Hello....Do you mind if I ask, cause you also love HxH. Your top 5 (or top 3) fav JJK characters will be besties with who (in your opinions) if they were in other universe, with your top fav characters from HxH? Hope my questions are not confusing. Thanks if you want to answer....

When I started to think about this, my brain went places. Not all of these are my favs, some of these characters I dislike but the headcanons kept coming.

Yuuji would befriend 3 out of the main 4 of HxH easily. He’d be into Gon’s Jajanken, Gon’d love to know about the Black Flash. Gon’d drag Yuuji on adventures, because Yuuji needs someone else to set the course and Gon’s great at that. Yuuji would geek out with Killua about pop culture. He’d feel great compassion for Kurapika but Kurapika doesn’t do friends so it’d be just that. Leorio would love Yuuji because he’s overpowered but very kind and less intense than Gon. I’m sure Leorio would go do karaoke with Yuuji. 

Alluka and Nanika would instantly love Yuuji. They would also try to befriend and fix Sukuna. They’d think that surely he has good in him, like Nanika, and if only they manage to reach him, he can form a loving bond with Yuuji and others too. It was likely them who introduced him to Hello Kitty, he was never the same after that. Alluka would also love Kirara, see her as a mentor and I think Kirara would love her back.

Apart from Yuuji, Leorio would also like Nanami and Higuruma. He’d respect Nanami for choosing to help people and be happy that Nanami could choose a life not ruled by money. And Higuruma wanted to work the system from the inside and Leorio wants to do that too, maybe he could reignite the hope in Higuruma. He wouldn't be sure about Toudou but then again Toudou wouldn't mind his masturbation references XD.

Canary is very clever and can manipulate others so she’d respect Kenjaku’s plots and enjoy their personality. She would also like Maki, they’d train together with various weapons. 

Nobara would judge Kurapika on their stuck up personality and lack of concern for others. She’d find Leorio cringe. But she’d be friends with Canary, because quick lesbian friends. With Gon, Killua and Alluka she’d initially be like meh, brats. But she’d warm up to them. Gon’s as driven and independent as she is, and she already has a sweet bff in Yuuji, so she likes that type. And Killua and Alluka she’d adopt as younger siblings. They want to escape the oppressive confines of a closed community and creepy traditions, she’d sympathise with that. Plus she’d bond with Killua about clothes. It’d take time with him, because they are both so petty but as soon as they’d bond on being petty about something together, they’d be inseparable to the despair of everyone around them.

Megumi would become distinguished rivals with Kurapika. They both know that the group can’t fit more than one pretentious over intellectualised teenager with a lot of trauma. But Kurapika doesn’t really want to hang around so Megumi would win that spot by default of not having a doomed revenge to drive him. He’d likely warm up to Gon and later to Leorio. He’d initially think Leorio is a bit like Gojou but then he’d learn that Leorio is a far better, actually reliable person and he’d grow to respect him. Killua would grate him because Killua is as knowledgeable as Megumi but far more talented and his relationship with Alluka and Nanika would always remind Megumi of how he fucked up his own relationship with his sister. He would try to play cool but envy’d be eating him inside.

Initially I thought Hisoka would like Mei Mei. But tbh I think that their creepy shared interest wouldn’t bring them together, more like they’d be territorial about their “toys”. He’d likely vibe with Mahito, they both love to mess with people and murder them for fun, and Kashimo who’d be Hisoka’s buddy and rival, I think they’d keep a tally of who won with a larger number of strong opponents. 

I think if Bisky was transported into the JJK world, she’d think she ended up in heaven. So many hot men, like from her magazines. She’d try to score with as many as she could. And so many poorly trained but amazingly talented kids, so many gems she could polish to shine brightly. She could maybe even reform Sukuna, show him what true mentoring is about. He really wants to teach others but kills them in the process, that’s not very efficient. Kinda sub par mentoring. And she'd likely become besties with Yuki.

Uraume would bond with Pitou, they both are non binary, both have a sense of humour and they both loyally serve overpowered men who think they are very smart and who eat people. 

Illumi would study the 3 clans, he doesn’t do friends, but he might find new inspiring methods to apply to his own family. He'd be also weirdly drawn to Chousou though he wouldn't approve of how Chousou enacts his brotherly obsession, he doesn't try to control his brothers enough. Chousou would obviously despise him.

Now Ging and Kenjaku would have a similar and dissimilar relationship Ging and Pariston have. Similar because Ging would want to study Kenjaku under a microscope, like he wants to do with Pariston. And I suspect they’d both respect each other’s curiosity. Though Ging has some semblance of morality so Kenjaku’s methods and possibly world ending goals wouldn’t fully vibe with him. But they’d be sharing parenting tips and successes. Like look at my overpowered kid I made as an experiment and then abandoned to just gently nudge his life this way or that way so he’d excel. Ging would be fascinated with Kenjaku’s baby making methodology and Kenjaku would go to Greed Island with the sole purpose of getting the pregnancy stone card. 

Gojou would follow Pariston around begging him to reveal his secrets, how did Pariston manage to have the whole Hunters Association dance to his tune. How did he learn to play these political games and win? Gojou sucks at that so much. How is Pariston so effortlessly glamorous on a level Gojou could only dream of? 

Ijichi and Beans would form a support group. 

So would Palm and Yorozu.

Analyzing Killua Zoldyck's Character

What’s up y’all?! I’ve had at least 2 cups of coffee this morning and I am ready to write my butt off! This post will be about Killua Zoldyck, my second favorite character and you will know why by the end. If you’d like me to write about your favorite character, Be sure to send me a message and I will get on it ASAP.

Here we go!

I saw Killua for the first time on Tumblr. Someone created various icons for several anime characters and edited them. They were all aesthetically pleasing but for some reason, his picture stood out. Now that I look harder, it is because he was holding a Pepsi can instead of the off-brand one they drew for him in the cartoon. I noticed everyone on TikTok and Twitter had the very same icon as their profile picture (usually those that like to troll and say racist things to others). Once I started watching Hunter x Hunter, I realized the character immediately. Thank you for your edits!

Killua Zoldyck is the youngest child in the family and is the only child that developed a mind for his own.

Instead of taking the pleasure of killing, he runs/avoids and achieves this by becoming friends with Gon. It’s interesting to think that no one in the Zoldyck family wants to kill for fun except for Illumi.

I remember Zeno telling Chrollo: “Do you think I enjoy killing?”.

This makes me think that the family’s job is to destroy enemies that are a threat to society. Are the Zoldyck’s taking on the role of cops or an extension of such? If that statement is true why does Illumi take pleasure in abusing his power when his own grandfather only does it when criminals are involved? Granted, Silva and Zeno’s reasoning for brutally fighting criminals isn’t legal, and (to me) are considered to be vigilantes, at least they don’t go around doing the horrible things like how Illumi and Hisoka do.

This very reason why Killua ran away from home. He decided to rebel against his mother and implied: “Fuck you. I’m going to do what I want.” Killua and his siblings are victims of child abuse and show that they deal with that abuse in different ways. Killua masks his abilities in public and tries to keep them under control, Kalluto seems to be very quiet and obedient, Milluki is just as abusive as Illumi, and we already know about Illumi. Milluki is physically abusive; this can be seen when he is whipping Killua for running away and threatens to destroy Gon, Kurapika, and Leorio while Illumi plays mind games on Killua and uses his Nen to do the trick.

Killua’s character is very special and in a way takes the lead as the main character instead of Gon. I don’t know if that was intentional or not. Killua is a 12-year-old boy who leaves home to escape his abusive home and see the world for his own. During phase 1 of Hunter’s Exam, he instantly clicks with Gon; probably because he’s the only 12-year-old there. They constantly challenge each other to see who will win and who will buy dinner or some other reward. Because of his abusive home, Killua often masks his feelings. This is noticeable every time Gon talks about him being his best friend and he always reacts as if he’s embarrassed by it.

Gon is his shield from going bat-shit crazy like his family. They both have faced opponents (like Hisoka and others) where Killua could have unleashed his assassin abilities but didn’t. Yes, some of the opponents are stronger than him, but it wouldn’t hurt to try.

Killua is the best friend Gon could ever have. Since he knows about aura and any supernatural abilities, this is why he stops Gon and even insults him for pushing himself too far. Killua stopped Gon from using too much aura in the past especially once Kite’s arm was cut off by Pitou. Because Killua wasn’t there to stop him when fighting Pitou, this resulted in Gon’s downfall. Did Killua believe it was his fault that Gon almost died? He isn’t responsible for Gon’s actions but he focused so much on running away from his “demons” and masking his temper by maintaining his friendship that he wasn’t paying attention to Gon’s noticeable and developing temper.

Killua Zoldyck is a child that suffered from abuse and to escape that reality, he runs away, takes Hunter’s Exam only to match with his brother, chooses defeat, and then kills an opponent, not of his own free will.

But wait, there’s more.

After being rescued from his prison of a home, he goes to Heaven’s Arena, met Zushi and his teacher, develop Nen, follows the Phantom Troupe around and somehow managed to survive that, meet Bisky, join a game to get closer to Ging, witnesses Gon disappearing, trying to form a relationship with Alluka, and then tries to heal Gon with a quickness.

Whew, chile!

At the beginning of the show, it appeared as if Killua was taking on too much and only did so to keep his mind off what he escaped from.

One thing to point out is Killua’s motivation to heal Gon no matter what. It is implied that he doesn’t care what will happen to him or anyone else as long as Gon can live again.

Wait.

Isn’t that along the lines of what Gon said about getting revenge for Kite? He didn’t care about what happened to him? Hmmmm. I guess they’re very similar after all!

Killua and Gon are BFFs and will do anything for each other. Friendships in real life should be this way; let’s follow his fictional example.

Face

Killua’s face is the typical shape for someone his age. His eyes are wide, as blue as the morning sky, and honestly, I wish he’d smile more. Even though he is 12 years old, he still has a babyface.

Hair

Killua’s hair color is very similar to Princess Allura’s and Lotor’s. According to verywellmind.com, the color white represents innocence and purity. Ironically, Lotor and Killua are the opposite of that while Allura has maintained her innocence. Killua’s unique hair color and hairstyle are amazing! I love how it stays in shape while he is fighting or running.

Clothes

Regarding clothes, he is JUST like his brother. Again, Illumi irks me, but they both have a great taste in fashion. Through the show, Killua changes his clothes more than Gon, which is funny. I guess if Gon changed his clothes too much it would take away from his character. Killua’s default style contains a sleeveless white shirt with a purple one underneath, basketball shorts, and gym shoes. Just look at these outfit changes! This is why Killua is my 2nd favorite character in this show.

Behavior

As stated before, Killua cares more about others. This is ironic because the Zoldyck family only cares about themselves or their family while Killua feels the complete opposite. It’s almost as if he trusts strangers more than his own family. A common phrase: “She/He turned to the streets” that I’ve heard in my hometown can be applied here. Killua probably hates his family and turned to strangers to find love and comfort since they neglected that. He is also the only one that tries to develop a relationship with Alluka. At first, I thought “Wow he’s only developing a relationship with her to heal Gon” but then I realized it was bigger than that. Alluka has been separated from her family because of her dangerous abilities. She will demand something and if that person doesn’t fulfill her demands, they will suffer horribly. Killua learns that Alluka has a healing ability and while Illumi complains that Killua was hiding rules from him, he never took the chance to talk to him about it and continued to threaten Alluka. The family “banished” her to a confined room for who knows how long because, apparently, she had been possessed by a demon from the Dark Continent and they do not know when it happened. Despite knowing that Killua could parish with the rest, he still develops a relationship with her. He is the true example of excepting someone for who they are. As far as I’m concerned, running away was the best decision he made. It saved his life and in return, he’s going to save another. I do find it ironic that something considered to be so dark has the power to bring something back to life when usually it’s something bright like a light...interesting. You all know what I’m saying. Most television shows only portray angles to heal others while demons only seek to destroy. The Zoldyck family is wrong for pushing Alluka away. How could you do that to your own kid? Shit, you should be blaming yourself for not watching her and allowing the demon to posses her.

In conclusion, Killua is my second favorite character. He is bold, loves his friends, and isn’t afraid (anymore) to step up to people he may not win against. His character has blossomed from a young boy afraid to step up to his brother to a boy who isn’t afraid to do so. He has learned about Nen and has gone through many trials and tribulations just to say he is much stronger than before. What characters would you like to hear about next? Send me a DM!

Like I mentioned, this AU started because I was coming off my YouTube let’s play phase right when I first watched HxH a few years ago. But since that phase is behind me now, most of what I focus on is this AU is everything except video games lol (fwiw, I believe it was born out of a conversation about what kind of chaos would ensue if Gon and Killua ever played Goat Simulator, and my brain latched onto that concept and went YEET)

Anyways buckle up it’s General Sweeping Overview Time:

Okay so some background: Gon lives on Whale Island with Mito and goes to a high school on the mainland but isn’t exactly close to anyone – he gets along really well with everybody, and he has friends of a kind, but even then it feels kinda temporary. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Leorio and Gon have something like a sibling relationship! They met when Leorio was 16 and Gon was 10, Leorio was working a summer job and Gon was running away to have an adventure and look for Ging and he tried to buy a bus ticket, but Leorio made him call Mito instead and ultimately brought him back to the island himself, which got him instantly adopted into the family. Now he’s finishing up college and getting ready for med school, and he and Gon are both busy enough that they don’t actually see each other as much as they used to, but they do their best to stay in touch.

Kurapika lurks around the edges for now, they’re a really good cosplayer in their free time but I never worked out what their day job is. ouo; They meet Gon and Killua down the road through game stuff (also obviously from the they/thems Kurapika’s super not cis)

The Zoldycks aren’t assassins but they are still the Zoldycks, and they suck. Killua also isn’t particularly close to anyone outside of the family, mainly because tbh he straight up doesn’t like most of the people he goes to school with, but also because his family is too invested in his social life. >_>

Alluka and Nanika are twins and are both the least favorites of the family, the ones the Zoldycks are largely embarrassed by and try not to acknowledge. They hate Alluka because she’s trans (as per usual :\ ) and they hate Nanika because she’s neurodivergent (namely she had a speech delay as a kid, and it pisses Killua and Alluka off that the rest of the family can’t see past that to who she is now)

Anyways on to the real stuff, the meat in the sandwich if you will:

Gon and Killua become BFFs through the online multiplayer game Greed Island. Greed Island is very convoluted and has lots of layers, but it ends up with a diehard following of weirdos who like a challenge.

Nen types are the character classes.

There’s 5 discrete leaderboards for no actual reason.

The cards??? Are still a thing???? No one knows if collecting all of them actually goes anywhere????

Heavens Arena is a particular PvP zone that’s added to the game later and Zushi shows up and gradually takes it over, and naturally Gon and Killua befriend him too because WOW this guy’s determined!! He doesn’t join the team though because literally all he wants to do is be the best at the Arena, he barely even plays Greed Island outside of that one zone.

Gon’s playing GI because Ging had a hand in developing it (that’s never relevant again I stopped caring about that as a thread before I could take it anywhere or research game development, which Ging would disregard anyways, also Gon already managed to corner Ging somewhere a year or two before this) and his username is RockPaperSkissors bc RockPaperScissors was taken and it was literally the only thing he could think of on the fly. Killua is playing GI because he’s heard about how convoluted it is and went “challenge accepted ( ✧ ω✧)”; he’s been using electri-K as his username for everything since 6th grade.

At first they were sniping each other’s leaderboard rankings back and forth for weeks, and just when a nice friendly rivalry was going Gon messaged Killua like “Wow you’re really good!!!!” Of course, Killua had the self-preservation to ask himself “...who’s this rando.” But:

So since they figure they’re clearly on their way to being the strongest players on the site, they team up!

After a while they end up making a series of tutorial videos (Gon’s idea) to help newer players because Greed Island is such a nightmare to get into, and at this point they know just about everything. Gon teaches himself to put videos together just to do this because he’s really into the idea. They make a YouTube channel to host the videos and name it after their GI team, which is their usernames mushed together to make Team RockPaperZAP (or Team RPZ). They’re dumb it’s great

They get to be fairly well known around Greed Island, not famous or anything but active players typically know who they are from either their videos or the fact that their team is in the #1 leaderboard slot for a few years straight

Killua starts college (because family), Gon starts basically doing whatever he wants because fuck school (this is the first time in his life he can actually do whatever or go wherever he wants and he’s leaning into it for a while), they’re finally able to meet in person once or twice!

Oh No There’s Feelings

Basically:

Killua is a gay disaster who realizes he's developed a huge embarrassing crush on his best friend oops

Gon is ace/demi, and also realizes he’s developed a huge embarrassing crush on his best friend whoopsie

They don’t really talk about the Feelings because holy shit that’s terrifying, but over the years they’ve talked about lots of other stuff. Gon’s heard more about Killua’s family than Killua ever thought he’d share with someone. Killua was the first person Gon told when he started to think he might be demi and not just ace. They’ve even talked a little about relationships and stuff – for example, Gon’s one of the only people who knows that Killua had a secret bf in 12th grade but it only lasted about 2 weeks bc the guy got paranoid about people finding out – but not,, yknow, a relationship with, EACH OTHER,,,, or,, anything,,,

They get together at a convention. Because they’re dweebs. And they’re sharing a room. And tropes are fun. :>

Now that he’s paying attention to the ~feelings~, Gon’s pretty sure that Killua has reciprocal feelings for him and the crushes are mutual, but he knows Killua and he knows this kind of thing is A Lot for him, so he just drops hints and gives Killua the space to decide he’s ready.

Killua does finally make a move because he ends up internally screaming at himself that if he doesn’t take the opportunity Gon’s clearly giving him he’s going to regret it for the rest of his life, so he takes a deep breath and steels himself and asks Gon if he can kiss him. Gon is like “!!! :O”

Then they make out a bunch and everything is awesome

Killua visits Gon on Whale Island not long after this, which was actually planned before they started dating but now that they’re boyfriends it’s EVEN BETTER. Mito fully takes advantage of this opportunity to embarrass Gon.

They date long distance for a little while but finally one of them points out that they may as well live together and Gon moves into Killua’s apartment (this actually makes them more bearable to be around, according to Zushi, who’s ended up at the same school as Killua and got roped into off-campus roommatehood (where Killua literally went “hey Zushi help me spend my asshole parents’ money by paying practically no rent, it’s cheaper than room & board” and Zushi went “i feel like i shouldn’t but can’t argue with that logic”))

While killugon are long-distance though, they happen to record something more like a Greed Island Let’s Play for a new game event, and less like a tutorial. And then they make a video of them playing a game that’s not Greed Island at all – it’s a horror game that Gon’s never heard of and Killua dared him to get through, so they’re recording and uploading these videos as a public record of whether he makes it to the end (he does).

Their small audience of Greed Island users loves this, so they make more. And then those gradually start to catch on, so they just… keep on making LPs in their free time.

(it was really important to me that they already be dating before they become known as LPers because I can’t stand real-life shipping of real-life people such as internet personalities ha h a)

Fast forward a bit and there’s a bunch of people following their YouTube channel just for LPs and they’re like “okay I guess we also do this now!”

Alluka and Nanika eventually have to emergency bail out of the Zoldyck house and end up living with them for a short time, which is chaotic as hell because they have 5 people in an apartment that’s really meant for 2ish people until they’re all able to find a bigger place

BUT Alluka and Nanika start their own crafts/fabrication/props business! They have an online store for various things but they also take props and costume piece commissions. They both contribute to making and both have skills (chainmail! beading!! Worbla sculpting!! Nanika becomes a silversmith!!!) but Nanika does the majority of the fabrication/construction and loves learning new techniques, while Alluka handles most of the business side like keeping track of orders. They actually laid the groundwork for this while still living with the Zoldycks (small jewelry and trinket orders, stuff like that) but couldn’t really get it off the ground and start making big things until they left.

Zushi has appeared in a couple of Gon and Killua’s videos, and once she’s around Alluka makes appearances too. They’re both popular! Nanika’s in the background now and again and one time Killua asks her to help him and Gon solve a really complicated puzzle in something, but in general she doesn’t like being on camera (and she’s got a business to run! She’s not even home most of the time once she and Alluka find a workspace to use).

Leorio and Kurapika have also shown up in videos before!

Somehow Killua talked Leorio into playing Surgeon Simulator. Leorio nearly loses his goddamn mind. It’s spectacular.

Annnnnnd that’s basically it i guess? That’s the overview at least. Some fun facts:

Gon loves Star Trek because it’s my AU and i can do whatever i want. He grew up watching reruns on TV with Mito and it’s very nostalgic for him. Also he famously went on a 21-minute rant in a livestream about everything J.J. Abrams did wrong.

Killua grew up playing Milluki’s classic Japanese horror games behind his back and is still really into horror stuff. Gon will play anything but tends towards open world games. They both grew up with Pokémon and have a big soft spot for that.

I was reading a lot of agender!Killua headcanon posts when this AU first developed so Killua does eventually realize “oh…. Gender….. I don’t actually know her?? None for me thanks”. He continues to loosely use he/him but also starts using they/them, depending on context and the mood that day.

This is the AU where I project a bunch of things onto Gon I’m not sure how it happened but it can’t be helped apparently bc it... keeps... happening…...

Mainly this is attention issues bc this AU began when i was fresh out of college and the misery was still recent :^)

Canary and Amane are in this AU too, i don’t remember how they first meet anybody – maybe Killua and Canary were acquaintances from something before? Or she was still connected to the Zoldycks somehow?? Idk – but they’re girlfriends and they run a podcast called That Gay Shit and it’s some sort of super fun mix of queer history, culture, guest appearances, and memes. Because tbh why not. They drag Killua onto the show whenever an intended guest can’t make it because listeners like him and new listeners from his YouTube audience always follow.

I’ve come back to this AU after a long break from it and I’m finally reworking a bunch of stuff, including some of the character dynamics and traits. I still need to reassess how Kurapika fits into everything, for starters, and also where?? Is Kalluto???? My child????? I know once upon a time just about every character was tucked in here somewhere but I definitely need to reassess their roles now that time has passed, and how they connect. A lot of my own thoughts about HxH have changed since 2015-16 so it’s fun to look at this with fresh eyes. ^u^

Hell yeah! Gon is my favorite boy, and his bff Killua. Really I love all the main four guys. You'll have to tell us how far you've watched. There are several main story arcs, each one rather interesting. The final one out so far is ... emotional.

“Killua! Killua, wait up!”

“Son of a…” Killua cursed under his breath, slamming his locker door shut. He didn’t miss the snickers coming from the other students lingering in the hall. He turned on his heel, walking in the opposite direction of the teen calling out to him.

“Hold on a sec! Killua!” Gon frowned, running faster as he adjusted the bag on his shoulder. Why does he always avoid me?

Killua growled heading towards the locker room, closing the door before Gon could get to it. He sank onto one of the benches, pulling his jersey out of his locker. 

“You know, you should be a little easier on him.” Kurapika said, pulling on his jersey beside him. “He really looks up to you.” 

“He’s the mascot. And he’s such a- such a dork.” Killua rolled his eyes, pulling off his tee and replacing it with the jersey. “Did you see him completely trip and fall on his face earlier? He makes an idiot of himself on a daily basis.” 

“Right, and a legendary Zoldyck can’t afford to be seen with someone like him, right?”Kurapika said sarcastically, giving him a knowing look. “He’s not that bad. He’s a nice kid.” 

“Last week he literally proclaimed that I was his best friend.” Killua said, clearly irked.

“So? I mean it’s a little embarrassing but-”

“In the middle of our class assembly!” Killua threw up his hands. “We were friends when we were twelve! Then he moved away and came back and now he thinks we’re BFF’s for life or something!”

“That’s a little redundant.” Kurapika laughed, “Best friends forever for life?”

“Oh, shut up!” Killua groaned as Kurapika laughed harder, clutching his sides. “Look, the point is that the kid is a klutzy idiot that has no filter. I work hard to live up to the family legacy and-”

“Family legacy? You’re joking, right?” Kurapika said incredulously, still laughing.

“I’m serious!” Killua glared at him, “My grandpa was a star player, so was my dad, so was Illumi. The only one who hasn’t done anything is Milluki and at least he got into an IVY League.”

“And saying ‘hi’ to the school mascot is going to ruin your whole reputation? Besides, I seem to recall you signing up for improv club freshman year.” Kurapika said before Killua covered his mouth abruptly.

“Don’t talk about that! I was lame, okay? But I’m a junior now. I can’t afford to not be cool now.” Killua said, uncovering Kurapika’s mouth and sitting back on the bench.

“If you ask me, avoiding an old friend isn’t cool.” Kurapika muttered, closing his locker.

“Good thing I didn’t ask you.”

“Hunters are down by two points with 42 seconds left in the game. Ants call a time out!”

Kurapika passed the ball to the ref before jogging over to his teammates to the side of the court. The coach’s assistant handed him a cup of water which he took gratefully.

“Thanks, Leorio.” Kurapika said with a smile, downing the cup.

“No problem. Great game out there.” Leorio replied, passing a cup to another player.

“It’s not over yet.” Kurapika paused hearing a series of “boo”s from the crowd. He looked just in time to see Gon, in costume, tripping and falling on the court. The crowd erupts in laughter and jeering. Kurapika’s eyes find Killua who’s watching with a frown on his face, his cup crushed in his hand.

“Hey,” Kurapika walks over, putting a hand on the Zoldyck’s shoulder. “If you want to care about your reputation, that’s fine. But if you don’t go over there, I will.” 

Killua stayed silent, his jaw clenched. He wanted to punch out every single person laughing at Gon. He really, really did. A large part of him missed being Gon’s friend, but so much had changed in the time Gon was away. So much had changed in Killua’s life that he wasn’t sure he was even worthy of being Gon’s friend- too wrapped up in doing what his family wanted him to do. 

“I’m disappointed in you, Killua.” Kurapika sighed, walking towards Gon scrambling to get up again, “ I’m a senior and I’m the top scorer this year. I’m captain. I’d rather taint my reputation in order to help him and I’m not even his friend. So what exactly does that make you?”

Killua’s eyes widened, clenching his fists. Gon was always the one most excited to see him in school. He was the one yelling his name in the halls, waving enthusiastically, smiling at him. He was the one who saw through his mask when he was having a bad day. He was the brightest part of his days. He may be an idiot, but he was one of the only people who actually gave a damn about him. And what was Killua doing to thank him? Letting him get humiliated. Killua cursed under his breath and jogged past Kurapka toward the fallen mascot. 

“You really are an idiot, you know that?” Killua said with a smile, holding his hand out to Gon. Inside the costume, Gon beamed reaching a hand up as Killua helped him up.

“Thanks, Killua! I guess you’re right. But you still helped me!” Gon laughed. Killua shook his head and faintly noticed that the commotion in the crowd had died down. 

“Couldn’t let you embarrass yourself, could I?” Killua smirked, turning when he heard a whistle from the ref. He turned back to Gon, a slight blush on his face, “I gotta get back. But do you wanna hang out later? Like old times?” 

“Sure!” Gon jumped in excitement and tried to hug him, “That sounds amazing!” 

“C-Calm down, idiot. It’s embarrassing! People are watching!” Killua dodged the hug, jogging back to the court, his face a deep shade of red.

001 | send me a ship and i will tell you:

1. when i started shipping it: oh boy... it started somewhere last year, sprouted from a silly "look at this pair" post i made. then i began writing a big fic that takes place post-dark continent where cheadle is helping leorio through some heavy stuff, and their relationship in the writing process had shifted, to my fucking bemusement, from "student teacher with baggage" to "holy shit they’re in love"; i can say i started shipping them when i wrote them together, basically (can you believe that fic was originally going to be leopika? *laughs for a thousand years*).

2. my thoughts: i have so much and it's impossible to write them all in one go, but here's some: it's easy to see them and think they're opposites, but there's a lot they have in common: they're both loyal, dutiful, and care maybe a little too much for their own good, grounded and stubborn, opinionated and easily offended; both feel like they're not good enough (leorio for his friends, cheadle for her position), both put what's important to them before themselves. and ugh, this is pure speculation on my part, but i believe they share a common conception of self, this desire to be somebody of worth and significance, to prove themselves to others, and well, i just think they can influence each other in really positive ways.

3. what makes me happy about them: this serene, gentle quality to their love (or the way i imagine it, at least). there's a lot of mutual respect and admiration, and a lot of self-doubt that's compensated for with excessive tenderness and consideration. also the thought of them cuddling for an entire day every time leorio comes back from months-long work makes me very, very happy.

4. what makes me sad about them: the nature of their respective jobs would make it very difficult for them to spend long periods of time together. what they have in common is also what separates them (in terms of actual physical distance, at least); both consider their jobs more important than themselves, so i can't see either leaving what they do to be with the other permanently. there would be a lot of heartache and chronic longing, but they'd go through it for this short amount of time every couple of months where they get to spend entire days with each other, so, this makes me sad but in a really bittersweet way.      

5. things done in fanfic that annoys me: *sobs*

7. who i'd be comfortable for them to end up with, if not each other: no character in canon, that's for sure. i'd love for cheadle to have a girlfriend nobody knows about, and leorio would continue his life a wandering doctor by day a whore by night.

7. my happily ever after for them: an open relationship. or, alternatively, cheadle resigning after two decades of dutiful service to her fellow hunters, finally taking off her costume,and just travel with leorio, and maybe they go vacationing in some farm or something where there are cows and shit, and perhaps a lake where they could swim naked.

8. who is the big spoon/little spoon: depends on weather and season! cheadle isn't affected much by different temperatures, and will never, ever sleep without a blanket, and leorio can't fall asleep without a fan blowing in his direction, so when it's hot he's the big spoon, partly because he wants to block the cold air from reaching her, partly because cheadle cocoons herself in a blanket and refuses to move her arms in any direction. in winter leorio just wants to be hugged and coddled, so she wraps him in two blankets then wraps herself around him.

9. what is their favorite non-sexual activity: long car rides and eating food together. those have been their go-to activitieseven before they fell in love; when things are too stressful they just leave hq and drive aimlessly about the city, talking and listening to music and eating junk food.

1. how i feel about them:HAH! to summarize, leorio is my friend and i love him. he makes me immensely happy and is a major contributor to my health and overall well-being.

2. all the people i ship romantically with him:he's literally the single most shippable character in the entire series, and i'm willing to consider him with nearly every adult character(guys send me all your obscure leorio ships!!), but the ones i ship him most with are cheadle, melody, and zepile. there are others, too, but i'm not so sure about the romantic aspect of it (namely, with hisoka).

Favorite character: It’s a dead tie between Killua and Feitan.

Least Favorite character: Shaiapouf. 

5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon): Oh god. Honestly I don’t really have any ships for this show? I’m definitely a fan of Killua/Gon, and Meruem /Komugi tho.

Character I find most attractive: Probably Feitan? My favorites are totally short, black-haired, bad guy types.

Character I would marry: Umm… Killua maybe? Once he’s, you know, not 12, lol.

Character I would be best friends with: Maybe Bisky? Or Killua or Gon.

a random thought: I really, really need to rewatch this show, lol. 

An unpopular opinion: Kurapika is still one of my favorite characters, even tho he’s kind of a dick at the end.

my canon OTP: Is there even a canon OTP in this show? I honestly have no idea.

Non-canon OTP: Meruem/ Komugi.

most badass character: Feitan. I mean c’mon, that bastard can summon his own sun.

pairing I am not a fan of: None really? I guess I don’t follow enough on here to see any.

character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): No clue. I’ve only seen the 2011 anime.

favourite friendship: Killua and Gon are BFF goals okay.

character I want to adopt or be adopted by: I would probably adopt Killua just because his home life seems a little rough.

my thoughts: 100% for it. They’re both insane and seem like a good match for each other.

What makes me happy about them: Them finding someone who had zero issues with each others, um…quirks. 

What makes me sad about them: I wonder if either of them actually posses the stability for an actual committed relationship.

things done in fanfic that annoys me: Never read any. I’ve just seen cute fan art.

things I look for in fanfic: None.

My kinks: Honestly I don’t remember enough about either one of them to even begin to think of what kinks I would look for.

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: No one, probably.

My happily ever after for them: That they could actually mange to stay together and support each other (I’m so uninformed on this ship, I’m sorry)

How I feel about this character: Best dad. 11/10 would recommend. 

All the people I ship romantically with this character: I vaguely recall wanting to ship him with Kurapika but I don’t know if that was actually a thing or if I’m just making shit up.

My non-romantic OTP for this character: I hope he still gets to hang out with Gon. Does that count?

My unpopular opinion about this character: I don’t remember/ know enough to say anything.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: That he got to see Gon again after meeting with his dad.
