also i am back to using the forest app bc i need to make studying more fun than stressful! 😃😅 i ended up using the stopwatch and then forgot to turn it off when i took a break so idk how accurate this is but...

the vibes today have been so perfect. it’s been cold and rainy and I haven’t left the house once today. yesterday, my roommates and I had a dinner party with several friends that was such a fun time. today, we had some leftover soup and my roommate made the best cinnamon hot chocolate and whipped cream. I started a new book and worked on some parti diagrams

Sept 14-15, 2023 ✧ Productively Challenged 45-46/50
My days pass in a blur of work. I haven’t watered my plants in a week and instead moved them outside my window so at least the clouds can water them. All of them except for the ones in water have been sent out. My mom's plants outside have taken over the view from my window and it's one of my favorite things about spring, summer and fall. It is a sight for sore eyes after spending all my time grading and lesson planning and playing games to relieve stress D:

How Learning to Run Engineering Sprints Improved My Daily Life
Don't Overcommit — List everything you "need" to get done, then scope it down to the absolute bare minimum for this week. Then throw in some items that will improve your quality of life and happiness. To quote my former mentor, "What's the worst that could happen? We don't deliver. That just means we work on the same thing next sprint."
Backlog Grooming — Every quarter(ish), review your masterlist of everything you "need" to get done. Do you still care about it? Is it still relevant? If it helps, sort out your priorities according to Must-Haves (e.g. my education), Want-to-Have (e.g. my books, my favorite food), Nice-to-Have (e.g. the cute stationary at Daiso).
Clearly Define Your Tasks — I actually don't entirely believe in this one. Works great for larger projects containing aspects you're already familiar with, but in other cases, time can be better spent just hacking away at the problem, which makes it easier to pivot too when something isn't working. To quote my senior, "The power of YOLO-ing it."
