Agregar soporte WebP en gimp - En nuestro linux. Muchas distribuciones linux, siguen incluyendo de forma predeterminada Gimp 2.8. Algo que me parece lógico, pues hablamos de una versión que se actualizó hace apenas tres meses a la 2.8.22. Muchos usuarios, más de los que pensamos siguen decantándose por Gimp 2.8. Creo que sus motivos son evidentes... Gimp 2.10 es muy pesado para equipos antiguos y, su interfaz no es tan intuitiva y limpia como la de Gimp 2.8. Está claro que la última versión de la herramienta, aporta nuevas funciones incluyendo el soporte para nuevas extensiones. Entre los nuevos formatos de imagen se incluye WebP. Hace unos días, navegando por la red me encuentre con un curioso articulo titulado: Como hacer compatible WebP con Gimp 2.8. Un tema interesante me dije a mi mismo, quiero leerlo. Vaya chasco, vaya porquería, jajaja. Según el susodicho linuxero, para que las imágenes webp sean compatibles con Gimp 2.8, lo único que tienes que hacer es agregar el repositorio "ppa:otto-kesselgulasch/gimp" (Ubuntu), y actualizar a Gimp 2.10. Parece una broma pero no lo es, ufff. En el artículo de hoy, vemos como agregar soporte WebP en Gimp 2.8 de verdad, sin bromas ni tonterías. Existe algún ppa en Ubuntu que lo ofrece, pero tiene casi diez años. OOC: Arguing with Computers

I agreed to do some fanart for @shadowphoenixrider (against my better judgement; I suck at the drawing thing mostly) ... I have a VERY old Wacom Graphire 1 from when I actually thought I could do the whole digital drawing thing. (I much prefer traditional if it comes down to it.) An hour’s worth of arguing with my computer, with the tablet, with GIMP2.8, and my tablet/pen is FINALLY recognized and omg opacity and sensitivity finally work. Now... what was I even DOING? Ah. Right. The thing. I may put this down and go write again. Or do my dailies because Bri and Da���arin are behind. Or just got blow something up. like old raids. ugh. Or I can get started figuring out how to draw with this thing again, since my last work was so long ago. I should post it here. For posterity. The things I do for the sake of loving others’ work :D (yes. Worth it. Every moment)

How to Change Hair Color: Blonde to Brunette

This tutorial is going to show you how to change hair color from blonde to brunette. Depending on the picture you are using there will be some adjustments needed. But the example I’m going to demonstrate this on is the picture of Dianna Argon shown below:

and we’re going to turn it into this:

Step 1

Once you have you image open, make a new transparent layer. Have your foreground layer set to #966c55. Using the airbrush tool on 100% opacity and Hardness 075 brush, slowly brush on the brown colors over the hair. For any parts were the strands are thinner/more parted(for example, the hair that is on Dianna’s shoulder where some parts of her hair is separated) try changing the size of your brush to a smaller one. Try to be as accurate as you can but it doesn’t have to be exact. Set this layer on Color at 100% opacity.

Duplicate this layer, change the mode to Multiple and lower the opacity to around 30%.

Duplicate this layer again and set it on Soft Light this time but keep the opacity the same.

Step 2

Next we will switch the foreground color to #6c4e3d. We are going to make a new transparent layer and repeat the airbrush step. This layer will be on Color bu at 75% opacity. 

Now we will duplicate the layer but switch the mode to Hue at 30% opacity.

We will duplicate this layer twice more and set on on Subtract at 13% and one on Soft Light at 46%.

Step 3

We’re going to now switch the foreground color to #2a1e18 and repeat the airbrush technique again. This layer will be on the layer mode Burn at 25%. 

We’re going to duplicate this layer and set it on Overlay at 32%.

And we’re done!
