2020 in review: kdramas (the heart fluttering, the disappointing, the saviors of 2020)

it’s december 31st! the new year is quite literally upon us (some of y’all are already in 2021) and my procrastinating self has chosen to upload this today. i’ve always loved these rec lists and I wanted to do one for 2020! this year was a rollercoaster for kdramas with some excellent ones and some not so excellent ones. i watched all of these in 2020 but not all of them were released in 2020.

drama that made me laugh

When The Camellia Blooms (2019)

i finally got around to watching when the camellia blooms this year and it. was. so. funny. oh my goodness, the comedic timing in so many scenes was pure excellency and im kinda mad at myself that i didn’t watch this last year. this isn’t just a comedy for those who are interested, its a thriller/romance but its also so fucking funny. definitely watch this if you want to laugh (and be touched bc the emotional scenes in this one are beautiful)

drama that made me cry

Sweet Home (2020)

hahah….. um this one is gonna go to sweet home friends. i went into this one with zero expectations and the first couple episodes didn’t really wow me? but i kept watching and holy shit fam. this show really picks up story-wise around ep 4 and makes the viewer love a lot of these initially unlikable characters. all i can say is that the end was devastating for me and i cried quite a bit. (warning, there are a lot of mature themes in this one so make sure you look for trigger warnings or send me an ask and i’ll list them all out for you)

Itaewon Class (2020) 

i loved the ost for itaewon class!! the music is just so inspirational and pump up music, its so good. my favorites are ‘you make me back’ by woosung and ‘start’ by gaho.

It’s Okay To Not Be Okay (2020)

we recognize this one as one of the best things to come out of 2020. go moon young and moon kang tae have some of the best chemistry i have ever seen in a drama couple. i waited on the edge of my seat every single week for the next couple of episode just so i could fawn over these two. they work so well together, lift each other up, and so fucking funny together and support one another. while they’re not the chillest couple (lmao) they’re most certainly one with the most personality. they’re so cute and bicker and they just get each other. who could ask for more.

Flower of Evil (2020)

our badass mom and dad 😭😭. this was another peak drama that came out this year and our married partners-in-crime-but-not-really had amazing chemistry. baek hee sung and cha ji won were so cute as a married couple but they were even more precious later on in the drama after certain things unfolded (no spoilers). they both just get each other and protected one another as well as on the most precious kdrama children this year, their daughter eunha. they were so wholesome, flower of evil is so very worth a watch.

Into The Ring (2020)

this was one of the more underappreciated kdramas of the year but hoo buddy was the main couples chemistry top notch. they were so friggin cute and i just couldn’t. goo se ra is highkey one of the best female characters i’ve ever seen, she’s absolute chaos, lawful chaos, but chaos nonetheless. her other half, seo gong myung is opposite from her as lawful neutral. he’s just along for the ride that is se ra and loves her. they’re both so very fond and protective of each other and back each other up!! very very cute and you’ll definitely replay more than a couple of their scenes together.

Record of Youth (2020)

it’s sad but true… i went into this one with so much hope and excitement (i was riding off that ‘psycho but its okay’ high) and i was vastly disappointed. the plot mostly focused on the male lead, and there wasn’t much characterization for the female lead which i didn’t like. honestly, i only cared about maybe 3-4? characters in the whole drama. the rest were absolutely terrible or plain boring and i ended up skipping eps 14 and 15 and just watched the finale. i would not recommend tbh.

Crash Landing on You (2019)

this one is absolutely on me, i want so badly to love this one. but i just… can’t seem to get past ep 2? i’ve tried!! i swear, but i just cannot get through it. maybe in 2021, i can try again and i’ll enjoy it more.

Kairos (2020)

i though kairos was a bit predictable tbh. i know those of us who did end up watching it really liked it but maybe its because i watch so many crime/mystery shows that this one didn’t really do it for me. the writing is quite solid and everything connects well, i would recommend that those who don’t really watch thrillers, to watch this one. (also the friendship between the female lead and her two friends is suuuper cute and worth it alone to watch kairos)

It’s Okay To Not Be Okay (2020)

yeah… this one wins again lol. what can i say, i just loved it so much and the main theme of the show is romance (its also a comedy and a mental health/healing drama) all i can say is watch this if you haven’t yet, its definitely worth it!!

Memorist (2020)  & Watcher (2019)

i really enjoyed these two mystery dramas. both were super fun to watch and very kinda unique in their own ways. i liked memorist because it was lowkey funny and i liked the relationships between the characters, but most importantly i couldn’t guess the main antagonist by the end! i really thought i knew who it was and then i was completely wrong lmao. watcher was also very good, the main trio had really good chemistry and i really cared about all the characters. (also i’ll never say no to watching seo kang joon) plus the plot twists threw me a bit at the end which is always a feeling i welcome, i love being surprised and wrong (as long as it makes sense)

Hospital Playlist (2020)

oh my goodness, i was late to the hospital playlist party and i regret it because this show is so. so. good. its just a slice of life following 5 friends who are doctors and work at the same hospital together but its so much more than that. this is honestly one of the first shows i’ve seen that are optimistic? in the show, every time i thought a plot was going to play out a certain way (usually negatively, as tends to be life unfortunately) it surprised me by taking the more optimistic wholesome route. characters in subplots changed for the better, became more understanding, chose to do the right thing, etc. if you want a feel good drama where the main characters have wonderful platonic chemistry and just care about each other but is also super funny, watch hospital playlist!! (season 2 is coming out early 2021 and im so pumped)

The Untamed (2019)

this one is a cdrama but i watched it in 2020, mostly because of how many people on the internet were adamant that the rest of us watch this and ngl they were v right. the untamed was very very good and im really glad i gave it a chance and watched it, its also my first cdrama ever. the chemistry between the male leads is honestly what makes this show and its worth the 50? i think? episodes. to be completely honest the fanfiction for the show are peak and if you do watch this, go straight to ao3 and you will not be disappointed.

The Uncanny Counter (2020) & Run On (2020)

these two dramas are among those that started airing at the end of the year and will go into the beginning of 2021 and absolutely saved the end of 2020 for me. while neither of these are finished, both have been excellent so far and worth starting. uncanny counter has the best use of the found family trope i have ever seen. i fucking love the four counters and their relationship with each other, how protective they are of one another. they all have amazing chemistry and the actors have amazing chemistry in the making films.

run on has one of the cutest couples that will definitely make my best chemistry list for next year. i didn’t put them on this list bc they actually haven’t gotten together yet but once they do, they’re gonna be freaking adorable, i can already tell. there’s no specific grand events propelling the plot forward, but just following the lives of these unique, interesting and relatable people who have casual yet entertaining conversations with each other. the show is super soft and the main couple are so straightforward and honest (plus theres mutual pining!!)

Here are some brief thoughts on kdrama that started airing in 2020 that I've watched. I said brief, but those who have been following me would appreciate that this is indeed, brief.

The list is in alphabetical order.

1. 365: Repeat the Year (MBC)

Disclosure: I am a HUGE Lee Joon Hyuk stan. He is second only to Hyun Bin on my list. The fact that this drama is on the top of this list is a happy coincidence 🥰🥰

I was soooooooo excited when I knew Lee Joon Hyuk was to star in a new drama. MBC made the announcement of the drama late last year, and I was literally walking to the office when I saw the announcement on ig.

The premise of the drama was pretty straightforward. 10 people were given the chance to travel back in time exactly one year prior. Mysterious things kept happening to the people who took the trip, so our Detective Ji “Fluffy-Hair” Hyung Joo and webtoon writer Shin “Self-Hater” Ga Hyun joined hands to figure out what exactly happened.

Once they finally figured out what caused the mysterious cases, they faced a great dilemma on what to do, with our Fluffy Hair detective running as a fugitive.

The ending was really sad, and I really wished it ended differently, but the main character of the story was our Fluffy Hair detective, and him having to live on and reset the whole thing from the new past was a nice touch to the ending.

This drama was full of surprises, twist and turn, and it is certainly a drama I would consider rewatching in the future.

2. Do You Like Brahms? (SBS)

Many people criticised the second half of this drama. Apparently the year 2020 is the year when kdramaland keeps being a disappointment, and many people are quick to include this drama in the list of disappointing drama, despite having a good beginning.

I beg to differ though. To me this drama feels more of a healing drama, wherein the characters are forced to deal with their issues. And anyone who has had to go through any form of therapy knows how hard healing process is.

TL;DR: The main leads are both people who have been mentally abused by the people around them, except for Cha Young In, because she was the only reason I did not throw my remote control at my 50-inch TV.

Park Joon Young is your classic example of a ‘gifted kid’ struggle. He was seen as a young, talented pianist who had a bright future ahead of him. But people started to treat him more like a trophy than a human being, so he decided to take a sabbatical, much to the criticism of people in the music industry. Park Joon Young realised that his passion in playing the piano has faded away, no thanks to his abusive piano professor who belittled him again and again, and practically brainwashed him into being a people pleaser. You could see how Park Joon Young was not himself in the beginning of the drama once you finish the drama.

Chae Song Ah took interest in violin at a later age (much later than professional musicians) and decided to pursue her dream by enrolling into a music programme. Her classmates were all younger than her, and it didn’t help that they all learnt music since much younger. I love how Song Ah did not give up on her dream easily and gave it her all, before she finally decided to let go of her dream to become a musician. The metaphor of her love for violin and Joon Young hurting her again and again and she just endured it though.. I cried like a mess well I am a mess but that’s a separate issue

Special shout out to Cha Young In who was there for both of them.

3. Flower of Evil (tvN)

If thriller is your thing, consider this drama. If you are one of those people who like to see your characters being tortured (physically and mentally), this drama is a MUST WATCH. And if you enjoy watching Lee Joon Ki playing a character who is put at a great distress because he is trying to run from his past, go watch this drama.

More importantly, if you enjoy a drama where your ML is sexy, attends to house chores and takes care of his bright young daughter while his wife goes crazy for solving violent crimes, a devoted husband who is attentive and a tender person but also a freak in the sheets, you are wasting every single of your breath not watching this drama.

I mean look at this man teasing his wife about his stamina.

Flower of Evil did not feel draggy at all. Everything that happened within the first 6 episodes could have been an entire drama if this was written by someone else. Seriously, this drama kept me at the edge of my couch!

The dynamic of HS and JW screams POWER COUPLE but at the same time it broke my heart how they were pushed into corners too many times by the people around them I do hope they had some sexy times while they were in the corners though

The focus on their wedding rings throughout the drama symbolised their unbreakable bond. The wedding rings were literally the very last thing that kept them together when JW stumbled upon evidences that pointed against HS.

JW, whose compass was only trusting what she saw, and not what she heard, tried to break the stigma of women being at a disadvantage in the police force. Heck, she was better than her entire team when it came to solving cases, her being the only woman in the team. Who said women cannot make good cops?

The plot twist though.. And the climax.. To this day, I still listen to this soundtrack from the drama and cry just thinking of the climax.

4. Into the Ring (also known as Memorials) (KBS2)

I didn’t even plan on watching this drama. I was channel surfing and saw Park Sung Hoon looking all depressed in the first episode and ran into Koo Se Ra. Girl was UNHINGED and determined to fight for her way.

Her motivation was initially on getting a stable pay check from being a district representative (it was only 60 million won which is like USD55k so it’s not that much) but she eventually became the district representative who fought for the benefit of the people and did not care for the political warfare that took place.

Came along Seo Gong Myung, a government officer in the local government office who was demoted from planning unit of the accounting department or something to be a secretariat to the district assembly. Seo Gong Myung sticks to his principle no matter what, which surprise surprise, is HATED by everyone in the district government.

Turns out our main leads were friends when they were kids so Se Ra kept teasing him and dragging him into her scheme of fighting for the people, which Gong Myung agreed to, not so much because he was a community-loving person, but because he was afraid Se Ra would get into trouble since she was as straight as a ruler.

Long story short, our leads fell for each other, and their relationship was HILAIROUS to watch. I think I speak for everyone who watched the drama that we had no reason to believe Se Ra did not peg Gong Myung for fun 😝😝

5. Kairos (MBC)

This is another drama that I stumbled into. Only this time, I saw Nam Gyu Ri and I remember seeing her ig post on a new drama so I decided to give it a go. She wrecked my heart in 49 Days so I decided to check this out for funsies. Hooo boy was I in for a major surprise.

The first two episodes got me hooketh!! I still cannot believe how the drama managed to keep me on my edge especially during the last 5 minutes of every episode. The pacing is even faster than Flower of Evil, and since this drama went back and forth between past and future, it keeps me guessing whether their efforts would bear fruit.

Will Kim “Sexy Brain” Seo Jin  and Han “I-Know-No-Fear” Ae Ri succeed in fighting the evil, who at this point in time remains unknown? I know Chairman Yoo Seo Il is currently being hinted as the culprit behind everything but I know better that he is just a puppet who sold his soul to the real devil who most likely is in the higher ranks in politics. I mean he even hinted at his remorse for what happened with Taejung Town 19 years prior. My suspicion is he is trying to cover up whatever happened because otherwise his own family would be at risk, so his only option is to redeem himself by doing something about the Taejung Town. I could be wrong, but regardless of who turns out to be the real villain in the story, I can say I am so satisfied by how the story has progressed so far.

The time paradox still hurts my brain, but I am choosing that this drama does not assume that time is linear.

There is still not enough people watching this drama and I’m begging you all to go and catch up before it ends in two weeks time.

6. More than Friends (JTBC)

A little trivia: I reblog most of the posts from @kdramastuff even if I am not watching the show at the point of reblogging the posts. I had been following her posts on this drama for 3 weeks, and I finally decided to marathon all 6 episodes and joined the watching party.

More than Friends was another drama that many people called a disappointment but I had a different opinion on it. Yes, I used to be the nerd who had different opinions on many things in high school sue me

The drama is premised on Kyung Woo Yeon who is said to have a crush on her high school friend, Lee Soo for 10 years. Lee Soo is nowhere near to be the perfect boyfriend material. He is selfish, does not care about other people’s feelings, and was always a lone ranger.

BUUUUUUT, Lee Soo seemed to show signs of care and affection (even though it was not at all for a normal person’s standard) for Woo Yeon. Surprisingly, he seemed to only do it for Woo Yeon and gave attention to Woo Yeon alone, even though he could practically pick and choose anyone he liked from the swarm of girls who were chasing him.

One day, he told Woo Yeon that he had to leave to the US to study, which made our girl sad. She decided to confess at the airport, but he outright turned her down, saying he only wanted to be friends with her. Over the time, they kept running into each other by coincidence (note: her name Woo Yeon is a wordplay on coincidence in Korean). Later, it was revealed that he wanted her to always be by his side, but he has built a wall as tall as the Great Wall of China before the idea of love so he didn’t realise what his true feeling for Woo Yeon was all along.

Woo Yeon, who felt sick of the ten-year crush, decided to end the “curse” and kissed him by the beach, thinking of getting a closure on her crush.

Long story short, Lee Soo finally realised his feeling for her and decided to confess, but by that time, a young, handsome, rich CEO of a conglomerate has entered into the picture. Cue the game of cat and mouse between Lee Soo and Woo Yeon about resentment, regret and relationship.

This drama was promoted as a romcom, but it feels more like a slice-of-life drama with a mix of melo and romcom in there. Seriously, I cried buckets watching this drama, not something you’d expect from a romcom. The dialogues were well-written, with each episode revolving around a specific theme. This was such a good drama coming from a rookie writer.

This drama did not have that many viewers to begin with, and many of those few people dropped it along the way, including the one who was responsible in getting me hooked into this drama :p  By the end of it, there were so few people talking about this drama in the tag (shout out to @dohyunsoo @have-yet-to-decide @starfire-s @thbn-anything​ for keeping me company to the very end of this drama)

This drama broke my record of screenshots per episode and total screenshots for any show. Until now, I have yet to finish posting them. I should probably upload more screenshots later tonight.

This drama had some AMAZING shots in the first half, with beautiful sceneries mostly in Seoul. It’s like what they said, “a daily occurrence for you, a trip for me”.

7. Oh My Baby (tvN)

I did not even remember watching this drama!! It was only after scrolling through my gallery that I saw I had shared some posts on my ig story about the drama.

It was in the middle of a lockdown when this drama aired and many of my memories from back then feel so distant to me.

The plot was not THAT good, but this drama is something you may consider if you like torturing yourself about the struggle of wanting to have a baby.

8. Once Again (KBS2)

Arguably one of the weekend family drama KBS2 in a while that kept me waiting for new episodes in front of my TV. Some people are turned off by weekend family drama because they tend to have slow pacing which makes viewers feel like they are being dragged to one of those boring corporate events that you would rather miss and wish you could be literally anywhere else.

Because this drama had more pairing than the typical weekend family drama, the story did take some time before it was on full momentum. It did feel like the drama could have been better with even one less sibling to worry about, but it was a fun watch in the middle of lockdown.

Will I watch it again? I’d rather rewatch House of Bluebird (starring Lee Joon Hyuk and Lee Sang Yeob as friends to enemies to friends again) because that drama spoke to me in a way that was more relatable. No hate to Once Again though. I just prefer House of Bluebird better.

Note: Justice for Song Ga Hee and her lovely son, Kim Ji Hoon. He had to grow up so much because of what happened to his mother, that it broke Ga Hee’s heart. And mine of course

9. Secret Forest 2 (tvN)

I watched Secret Forest once it has finished and I fell in love with the drama! Imagine my excitement when they announced Secret Forest 2 with my three main characters reprising their roles. No hate to Yoon Se Ah, I love her, but her screen time in Secret Forest was not enough to make me excited about her return. But I was pleased with her role in Secret Forest 2 and I hope if there is a third season, her character gets the redemption arc that she yearns for.

Secret Forest 2 was not as intense as the brilliant original, but I understood that it had to do with the overall theme of the season, and the theme required the script to be as such. Some people may argue me on this, but I still think what they pulled off was brilliant.

Too bad there was a severe lack of Lee Joon Hyuk on my screen though.

10. Tale of the Nine-Tailed (tvN)

Well. This drama went far beyond my expectation. The OTP was to die for. No such thing as miscommunication trope. This drama did not waste time on unnecessary drama. The pacing was incredibly fast, even faster than Kairos. Although to be fair, Kairos had to play with two different timelines and required time to establish the setting.

I’m sad about what happened to Lee Rang, but he did what he did, and he would never be able to erase that much pain from his memory even if the deities decided to be lenient on him because of his roles in killing off Imoogi. A fresh start as a human seemed like a fair reset to his life, and I hope he lives well, surrounded by people who love him.

I was never a fan of Jo Bo Ah (no hate on her, I was just indifferent) but this drama opened my eyes to what an incredible actress she is. I wish her a successful career ahead.

Kelsi looked at your appearance and then at Ayla’s quizzical expression. She grinned. “Y/N has another date.”

“What number is this?”

“The fifth one,” you admitted with a smile, searching in the small dish on the kitchen counter and letting out an aha when you found the missing pair to the earring you had put on before. After fastening it, you turned to your roommates and blinked expectedly. “Well, how do I look?”

“What’s the theme of this date?” Ayla enquired as you smoothed down your floral dress.

“Junmyeon has invited me over.”

“Over to where?” Kelsi suddenly asked as Ayla stood up and approached you.

“To his home?” You nodded at the guess and your friend whistled. “What happened to the woman I was praising for not needing a man?”

“She fell in love with a handsome prince,” Kelsi declared, kicking her legs about before narrowing her gaze on yours. “Does he have any hot friends, do you know?”

“I uh, haven’t met his friends. And it’s just for dinner; don’t get too hung up on it.”

“Never mind that! Did you prepare yourself?”

“What for?” you wondered and after examining Ayla’s expression, you nodded softly. “I’m ready for anything that might come my way.”

“Well then, why are you asking us what we think? You should be proposing that question to Junmyeon.”

“I’m not going to suddenly blurt out over dinner if he wants to see my lingerie,” you mentioned with a roll of your eyes, though you couldn’t deny the flutter in your stomach either.

After the heated kissing session in your office during the week, you couldn’t get the man off your mind. Now that you were free for the weekend, you were more than ready to see where all that kissing could lead to.

“Don’t leave out a single detail for us when you return,” Kelsi called as you felt the buzz of your phone letting you know Junmyeon was waiting downstairs and started to head to the front door.

Ayla smirked. “Tell us tomorrow morning. Don’t you dare come home any earlier than that!”

Laughing as you headed down to meet with Junmyeon, you stopped to compose yourself when you saw his vehicle up ahead. However, it didn’t last long. Junmyeon was leaning against the side of it, his smile evident from where you stood. Eager to get to him, you dashed over the grass verge and straight into his arms.

Junmyeon chuckled, holding you affectionately all the same. “Well hello there!”

“That wasn’t very ladylike of me.”

“But it was the real you, right?” he offered and after looking up at him, you nodded happily. “It’s a nice feeling to know you missed me that much.”

“As long as the feelings mutual,” you concluded and with the way he brushed his lips over your temples, you didn’t need a verbal answer. Staring up at the man, he then silently reached behind him for the door handle, swinging it open and assisting you inside. He even did up your seatbelt which made you giggle.

“What?” he asked when he was finally seated beside you, humour evident in his voice. “Was that too cliché for you?”

“I feel as if I stepped into a Korean drama just now.”

“Does a CEO who is naturally romantic and not overdramatically making the female lead’s life a living hell until he realises this is love actually exist in those?”

“You’re well-versed in kdrama?” you enquired and Junmyeon bit at his lip as he tried to navigate the early evening traffic. Leaning towards him, you held onto his arm. “You watch them?”

“We could watch one together after dinner if you like?” he offered and you laughed heartily.

“Don’t make me guess, you’re excellent in cooking and cut food like a culinary chef too?” you continued and it was his turn to laugh.

“I mean, I know how to cook. I can’t say I have major marks for presentation though.”

“I’ll help you. We can cook together!”

He darted his focus from the road to your face and then slipped his arm out of your hands, reaching to hold one instead. Your excitement eased, staring at the gesture. “You’re meant to be my guest tonight.”

“You’re the one trying to convince me we’re meant to be,” you pointed out and Junmyeon glanced at you again. You watched as his lips curled up in satisfaction.

“Is it working?”

“Maybe,” you confessed and then cleared your throat. “But cooking together is a must.”

You wished you could go back to the car ride where you had sounded so confident. Instead, you stood back as Junmyeon took the pot from the stovetop and dumped it in the sink, the sizzling of the temperature difference filling the room along with an awful stench.

You groaned loudly. Trust you to burn the potatoes completely.

“I ruined it,” you announced dejectedly and Junmyeon looked over his shoulder, shaking his head before dealing with the mess. You stepped forward, scrunching up your nose as you further inhaled the burnt smell. The potatoes had well and truly boiled away all their water and you clasped your head in your hand.

Arms wrapped around you. “We don’t need them, we still have the rest of the meal.”

“It’s my fault though. I wanted everything to go so smoothly for our dinner tonight.”

Junmyeon shook his head, tugging at your chin so you were staring up at him. “If we’re going to point fingers, it should be at me. I was the one who had you otherwise distracted up against that wall there.”

You tried not to smile, but the edges of your mouth shifted upwards. Junmyeon chuckled. “It’s just potatoes.”

“Did I lose brownie points in the kitchen for my less than stellar cooking skills?” you wondered and he shook his head, leaning in to kiss you briefly.

“Surely I’m not the first to come home with you,” you breathed with a laugh, going to step around Junmyeon and turn off the running tap. However, he held you there, his eyes unrelenting in their gaze. Your mouth fell apart. “I am?”

“I haven’t really made the effort to date much,” he explained softly.

“Then why did you choose to go out for dinner with me back then?”

For a moment, Junmyeon simply stared at you; searching your face for something you couldn’t quite comprehend and then blinked rapidly when the oven timer went off. Stepping aside from you to turn off the tap and then reach for the oven mitt, Junmyeon smiled. “Dinner’s ready.”

Junmyeon was subdued over dinner. Although he was still laughing and conversing well, there was a guarded wall within his eyes ever since that moment in the kitchen. You couldn’t decide if you were more intrigued or concerned and thus, your own mood dampened, both of you eventually falling silent over your empty plates.

“Do you want to head outside for some fresh air?” he offered and you nodded, picking up your dishes and took them into the kitchen before following Junmyeon outside. His house was already rather impressive and to find he had a decently sized garden out back made you smile.

“Oh wait here,” he instructed once on the patio, dashing back inside for a moment. You gasped when hundreds of fairy lights lit up around the backyard, turning it into a fairytale dream.

You really hoped that when you woke up from all of this, it wasn’t too painful to let go.

Junmyeon sensed your conflicted emotions and sought out your hand, squeezing it gently. “You okay?”

“I’m just thinking about all of this,” you admitted and he nodded in agreement. “You too?”

“Yeah.”

“You know, I often wonder if I made the right decision back then.” You gauged his expression before tugging him out onto the lawn, turning so you were facing him. “I was so adamant that we were too alike and dating you would lead to complacency.”

“Is that what it was?” he murmured, smiling with the solved puzzle. “I thought you weren’t attracted to me.”

“Are you kidding?!” you replied with a laugh and Junmyeon grinned momentarily before it fell off his face again. You stepped closer, running your hands up his chest before linking them behind his head. “Wanna tell me what’s on your mind?”

“It’s too soon,” he whispered and you blinked, your mind travelling to the three magical words you expected him to say. However, the moment passed with him simply staring at you and you waiting for something, anything.

Water shot up suddenly and you squealed, leaping into him with surprise before turning to see the sprinklers in the grass turn on all around you. After sharing a look with Junmyeon, you started to laugh and he joined you, not rushing from the spot you stood in as you should have.

Instead, when the laughter ceased, urgent kissing began, the heat of the kiss contrasting the chill to your body with the water soaking you through.

You realised then, you hadn’t been as prepared for tonight as you thought you were. Nothing had gone to plan. Whilst you still didn’t know what was on his mind, you decided to stop pressing for the serious moment.

It was too soon to lose the spark just yet.

omg... tbh photography is a great way to ?? learn about life?? does that make sense lol i started photography in 2013 and now i've shifted more into filming, writing and editing so it was a very nice shift and transition for me. i guess my getaway definitely includes writing fics, i'm on a video production intern right now too so i get to shoot in studios and edit the footage later on. i was supposed to go on a chill photoshoot with a friend but covid said fuck you LMAO but i might get paid to help my freshies do their committee photoshoot at the end of the year so that'll be a blast. i love brainstorming themes for photoshoots and like templating designs - i think i'm an all-rounded creative person, as in into creatives [not boasting about... my creativity] but i definitely love the freedom in expression and i'm starting to realise that i'm picking up every single medium i could possibly utilise to exploit this freedom of expression thing: writing, dancing, filming, photography, creative designs, you name it LOL

yes niki was a shawol!! he went for a tokyo dome concert of shinee's and key hugged him while he cried LMAO he said it was like 2014 or smth which meant that niki was fucken... 9... stanning enha has been a JOURNEY for me because all this while i've been stanning groups that are generally older than me. even with skz jeongin i began to feel a tad awkward because he's younger, and with txt i basically couldn't whole-heartedly stan them because 3/5 of them are younger than me... then you have enha whose maknae is younger than my sister?! like... fam... how... why... am i that old now... omg

yeah i am on holiday! my sem ended in late april and since then i've been pretty much rotting at home, handling my intern projects, writing, learning some choreos for more covers and sobbing over kdramas owo the tissues wasted LMAO i love this break for myself honestly cause the sem was such a shitshow and i lost a friend or two over some nonsense and i had conflict with a couple of others too so while i do miss their nonsense, i really need the time away from these idiots who act like 5 year olds sometimes

Scenario: Stray kids reaction to their significant other being a time traveller, but she has to return to the future.

General Plot:

The two of you were having the time of your life. Even though you were a test object and you ending up with him was an accident, you didn’t regret a thing. You were helping your father, who was seen as a crazy scientist with a time traveling project. He wanted to prove the government that it was possible. When he needed someone to test it out for him, he dragged you into this. He had no one else who he could trust, not even your own mother, so you helped him out.

When you ended up in Seoul somehow you were flabbergasted. Thank God that you spoke so many languages that your school in the future required you to master. You walked into him that day you arrived at Seoul, the city mesmerized you, since it was so different from what you had known. You weren’t looking where you were walking and bumped into him, both of you ending up on the ground.

He helped you up with a sweet smile and you two couldn’t help but stare. You knew that it wasn’t a smart idea to start relationships in this time, it could mess up the future or it could just leave you a heartbreak. You knew your father would call you back anytime soon, but you were wrong. Your dad managed to message you through the intelligent watch you two owned. He told you that the machine had broken and that it could take him over a month to fix it.

And that’s how you ended up in Seoul for three months.

(Your/Bias’/name) was very kind for you and arranged a small studio apartment for you. You didn’t know why he did that for you, but you couldn’t help but accept his kind offer, otherwise you would’ve been living on the streets in a country and city you had no idea about.

He was most of the time busy, since he was a performer, but he always seemed to have time for you. This was one of the reasons why you fell in love with him. And he couldn’t help falling in love with you. Within weeks, were you two a couple.

Right now you two were at the Han river, enjoying each other’s company as you ate some delicious food. You didn’t hear your watch going off as you were eating, but y/b/n did. He looked weirdly at the watch as he read a message on it.

‘From Dad: Honey! I’ve found a way to bring you back to the future! I’m going to call you back in fifteen minutes! Get ready!’ He read out loud. You would look at him with a confused, shooting your gaze at your watch as you realised what he just read out loud.

“W-what does that mean? The future? Y/n?” He stuttered, hoping that it was a prank or something. You couldn’t find the words when you looked at your boyfriend, who you loved so much. “A-are you a time traveller?” He asked carefully when he saw how your colour drained from your face, giving away how serious this was.

“P-please let me explain, I don’t have long.” You cried as you sat up straight, facing him. He held your hands as you explained him the story how you got stuck in this time and you dad had finally found a way to bring you back…

Chan:

Chan was in shock. The story seemed unbelievable, but as he thinks back about how you didn’t know anything about their technology. Saying she’s used to different, more advanced technology, he already thought it was strange.

Chan was now also crying. He noticed that she still had 5 minutes left. “Chan, I have to go back to the spot- I-I’m so sorry. I love you so much. I can’t thank you enough for the past months. I could never forget you. I hope you won’t forget me-“

“Isn’t there a way for you to come back to me? Or for me to come with you?” “I can’t take you with me my love, you had a life here. And I don’t know if there’s a way for me to come back.” You cried in his arms as the both of you had stood up.

“You can’t leave me just like this-“

“I really have to go Chan. I love you so much.” You whispered against his lips, before you ran back to the spot, where you dad would call you back.

Leaving the love of your life behind, who you may never could return to. And leaving Chan, who never got the chance to say ‘I love you’ back.

Woojin:

Woojin couldn’t believe your words, but he saw you panic and tried to calm your cries down. “I love you so much, I don’t want to leave you, but if I don’t, I may ruin everything.” You whispered in his neck as he hugged you tight.

Woojin didn’t know what to do, he pulled you away and leaned back in to kiss you, not knowing if he could ever again. “I don’t want you to go baby, please tell me this is a joke.” He cried out as you tried to break free from his embrace.

“Please my love, don’t make this harder for me than it already is.” You started to sob into his arms as you broke down mentally. You weren’t ready to leave him, why couldn’t your dad give you more time?

“I’m so sorry. Don’t forget about me, I love you so much Woojin.” You whispered against his lips, feelings that his arms loosened grip around your waist, giving you a chance to break free and run off. Leaving the young man alone in the park with tears streaming down his face.

Minho:

Minho thought that this was some sick kind of a joke. He scoffed and didn’t wanted to believe you after you explained that you were actually a time traveller.

“Minho please you have to believe me.” “Why should I? I know this is some joke.” He scoffed once again. You were about to have an anxiety and a panic attack at the same time. You couldn’t think about something to do, to handle this. You still had five minutes left to make it back to the assigned spot where your dad would call you back, but the man who you loved so much wasn’t n believing a word you said.

“Minho, take my necklace. If I do not come to pick it up tomorrow, and if I’m not at home, it will mean that I’m back in my own time. I-I love you so much-“ “Y/n this is ridiculous-“ “Minho please!” You yelled, forcing him to take it. You kissed his lips, tasting your salty tears as they streamed down your face. Minho was confused and a little worried. He called after you when you ran off, being left with so many questions, a tingling sensations that was left on his lips from your kiss and the necklace that you left behind.

The only thing he could be reminded off by you.

Changbin:

Changbin froze as he listened to your explanation. He was on the verge of tears. You were panicked since he didn’t react to your story at all. The time was ticking and you were about to be called back. You started crying yourself. You leaned in to kiss him, he was still frozen in his spot, but his lips slightly moved in cinq with you.

You told him you loved him before you stood up and started to ran off. When you stood up, he snapped out of his trance. He realised hat he was about to lose you, he stood up as well and ran after you. He caught you in his arms and broke down as he hid his face in the crook of your neck, begging you to stay. You were crying as well as you leaned back into Changbin’s chest. 

“Please don’t forget about me.” He cried. ��I could never my love.” You whispered, kissing him once again, before disappearing from his life.

Hyunjin:

Hyunjin became a crying mess as you explained the situation. He believed every single thing you told him. It felt like a Kdrama, but sadly he was part of  it and it didn’t seem to be having a good end. He was holding you tightly as you cried into his shoulder. He was whispering how much he loved you and begging you to take you with him.

Both of you were a crying mess. His arms around you, holding you tighter when you tried to get away from him. 

“I have 6 minutes left baby.” You whispered, your voice breaking as you spoke. He was on his knees, begging and crying to you to stay. “You know I can’t my love, but I have to go. I love you so much.” Hyunjin looked up to you with sad eyes and got back on his feet. You saw him taking off the necklace that meant so much for him and put it around your neck, before you could object, he had pressed his lips on yours one last time, before you ran out of his life, just like that.

Jisung:

Jisung didn’t know what to do, he ran after you as you disappeared after explaining what happened. He was panicking and panting, not knowing where you went or what to do. He was frantically looking around, he was even calling your name. He didn’t even had the chance to say goodbye, to tell you he loved you. You just disappeared like that. Was he too late?

Jisung almost broke down in the middle of the park, when he suddenly had a glimpse of you. He ran up to you and brought you into a hug as he cried into your shoulder. “If you’re leaving me, let me do it properly. I love you, I don’t want you to go. Please don’t forget about me.” He spoke fast, scared you could disappear just like that once again.

You had turned around, tears streaming down your face. You couldn’t make out a lot of words, but pressed your lips against his quietly. He closed his eyes, frozen in his spot. When he didn’t feel your lips against his anymore, he opened his eyes to see nobody in front of him. He noticed something glistering on the ground, it was your diamond necklace. He picked it up and broke down once again. He just lost the love of his life.

Felix:

Felix was angry at you for not telling him earlier. If you did, he could’ve made more time for you, cherished more moments with you if they were so rare. You were taken aback by his reaction when he started to rant to you. You kept looking at your watch, six minutes left.

“F-Felix, I have to go.” You stuttered sadly. He looked at you, feeling distressed and sad. Everything hadn’t sunken in yet and his anger hadn’t settled down yet. “Fine! Go ahead! Leave!” He snapped. “Felix.” You exclaimed softly. He didn’t look at you as you cried, not hearing you sniffling as well.

“I love you so much, I’m sorry Lix.” You whispered, pressing a quick kiss on his cheek, before running off. After you kissed him, he realised that you were gone. He tried chasing you, but he lost sight of you, causing him to break down in tears himself. Because the last memory that you will have of him is him yelling at you and guilt was eating him alive, because he never got the chance to tell you that he loves you.

Seungmin:

Seungmin was on the edge of crying, but he tried to stay strong and just pulled you in a hug. He kissed your tears away before you start walking. You were slightly confused by his actions and asked what he was doing.

“If you have to leave, I might as well cherish every single second I have left with the love of my life.” He whispered against your lips, making your heart flutter yet ache. He was making this harder for you, but you too wanted to be with him even if it would left only a few more minutes.

You two arrived at the spot and Seungmin couldn’t help, but let the tears roll down his cheeks. You cupped them before kissing his lips sweetly. “You’re the best thing that ever happened to me, I love you so much and I’m so sorry.” You cried in a whisper as you hid your face in the crook of his neck.

“It’s okay love, just don’t forget about me.” And within a blink of an eye, you disappeared out of his life, leaving the young boy feeling empty. You had taken his heart with you.

Jeongin:

He didn’t understand, he didn’t wanted to understand. He wanted you to lie to him. To say that this was some joke, but your tears told a different story. He was panicking. His breath were short and quick and his hands were rubbing his temples as he tried to process everything.

He felt like he couldn’t speak to you. You tried to snap him out of his train of thoughts but he was in too deep. You were now panicking as well. You would be too late to be called back and it could cause major trouble. You had to leave.

You tried to make it clear to Jeongin that you had to leave. When he didn’t respond. You pressed a long sweet kiss on his forehead and ran. Minutes later, Jeongin had processed the whole thing and realised that he was too late. He didn’t know where you ran to, he didn’t know if he ever told you that he loved you. But it seemed to late now, you had gone back to where you belonged. And sadly, he wasn’t part of it.

Binge Craze September

This month has been quite busy for me regarding my kdrama addiction, and I thought that a little update on what has been going in my life would be nice... I haven’t had a good sleep in a while, and my health-sleep tracking app is acting accordingly to prepare for my soon-to-take-place funeral.

I’m going to include a rating for the dramas regarding their bingeability according to my fucked up sleep schedule, which is very accurate and just rating system, excuse you.

Her Private Life (2019) [10/10]

The source of the paintings and the source of Kim Jae Wook’s handsomeness kept me from closing my eyes till 6 a.m. Dramas that light and effortless will be the death of me. It was a nice romantic drama, but it had some heavy emotional moments as well. My friend who also got around to finally watching this drama actually thought we’re going to enjoy it together for a while and discuss every detail. YOU FOOL. I’m a heartless binger, and once I finished this one, I didn’t even blink before I started watching another.

The Guest (2018) [8/10]

I had it on my “golden dramas” list for a long while. I noticed I have tendency to leave out the best dramas for later as safe bets. I have no idea what happened, maybe I was worn off after Her Private Life, but I only stayed up till 3 a.m. to watch it. And it kinda wasn’t the best idea to watch it at night... I mean, I guess it has a horror tag for a reason. However, this one was truly a mild one, so no harm done. Whatever was left of my sanity is still intact. And I got my stolen watch time back during the day. I couldn’t possibly be stopped with that little nap, especially when actors did such a great job and the plot was very unique.

Signal (2016) [9/10]

I really went all the way with treating myself this month with good dramas. I’m sure you can understand why it got rating this high. The secrets in this one are laid in a thick layer, so I was watching it without blinking, not to mention sleeping. I finally got my beauty sleep at 5 a.m. Yay health. The best part of Signal was definitely Lee Jae Han fighting workplace discrimination single-handedly. Woke men are sexy. Signal is also a brilliant commentary on the biggest cold cases in Korea. It is clear the research that went into making this drama was intense, and you can really learn a lot from it.

Life on Mars (2018) [7/10]

We didn’t have a good start. Life on Mars isn’t that fast paced at the beginning, and my WiFi connection started acting up at that time. I’m pretty sure it was a serious case of an assassination of my internet provider on the binge status of these series. My mood went down, and honestly, the action at that point didn’t pick up the pace, so we had a hard time. The biggest mystery wasn’t actually a mystery, and the writers put all important cards on the table indicating where the plot is going. But all things worthy sometimes need that effort, and I’m glad I found my pace again. Life on Mars hit me hard, and like the big masochist I am, I really enjoyed the ending.

The Undateables/ Handsome Guy and Jung Eum (2018) [6/10]

I got hooked within the first 10 minutes of this drama. It was very smooth and easy to watch. I enjoyed these little gestures and facial expressions that appeared here and there, making it 10 times more silly and 10 times more bubbly. It was very addictive and very much appreciated after that row of brilliant, but heavy dramas I went through on my own accord. It’s not a big piece of art, but I searched for some sweet sweet couple moments and I got them, so the winner is probably still me. I took it easy with this one though. It wasn’t action packed or that gripping to pull an all-nighter, but definitely a good way to spend my time.

When The Devil Calls Your Name (2019) [7/10]

I added this title to the list, but it was actually binged in 75%. Math queen right here! Staying up all night doesn’t fry all of your cells, see? From the day episode 1 was uploaded I did a serious stake out on this title. Observing and calculating. I knew I wanted to binge it all, but it took sooooo long to end. I snapped right before episodes 13 & 14 came out. This drama is a gold mine of really good OST songs. The plot was literally flowing, and I didn’t even notice how I got from episode 1 to episode 12. I agree that it became a little draggy around episode 13, that’s why I lowered the rating a little bit. However, the ending totally got me, and I still can’t get it out of my head, it was so wholesome.

Bring It On, Ghost/ Hey Ghost, Let’s Fight (2016) [5/10]

This drama could be described as a “classic beauty”. It definitely follows the basic form of a good drama, and it is addictive to the point of no return. It was fun, but took me a while to finish, I have no idea why. I noticed that even though I lost my pace after 5th episode, I picked it up back again when I got neat the end. Bring It On, Ghost is full of action scenes, and it has a very consistent and interesting plot, and supernatural elements in it, so I’m very surprised I didn’t finish it faster. Guess it wasn’t the right time and place.

Queen In Hyun’s Man/ Queen and I (2012) [10/10]

I went full old-school with this drama, didn’t I? It was overloaded with typical couple drama like amnesia, big inheritance, and politics. Do you smell that? It’s the good stuff. I was smitten with the chemistry of the main couple here, I couldn’t stop myself from smiling. Very thick chemistry, very nice to look at. We can fawn over how good Yoo In Na and Lee Dong Wook look together in Goblin, but Yoo In Na and Ji Hyun Woo were the OG couple back in the day. I just couldn’t wait till Kim Boong Do finally admits that he, in fact, is a player so I barely stopped to drink and eat. I have no idea how long did I stay up, but the morning sun greeted me through the window alongside In Na’s bright smile through my computer screen.

Laughter In Waikiki 2/ Welcome to Waikiki 2 (2018) [6/10]

It is a tricky one, because one does not simply laugh at 4 a.m. in a house full of sleeping fussy people.The beginning and ending kept the class of the first Waikiki, but I guess the A-class humour got lost in the middle. Don’t get me wrong, it was really funny, but I found myself laugh out loud less than I did during the first one. However, the romantic aspect got me good. If I were to mention one big reason why you should watch it, it’s the Romance in Waikiki. The romantic element of the plot was written well, and it was very neat that they referenced past characters too. The episodic skit format is not perfect to binge, it’s more of a watch two episodes this week, and next two probably next week. At least for me.

Be Melodramatic/ Melo Suits Me (2019) [9/10]

There was no way for me to stop watching this after I hit a play button. Not only the drama is damn interesting, taking the form of an ultimate meta-drama, it has some nice winks to all kdrama manias like me. You can see them in small things, e.g. when Reply series were mentioned, PDs added the goat sound effect, or when Jin Joo said that Director Son kind of reminds her of Jung Bong from Reply 88, and bigger ones, when a lot of kdrama hits were put as a background music, e.g. ALMOST PAAAAARAAAAADISE from BOF, She is from My name is Kim Sam Soon or Appear from Secret Garden. It took me by surprise that even though the general atmosphere of Be Melo is kind of serious, they easily went over that fourth wall with light steps, and overall this drama keeps a nice balance between humour and sadness. And that song... every time I wash my hair... among the swaying flowers I can smell your shampoo’s scent... Play it at my funeral, I beg you.

It was a fun month of escapism and running away from my responsibilities. I had a little break at the beginning of this year, so I’m glad I caught up with some dramas I’ve been planning on watching for a while now and new ones I couldn’t wait to watch. I feel happy with the outcome. I hope you’re happy with my rating as well. See you in the next one.

Highlight of my life when i’m in undergraduate school (lots of new experience)

Well hello again Tumblr! I can’t believe the last time I still surfing around this platform was in 2014? 2015? long time no see huh?

I don’t know where to start. There’s so many things happened to me the past few years. Okey let start from my undergraduate times. It’s quite hectic but I still able to enjoy the time hanging out with my friends in college, high school, and choir organization because i love to sing but i’m shy to sing alone sooo yeah. I was single at the time but I keep busy hanging out with all my friends and doing organization so I don’t have time to feel lonely hahaha. 

There’s nothing special between 2014 until early 2016. The good things started in the end of 2016. Back in 2016, I was even participating in choir competition in regional and international section. And we won! wow the hard works in 3 months has paid off.  5 months after that, I went to Bandung for study trip with my colleagues. You know how study trips are. More the fun than the study hahaha. 

1 month after that, I went to BTS Concert in Jakarta! wow it’s quite fun experience because I’ve never been attending kpop concert before, thus my first bias are SUJU and BIGBANG but i’ve never been come to one of their concerts haha poor me. The craziest thing about that are I did that just with one of my friend Dita. She was the want who persuaded me to watch that concert even though she just liked BTS 2 months before. Hahaha before that she was not even into kpop. People are so easy to falling in love sometimes. We travelling from Jogja to Jakarta by train at night to avoid spend another night at hotel haha we’re so thrifty that time. It was one of the best experience ever for me to watch and see the kpop artist in real life. It felt surreal seeing their glowing face and how white and smooth they are. 

A few days after that, I went to KOREA!!! KYAAAAAA that was the highlight of that year. My friends are so jealous at that time because they knew i was just watched kpop concert and then i went to their country like its not enough just watching them hahha. But i went there not because just an usual holiday, me and my family (-devan) and a few of my parent’s friends were attending the 4life Convention. It held every year in random country to celebrate their birthday or something. I was stay in Korea for a week i guess? whatever. I still can’t believe at that time, i’m in a country where i was always dream to come. I even know a few of their history and spoke a little bit of their language with the natives. Thus i just learned their language on my own by watching lots of kdrama and listening to their song all the time. I’m quite proud of my self hahha. It was another highlight of the year. 

1.5 month after that I did my campus program called KKN or some kind of community service program. The location i got was in Selo, Boyolali, Central Java. Thank God the elements or the vibe in that village was soooo damn cold even in the day time we have to wear jacket and socks to prevent the cold. But i love the weather so much. Even though i kept shivering when touch the water. But it was so refreshing. I prefer freezing than sweating. That was one of the best thing has happened in my KKN. Another good things were my unit members! we’re so get along together like we already knew each other for a long time and becoming like family. It also because we live together in one house so we met eerrrrday for one full month. The bonus were almost all the boys in my unit were handsome in my preference. Except for one, the oldest. I even got a boyfriend from there!. His name is Febiyanto. His Major was economic. He’s Javanese lives in Bekasi (Yes, we are having long distance relationship now). Febi and I are at the same year at college but I’m older at age. He is the maknae, the childish and the goofiest among us. He likes to tease me. It makes more obvious that he likes me a lot wkwk. He is the first to like me. And me? i’m trying to blending with everyone to live the fullest of my KKN lyfe hahaha. Fyi, I still having a relationship with him until now. We are in our 3rd year now (almost). This is the longest relationship i’ve been in to. We already met our eachother’s parent. I already went to his house while i’m having some business in Jakarta but he never went to my house yet. 

After KKN finished, we started doing our thesis. it’s hectic but relax at the same time. I have so many spare time but my head is full. But we enjoyed it. Febi and me help each other’s thesis. We spent almost of our time together because we have no classes to attend anymore. I often went to his place to play or pick him up because his place was nearer to the city than mine. He lived in a rented house together with his college friend so it’s quite safety for different gender like to play there. So on, in 2018, we graduated together in the same day yeeey. But the saddest part is he has to go back to his home in Bekasi and me too have to go back home to Pekanbaru :( and that’s when our long distance relationship and our new phase in life begin...

I've always love korean dramas and have been watching them since 2009 but korean music has never caught my attention until recently. Here are some of my favorite korean songs that you might like. I recommend these songs because these are the first  kpop songs I've ever listened to and I think you might like it as much as I do. Aside from their music, I also love how they do their music videos. They put great effort on making new video concepts and it's just different. 

Anyway, I made a playlist of these songs on Spotify which you can follow. Also, feel free to send me (kpop) song recommendation that you think I'll like based on the playlist I made.

1. Wild and Young by Kang Seung Yoon

Actually, this is the first korean song that I’ve liked and learned. I remember asking my sister (who’s a kpop fan for as long as I can remember) for a song that I can use for our Travel Diary in South Korea and she told me about this. She recommended a lot of kpop songs but I ended up using this because it is an upbeat song and I really like it. I played this for almost one month and memorized some of the lines. This is probably my favorite Kpop song of all time. 

2. Palette by IU

Palette is my go-to kpop song. I love the tune and the lyrics! I swear, if you listen to it, you can’t help yourself but sing a long even if you don’t know the lyrics. I played this for 2 weeks straight, even in the shower. I also like the concept of the music video because it really shows who IU is. 

3. Man In Love by Infinite

Infinite is my sister’s favorite kpop group and I didn’t know they were this good. I like their dramas but I just listened to their song recently. This is the first Infinite song I’ve ever listened and It's really nice. This is the song that I used in my (revised) Travel Diary in Korea. Take a few minutes to listen and you won’t regret.

4. Hide & Seek by ASTRO

This one is from my (only) favorite kpop group, ASTRO. I’ve never imagined I’d stan a kpop group until I found ASTRO. I watched their webdrama “To Be Continued” and fell in love with them and their music. Their songs are playful, cool, young, and fresh and I really like it. I even watched their dance practices and one day, I may spend some time learning the dance steps of this song even if I really can’t dance (yes this is how much I like this song). I’m not being a bias here but I think all of their songs are a catch unlike any other group. (Stop throwing potatoes at me). Plus they are adorable and cute. 

5.Love Scenario by iKon

I used to shade this song because I keep on insisting that the opening part (chorus) sounds like an international song, Timber. But after playing it for several times, I found myself singing it every single day. Lol, this one can leave you LSS and you won’t even complain because of how good this song is. If I’m going to stan another group, I think it might be iKon because damn, one of their members leave my breathless.

6. Can’t Help Myself by Eric Nam

Eric Nam is one of my favorite solo artist. I found him because he covered “Beautiful” by Crush in English. And since then, I started listening to his songs. This song is one of my favorite from his records because it’s really catchy and the lyrics were written perfectly. I love how he sings and how he steals my heart everything he dances and smiles. Listen to this and you might fall in love with him. You can thank me later.

7. It’s You by Henry

I found this song when I was watching “While You Were Sleeping” because it is one of their OST. I’ve listened to this for a while before I realized that it is a pure english song! Lmao, I must’ve been carried away by Henry’s beautiful voice that I didn’t notice it. I’ve always like his songs (he sang a lot of Kdrama OSTs) but this is my favorite so far. 

8. Pick Me by Wanna One

I hear this song everywhere and I might say that this song is really addicting. I always find myself singing the words “Naya na, Naya na” to the point that it annoys people around me lmao. You guys, listen to this and the next thing you know, You are addicted the song HAHAHAH. My sister stans Wanna One and I hate to admit it but their song is really good and I like it lmao.

Yoon Jisung: host and the one who is in charge of the food. constantly yelling his greetings from the kitchen because Susan fcked up and bought a cold turkey instead of the heated kind. Put a lot of effort into arranging the buffet table and even bought a $58.99 limited edition tablecloth to ‘spice things up’. Will yell at you if you turn up with unseasoned food - everyone will. His presents are always high-quality DIY things and wrapped with love - ribbons, stickers and a handmade card. Makes a praiseworthy Christmas pudding. His casserole is the only one that won’t end up in the trash or thrown out by the kids. Will fight you if you talk bad about his cooking or his party. Once stayed up two nights just to perfect the batter for his Christmas log cake.

Ha Sungwoon: gossip uncle/aunt, he knows everything about everyone. A sly savage/mean. ‘Oh, Anna, I heard your daughter ran away from home because you wouldn’t let her date that junkie of a boyfriend she has, pity. Hope to see her soon.’ *saunters away with a wine glass in hand* in charge of bringing the wine and alcohol every year. ‘Sungwoon sweetie, isn’t that your fourth glass?’ ‘Ahh, Patricia, is that your fifth husband?’ Is drunk and has to be driven home but he remembers the whole night in detail and will tell stories about it. Buys a PS4 for your brother but a pair of Daiso socks for you because it was last minute when he remembered you existed. Stirs up a mean cocktail but will only offer it to Minhyun or Jisung. Orders more food when they seem to be running low - he has a knack for knowing things like that.

Hwang Minhyun: the uncle who you didn’t know about until 2 days before the party. Single. Quiet, drinks his beer in a corner. Only talks to his brother and close cousins. Stays close to Jaehwan and Sungwoon. Dresses extremely well, a chaebol and always has a colour scheme. After a couple of drinks, he’s hogging the karaoke machine and belting out 80s bops. A rich uncle who gifts unnecessarily expensive gifts. ‘Uncle Minhyun...you do realise that the Gucci sneakers you gave me are-.’ ‘Shush, accept it.’ He spoils all the young kids because he doesn’t have any of his own. Gifts each one baby Yeezys.

Ong Seongwoo: the fun young uncle everyone loves to see. The kids love him and dash to greet him immediately because they know he’ll play with them all night. More like a brother than an uncle. He and his girlfriend/boyfriend always rival Minhyun for the title of ‘best-dressed’. They always coordinate their outfits. It’s cute. A fun uncle who plays pool with you and won’t tell your parents if you pick up a can of alcohol. The uncle you can rely on if you’re dead drunk. Allows you to eat more even when you’re dieting. Will follow your wish list exactly so you always expect to receive it from him. He makes ramen even after walloping his share of the buffet. Offers to add chicken and beer to Sungwoon’s FoodPanda/UberEats delivery. ‘Pepperoni pizza sounds good too.’

Kim Jaehwan: strange uncle but very talented so he leads everyone in carolling or praise and worship. The conductor of the church choir so he brings his skills to the living room. ‘A 5,6..a 5,6,7..8! Jingle bells, jingle bells - TIMMY! YOUR NOTE IS TOO AIRY LET’S TRY THIS AGAIN.’ Gossips to Uncle Sungwoon a lot. ‘Listen, I heard Martha fought with Grand aunt Ellen over a fcking curtain.’ Will talk to you about random or embarrassing things - probably in front of your parents. ‘Hey, I heard you got a tattoo on your underwear line, did it hurt?’ Unintentionally. Says he’s full after one plate of the buffet but hogs the snack table. ‘Is there any more salsa?’ You love him. Gifts really random but useful things such as mall vouchers. Like it’s a standardised gift for the nieces and nephews of this age.

Kang Daniel: cousin you just got out of his National Service and tells everyone war stories about it. Pats you on the back every time he sees you. He’s just glad he made it out of army alive and that his electric fly swatter didn’t get taken away from him. Host number 2 but no matter the location, he makes sure to bring his beloved cats along. The kids throw a fanfare when they spot Daniel taking his pet carriers out of his backseat. Also takes care of bringing games, be it board games, computer games, he’s got them all. Provides snacks. If he got the job of feeding his baby nieces and nephews, he’ll tempt them with jellies. ‘If you finish this now, I promise I’ll give you a gummy bear later and won’t tel your mother.’ A professional at ‘Just Dance’.

Park Jihoon: the hot cousin who is responsible for organising this whole event. Surprisingly good at his job. Got the colour scheme, games, presents, food and activities all in check in a week. Greets everyone with a hug. His Christmas outfit is rather questionable though....but moving on! The whole family swoons at his good looks and everyone throws a huge fuss when he says he’s single. Jihoon Instagrams and Snapchats the entire party the whole night so the world knows that the Park family Christmas is LIT. Only allows award-winning songs/artists to be played. Gets very competitive when Daniel wants to play ‘Just Dance’. - there’s fury in his eyes. Yet he’ll get all shy and blush when a small cousin asks him about kisses and mistletoe. If the family plays ‘Murderer’, they’ll have a hard time because all Jihoon does is wink.

Park Woojin: oh gosh. the awkward cousin who came back from studying abroad and has an accent. Everyone thinks he’s faking it because uhh how does your accent change in just 5 months ? Only talks to Jihoon and is almost quieter than Minhyun. That’s until he’s warmed up and now you can hear him screaming as he’s playing tag with the kids. ‘HELP SOMEONE SAVE ME.’ Is surprisingly good at playing pool and ‘Just Dance’. Daniel’s spot as dance king is suddenly heavily threatened. A sweetheart who compliments everyone on their effort and Jisung is practically glowing from the praise his turkey received. Engages everyone with story time of his studies abroad. ‘Oh...we don’t have that over there but we have...’ that sort of thing. Smiles really brightly for pictures and when giving out gifts it gives people heart attacks

Bae Jinyoung: the cute but super shy friend of your cousin who tagged along for the party. Hides in the kitchen or pretends to be getting something from the table every time you try to talk to him. A total cinnamon roll - will help you take food or get more drinks if you mindlessly complain about that to your aunt. Keeps stuffing his face with cookies so that he doesn’t have to talk. Too shy to volunteer to play ‘Just Dance’ but your cousin pushes him up there anyway. EVERYONE WAS SHOOKT HE IS SO TALENTED. Also received recognition for his good looks. ‘So,,,Jinyoung right? I have a child around your age, would you be interested?’. Everyone wanted to become his friend. Blushes easily, especially when you bumped into him under the mistletoe, poor boy ran for his dear life. Spends most of the night with Daniel’s cats.

Lee Daehwi: the nephew who decorated Jisung’s house for this occasion. Put effort into making everyone an ugly Christmas sweater. Each and every year, gifts from him are packaged differently. Has a crush on Jinyoung. Over enthusiastic, he arrived at Jisung’s house at 10am to ‘get ready’. Becomes super happy and cheerful while decorating. Stole a couple of cookies from the jar before the party even began. Unfortunately, he gets flustered and upset when no one pays attention to his obvious Christmas joy...or when he’s too short to reach the top of the Christmas tree to pin the star. How cute. Has a different prop for each carol he sings. Acts more of a host than Jisung is and never forgets to give a cuddle to the cats, he even slips them bits of turkey or ham. Takes this opportunity to catch up with all his extended family and see if anyone has connections to the party planning world.

Lai Guanlin: your youngest ‘tween’ cousin who regrets coming. Anti-social, only answers questions and talks to the elders out of respect. On his phone the whole time, probably Tweeting about how much he doesn’t want to be here. ‘Mum,,,can we go yet?’ He’s only here for the food and presents. Wore all black even though Daehwi and Jihoon cleared stated that this year’s colour theme was GOLD. Cheers up a little after feasting but he won’t indulge in conversation immediately. Likes to secretly tune into Jaehwan’s and Sungwoon’s gossip. Watches Minhyun’s Kdrama behind his back and observes how cuddly Ongniel gets. Jihoon refuses to let him be the DJ or choose the Christmas movie and it’ll stay like that for a long time. He only gets soft and cute when Daniel’s cats are around. Most likely to get the most expensive gift from Minhyun.

Ten Questions, Ten Answers: Kdrama Edition

I was tagged by the lovely Sofia @floatingdownthemoonriver Thank you so much much for tagging me! 

1. Do you have any actors/ actresses who you think are over rated? Along with their works? Anyone where you just don’t see the mass appeal? 

 Ji Sung. I don’t even know why. Sometimes about him just doesn’t click with me. The only drama of his that I’ve completed was Protect the Boss. I’ve tried watching other dramas where he’s the lead and I can’t bring myself to get past the first episode. I have nothing against him, I just don’t see his appeal. 

 2. Are there any dramas you liked but would tweak certain aspects of to make them perfect? If so, which ones and what would you tweak, change or add?  

If I could change anything it would be the ending of Ms. Temper and Nam Jung Gi. It has an open ending where you're left with the feeling that Ok Da Jung and Nam Jung Gi ended up together, but I would make it clear by adding a kiss scene. 

 3. Top three favourite actresses?  

Kim Seul Gi – she’s my all-time favourite actress. I’ll watch her in anything. I watched an episode of Happy Together just because she was a guest. I really want to see her as the lead in drama. She’s leading lady material. She’s wonderful in everything she does and needs more recognition. 

Yoo In Na – She’s flawless and she needs more main roles. She’s also leading lady material and needs more recognition. If I could give casting directors one piece of advice, it would be to stop casting minors opposite adult men and cast these two instead. 

Lee Sung Kyung – She can take on such different roles and slays every time. 

4. What’s the drama world you would like to live in? Is it a goblin world, a mermaid world, a world with a royal monarchy, a world where you could be a ceo at the age of 20 just because of the golden family business? You can include general setting or houses you wouldn’t mind staying in. 

I wouldn’t mind being a chaebol heir but I wouldn’t want to be the eldest that inherits the company because I don’t like being the center of attention. I’d want to be someone like Min Hyo Won in Laurel Tree Tailors who gets to have a good job in the company without being in the spotlight. 

5. Top three dramas where you loved the fashion/ outfits/ costumes? 

Legend of the Blue Sea – Jun Ji Hyun can wear anything and still look flawless. I really liked the costumes in the sageuk part and the mermaid costume. 

I really like everything that Lee Yoo Ri’s character wears in Father is Strange. It’s so classy and elegant. I also love that it shows wearing glasses as glamourous and makes me feel happy about wearing glasses. 

I loved the outfits worn by Gong Yoo as Kim Shin in Goblin. 

6. Top three dramas where you did NOT love some of the fashion/ style choices made?  

Beautiful Gong Shim – I hated that Minah had to wear a wig for so long. I hated that they made Gong Shim wear unflattering clothes, which made her like a child for most of the drama. They did nothing to show Minah’s natural beauty (except for the last episode where she looked flawless.) 

Kim Tan’s ugly sweaters in Heirs. 

Kim Joo Won’s infamous sequinned track suit in Secret Garden. It was just hilarious. 

7. Who’s your dramaland hubby/ wife? (mine’s baek in ho ;p) your dream partner? Who is it. Your dramaland soul mate?

8. Any dramas you thought had wasted potential?  

The K2. It had so much potential but I felt like it fell short in every possible way. My love for Ji Chang Wook couldn’t save it. Song Yoon Ah’s brilliant performance couldn’t save it. 

The Heirs. They had a stellar cast of top actors and they wasted it. They could have done so much with it. First of all, why did both male leads have to be jerks? Second of all, why did the main pairing have to have such an unhealthy relationship. The side couple is the only thing I liked about this drama. They even wasted BTOB and VIXX cameos. If you’re gonna have a kpop group make an appearance in a drama at least tell the audience who they are and let us hear a full song. I didn’t even know who these groups were until much later when I watched N in Sassy Go Go and Sungjae on WGM. 

9. Two dramas where you loved the ost?  

Descendants of the Sun is my favourite OST in kdrama history. It’s the first drama where I loved every single song. I remember waiting for weeks for the K.Will OST to be released. I still listen to it regularly. My favourite songs include: Always – Yoonmirae, You Are My Everyting – Gummy, Talk Love – K.Will 

The second OST that sticks out to me is Uncontrollably Fond. The drama wasn’t my favourite but the OST was outstanding. My favourite songs include: Picture in My Head – Kim Woo Bin, Don’t Push Me – WENDY & Seulgi, Only U – Junggigo 

There are also specific songs that I love: 

- You’ve Fallen for Me – Jung Yong Hwa (Heartstrings). This is how I discovered CNBLUE and it will always have a special place in my heart  - Listen to My Heart – Melody Day (Tomorrow’s Cantabile)  - Forever Love – HEABIN (Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim)  - Shiny Boy – JOY (The Liar and His Lover)  - Honourable mention to the instrumental OST of Signal. 

10. What do you think is the most iconic kdrama?  

I had a tough time coming up with an answer for this one. It ultimately came down to Secret Garden. I’ll admit that it’s not perfect but it was my first kdrama; therefore, it will always be special to me. This is the drama that started. It’s only right that it gets the title of most iconic from me. It has all the classic kdrama tropes plus fantastical elements. You have the jerky CEO male lead who falls in love at first sight with a strong independent female lead who initially wants nothing to do with him. This drama takes the gender bender trope to another level when the leads switch bodies. Shall I remind you of the iconic coffee foam kiss scene that was recreated in Reply 1988? The OST still gives me all the feels. Yoon Sang Hyun will always be Oska to me. I still wish for Hyun Bin and Ha Ji Won to be reunited in a drama because their chemistry was off the charts.

The Relevance of Spike - stakeaclaim -  this is the way season 5 Angel should have gone.  The Relevance of Spike - Author: stakeaclaim -   "It was a big day. A hundred and twenty-five years. A quarter of the way through his second century and he’d decided today was the day it was all going to change" And it all does change, though not in ways any reader could expect. It's long, unpredictable, and intricate, and it will keep you up all night reading. Spike/Angel

Go No More A-Roving  - thea_bromine - Warnings – this is a Deathfic. Mind you, it’s largely about Spike, so it would be a Deathfic on account of Spike not being altogether alive. However, I’m warning you, death happens to a major character. Well, to Giles. Both beautifully written, and quite funny, with excellent voices. If you had the chance to live on would you do it in a vampire’s body? Even if it means sharing that body with it’s owner - Spike? It has a sequel on the same page with WWP as a main character - filled with delicious snark. Giles/Spike (but not in the usual way)

Three Lions - Lesley - Takes place after season six, in England where Giles tries to help and angry Willow, and a newly souled vampire whose mood veers between Italian widow and Mickey Mouse on crack. Throw in WWP escaping from stalker Lilah and you have a recipe for disaster. Funny but deeper and more layered than it sounds - warning Death of a major character. Gen fic

Siren Song  - Morgana - Picks up after Twihard, but there’s a reason Dean was throwing up after he took the cure - it didn’t take. He’s left a vampire, and while he tries to ignore it, that turns out to be a very bad idea. At the end of his rope, Sam calls on an old contact of their father’s, who promises to send them help in the form of a vampire expert. Problem is, they didn’t expect the vampire expert to be a vampire himself! Dean is forced to spend some time with his new mentor, learning about what it means to be a vampire, from blood (which he doesn’t want to drink) to sires (which he doesn’t have) and more.  Spike/Dean, Xander/Sam when did you start watching? About 8 years ago - when I became disabled my younger daughter made me watch Buffy, and I was hooked. The show and fandom gave me someting to put my energy into as I went through the healing process. I watched “Angel” afterwards - also under protest. That’s where my main ships set sail - Spangel, and Weslah.

show recommendations for Buffyverse fans? I have odd taste in shows so not sure if they will appeal

Vikings - history channel - interesting characters and kick-ass women (Lagertha in particular)

Shameless (on Netflix) - that same sense of community as a family of poor kids struggle to survive without parents - filled with humor, and snark. If you have ever been a poor urban kid, you will find yourself here.

Goblin: The Lonely and Great God - Kdrama - another one of my daughters but a Korean Goblin and a Reaper are so shippable! (same daughter XD)

1. When something is wrong with the show, Spike is not always to blame - if Spike is your all purpose scapegoat then go away.

2. Bangel and Spuffy were both extremely dysfunctional relationships by any normal standard. What Angel did to Buffy was just as bad as the ar

3. Characters are more interesting when they screw up - and it’s still okay to be upset by choices they make.

4. Fred/Gunn slowly drains the life out of Fred, and she never quite makes it back. Fred/Wesley is not about love, it’s about adoration and worship

5. Wesely/Lilah is the hottest relationship in the B-verse.

least favorite thing about the fandom?

The whole beware Spike fans - Spike fans are waiting to kick your puppy, spoil your milk, and burn your house to the ground with your whole family inside. They are a single organism with one opinion and in control of fandom. We are all being victimized by Spike fans, and their foul, evil ways. We hates em - we hates em all...I mean, dislike the character and I can understand if not agree, but lately i am running into stuff about Spike fans. Disliking real people on the basis of a who just seems weird, and sad.

Week 2 - Keeping It Up

Week 2, let’s go! 

Has been an odd week. Have been feeling extremely lethargic workwise. Can’t seem to concentrate and I keep procrastinating things. Only small bits of work give me inspiration and sparks joy and I’ll ride on the energy wave for a bit and it just flickers out. 

That said, on the personal front, things have been not bad. Sticking to my goals, feeding my soul. Issagoooood. 

Reads This Week

If I Had Your Face by Frances Cha (3/2021) When I finished If I Had Your Face by Frances Cha, I felt such a sense of grief. That it had to end, that I could no longer be part of the tight quartet in the book, at the sorrows of each character. Ah, the deep, unsettling sense of despair this book left me. I was scrolling through Instagram and was mentally yelling at every Instastory “HOW CAN YOU GO ABOUT YOUR LIVES SO APATHETICALLY WHEN I’M COMPLETELY DEVASTED BY THIS ONE WOMAN’S WORDS?!

This is how I want a read to leave me, despairing and desperate for more. Though I have to say it doesn’t really have a plot, no major plot development, no typical “cleverness” in storytelling. And you have to accept that the 4+1 girls you’re introduced to in the book will remain vague and blurry, like silhouettes in the rain. There is no resolution, though there is hope. (And dread actually, now that I think about it, funny how those two come together so often, Hope and Dread.) 

But the language, it was so well written! Cha is wonderful at conveying sentiments of female friendship and made me ache for my girlfriends. I could relate so intensely to the frustrations of her characters, seemingly frivolous issues about ridiculous intense admiration (obsession?) for Korean idols, other girls who look better than you, but also deep-seated scars, embarrassment at one’s childhood, monstrous guardians and care givers, a desire to be more. I could not recommend this more. I’m glad I picked it up. I will re-read this again.

The Midnight Library by Matt Haig (4/2021)

“Between life and death there is a library. And within that library, the shelves go on for ever. Every book provides a chance to try another life you could have lived. To see how things would be different if you have made other choices”

This was a strange book for me. I thought I liked it. And I think I do, just not as much as I thought I would have. It’s really strange for me to say this because this is literally a book about possibilities. About choices you make that lead you to completely different lives. And I’m ALL about possibilities. This book was dripping with potential and I feel the disappointment of unrealised potential so very acutely. 

I liked the first half more than the second half. Haig spends a good amount of time world building in the first half, talking about loss, about disappointment, about consequence of action and outcomes that don’t always meet our expectations. The premise is MAGICAL, so beautifully clever. A Library of possible lives, my heart aches at how poetic that is.

The second half just went into weird philosophical town. “The only way to learn is to live.”, “But now you’re lost within your lostness.” It got a bit… The 5 People You Meet In Heaven-ish. Which for some people is probably great, for me… it felt a bit preachy. Perhaps if you share similar regrets as the protagonist, Nora, you might like this book a lot than me.

Still enjoyed it though. For the love of the language. Haig is quite a virtuoso at wielding language to break your heart. Maybe it’s just personal preference, but I wish Haig took a more fantasy route, instead of a philosophical, Life Is About Living, approach. 

Kim Ji-young, Born 1982 by Cho Nam-ju (5/2021) I first heard of this book some time in 2019 I think, reading a SCMP article about how there were Korean couples breaking up because they could not agree on their feelings towards the movie adaptation. (Seriously, fucking Koreans wtf?!) Apparently there was great division on how women are treated in Korea, tensions on gender discrimination and The Patriarchy was rearing its ugly head, calling foul on attempts of the feminist movement in Korea.  

At that time, I was more intrigued by how ridiculous Korea can be (seriously, there were people sending death threats to female celebrities who even mentioned they read the book, what in the world?!) so I got a little swept away reading about how intensely chauvinistic Korea is. For all the shine and beauty of Kpop, Korea is really quite fucked up. 

I’m about 20% in and I quite like it so far! It’s translated so there are some awkward moments but overall, the language is easy and regular, highlighting how normal the discrimination and injustice Kim Ji-young faces is. 

Writes This Week

I.. haven’t finished my Kang Trilogy. Heh. I think I need some time away from it and will come back to it soon. I’m noticing that the Kang in my writing and the actor that kind of inspired him are becoming increasingly different. I think the Kang in my writing is becoming more like... me. I hope that one day, I’ll be able to write about things that I’m not familiar with, experiences that I’ve never had before. Practice, I’ll practise till I get there. 

I did finish a piece on Instagram woes, one that I started some time back but came back and finished in like... 10 mins. (Time away really does help.) It’s the first piece I’ve ever sent to a friend for critique and I’m so so so glad I did! I hope this is the start of something between AG and me, writing, reading and critiquing each others’ pieces. :) 

Reading more really does help with writing better! 

Watches This Week

MiChuRi  미추리 Season 1 & 2 on random website I googled out A Korean variety show I started on because Song Kang was in it. Premise is that the participants of the show have to solve clues to find a sum of money hidden somewhere in this “village”. It has elements of 2 Days 1 Night and Running Man. Yoo Jae Suk hosts so you already know it’s gonna be good! 

IT IS SO FUNNY HOMG WHAT. 10/10 will recommend for crack lols. I actually found myself learning quite a bit about the Korean language through this show. Also conclude that Song Kang looks great but he is severely lacking in the reasoning department. Boy is not what we would typically deem “intelligent”. But God Damn his beautiful face! God is fair, God is always fair. 

Extracurricular on Netflix About half way through it. It is really very good but in small doses please. Sometimes I forget that our main characters are just high school students but when I do, I feel almost physically sick watching what they have to do to survive. 

Kim Dong Hee is perfect as the incredibly introverted and troubled Oh Ji Soo. I think he carries the show. Some actors act with their eyes, Kim Dong Hee acts with his whole body. You can feel the desperation rushing out in waves from him, from his eyes to his shoulders to his frickin hair. I feel so much for him even though he essentially is pimping out underage escorts. Ah, CHEF’S KISS! 

The Uncanny Counter on Netflix 3 episodes in and it’s not bad! Though the amount of bullying that happens in Korean schools... is it normal?! I hope it’s just dramatised for shows... Now that I think about it, Extracurricular had lots of school bullying.  Ya... Korea, what the hell is up man?!

Also, none of the actors playing high school students look like high school students. Seriously, some of them could pass off as 40 year old uncles. Especially the bullies. Maybe they retain every year for the past 10 years? Is that why? 

Okay, don’t let me put you off The Uncanny Counter. It’s really quite good. So far at least. Excellent storytelling, great world building, above average cast. A solid 7.5/10 in my books. 

My main problem with it is that the characters are very one dimensional. I wish there was more nuance? Like you can fit every character in typical Kdrama tropes almost immediately and it makes the show very predictable. I LOVE the little friendship trio that our protagonist is in though. Is a rare thing, to find such precious friendships in Kdramas built on just pure friendship with no weird love triangle thrown in to complicate things. 

Listens This Week

Rediscovered some of IU’s old stuff. Like really old, like 2008, 2010 old. I really like her duet with Na Yoon Kown called First Love, and of course, Good Day is great. 

Been listening to quite a bit of Twice this week too. Well, just 2 of their latest singles. I really like I Can’t Stop Me and More and More. 

Kpop still dominates my listening charts this week. Heh. :) 

This week was not bad to me but I think I really need to pull my weight a bit more. May week 3 continue to be kind to us all! :)
