Here’s the new and improved Orochi High snaracter lineup! A few things have changed (They’re sneniors! O-Hi is in Snokyo now! There’s a new guy!), but for the most part, they’re the same old snaracters you fell in love(?) with seven years ago. Enjoy, and keep those snoots astute. The best is yet to come!

Truffle Amaguchi

Species: Ball Python (Silver Bullet Morph)

Length: 0.7 meters

Age: 18

Truffle Amaguchi is an ordinary girl starting her final year at Orochi High. She was born in Osnaka and moved with her mom and little brother to Snokyo two years ago.

Truffle is a romantic with very little real-life experience. She loves reading shoujo snanga, and has somewhat unrealistic expectations as a result. Her hobbies are reading, collecting bones and natural hisstory items, and going to the museum. Truffle does well in school, but has been struggling recently, putting her university hopes in jeopardy.

Truffle’s favorite snekcessory is a cute red bow with a mouse skull in the middle. She has a tiny kink on the tip of her tail.

Mochi Shinda

Species: Western Hognose (Wild Type)

Length: 0.5 meters

Age: 17

Mochi Shinda is a short Western hognose who was Truffle’s first friend at Orochi High. A mischievous prankster, she comes off as a bit insensitive but cares more than she lets on. She has been known to play dead to get out of unpleasant situations (like gym class).

Mochi enjoys cooking for her five younger sniblings and inventing new dessert recipes.

Mochi always wears a cool spiked taillet.

Marzipan Ono

Species: Burmese Python (Hypomelanistic Morph)

Length: 4.5 meters

Age: 18

Marzipan Ono is a big girl with big headboobs and an even bigger heart. Soft-spoken and shy, she does her best to stay out of the way but inadvertently causes accidents and injuries because of her size. Marzipan loves animals and has a pet bunny named Minchi. She volunteers at the local zoo. Her favorite animal to work with is Meg the giant ground sloth, who is currently pregnant and expecting a calf soon!

She wears a tiny pink bow on her tail at all times.

Atheris Hispida

Species: Hairy Bush Viper (Wild Type)

Length: 1 meter

Age: 18

The mysterious, venomous Atheris Hispida has always counted on his “tough guy��� status to keep sneople at tail’s length, but when Truffle stumbles (literally) upon his deepest secret, he fears his reputation is at stake!

He wears his tie loose because he thinks it makes him look cool (it does).

Nise Ashinashi

Species: “Kingsnake”

Length: 2 meters 

Age: 19

Not much is known about secretive new transfer snudent Nise Ashinashi. He moved to Snokyo from Nagasnaki and he comes from a wealthy kingsnake family, but that’s about it. Nise keeps his cards close to his…neck? Or is he more tail? He has a distrust bordering on prejudice towards venomous species, though he is warming up to Yakamashii. 

Whatever you do, don’t steal his beanie, no matter how tempting it is. Ever.

Yakamashii Ogoe

Species: Western Diamondback Rattlesnake (Wild Type)

Length: 1.2 meters

Age: 18

Loud, outgoing, and sometimes annoying, Yakamashii Ogoe is nevertheless Atheris’s closest friend. They grew up together in the same neighborhood and bonded over shared experiences (and tastes in video games).

Despite carrying a nasty hemotoxin in his fangs, Yakamashii is mostly harmless. He excels at sports and hopes to become captain of Orochi High’s successful Koudo ( 絞道 - "Way of the Wrap") team this year.

The O-Hi tail band he wears shows off his school spirit!

Monoko Mori

Species: Monocled Cobra (Albino Morph)

Length: 1.5 meters

Age: 19

Regarded as the most beautiful girl at Orochi High, Monoko Mori has many admirers. Despite being confessed to on an almost daily basis, she has turned down every single suitor so far. Though she is not unkind, her quiet demeanor and disinterest in dating have earned her the reputation of being cold.

Her striking albino coloration, while attractive to many, makes her sensitive to light and susceptible to sunburn, so she is often forced to limit outdoor activities.

Her hood piercing stands in stark rebellion against her otherwise pristine appearance.

Hachi Mitsu

Species: Ball Python (Bumblebee Morph)

Length: 0.8 meters

Age: 18

Unlike most of his peers, Hachi Mitsu seems to have it together. He knows what he wants to be when he grows up (video game designer), and he knows what he’s got to do to do it (get good grades and make it into the prestigious Snokyo Institute of Technology). He and Marzipan become fast friends after he offers to tutor her in snath.

He has a neurological condition called “the wobble,” which he inherited from his dad’s side of the family. He’s pretty good with a power chair, though–just watch your tail!

Hatchi has contacts, but prefers to wear glasses at school because he thinks they make him look smart.

Jun Aoki

Species: Emerald Tree Boa

Length: 1.2 meters

Age: 18

Jun is a striking emerald tree boa that lives with their grandmother in an apartment building near the coast. At school, they usually keep to themselves, doodling in the margins of their homework or painting elaborate landscapes in Creative Club after class. Most snudents consider them unusual and intimidating, but few have taken the time to really get to know them.

They enjoy collecting shells with their grandma and keep their favorite, a beautiful textile cone, on a cord around their neck.

My headcanon for what 'pets' the AC Protags have:

Altair: He would definitely have some sort of 'raptor' rehabilitation or sanctuary. Maybe even a breeding program for endangered species he houses.

Ezio: Being from a rich family, I'd have to say he would be a 'horse girl' and would have quite a few on his family property. Maybe even show horses with prestigious pedigrees with a stallion he studs for profit. With a singular big draft horse he rescued that simply gets to enjoy top notch grain and oats and miles of green pastures.

Ratonhnhake:ton: He volunteers at an animal sanctuary where he can interact with bears, wolves, Bob cats, and mountain lions, but he has a pet hedgehog at home that he adores. Maybe even some domestic 'descented' skunks instead of cats. And a ferret or two.

Desmond: It has become my personal headcanon that Desmond would have various snakes, lizards, frogs, and amphibians as pets. Mostly he breeds ball pythons, as they don't get overly large and are pretty chill. He also has a variety of tree frogs, a leopard gecko with a bad attitude, and one giant albino Burmese python he had to build his second bedroom into an enclosure for. But his most memorable pet, if only because of its attitude, is the monitor lizard he found as a baby. It acts very much like a dog, if dogs could climb vertical walls and has hooked claws and a whip like tail.

if u don't know nagas are basically snake people from religious mythology. the top half is a human, while the lower is a snake. there's all different kinds of interpretations of how they look, with some people perferring them to have a humanoid top half BUT keeping the snake head and patterns. like the serpentines from ninjago 💀

in my opinion, I see them with their snake patterns starting from the top of their head to the tail but keeping a human face and front torso of their human half if that makes sense?? I'm really bad at explaining things if u couldn't tell

derby is an albino gaboon viper. they're my favorite snake ever and I could yap about them for hours and this choice is very much out of bias

-they do this thing called rectilinear locomotion (heavy bodied species of snakes do this) which makes they teeter in a straight line rather than slither. it makes them look like inch worms

-despite being the heaviest of any venomous snake, they have the fastest strike of any snake species

-gaboons have 2 inch fangs which is the longest of any snake. very impressive cheese wedge head ass

-they are impossible to spot in stray leaf litter, only moving their pupils and slowly puffing out when seeing a potentional threat bigger than them. they stay in the same spot for days on end until an unfortunate critter steps on their stupid faces

burmese pythons don't need venom -- they use their entire body basically made of pure muscle to constrict prey and suffocate them. they are just big babies idc

Mavi and Kovu are making a sacrifice called Wine will kill them. Kovu announced he found his own home so, his old room can now be a snake pet room for kyra.

remember the giant tank that could fit a Burmese python that Kyra got to her wedding? Kovu and Mavi chipped in together and got Kyra a baby Burmese python, a albino morph too. that's their Christmas gift and most definitely a reason why wine will hunt them down.

Some HC’s about Elliot that I forgot to mention:

Elliot would play-fight a lot. This mostly happens with Ryuga funnily enough, and most of the time it ends up with Elliot freaking THROWING Ryuga on a couch or chair like he was a small dog. Yu and tithi always ask Elliot to throw them because they think it’s really fun

The Blader Elliot rescued and treated that got him recommended for the WBBA MA program was Ryuga. Because of this, Ryuga and Elliot have a close relationship. Elliot feels a lot more comfortable with Ryuga because he listens to him really well and teaches him to stand up for himself more, and Ryuga likes Elliot’s company because he’s very goofy and kind, and it makes him feel safe in a way. They probably hang out with each other a lot and Elliot always invites Ryuga to things just so he doesn’t feel left out of activities, even if he doesn’t come.

Doesn’t like children, but is really good with kids. Their high pitched screaming gives him sensory overload, so he tries to avoid little tiny kids as much as possible. Kids like Yu and Tithi are okay, and he loves playing with them as well. He just has to ask them to keep their voices down sometimes.

I FORGOT TO MENTION— Elliot has a fourth snake named Jorman (short for Jormungandr, named after the World Serpent from the Norse religious texts) He’s a GIANT Albino Burmese python. He’s about 15 feet long and Elliot absolutely loves him. He will squish his fat cheeks and lug him around everywhere. Jorman is about 80 or so pounds, so it’s a VERY good workout to take him out and hold him.

BONUS: this is a little snippet about how Elliot and Ryuga would react. This is actually based on an interaction that me and my partner had and I think it’s funny.

HERE SHE IS!!

Everyone meet Locus, my first Burmese python and first "giant" period!! She's a 2019 female green het granite 66% ph albino. She seems smaller than I'd expect for being nearly a yearling (if the seller posted the correct info on MM, her hatchday is July 6th), but her overall body tone looks good and she seems healthy upon first impressions. Only thing that worries me is this little mark up near her neck;

No idea what it is. Almost looks like she could have been bit by a mouse or something, but she's supposed to be eating F/T prey. I'll be asking the seller about it here shortly.

And damn is this little girl chatty! I know burms are noisy, but Locus sounded like a tea kettle with how much she was hissing when I pulled her bag out of the box! No bites or strikes though.

I'm gonna be miserable keeping my hands off for the next week while she settles in. What a gorgeous snake, my poor camera phone just can't do her justice!

A powerful sorceress and voodoo practitioner, Mama Magnolia is something of an enigma, and has been around since the 1800's. Despite being a magical powerhouse, she has a very warm demeanor and a soft spot for helping lost souls and misfits that find themselves at her door. As far as the general public knows, she's simply the eccentric owner of a world-class Cajun restaurant, but the dark forces of the world know to stay well out of her way... PS: The snake is named JuJu, and he's an albino Burmese Python -- really big, but surprisingly. She also has two giant albino alligators named Brutus and Nero that guard her home. (This is actually a recolor of an older drawing. I'm still learning how to shade darker skin tones, but this is definitely an improvement over the last version.)

The Burmese python is native to Southeast Asia much as the name suggests. They are the 5th largest snake in the world, some reaching 200lbs and 20 feet though rare. They are "gentle giants" and are popular in the pet trade due to their personalities and unique color and pattern variations. This one pictured is a Granite Het Albino male who we have named Bagheera:)

I was with a guy near the ocean. Don't know what was our relationship, probably just acquainted. He told me there's a giant snake living underwater. He called out to it and then a giant albino burmese python submerged. When it noticed me it slithered towards my direction. I knew the mouth was big enough to kill me so I grabbed a tree branch nearby. Just as it opened its mouth I held it back with the branch and told the guy to stop it. After a couple tries, it stopped and went back to the water.

A woman was escaping from lava. It was flowing quickly, like a river caused by a flashflood, melting anything in its path. She was inside a building, and had to jump up to bars that escalate to the exit. I felt the immense heat, and sweat profusely dripping all over my body. When she escaped the building, she was outside near the volcano. The air was warm, and the ground felt hot. Others were holding onto trees, watching the volcano erupt.

A voice called out to her, that she needed to head towards the summit. As she climbed up, blue electricity sparked around her. The heat did not hurt her. No lava touched her. When she looked down, a human-like figure made of blue magma signaled her to drop down. She jumped and with the blue electricity, she made volcanic rocks as a platform. The blue magma called her to be trained, and if she wins a match, the volcano will stop erupting.

I didn't see how they fought, it was a white flash as they clashed, but she did win and the blue magma disappeared.

It's Been 19 Years, and We Still Can't Stop Talking About Britney Spears's 2001 VMAs Look

Britney Spears forever changed history when she performed at the 2001 MTV Video Music Awards wearing that iconic outfit. The singer was just 19 years old when she gave the memorable performance of "I'm a Slave 4 U" holding an albino Burmese python. (Fun fact: the snake was nicknamed Banana and weighed a whopping 25 pounds.) While we're coming up on almost 20 years since the iconic performance, we still can't get over her outfit. Her green set was designed by famed costume designers Kurt and Bart. (They were also behind the flight-attendant look she wore in the "Toxic" music video!)

For her performance, she walked the stage in an olive-green, ab-baring bralette and bejeweled booty shorts. She finished her look with a matching pair of bejeweled heeled boots and jeweled tattoos. Her shorts had multiple scarfs attached around the waist that swayed as she danced around the stage. I'd be lying if I said her outfit hasn't been ingrained into my brain from the moment I saw it as a kid. Britney managed to sing an entire song in the eye-popping outfit while holding the giant python casually draped around her neck. Now that's called skill! Happy Friday!

Again, weird how things turn out well. Like I was soooo busy and soooo stressed this week that I forgot periods existed, not that I started unexpectedly, I was just mad like now I have to do this, and then that, and BLEED for a week all at the same time! N O . 

It's over now though. I wrote my Aquatic invertebrate test on Tuesday though unsure of the mark, then my Bird ID on Thursday and got 96% because I put the Sandhill Crane in the wrong Order and I didn't know one of the birds was a juvenile Cooper's Hawk so I didn't see the ID feature I'm used to. Ugh it's frustrating I wanted 100%.. And finally, the biggest stressor ever.. I had a presentation due today and I just.. really hate presenting like oh my god, though I talked to my teacher about that yesterday and he said that I could present in front of him only. Aaah-! AND THEN- we're sitting in class waiting for him, an 8am class, and I check the online schedule to see what's up- and it turns out he cancels it last minute because he got sick LIKE- what kind of luck, for everyone~ 

 YESTERDAY ALSO- my residence staff brought in an exotic animal show for kids so we got to interact with all these adorable babies, INCLUDING A GIANT AMERICAN BULLFROG, THIS HUGE ALBINO BURMESE PYTHON THAT SLITHERED ONTO MY HEAD WHEN I WAS HOLDING HIM OMG HEAVY, A TORTOISE, TARANTULA, A BABY CAIMAN, AN ALLIGATOR I GOT TO HOLD TOO OH MY GOD AND FERRETS!! There was also a chinchilla, rabbit, sugar glider, skinny pig, a hedgehog, I forget what else but it was sooooooo cool, my stress just vanished right after that oh my god That snake though tried to get up on my head LIKE- A TOTAL BABE Then in the end I got a colouring book :3c 

 My dad got me at 12 today as it's a long weekend in some Canadian provinces, though before that I had lunch with 3 boys in my class it was sooooo great oh my gosh~ So tol and big and funny~ I love boys~ (˘▽˘ʃƪ)*:・ﾟ✧ And I hope they love me too~

And then I come home to my second mom’s cats welcoming me, and a package from princess Star, which I’ll share afterwards~ Then I have to do chemistry and a powerpoint because the dropbox closes at midnight rip :’<
