💛#LetThereBeLight (Portal)✨⁣ Los Angeles-based designer and art collector Megan Tagliaferri has announced a new 15,000-square-foot space called 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥 (@compoundlbc) dedicated to art and wellness. @megantagliaferri says: “I wanted to create a space where all aspects of a person, and community, can be nurtured...Art and wellness both have the ability to strengthen our connections and understanding of ourselves, our communities, and the world around us. Compound’s mission is to create a space for dialogue, social justice, healing, and transformation—all anchored by the arts.”⁣ ⁣ Lauri Firstenberg, the founder of @laxart, has come on board as Compound’s curator and artistic director, and is organizing the inaugural exhibition, “Chaos to Cosmos,” which will include paintings, sculpture and photography along with video and film installations by artists such as @gisela_colon_ ‘s 𝘓𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘗𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘢𝘭 (𝘙𝘶𝘣𝘪𝘥𝘪𝘶𝘮) — all works from Tagliaferri’s personal collection. It felt hot today under the wonderful glass ceilings of the Grand Palais, not o ly because the april sun was shining, also because of the great art assembled for the Kick off of Art Paris fair. My absolute favourite booth was @galerietemplon with several great artists, among them my beloved @odajaune with a wonderful painting and a sculpture, and the Indian artist @jitishkallat who had a solo show in the gallery in the beginning of the year. Since this year, there is finally a spotlight on women artists, I also share my first "darlings" here: @joanavasconelos with a beautiful knitted sculpture, absolutely loved the intriguing sculpture out of thermoforming plexi by @giselacolon and my dear friend, the wonderful french artist @morganetschiember with two honey-glass sculptures.
