its adorable. its just the cutest ever and the single most affectionate that we see law. you cant argue with that if i try. idc how people interpret his other scenes, zou hug is the most obviously and openly shameless display of affection towards someone we see with law

so unfortunately that comparing yourself to others thing doesn’t go away ever asdfgjkl. I suffer it every day, it sucks, feels bad. I’ve had industry people tell me they feel this way and they’ll have some of the most gorgeous visdev/boards/animation I’ve ever seen. Disheartening to hear, But! I’m a big believer that comparing your artworks with others is best used as a tool and not a punishment to yourself!

When looking at art you like, try to turn thoughts of, “Man I wish my stuff looked like that, my shit sucks,” to, “What is it that I like about this piece? The line art? The perspective?” Sometimes I’ll see work with thin line art and I’ll get an itch, and I’ll draw something with thin line art. It’s a conscious effort of keepin emotion out of that itch, keeping it as, “I saw art with thin lines, I want to do that. Yay I did that!” Compartmentalize it, the itch was simply to do thin line work, not to remake the piece you were inspired by. And you got a piece of art out of it, and a single piece is progress no matter how small!

If you want to compare, do it methodically! Why does my work look different (never use the words better or worse)! Oh, I see my piece doesn’t follow the rule of thirds, so the framing is different, I’ll be aware of that next time if it bothers me. Or, Oh I see they shade by hatching along with the form, I’ve just been going horizontally, I’ll try that other way!

it’s a learning curve of training yourself, like all corrective behavior.

like, I kinda have the warning feeling of dread when I’m about to compare my work with something, so before the self-deprecating thought can even start I have to think What do I Like about this?

I’m no expert at it, though. Actually getting myself to think this way is a struggle, but I find when I make Thoughtful Observations I level up. Not by a lot most times, but yknow.

and this part is just my personal experience:

Fanart and the internet can be the biggest Art skill killer sometimes. Get offline and cater to the audience that Really matters to your passion: You! I improved the most by spending 2-3 years doing doodles/comics/models for my dnd campaign ocs because I was that obsessed and I simply wanted to have it for me!

and after all that, then there’s the hardest skill of just accepting your work as is.

like, to me, my work is just scribbles. I see other artists’ stuff and go “Man they’re so good at comics and colors, man, why can’t I color?” But do I need to??? I don’t like coloring, do I need to be good at it? This isn’t a career, this is supposed to be fun! I scribble because I like it! I’m glad this persons good at coloring, I don’t need to be! Yay!

if I Want to be good at it, I’ll take the steps to get there! But if not, my scribbles are just fine :) I love black and white and values

I’ve been having that one on repeat for a while. It helps

(acceptance and denial go hand in hand btw lol they sound the same)

I wish there was a little off button for envy, but ah well! I hope that you take comfort in knowing we are all feeling it, and find joy in even the smallest little doodle you make! Have fun stay goofy!

ok ok, so let’s say his s/o is an artist too, right? I feel like they would model for each other. Like, we all know how there are head canons of Vincent and his s/o going on cute dates like sitting under the shade of a tree and having a picnic with various fruits and stuff, yk, the romantic shit, but I imagine them sitting only a foot away from each other both with their noses in sketchbooks as they glance back and forth from the paper to the other and each time they make eye contact they just blush n get shy or something cute like that-

or like, if his s/o has long hair, they just do each other’s hair to relax after long days of murdering and waxing n stuff. But I also imagine Vincent having a really southern accent when he whispers. Bc, well, we know he can breathe, so wether he can speak or not doesn’t rlly matter since he can just kinda whisper without a voice lol. But both of his brothers have THICC southern accents, and in EVERY SINGLE FANFIC where Vincent speaks, (which I don’t agree with but I’m not here to shame bc that’s not cool) he never has an accent :(

If you are also into art, he would want to make and create stuff with you together! (Vincent would like to hear your every idea how to make his "living figurines" even more interesting looking)

If you brought up the idea of drawing and sketching each other, he would clean around his space and try to make it the most comfortable for both of you!

He would get everything, your every little detail. For him, drawing and painting is the other way to admire and cherish beauty.

Vincent would definitely stop drawing unintentionally and look at you, you'd notice him, give him that beautiful smile he loves, and if he's without mask you would notice his mouth corners slowly rising up, never taking his eyes off you. I also imagine tired Vincent and you in bed, massaging his palms, helping him to relax and he's just like in heaven.

He asks you to pose for him very often. He has this little sketchbook that is full of drawings that are forming into the final piece of you.

The hair stuff? Yes. Brushing through his long hair while being pressed against him, he just melts.

Imagine he is working on his next thing, or cleaning his knives, or medical supplies he has, he's deeply focused and of course his hair is getting in the way. He doesn't pay it no mind, he's used to it and it somehow comforts him even. But getting the stuff out of his hair is not so comforting.. So you walk over to him, and put his hair up with a tie and kiss his cheek, he really does appreciate it.

After a long tiring day Vincent loves when he can just lay on top of you and bury his face into the crook of your neck, feel you, and smell your hair and scent.

His absolutely favorite thing is when you tangle your hands into his hair and go through it with your fingers. Best way for him to fall asleep. Now if you have long hair, expect Vincent want to braid and brush it every chance he gets. He likes how your hair looks and loves the way it smells! If you're using some oils, he's doing it for you now. If you have short hair he still wants to brush it, stroke it, and help you wash it in the shower.

The accent.. Again, Vincent snuggled up with you, arms around you and listening to you talk about things, and maybe you even asked him something he doesn't really know, he just looks at you and is like:

"I love ya.. so much" and holds you even tighter to him.

hiii i actually made the faces in vroid and then uploaded the models to blender, then got rid of everything but the faces and adjusted as i wanted in sculpt mode :) the bodies/heads were made from scratch using what i learned from the froggy tut

How did you actually come up with mayhem x not cup? It seems like such a weird yet canon ship I love it I want to learn more

Oh i actually had art of that ship waaaaay back before posting on tumblr

Made this around the middle of last year. And then i posted this when i first started tumblr (you long-time fishies/followers out there who was with me with my first post might remember this lol)

From all i could remember from my past-self's thoughts, Not-Cup was, from what i imagined, a hollow and black eyed version of Cuphead that appeared in real Cuphead's dream in the labyrinth. Which is waaaaay different cuz in the canon, its actually just the usual cuphead that we know, except evil with toungue. I was wondering why he was in the Tear—was he an anomaly like mayhem? Was he an illusion like ava and black hat? Or is he smth else like i dunno, a future cuphead that is potentially possessed by an ink machine part? (As you guys know, when a character gets possessed by this shit, their eyes turn black like Cog!Holly, Cog!Cala and Instument!boris and sarah. Except the brush with mick tho, i dunno why is that)

But anyway, this question gets unanswered leaving me to headcanon that he is an "actual" character and not just a manifestation or illusion of the labyrinth. Just like Mayhem who we thought was an illusion till she's revealed to be an actual character in the series. (This question regarding Not-Cup is still unanswered lol, regardless of an answer, im still shipping them)

Now, onto the actual question, well i dunno if u ship cuphead and holly (i do) and if you'd notice, witchbrew is (obviously) a parallel of the colly ship. Colly are in the hero side, while Witchbrew is on the villain side. I would love to see an actual couple be villains, it sucks that theyre always single XD. If Cuphead had his Holly, then why cant Mayhem have her Not-Cup, hm? Nah-uh aint gonna let that happen

And then boom! This shit--i mean ship is created. Lol i dunno if this makes any sense 😭

Also this ship has ties with my theory regarding of Mayhem's origin and if there will be a canon origin of her story thats gonna be different from my theory, well, lets say this might just be a small fanon ship that randomly came outta nowhere XD

Regarding their origin love story, it starts with my theory that Mayhem is the future Holly that is fully possessed by the cog when the questers went to the desert (forgot its name) to finf the machine. Cuphead goes desperate and asks help from a part? (Eh, i really havent thought about how cuphead got possessed lol) And then he teams up with Mayhem.

The problem is, Cuphead did it out of love, regrets (regret that he didnt manage to save holly even tho it wasnt his fault), and guilt. While Mayhem got possessed by the Cog due to her previous connection to it that got stronger. So i this ship, its painfully one-sided. Painful truth.

But when interacting, they act a bit like a bickering couple, Mayhem being the terrifying teaser she is while Not-cup is the sarcastic serious one. Tho he sometimes act like the actual Cuphead Dish from the questers. They may also act a bit like the duplicates of Colly in appearance.

Not-Cup likes to help Mayhem mess with the Questers as they try to hunt down and restore the duo.

And as for Chaos the Cat... I dunno where the fuck does he fit in lol

From what i remember i think i had a digital version of Mayhem's Tango? Its burried deep down in the ocean... Btw Mayhem's tango was inspired by the song "You'll be mine (Alice's Tango)" by Chi-Chi. I also had other songs that i associate mayhem with (mostly its just bendy fansongs lol) but i dunno if u wanna hear abt it :/
