fall in love so to speak. This one surprised me as well. That being said, any such relationships will rely on distance, mutual toxicity, and sex. Marriage and that whole apple pie thing is completely out of the cards, because as soon as it gets serious, Absinthe goes on guard- and the second there's a fight and things get emotional Absinthe will cut your muse out and there will be no return. Haven't found a work-around for that. Absinthe cuts out from all threads and it's . . . something. And for all of Absinthe's academic / professional pursuits, they actually have quite a bit of downtime in their life. Naps, staring at walls, whatever 'nothing' catches their fancy. Humans aren't meant to run at 110% all the time, and moreover, they don't want to.
AN IMPORTANT HEADCANON
While Absinthe is a very violent person personally, with no desire to change that, they are very receptive to pacifism. There's a catch though- Because Absinthe's read it all, Ghandi, King, the Quakers and the Shakers- and if you aren't doing pacifism properly, if you're just using it as an excuse to act like an asshole without getting consequences, then there will be hell to pay. If pacifism is truly your thing though, and you are trying your kindest and hardest in the world, more power to you! (No one will hurt you, not for the short time they're around. It's not their path, but why not chase utopia?)
A USELESS HEADCANON
Probably useless in the sense that I haven't gotten much of a chance to explore this side to them, but the vast amount of time an resources they've put into soaps, beauty products, and sewing! Work is a practical matter and unfortunately, can end out with a very masculine presentation, but I imagine in their daily life they put a huge amount of effort into androgyny. In being very visibly nonbinary and queer! It's a huge part of who they are.
POTENTIAL TRIGGERS
Violence, murder, weapons, crimes, drugs and so on.
SOMETHING YOU ENJOY ABOUT (WRITING) THEM
I absolutely adore writing their intellectual side. They're extremely intellectual, experienced, and in this stage of their life, the narrative demands success. It's fun to pit against others and a huge learning curve personally depending on where the thread is going!
SOMETHING YOU WANT OTHERS TO KNOW BEFORE WRITING WITH THEM
Absinthe is one of my favorites around here, but the build-up and appeal takes a long time to come through. They're a rather guarded character who operates under a general code of, 'Don't talk to anyone' to avoid trouble. So even if their character doesn't appeal to you in the moment, please, stick around. Wait for the day when it all clicks! because that's been my experience before and I happen to think it's worth the wait!
Your tags on that arundhati roy post are absolutely unbelievable. “Sometimes violence is the answer actually.” Violence is the answer when children are burned and murdered in their beds? When elderly civilians are shot and then used as background props for selfies from “freedom fighters”? When parents are murdered in front of their children? Is that the kind of answer you think is justified?
Anon, I'm going to assume this ask was sent under the impulse of strong emotion, okay?
Because you completely missed both the point of the post (that non-violent solutions are not always realistically usable by the people fighting against their oppression or destruction), the part where I said you should try non-violent solutions first, and the fact that a one sentence tag does not constitute a nuanced view of someone's position.
No, the things you describe are not acceptable or defensible. Which I'm sure you knew and I suspect you picked as examples specifically for the purpose of making me feel too ashamed to defend myself. It's okay, we're not always at our best when we react impulsively.
However. Pacifism is a doctrine that essentially says no one should use violence ever for any reason, and I disagree with that. When an oppressive force or a person with horrible intentions brings violence to you, I don't think you should be judged for answering that violence.
Is it always the best solution? Definitely not. Does it solve problems long term? No. I genuinely don't think it does. But also, I don't think it's always possible to respond without violence. If someone decides to beat you up, asking them to leave politely isn't going to get them to leave you alone. Fighting back might. When an army comes into your country or region because someone somewhere decided people like you didn't deserve to exist and your people should be eradicated, asking them to stop politely won't work, and asking or hoping other countries to intervene on your behalf might not work, and if it does will likely take a while, during which more of your people will die, more of your culture will be destroyed, more of your family will suffer.
(See: Palestine right now, see the Jews of Europe during WW2, see the queer population of Chechnya since 2017, see basically every genocide ever.)
So no, of course not, the things you describe are not okay. But would you blame a man who killed the ones trying to murder his son? Would you blame a woman for killing the people who try to murder and rape her? Would you blame the population or a region being invaded for sending homemade bombs on the tanks coming in to raze their homes? I don't know that I would.
Again, yes, try non violent solution first. Yes, privilege diplomacy as much as possible, because that is how you reach long term solutions and how you achieve durable stability, social improvement and peace. But. Democracy works slowly, and sometimes answering violence with violence is the only way to survive until democracy is done doing its job, and while I hope I and the people I love never have to make that choice, I can't and won't blame the people who chose violence when they're forced to pick between that and death.
TL;DR: Using violence to hurt people and using violence to defend yourself ore those you love are not the same thing and I think acting like they are or like we can have a blanket position towards the use of violence is never going to work. Mostly because it leads to people saying things like 'the jews in WW2 shouldn't have rebelled against the Nazis' (looking at u, Ghandi) or 'Hamas is good, actually' both of which are absolute dumpster fires of a take and unfortunately not alone in the realm of horrible opinions.
Don Donoher: Postscript
On Friday April 12, 2024, Donald J. Donoher -- clinging to the distinction of being the oldest living coach to have taken a team to a Final Four -- passed away peacefully at the age of 92.  For a life well-traveled, well-fought, and his own special brew of fire, brimstone, and class, "Mick" has taken his final shot among the Flyer mortals and solidified his place on campus as a Greek-like figure from the past that will never stray too far from any subsequent generation's present.  Perhaps no other personality in nearly 175 years of the University of Dayton commanded so much respect and attention while at the same time showering the city of Dayton with untold treasure.  He provided UD and the Gem City an embarrassment of riches that reached well beyond his 437-275 record, NCAA success, ambassadorship, and stewardship to teaching old kids how to be young men. In athletics, you never want to follow the GOAT. That means you don't want to be the guy that replaces Michael Jordan or Adolph Rupp. Instead, you want to be the guy that replaces the guy that replaced Jordan and Rupp.  Donoher never had that luxury.  Playing under Tom Blackburn and then coaching next to him after a post-graduation stint in the US Army, it might have been fate alone that put him there; not even Blackburn himself knew his end was as near as it was until it was too late to do anything about it.  Donoher came out of the bullpen and replaced the man everyone felt was irreplaceable.  The easiest thing to do was to emulate his predecessor, but Don Donoher never played the part.  From start to finish, Mick never tried to be the next Tom Blackburn; the best version of himself was all he would ultimately promise.  Some of Tom's touches tagged along of course, but Don put his own unique stamp on everything he did.  Abrasive and demanding one minute, then as soft and gentlemanly as Arnold Palmer the next.  Every man has his faults and he lugged his own share, but things had to be done a certain way: the right way, the wrong way, or Don Donoher's way.  As a coach he was often difficult to please and hard to play for, but as a man and a mentor, few ever deserted him.  I think part of that loyalty fell upon his commitment to fairness -- nearly everyone that played for Don Donoher more or less got what they deserved. He offered no quarter to HS prep stars, upperclassmen, captains, rural farm boys, or urban minorities; if Mick thought you could help UD win, the minutes were doled out.  If you were useless however, you picked splinters for three or four seasons. Could a guy like Donoher coach in today's climate?  Legendary Indiana head coach Bob Knight was one of Don's closest friends and coaching admirers.  In some ways they were identical twins. In other ways, as distant as Ghandi and Napoleon.  Both ended up in the College Basketball Hall of Fame.  It's probably best to leave Donoher's protocols and achievements to the timestamp they occurred -- not because of animosity but because his true essence was partly engineered by the zeitgeist.  Wilt Chamberlain cannot be compared to Michael Jordan for the same reasons. Fans old enough to remember the Donoher coaching era invariably have their own favorite memories.  Many of us enjoyed the Sunday morning Don Donoher Show on WHIO Channel 7 during the basketball season.  My favorite memory of the ol' ball coach was his self-deprecating humility.  He often said, "We might win tonight if I don't screw it up."  Mick was a man that understood basketball was still a business and fans (and athletic directors) were often fickle: the genius doing his Ouija board magic in a Flyer win, and the overpaid  bonehead after a Flyer loss.  Not much has changed. His friendship with coaching legends like Ray Meyer were moments where the soft side of Don often gushed out.  The most tender of those soft spots was reserved for his wife Sonia. His wife of 66 years, she passed away in 2020 and many close acquaintances believe it was a loss Don never fully reconciled. Flyer fans must now reconcile the loss of Don himself and put the final capstone on his life.  He meant different things to different people, but the common thread was simple: he was one of us.  He sat in the same classrooms, walked the same halls, and wore the same cap and gown.  He understood why everything mattered as much as it did and felt a calling and gratitude to his alma mater. Even when he had offers to coach elsewhere he ultimately turned them down.  The ending of his Flyer coaching career remains muddy and convoluted.  It was a flashpoint in time when college basketball was changing and Dayton was not changing along with it.  Good, bad, or indifferent, Don never lived with bitterness or contempt and loved UD in his final breaths as much as he ever did as a player or coach. That's probably the final and most powerful lesson he leaves all of us: be thankful it happened at all, not sad it came to an end.  Goodbyes are never easy.  This 8-Part series was and remains a living archive to ease the pain.
