Sometimes I see complaints about Fallout 3/4/the show where they nitpick things that they "changed" and it makes me realize. A lot of people using the classic games as an example of why they don't like these nitpicks obviously never played the classic titles and are going off something they just heard and assumed to be true

Hey! Welcome to my little shitstorm of an au! Obviously I’m gonna talk about it for a little bit because I never learn when to stfu and I feel like there’s a couple of things that I need to bring up to tie the whole thing together.

So this layout is kinda new to me. Technically is a roleplay but also at the same time there’s not gonna be any interaction with other rp blogs. Y’all are more than welcome to rb for your own roleplays though. There’ll be plenty of random shitposts that can be taken out of context.

This blog is being made to mimic an old school website. Y’know the ones where there’s an interactive wall for the students to post on? Yeah that. The post on this blog are going to be a mix of three things (technically four but I don’t think my ooc/admin posts really count).

ANNOUNCEMENT POSTS: Announcement posts are going to be used in place of actual posts for a site admin. Most of the time they’re going to be for lore drops that aren’t really relevant but are kinda fun to put into the storyline. For example: a background character or a character who isn’t that relevant to the story arcs birthday.

WALL POSTS: These wall posts are supposed to be posted “by students.” Once again they’re going to be used to drop more lore crumbs because high schoolers gossip a ridiculous amount and I think it’s funny.

FIC POSTS: The final type of posts are going to be fic posts! These will be link drops to my ao3. The fics will contain the main lore/arcs. They’ll also be reblogged to my main.

This story has odd publishing schedule to say the least. There are twenty-two story arcs. The storyline itself starts September 2nd 2024 and ends June 18th 2026. Each story is also planned to be posted on an accurate date, like in real time.

One arc is equal to one month. For example Arc 1: Intro to The Losers Club, takes place throughout September. The first official fic is going to be labeled like this on any master list: 1.1: (INSERT TITLE HERE). These works will either be oneshots or multi chapters. Any multi chapter will be split into “parts” like if a multi chapter is four chapters in total and there’s only two chapter total it’ll be labeled simply like this: 2/4.

Also there are some darker themes in these stories! Firstly, it’s high school. What high schooler doesn’t have issues? Secondly, it’s South Park and that itself is pretty self explanatory. And finally, I’m fucking delusional and think it’s funny.

Speaking of me though, HI!!! If you’re a mutual on my main who’s stumbled upon this mess, yes it’s Clouded. If you don’t know know who I am you can find me at my main: @justyourtypicalwriter where I am much more active and my posts are very much unplanned, unlike this blog. It’s become a favorite project of mine in the short time I’ve been working on it though and I hope you grow to enjoy it as much as I do!

Actually, to add to that post that you recently re-blog I think that’s one of the things that caused me the first begin to question how people view C!Dream when it comes to the whole ‘C!Dream manipulated techno’ overlooking the whole part about how that removes autonomy from Techno own actions also kind of turn Dream into this villain sue who is responsible for every single event in the serverwhich is a very common problem here. Like the dude didn’t even manipulate. He just saw an opportunity where one of the more powerful members of the servers is is pissed at L’Manberg a country that wants to be destroyed and all you have to do is just walk up and be like hey bro do you want destroy together? He’s a very smart guy and he is capable of manipulation, but not every strategy that he does is manipulation. Some of it is merely just taking an opportunities to gain an advantage in the situation. Plus, I just think that putting doomsday down to all of dreams manipulation is not really smart. All it is it’s just a domino effect due to a series of bad decisions and people who already have a dislikes towards the country taking advantage of those decisions to get the results that they wanted ���

This is definitely how I feel about the situation too. No hate to the person I rb because i still genuinely think their take is well written and well researched, but when it comes to theorizing there will always be holes and a bit of bias. I've taken into account the fact the person I rb looked at the smp chronologically rather than using new info and looking back with new knowledge. And while that definitely makes sense, the majority of points I went against didn't change based on just the staged conflict.

I think seeing Dream as the mastermind in full control of the plot undermines a lot of intelligence other characters has. That take in particular undermined the planning the butcher army put in and any bias they has towards specific characters. For example, Quackity had the butcher army room set up before Tommy got exiled because he has personally beef with Techno. There's also the fact that Tubbo saw Techno as a more immediate threat because he believed that L'manberg had Dream under their thumb and that they were on neutral terms. That meant that, by his logic, Techno was more likely to attack and needed to be dealt with. Then there's the fact that the Drundy wedding was still canon at the time and Fundy was all googly eyes over Dream which meant even he was more inclined to go for Techno first.

Dream is an opportunist. He's strategic first and manipulative later. Having Eret betray L'manberg was strategic. That's the reason L'manberg tries to get a spy as well. Dream also expected more of a fight than what he got. I mean, he made a backup plan in case someone died 😭 the final control room seems overkill in hindsight but Dream fully expected an equal battle and planned accordingly.

Dream is a little bitch and a manipulator and smarter than he needs to be, but at the same time I think pointing every minor story detail back at Dream does harm to the overarching storyline. Technoblade is an intelligent character. He's pointed out Dream's inconsistencies and fuck ups more than any other character. Dream tries to sway his opinion here and there, sure, but whether or not Dream said anything Techno still would've been upset about the government reforming. Techno still would've known about and aided in Wilbur's self destruction hence his excited "he actually did it!" when Dream reveals that Wilbur blew up L'manberg.

And at the end of the day someone is probably gonna disagree with this take because I'm not a mastermind Dream believer and that's fine, but I also urge these people to look at the behaviors of other characters and see if there's a pattern in how they act without factoring in Dream or even Tommy, and I'm sure you'll find it.

I’ll start with the ships question first, because I feel like the second question is a hell of a loaded one. Basically, I’m not a shipper, and don’t really get it. But ship and let ship, don’t ship and let ship, as long as you’re not being an asshole about it, I won’t get upset. Hence why I haven’t made one of ‘em ‘ranking ships’ lists, because I really don’t care.

Won’t stop me from having capital-O-Opinions, though. My friends will know that TanqrCraft became a bit of a NOTP for me because of its overabundance and some poor interactions with the forefathers of the ship (2021/2022 RBB fandom was wild, guys, be glad you weren’t there), and my theory on PinkNebula feels controversial, as I've said. I am slowly working on the PinkNebula essay, but it’s not a priority, so it might not come out for a while.

As for the second question, as much as I love rambling about characterisation, I think attempting to show how I characterise all fourteen of BLSMP’s main cast (including Jimmy and Russo) would be quite difficult, especially trying to keep it short. I do have my hypothetical 'bios' for a hypothetical ref sheet, but those are as much about their backstories and set-up than it is about their personalities.

So…who’s up for a drabble under the cut? This is something that I feel like definitely happened during BLSMP, but it doesn’t fit anywhere during the story, plus you know the cast, so you don’t need a scene like this.

Lewis Hamilton after finishing P4 in Hungary | 23.07.23 The initial get away wasn't the worst. Max had a good one. I had wheel spin. Then Max ran me a bit wide and got done by the two McLaren's. Not a great start. Kinda reminiscent of like 2015 when I felt back from first. After that I just didn't have the pace to keep up with these guys. The balance of the car was pretty awful on that first stint. I just couldn't keep up with them. Bit by bit as we got through the next couple of stints the car started to become more drivable. And then the last stint was obliviously much better. If we had the pace at the end we would have been a lot better through the day but... But I'm gonna take the positives from yesterday. Amazing effort from the team to get where we were and to beat everybody in qualifying was really spectaculair to us. And obviously shows that whiles we don't have the best car it was an incredible lap. And we have a lot of work to do. We're a long way off beating the RB's in a race and now we behind the McLaren's. But we got to keep pushing. Single lap pace quickness? This weekend it was quicker. And we don't know the reason. We generally have a bigger wing than some of the others. Like the RB's for example but they seem to have more downforce from their floor. We have a lot of work to do... Ehm yeah... I'm like a broken record. I just keep telling the guys: we need to go that direction. I love to see that either this years or at least next years car.

Ok so this took a while because well obviously the broken foot and all that. But also 24 ended up being a surprise one where I just kept revising and revising so I'm just gonna have to do that all on it's own because that was getting out of hand.

So for Riptide/Reina because she's really the only OC I talk about on here these days.

So, so, so emotionally and physically affectionate. More physically, like if she likes you she is leaning against, draping over, sitting on, just no personal space only velcro.

As for emotionally affectionate even in casual speech she's calling people dear, love, trout. She also lets people she cares for know she cares for them especially when leaving or ending a call she'll say love you or such whether platonically or more because she really regrets not getting to say that to Raymond and Duncan before getting taken away from them.

A mischievous shit sense of humour especially towards Duncan. She loves to tease him and then run away laughing(that ghost bit in the dlc for example). She also loves puns, absolutely adores them and the suffering they cause to everyone around. She also does appreciate a good dry bit of humour though, a razor sharp bit of sass can have her giggling for days. Plays on words and being a pest to Duncan are her favourites though.

What she usually does and what makes her feel safest and most comfortable are mostly two separate things for a majority of her life. What she usually does is hide somewhere small and dark and curl into a fetal position and use a bunch of glamour magic to hide herself and go semi catatonic till she gets through whatever she's going through.

What makes her feel safest and most comfortable is curling into a fetal position with her back against Duncan's back like how they used to sleep as kids so that they were protected.

This one is hard because I mostly write her as being functionally immortal because of her fae nature. So the concept of her being dead and having people think about what she did just does not occur to her. Also she kinda doesn't care what mortals think of her aside from Raymond, Duncan, and Fry.

"No other car gains that much speed with DRS activated than the Red Bull. Ferrari was able to close the gap a bit. Mercedes and McLaren still have some work to do. The DRS effect plays massively into Red Bull's cards wherever there are three DRS zones or the DRS sections are disproportionately long. Apparently F1 has plans to only allow DRS in the race and not in quali anymore. If those plans succeed, it would hurt Red Bull the most."

Lets start wid something that shud be immediately obvious: removing DRS in quali is not just gonna ‘hurt’ the team wid the most powerful DRS, its gonna hurt all the teams, regardless of how their own DRS performs. DRS, and the suspension/front and rear are all built in conformity wid the new regs, they're a complete package, drs is not just a magical button that lets Verstappen drop .800s on his teammates head like a super power. Its a natural progression of what what was once a simpler, less ambitious race-focused project: reduce drag, help cars overtake, stay awake, period. Quali’ purpose is to put together the fastest lap. Literally the whole point of measuring performance over one lap is that u need the car to achieve its top speed. DRS can help wid that, but not all drivers know how to maximize their quali setups, let alone DRS, which is how u get a dawg like sharl vs somebody like lance stroll.

Despite the scary picture AMuS is trying to paint here, there aren't always 3 drs zones and they're not always ‘disproportionally’ long. Monaco a perfect example of this. rb19 ‘DRS advantage’, if u wanna call it that, in Monaco quali, had nothing do wid super gains on a straight. Max and Nando both used that single DRS activation zone to improve their exits. Thats flat out, pure skill, and there is not a button in their car that cud have told them how to do it. Max did it so well he bagged an all timer. Thats the best possible lap u cud have put together in Monaco and like it or not DRS actually gave Nando a fighting chance, levelled the field up until Max pulled those final sectors out of his ass wid pure mastery of his ground effect car. So here u have a drs aided quali session that still went down to the wire, because drs, again, isn’t just a magical speed button anymore, and it does work as part of a whole, driver and setup.

Now lets break down fig. 1: Top-Speed-Vergleich GP Belgien 2023 🌷

As u can c its a top bitches only event, it excludes some interesting torpedo cars I wud love to analyze too, like for example that ungodly Williams.

Also some comments on Spa. Spa has 2 DRS zones. Its a particularly representative circuit because of its mixture of long straights, low and high speed corners. Its an old school type of track, very cerebral, very strategic. Its the longest track in f1, and one of the quickest too. Obvi u got eau rouge. But then also the kemmel straight. So overall a pretty good place to give these machines a stretch and put tire management skills to the test.

rbr gains 20,3 kph wid DRS open, but without drs, top speed is still a whopping 320,5 kph. Rocket. However,

Ferrari gains 19kph wid drs. Their top speed sits at about ~2kph less than rb19 wid or without drag, cud have been a comfortable pole for sharl wid how the Ferrari car was setup. The only reason he didnt get it was because he couldnt put a good lap together.

15,3kph gained from mclaren's DRS. No DRS, they settle at 311,6 kph. Mclaren never did benefit much from DRS, but they seem to be hunting down a rbr solution for that, and wid moderate success. Mclaren particularly monstrous in medium speed corners, prolly one of the best cars in the grid. Spa not so kind to them in this regard. Still, a very VERY strong lap from Oscar in the shootout ((no drs)) to nearly take it from Max ((11 tenths to pole)). Imo Max cud have hustled a lil more, he chose not to, this time it was enough.

only 10 kph gained wid DRS for M£rc's surprisingly respectable top speed of 319,8kph wid Lewis’ setup. 0,2kph separated them from the rb19 rocket when drs isn’t available. Softs and an empty tank are the w14s best friend. BUT

DRS added ‼️25 kph‼️ ((😐)) to GR's m£rc in Spa. Even tho this is a bigger gain than even the rb19 it’s not at all representative. His top speed was already lacking in comparison to Lewis' at 327,5kph. Difference between the m£rcs and their DRS efficacy can be explained wid George's very aggressive setup for Sunday that didn’t quite work even though it was a nice try. w14 has the operating window of a ripped plastic bag.

AMuS absolutely correct, 20,3 kph less on a straight wud hurt rb19 in quali, as its literally the highest advantage gain wid drs. However, even tho again all of this is speculation, we're just going by whats being reported, and they've had some misses lately, rb19 still the 'fastest' car wid or without drs. 340,8kph and 320,8kph is still the top of the table.😐 Lets not even bring management, drag, aerodynamics or god forbid, driver skill to it. Realistically, the teams that are able to fight Max for p0le either via outstanding conditions or new formats that don’t allow drs, f£rrari and m£rc, have both failed to capitalize on Sundays and beat Max for 8 straight races. Thats because rb19 is not a drs powered rocket, its simply the best ground effect car in f1, and the drs is a result of that, not the other way around.

So. What IS the purpose of a drs quali ban? Whats the justification for something like that? Wud they bring up 'entertainment value' or, worse, attempt to make it about 'competition'? And what type of message does that send to these other teams, to fans and drivers, and the culture of f1 in general, about the grids own competence, or lack thereof?

hi anon!!!!! tbh I can't say for sure because I haven't been around from the beginning and also I'm not that deep into those spaces where these kinds of conflicts usually happen, so I'm probably gonna tag a couple of older mutuals who might be able to answer ur question more accurately, but I will say my own two cents.

from what i've gathered since ulting mx I can tell you that there is definitely some conflict and tension going on between the korean side and the intl side but in comparison to some other fandoms i've seen i'd say it's a bit milder. i feel like the two sides mostly ignore each other unless there is major thing going on. like for example i think (again, i wasn't there and im just relaying what ive heard over the years) during the whole wonho situation in 2019 was one of the times kmbb and intl clashed bc from what ive heard, the majority of the stans who wanted wonho out were korean while most intl stans were supporting wonho and wanted him to stay/get back in mx. also everytime monsta x has overseas schedules there are a group of kmbb who really whine and complain about not breathing the same air as mx for two days (at one point some members addressed it and kinda scolded them for their behaviour during their world tour).

I have not played Kingdom Hearts or basically ANY Final Fantasy games aside from X, VIII and XVI. I won’t follow you if you are from any of the other games or from KH. I don’t follow blogs that are just companions for in-game roleplay. I don’t really do in game rp. I also won’t really follow aesthetic blogs for characters because I am strictly interested in writing. 

I am open to plotting multi-WoL threads. It just has to be plotted out a little bit. I do have some options for non-WoL verses, but Roi is VERY DIFFERENT in those verses. I can also leave things vague until we decide.

Roi does not like or trust Garleans. He gradually gets better with this, but he still has a lot of personal issues with them. He can be downright aggressive at times. He also hates A LOT of characters I don’t. I don’t want to water down his very real feelings. I LOVE Fordola, but Roi hates her with a  passion. There are a lot of examples.

IN REGARDS TO MAINS/SHIPS: If you go inactive or stop interacting with me, I’ll probably just remove you. I am always open to becoming mains again. But it is kind a sad to go to my mains page and see no one that still interacts with me.

Roi is, by default, the WoL. I have added a non-WoL verse. it’s very different from his main verse. I can use this when interacting with WoLs. My default will be WoL, however. I can do non-specific interactions around ARR, and depending on that it could branch off to him joining the scions since he does have the echo, and going down a different path. but it’s only if plotted out with specific partners. Roi was not going down a good path in ARR. His ONLY goal was to get stronger so nothing would hurt him again.

Roi is incredibly traumatized. He’s got a lot of issues. In general, in ARR he can appear reserved and standoffish, whereas in HW he is at his lowest. Dealing with him in heavensward is VERY DIFFICULT. He slowly starts improving from stormblood on. But please keep in mind that Roi has some ugliness inside of him. He usually takes it out on himself. 

Roi does not like the empire. They ruined his life and more or less killed his entire family. he has almost no sympathy for them. He can feel for conscripts who have no choice, but anyone willingly in support of the empire is an enemy to him. He HATES them. Roi LOATHES the empire. There are a few imperials that he is more sympathetic towards. He has very complicated feelings about Yotsuyu for example because of her circumstances and his own personal feelings about society. But yeah, if your muse is imperial he is not going to get along with them. He eases up as time goes on, but he will not go easy on reminding them of the sins of the empire.

gonna ramble a little about process, because this is the first thing i’ve managed to draw in a few months, and certainly the first good omens art since reading the book in 2017/watching season 1 in 2019.

hmm. i started this drawing because i really liked that one hd photo of them carrying crowley’s plants to his bentley. it had a nice composition, albeit with their legs cut off, and i like plants, even though actually drawing them can be frustrating sometimes. anyway, i didn’t have big ideas or elaborate plans for this drawing—i thought i could squish them together a little, add proper lower bodies, make a portrait-oriented composition to create a new lockscreen wallpaper for myself.

that was all the plan, really. nerve-wracking though it was to be so out of practice with drawing, it helped to think i was doing it for completely selfish reasons. even if i got an ugly thing at the end of it, it would be for my eyes only. but these characters, man. crowley and aziraphale were so fun to draw! especially once i started leaning into their concept design rather than the appearance of the tv show actors, and having fun with it.

you’ll notice i made crowley taller. half of it is probably because i gave him higher heels, because to me that seems to fit his personality. but also because i really enjoy exaggerating height difference as a couple-dynamic trait. and making crowley taller enforces the impression of his lanky build versus aziraphale’s plumpness. and their shape languages are a delight! drawing crowley with generally sharper angles and hard edges where aziraphale is all rounded angles and soft folds. a good example is their forearms holding the boxes—the concavity of crowley’s lines as compared to aziraphale’s fuller shape.

so their character designs are cool to artistically interpret in terms of complementary and opposite shape languages! which makes the plants they’re carrying all the more interesting. notice the broad-leaved plants in crowley’s box, how full and round-edged they are. and how the ones aziraphale’s carrying are more triangular and sharp-edged? idk it’s just a fun bit of incorporating that idea of complementary opposition, of saying things about their relationship dynamic without really saying them.

what else? i wish i made this more dynamic, honestly. it’s something i struggled with before i went on an extended art break, and still continue to struggle with. my art doesn’t feel as alive, as full of movement as i’d like it to be, and for two characters as buzzing with a sense of motion as aziracrow, it can feel a little bit sad. nor is this the most polished thing in the world. but that’s all okay too. this was, after all, a personal project i couldn’t help but share because i thought in the end they looked cool enough some people might appreciate looking at them too!

on that note (ha!) thank you for all the notes! i read all the rb tags and deeply appreciate them—especially now, when i’m a more unsure of my art skills than anything. your kindness really means a lot! 💛

Why deaths matter in stories, a Zark Rant ™ (With spoilers, obviously)

(I always value opinions, so feel free to rb or comment!)

I think it shouldn't need to be said that I LOVE the Callander brothers, so of course I wish we had more content on them, given my pinned, but... I'll say it anyway.

I'd love to know where they're really from, personality, looks, etc. Although I think we can gather a little bit from the few interactions we have about them, like Mac being someone quick to anger and Davey being very prone to addictions; gambling and alcohol as an example. Jenny having a 'spark' which I think means she was sassy and quick-witted, but that's just my opinion. I still WISH we knew more about the three of them, but their deaths (and the rest of the deaths in the game) MATTERED. EVERY death in EVERY piece of media SHOULD matter. You can't kill a character just because.

The thing is, I've seen a few people say (Unironically, let me add) that their deaths meant nothing...which....what??? Did we play the same game?

Let's start by stating the obvious; if nothing happens in a story, as in, no characters die or someone gets hurt or ANYTHING happens...you don't have a story. A good story has a good conflict, it needs tension, it needs something to move the plot. In rdr2...there's a lot of shit going on....the law are after the gang, the wapiti's problems, problems WITHIN the gang, etc...

Given some interactions, it could be theorized that issues with Dutch being a little 'erratic' per se has happened before. Arthur seems to think it'll just go back to normal, that they just have to wait for Dutch to go back to 'normal' (Which is a little scary ngl. One of your surrogate parents getting mood-swings that end in people dying being 'normal'...god bless you Arthur Morgan <3)

I won't talk about it further, cause there's enough people talking about it, but Dutch probably has BPD or another sort of personality disorder that makes him like that...

Why am I talking about this? well, by the time we're playing as Arthur, Dutch is slowly going deeper and deeper into this 'manic' state (I'm using that word in quotes because I'm unsure of what other word to use, I apologize if I'm using it incorrectly.)

Why? Well, there's a good few reasons, but one of them is the ferry job.

It's the Callanders and Jenny's death. It's the fact that it went SO DAMN WRONG that they were cornered, and he nearly lost everything. We don't know exactly what happened, but it ended in him listening to Micah AGAIN (Even after all that shit going wrong. And he continues to listen to Micah again and again...) and killing a young girl in what was, apparently, a 'bad way'. He didn't listen to Hosea and Arthur, and it almost cost him his own life. It costed him much more, too.

You may say whatever you want about Dutch, but at the start of the game, he at least SEEMED to truly care about his gang members. Sure, he was already a little paranoid, but he even saved Sadie. He could've left her. He left John and Arthur at the end, his own sons, so why not leave her back then? Because he wasn't down spiraling just yet. He was his more 'normal' self, the caring and sweet leader everyone followed. The man that they all praised. Later on in the story the ferry job, his friends deaths, his best friend's (if not more) death and just all the stress put on his shoulders weighed him down to his knees, and all he could look up to was Micah, the one person praising him so much his ego inflated into a balloon he THOUGHT would bring him up again. It did not. Their death were a sign the gang was gonna start to fall apart. It was a sign that listening to Micah would only end in pain and suffering...and Dutch didn't listen. He never does. He cared. Their deaths struck him. And then more people died, and more shit went wrong, and MORE shit went wrong and--

In the words of someone I talked this with : " There's an entire story for a reason. The plot exists for a reason. If you want to create a fix-it, that's fine. You want to revive characters, that's fine! But never forgot the true point of the game. Their time was very short, but their deaths had an impact, and to so bluntly go "It meant nothing" ouhh. ..Ouhhh.. OuhhohjgI WILL FIND UOU "

So...yes, their deaths mattered. Not only Dutch suffers from it, too. Arthur always tries to stay calm around Jack, dimming down situations to keep him happy (Which is admirable, given the amount of shit that poor kid sees.), yet he is visibly FUMING when the agents talk about Mac's death, he even throws his rod to the sand. Arthur solemnly mentions Davey while they're playing poker. Bill talks about Mac with obvious care. Sean says it's a shame they died, Lenny misses Jenny and Hosea talks about her fondly, Karen mentions her to Javier.... You get my point? To these characters, they weren't just fictional, they were people they lived with for who knows how long, people they eat together with, people they shared emotional moments with...and even though it's clear the Callanders weren't the best of people, they were missed. After so much shit happens, the gang has barely any time to grieve their companions. Yet they do. Mostly silently, perhaps, just a chat or two to not break down completely. But no one is forgotten. Everyone is buried. Everyone is talked about. I'm unsure how to end this...so....uhm...thanks for coming to my ted-talk LOL.

It’s love at first sight when your childhood friend Elvis asks you to be a part of his comeback special. But there’s no way Steve Binder, director extraordinaire, feels the same way… right?

Being a dancer who was childhood friends with Elvis Presley and still kept in touch with him to this day definitely had its perks.

Like, for example, when Elvis called you up and hired you and several of your fellow dancers to be in an NBC special he was filming.

Your jaw drops. “You’re serious? You want us to be in your special?” You were from a fairly small studio, surely there were some larger, more experienced groups he could have asked.

“Of course, Y/N,” he laughs, “I know you’re good, and I know your friends are too. Plus it’ll give us a chance to hang out a bit. I know we haven’t gotten to see each other a whole lot recently, and I’d like to fix that.”

“I’d really like that, Elvis. I’ll let the other girls know. Thank you so, so much,” you beam, “Oh, and just be prepared? They’re all really big fans.”

“I’m always prepared, Y/N, don’t you worry.” He replies, and you can hear the smug grin in his voice.

“Alright, when should we expect to see you and your ego?” you tease

“Steve and Bones wanna do a pre-rehearsal meeting next Saturday, is that alright?”

You nod, “Yeah, sounds perfect! I’ll make sure everyone’s there.”

Your friends and fellow dancers are, understandably, ecstatic at the idea of dancing in Elvis Presley’s special, and one of the girls jokingly comes up with a pact that if this happens to lead to one of the girls’ big breaks, the six of you will support each other no matter what. You all eagerly agree, with one glaring exception: Marie.

The snooty blonde simply rolls her eyes, scoffing “If it’s going to be anyone's big break, it’s gonna be mine, and I promise I won’t need you all when I’m at a studio that actually appreciates my talent.” She throws a pointed glare your way. The mood ruined, the rest of the girls go to pack up their things. They mumble amongst themselves, used to Marie’s moods by now. You sigh as you collect your belongings. You and Marie have been unofficial rivals since the beginning of your career at the studio, where the two of you were neck and neck competing for a lead spot until your director picked you for the position. You were shocked and honored, as you had been sure that Marie was going to get it, but leaving Marie in second place had carved a rift in your previously somewhat-friendly relationship that you had never been able to fix.

A week later, your group is set up in a hotel that Elvis picked out for you, and the girls are chatting excitedly— all but one. Marie had already found several “problems” with the hotel, and rather than being practically giddy about this opportunity you all had, she was almost detached, as if this was simply something she deserved. You take a deep breath and try to ignore her as you set out for the studio.

The gaggle of girls, with Marie cooly leading the charge, enters the studio. You slink to the back to quickly comfort Lucy, a fairly new addition, who suddenly looks very nervous.

“Hey, there they are!” You hear Elvis cheerfully proclaim, no doubt recognizing some of the girls in the group. You give Lucy’s hand one last squeeze and step in front of Marie to greet your friend. You ignore her glare burning into the back of your head as you pull Elvis into a hug, “It’s good to see you, thank you so much for this.”

He smiles as you step away, looking from you to your girls, “No, it’s really me who should be thanking y’all. I’m excited to see what we do together. Now,” he claps his hands, all business, and turns back to the table set up, where there are two other men sitting and waiting.

“This is Steve Binder,” Elvis says, gesturing to the man with neat brown hair, an ascot tied around his neck, and the prettiest blue eyes you’d ever seen in a man, “and this is Bones Howe,” he gestures to a man with darker hair and round glasses, “These fine gentlemen are the directors and producers of the show, really the masterminds behind it.”

This is clearly a cue for them to speak, but there’s only silence, and Steve is… staring at you? You flush, hoping you don’t have something on your face. Eventually Bones takes the lead, explaining their ideas for the special while Steve pulls himself back to reality.

They take time to answer any questions you all have, and the conversation concludes. The other girls leave the room giddy as can be, while Elvis pulls you aside, leading you over to Bones and Steve.

“Boys, this is Y/N, a very dear friend of mine,” he says, “I know I’ve already told you about her—” at that you shoot him a questioning glance, but he ignores you, continuing “— but I wanted you to meet her personally.”

“Pleasure to meet you,” Bones says, reaching out for a handshake.

“We’ve, uh, heard a lot about you,” Steve says with a smile.

“All good things, I hope?” you reply, shooting a teasing glance over at Elvis.

“All fantastic things,” Steve assures you as you shake his hand, and you may just be imagining things, but it seems like his hand lingers in yours for just a little longer than normal. Butterflies erupt in your stomach and your face flushes at the genuine compliment.

The four of you make small talk for a bit before Steve and Bones have to leave, presumably working out more behind-the-scenes stuff for the special.

Elvis gives you a knowing smile as the two of you exit the studio together.

“What?”

His smile widens, “Nothin’, just… you and Steve sure seemed to hit it off.”

You feel your face heat up. “Yeah, he was nice,” you shrug.

“Aw c’mon, Y/N,” Elvis nudges your shoulder, “I’ve known you for too long, you can’t hide a crush from me. Don’t worry, Steve’s good people.”

“I just met him, Elvis, he definitely doesn’t like me like that,” you reply, no longer bothering to deny it.

“You never know. I’d be happy to talk you up, if you like.”

“Sounds like you already did that,” you raise an eyebrow at him.

“What? I can’t brag about my friend?”

“Well, I never said that.”

“Y’know, I’m sure I won’t even need to talk you up,” he says as you finally approach your respective cars, “He’s gonna see for himself how amazing you are during rehearsals.” His tone turns a touch more sincere, “Seriously, Y/N, I really appreciate you bein’ here. I’m so excited for this.”

You smile at the gleam in his eyes, “Well, thank you for calling. I’m really excited, too. I’ll see you tomorrow, ‘kay?”

“See ya tomorrow. Steve’ll be there, too!” he calls cheerfully as the purple Cadillac pulls out of the lot.

You sigh to yourself as you start the drive back to your hotel. He’s going to be absolutely insufferable about this.

“So, Y/N,” Marie sidles up to you during a break in rehearsals, the other girls crowding around you, “how long have you known Elvis?”

“Oh, um… we’ve been friends since we were kids, grew up together in Memphis,” you explain cautiously. Marie had never shown an interest in your life, what was she up to now?

“Hm, I see. You must’ve had an enormous crush on him, right? I mean, I know I would’ve,” she says with a smirk, eyes glittering with barely-hidden malice.

“No, actually,” you correct her cooly, “He’s more like a big brother to me. Been that way all our lives.”

“Oh,” her smirk falls, “whatever, then.” She turns and walks away, as if that piece of information just ruined whatever game she was playing.

Before you can wonder just what she’s up to, the girls begin clamoring for more information about what it was like growing up with the Elvis Presley, and you’re more than happy to oblige.

Steve comes down from the control room more and more during rehearsals, claiming that being down on the studio floor will help him figure out good vantage points for the cameras. You try to avoid engaging him in conversation, not wanting to distract him, but somehow he always ends up near you during breaks. Not that you’re complaining, of course.

You fail to notice Marie watching you like a hawk as the two of you chat over the course of rehearsals.

During one such break, you decide to bring up the fact that rehearsals have been going on for nearly two weeks, and he’s been down on the studio floor for your performances for nearly half of that time. “Is it really that different from when you’re up in the control room?” you ask, genuinely curious.

“Yeah, the view is much better down here,” he says with a small smile, and you could swear his eyes rake up and down your body for just a split second before he adds, “uh, for placing the cameras, I mean.”

You feel your face heat up, and you hope it isn’t too noticeable. There’s no way he’s flirting right now, right? Before you can respond, your choreographer, Lance, calls everyone back, leaving you to push all thoughts of Steve to the back of your mind.

At the end of rehearsal, Steve calls you and Elvis over.

“So, we wanna try to get some extra shots, for promotions, lighting tests, etcetera,” he explains, “it’s gonna be mostly one-on-one shots, I figured the two of you would be the most comfortable with that versus one of the other girls.”

“Sounds good,” Elvis says as you nod your agreement.

It turns out the shots Steve needs are some of the more… flirtatious ones, which you recognize from the Guitar Man sequence you’ve been working on.

Steve, to your surprise, stays on the studio floor rather than going back up to the control room. As you go through the motions— Elvis standing just behind you, your heads turned so your noses are almost touching, his hands resting on your hips; teasingly pushing him down into a chair, your prop fan in his face�� you happen to glance over at Steve, and… you’re sure it’s your imagination, but you could swear you catch a glimmer of— is that jealousy?— in his eyes.

A crew member comes up to touch up yours and Elvis’s makeup, but he stops them as he sees the clock.

“Hey, Steve, I’ve gotta get going,” he says apologetically, “I promised I’d meet Cilla for dinner, but you guys can keep goin’ without me right? Just… go through the motions or somethin’. See how it looks in the lighting and whatnot.” He shoots you a quick wink, mouthing have fun as he scoots out the door, leaving just you and Steve, plus a couple of crew members in the studio.

“I mean, we do kinda need these shots so we can adjust the lighting properly,” Steve says hesitantly, fiddling with the hem of his sleeve.

“I wouldn’t mind walking you through some of the moves, if you’re comfortable with that?” you suggest softly, doing your best to sound like your heart isn’t racing at the thought of Steve taking Elvis’s place.

“Sure,” he agrees, “uh, where do we start?”

He steps onto the tiled floor and you walk him through some of the tamer moves before one of the crew speaks up.

“Hey, we’re gonna need you guys to do some of the uh… closer ones?”

There’s only one part of the routine that comes to mind, and your face flushes. You nod, “Okay,” and turn to Steve. “Are you… comfortable with that?”

“Sure, yeah.” he nods.

“Okay, so,” you clear your throat, doing your best to appear professional, “for this one you're gonna stand behind me.”

“Like this?” He moves so he’s standing about a foot away from you.”

“Uh, a little closer.”

He steps forward so his chest is just barely brushing your left shoulder, “This better?”

You hum an affirmation, taking a deep breath to calm yourself at his sudden proximity and instead breathing in his cologne, which only makes your heart race even faster. Be professional, you scold yourself.

“Now you’ll, um, put your hands on my hips.”

“Alright.” His hands land on your waist.

“Um, a little lower.”

You pray he doesn’t notice how your breath hitches as his hands slide down to your hips, and his breath hits your cheek as he says softly “Here?”

“Y-yeah,” you exhale, “now, uh, you just turn your head towards me and—“

Your breath catches as you turn to find him staring at you, his nose just barely brushing yours. Your eyes, as if on instinct, flick down to his lips then back to his eyes, only to find him staring at a spot below your eyes. The two of you stay frozen in that moment, your tongue darting out to wet your suddenly very dry lips before you whisper, “I, uh, I think they’ve got what they need.”

“Yeah,” Steve replies distractedly before seeming to snap back to reality, “Y-Yeah! Right,” he says, releasing you and taking a step back.

You feel the emptiness of the space he once occupied next to you, and your heart slowly sinks as he stammers, “I should, uh, get back up there,” he gestures to the control room. “I’ll see you tomorrow, alright?”

You nod, forcing a smile on your face as you wave goodbye, “See you tomorrow.”

Your hand drifts to where his hand laid on your hip, a weak semblance of the way he held you, before you shake yourself, heading towards the dressing room to get out of your skimpy pink outfit. Be professional.

You’ve been fairly successful in hiding your feelings for Steve since then, but everything changes the day you’re finally filming the Guitar Man sequence.

Lance calls for a break and you slide off to the side for a sip of water. The smirk on your face at the sight of your friends crowding Elvis for the moment turns into a surprised smile when you see Steve standing nearby. He was usually up in the control room during filming, what was he doing down here?

You don’t notice Marie’s eyes locked on you as she saunters over to Elvis.

“So…” she begins, squeezing onto the small bench with him where he had just grabbed a Pepsi and sat down, “Is Steve single? Because I really feel like we’d be perfect for each other.”

Elvis chuckles politely. “I’m not quite sure you’re his type, darlin’,” he says, his eyes flicking over to you for the briefest of moments.

Brief, but not brief enough for Marie to miss it. She stands up again, hiding a smirk. “Well, never hurts to try,” she singsongs as she walks away.

You’ve finally worked up the courage to approach Steve but just as you smooth down the pink miniskirt serving as your costume and start to walk over to him, Marie saunters over.

Now, an ordinary observer would’ve seen how Steve tensed up when Marie placed her hand on his arm, standing much closer to him than most would deem necessary, and the way he seemed to look around for help as he engaged her in a stiff conversation.

You, however, only saw the smug look Marie threw your way as she flirted with the man you were head over heels for.

That look was all it took for the courage you worked up to come crumbling down. You slip past your friends, making an excuse about needing some air, and out the back door, where you collapse against the rough brick exterior of the studio.

You feel pressure building behind your eyes and force the tears back, taking a deep breath in and out. You had known it was silly to hope that he would ever have feelings for you beyond platonic but Marie… you certainly hadn’t imagined her being his type, but based on what you had seen, you couldn’t really blame him. Wasn’t a tall, willowy blonde what every man wanted?

Your wallowing is interrupted by the sound of the back door opening, and you look up to see Steve approaching you, a worried look on his face.

“I’m fine,” you try to assure him around the lump still present in your throat, “Don’t worry about me,” you add with a tight smile, “go on back to Marie, I’m sure she’s wondering where you went.”

He frowns as you’re unable to hide the bitterness in your voice. “You know I don’t really, uh, like talking to her, right? I much prefer talking to you,” he says, his eyes soft.

Your heart flutters at the compliment, “You do?”

“Of course,” he laughs, “Why do you think I always ended up next to you during rehearsals?”

You process his words for a moment; he prefers you over Marie?

“I like talking to you, too,” you say, a smile tugging at the corners of your mouth.

“So, uh,” he turns to face you, leaning against the brick wall, “what made you run out here?” he asks, concern clear in his voice.

You shake your head, “It’s nothing, really,” you insist.

“Now I know that’s a lie,” he raises an eyebrow, “You don’t have to tell me, but I wanna help if I can,” he adds softly.

You can’t find it in you to lie to his face, and the words come tumbling out, “I saw you with Marie, and I hated it. She was only flirting with you to get under my skin, I know it, but then it didn’t seem like you were discouraging it or anything and that hurt so much because—“

Your brain finally catches up to your mouth and you stop yourself before you completely ruin the friendship you’ve built.

But Steve isn’t having any of that. “Because…?”

Well, no going back now. “Because… I really, really like you,” you finally whisper, keeping your eyes on the ground to avoid seeing his reaction.

There’s a pause, and your heart crumbles before two fingers come up under your chin to gently tilt your head up. Sparkling blue eyes meet yours, and you hear a whisper of “I really, really like you, too,” before his lips meet yours and your mind is void of everything but him: the softness of his lips on yours, one hand cradling your face as the other gently grips your hip, pulling you close, your hands finding purchase in the lapels of his suede jacket.

He pulls away much too soon for your liking, and it takes you a good few seconds to blink back to reality as you’re greeted by the sight of Steve giving you a shy smile, the hand that was cupping your face now resting at your waist.

“You kissed me,” you say oh-so-cleverly, your mind scrambling to process the event that had just occurred.

“Yeah,” he laughs shyly, “I hope that wasn’t too much?”

You shake your head, “No, that was… that was perfect.” you beam, moving to smooth out the lapels that you had had in a death grip.

“Good, because I’ve been wanting to do that since the first day of rehearsals,” he admits with a laugh that’s absolutely adorable, and you’re about to wrap your arms around his neck and pull him in for another kiss when the back door swings open once more.

You freeze as you hear, “Steve, is everything okay out here, people are wonderin’ wh—“

Elvis cuts off at the sight of the two of you, “Oh. Well it’s about time, you two! Take your time, don’t worry.” He turns, yelling to the rest of the studio something about an extended break.

You and Steve collapse into giggles as the door closes, feeling like teenagers who just got caught by their parents.

“Hey,” Steve says as the two of you calm down, “are you free on Saturday? I’d… I’d really like to take you out on a date,” he chuckles.

“I’d love that,” you smile, “There’s this Italian place near the hotel that I’ve been meaning to try?” you suggest.

“Sounds perfect. I’ll pick you up at 6?”

“I’ll be waiting,” you beam, and you can’t resist giving him one last peck on the lips before the two of you head back inside, your heart much lighter than it was before.

I fell into a bit of a rabbit hole today reading up on the four horsemen, and wow there’s a lot of detail that relates to the book of revelation that are really neat

While resembling more of a halo, it’s certainly interesting if you interpret it as a crown of sorts.

Digging a bit deeper, many believe the white horse rider to be the antichrist instead of Christ. And god does that make it interesting. The antichrist is believed to be a very manipulative person who will rise through the ranks and be seen as a false prophet, and if that’s not Makima

Hey Friendos. I'm gonna impart a little bit of knowledge on everyone about some scams that go around every few months, and that I've seen more than once on Tumblr so far.

Basic Premise: Someone messages you, sends you an ask, or otherwise shows up on your radar with a story. Often it's a believable story, like their cat is in need of surgery or they need to pay rent because they got kicked out or some kind of sob story and they're requesting you boost them or contribute if you can. A lot of the the time these things are scams. Like most of the time.

How to Tell if it's a scam: This can be easy. Look at their profile, look at when they followed you and sent an ask, and how many things they've reblogged, and check if they've made any posts on their own.

Here's some quick ones I see:

Everything they've done is all at the same time or from the same day. For example, every RB is from 8h ago. Maybe if the've done it before there's another day with like 50 posts all in a row. No one sets up their queue like that.

The follow and within a minute you have an ask/dm from them and they've never liked/rb'd from you.

They're using PayPal. PayPal is one of the most widely used money-sending tool for scammers as it's easy to get hold of someone else's account and perform further scams using it without leaving a trail.

Their cry for help is a single pinned post with very few reblogs and no verification.

They don't have any posts of their own, especially text posts.

Scammers don't like to use things like CashApp or GoFundMe because it's a lot easier to track scams, and payouts usually require ID verification. If someone is being legit, they'll probably have multiple avenues of receiving money. I'd use cashapp, set up a GFM, post about it constantly, and have my mutuals RB the shit out of my post by asking them directly for help.

Most of these are set up by bots in droves. They're a little more sophisticated, and are using the lessons learned from all those blank bot accounts you see come up as new followers. They've also been training you; "those random accounts are clearly bots and I'm talking to you like a normal person! I'm totally real and you can trust that because I'm using real words!" That sob story is meant to make you drop your guard. To make you consider that no one would actually try to scam people out of money with such a sad story.

Well there are people that shitty. There are scammers all over that have been manipulating your grandparents out of their retirement savings because they think you need to get bailed out of jail. Before that there were Nigerian Princes trying to give people money if only they could pay for the wire transfer.

Wire forwarding. Fake checks. Western Union scams. All of these things prey on our gullibility. Our sense of honor or curiosity or that someone made us feel special or wants to make us rich! Or our empathy and sympathetic nature, our desire to be helpful and get someone out of a bad situation.

I'm not saying you should think all of these requests are scams. I'm asking you to employ critical thinking, to look for warning signs and make a judgment call.

And if you're ever unsure, hit me up. I am more than happy to take a deep look at these things and give you my best opinion, free of cynicism. I've gotten hit by 4 of these in the last month, so I've got a decent eye on what to see.

here's the old palanauts logo:

it's... i mean, it exists! it's got the 'naut colors and the underline is neat, but asides from the slightly larger P it's rather flat. there's just not much going on there that's visually interesting. it works, but it's not memorable. this was my first time making a logo and it shows

how do you make it more interesting? BOY HOWDY I'M GLAD YOU ASKED (i am putting this under a cut this is getting ginormous)

THIS one is fun. it's got a font with interesting shapes, it's got color variation, and it has references to two of the characters in the project this is for (the O in Crossing being a power symbol and the O in Limbo being Xines's shirt design) as well as having a background symbol. however it's a bit hard to read because of the shades of grey i used and how sketchy Xines's symbol is, and while the white and blue of the power symbol matches Leon and TIDS's colors it looks really out of place seeing as Xines's symbol is the same grey as the lettering.

this logo is from a while ago and getting redone so im gonna share it, it's another Palanauts one and is when i started figuring out breaking up words and messing with alignment + the added colors for me and jorb and shading, it's still relatively "simple" but it's like. Interesting? i go back to this a lot when im thinking about how to construct stuff. a major thing with this was trying to find a matching font that had similar vibes while still being distinct - Palanauts's logo font is Government Agent from BlamBot (great free font resource! i get a lot of fonts from there and another source i'll rb after this) so i wanted to keep that intact while shaking it up a bit. it looks like i used Orange Fizz here, which is another BlamBot font? which i've paired with stuff before, like in this art i still really like and was my first font fuckery attempt:

which is a REALLY good example of font variation! there's like 3 fonts in here and they all fit together well. there's the normal-looking brown font, the big yellow "shout" font, and then the orange "LOUDER [...] PROUDER" that stands out in a different way. these are also all colors already in the image so it fits together, and there's some overlap while still trying to keep it readable.

the key part of this for me is that the brown and yellow fonts look vaguely similar, just that the yellow one is thicker? i don't know the words to describe it better unfortunately, but there's some sort of visual connection there. and then the orange bottom text is sharp and square and angular and WAY different, but has similar spacing to the brown font so it's not too huge a departure. man i made this back in 2017 and i still really like it

anyway, back to logos! this takes notes from the Crossing Limbo and PalanAUts logos: font mixing, coloring the initials to make it pop more (especially bc i shorten Chasing Velocity to CV a lot), swapping the "O" in Velocity for a star ring because that's Team Sonic's logo in this AU, and past that we've got shading, dark and light outlines, and a drop shadow! looking at this now, the shading on the main text is kinda weird - the initials look fine, but i should've used the same shades as "Chasing" on "Velocity". like i can kinda see what i was going for but it feels a bit Off, idk. without the shine, the bottom half feels way darker and less bright than the top half, which makes it feel disconnected.

this did combine into a fun symbol-logo though! using the star ring (without shading) and the initials from the big logo :D

here we've got 1 font, some celshading, the double outline, and swapping out the "O" in Leontids for a triangle. i made this for my mcyt channel!

this is kinda my go-to: a white and/or or black outline, maybe a drop shadow, or basic shading to make it look a little less like it's just flat text. the main thing is i don't want to overcomplicate stuff because otherwise it's just overwhelming to look at. it's supposed to be readable above all else.

the first Rescue logo is fun! it's got a left-to-right gradient, it's got some shading and an outline, and it's got some font mixing. there's 3 different fonts in the "Rescue" bit, and then a 4th font for the subtitle. there's some messing with contrast (especially on the subtitle), and also wiggling the letters a little bit so they're at different elevations (and enunciating that with the color swatches behind them). i wasn't super happy with it though - there's a small handful of fonts i rely on a lot, and this uses nearly all of them, so i'm tooling around trying to figure something out with more variety.

this is a horrendous image. BUT it's unfortunately an insight into how my brain approaches these things! i grabbed some funky-looking fonts, picked out the ones that looked similar to each other while still being readable (this ended up being Gameboy Gamegirl for the R and bigup for everything else), and ran into an issue with the "E" not being very readable so i um. well.

took a bit from Gameboy Gamegirl's E and spliced it into the bigup one. this is hell. i don't know if this will make it to the final version. i also connected the R and S, tried to keep some of the messing with elevation, and added in some dots on the bottom to try and fill in that blank space.

after a lot of hell, we arrive at:

this is still a HUGE wip but you can kinda see where i'm going with this! added the gradient and shading from the old logo, spliced in the subtitle, messed with the outline a bit to try and make the R a bit more readable, and then consigned myself to the fact that cleaning this up is going to be hell on earth. but this is what a mockup looks like!

i use the magic wand tool a LOT, btw. usually with something like this:

so that when i select something it looks like this:

and that's how i'm able to color in like that. i've been using that trick a bit lately, heh.

oh my god i just had a heart attack, i hit "esc" out of instinct and thought i lost this post. i'm going to fucking blow up. ok. let's try and wrap this up

this is what Sol's logo looks with just the "raw" font! again trying to do font mixing, but this time with a focus on it being more distinct like in the Louder And Prouder drawing: his first name is big bold blocky letters with a distinctive look, and then his last name is smaller and less complex-looking. also it lined up nicely :>

however when i filled in the color it was hard to read (mainly the S), so i manually added the highlight so it was readable for me! and also sell the 3D effect a bit more.

the blue worked well in the original art because it had a lot of yellows and oranges and i wanted it to stand out, but when reworking it into a stand-alone logo i ended up switching it to Sol's yellow/orange/red/purple because that has a stronger connection to him visually. it DID mean losing the cyan entirely, so i might add it back in in his last name? i dunno! i'm just screwing around.

TK's went through several iterations:

not shown: the sheer amount of colors the first one went through, the constant struggles with getting the outline to work, the constant struggles with getting the shading to work... there was also a lot of trouble with font matching, both in "getting the fonts to work with each other" and "getting the fonts to match TK's vibe" because that was the most important part of this whole exercise. eventually i settled on using the same font as the first go but with different shading, a subtle gradient, and her shirt color as "neutral ground" while her first and last name have the split eye colors i was initially aiming for. there was also some messing around with balancing what pieces go where - Sol's worked out fine from the get-go, but TK's looked unbalanced until i figured out how to make it look... well, still unbalanced, but unbalanced on purpose. the K in Kurone lines up with the K in TK, and Tank ends at the edge of the T in TK. it's her initials!

also the font used for her full name is the same font as the score from Sonic Adventure 2, so i did a quick google and found this:

so i used that as reference! the lines are gaussian blurred and set to Add with a low transparency. it's fun.

compared to the existential nightmare that was TK, Zyd's was pretty easy, hah. i picked a font:

but i didn't like how the Y looked, so i dug through my fonts to find a similar-looking font with a Y i liked more. after that, i put on the same gradient as her feathers, then added those little ring circle things using the circle tool to match her body markings and she was good to go!

anyway, so what about that Palanauts logo from the start?

here's the 2023 version. still using the same font, but the P has been made larger, there's some shading using the magic wand tool trick, it's got a drop shadow to make it pop out a bit and a thick white outline so it'll be clearly visible regardless of backdrop, and the underline has been split up and is now a bit misaligned to have some visual interest. and also accidentally ended up looking like boss healthbars sorta.

it's still a very simple logo, but that is one hell of a glow-up.

um! i hope this absolute wall of words and images helped! and also sorry for the lack of image descriptions because there are just.. so many images.. agfh.
