rewatching cars on the road after like a year i love this show sm it’s so fun and wholesome 💔

i know having mater on screen for too long can get pretty overwhelming but i just love seeing him and lightning interact in this show. like they really feel like best friends here, they banter, get into stupid squabbles and they just understand and love each other so much.

i also keep thinking about their video call in cars 3, like just the whole idea of mcqueen being able to call mater at an ungodly hour at night and get an immediate response. that is SUCH a best friend thing. like i just love how their friendship evolves from joking around and partaking in shenanigans to them being able to really trust and count on one another.

no because the thing that got me the most is oliver saying he feels a sense of responsibility for this storyline, like something he absolutely wants to bring to justice.

i remember before, during an interview from years ago (idk when but if anyone does please let me know!), oliver saying if they were to go the buddie route, that the writers would handle it with all the love and care and would want to give it the justice it deserves.

all of the posts about The Banshees of Inisherin are about barry keoghan being adorable and like yeah he's hot but also holy shit dominic is the most horrifyingly gut-wrenchingly tragic character and i feel like we should be talking about that more. barry put his soul into that character and dear god it's all i can think about. dominic's last scene with padraic, "i think that's the meanest thing ive ever heard," and "i thought you were one of the nice ones," and just.
