Mhm yeah. Here’s part two of this. More of it + some context under the cut!

So we don’t see Shelldon in the movie. I mean. We see his head but it’s not operational and I’m 90% sure that it gets destroyed again.

And honestly??? After everything with Shredder, I don’t think Donnie is in the right mental space to try to rebuild his kinda-son-it’s-complicated. He just lost his home, all of his equipment, was massively traumatized, is in the middle of a dynamic shift with his brothers, and on top of that There’s no guarantee that Shelldon will retain ANYTHING from his previous life. It might just be a scenario of bringing back a blank slate with none of the memories or experiences of the Shelldon that previously existed.

He just starts to get to the point where he’s in the right groove to take the risk and then Krang happens. Which. Yeah. I think he keeps at the project over the years, but only really gets up the nerve to FINALLY boot Shelldon up again when he’s about 19-21ish.

Of course everything works out and it’s like Shelly just took a long ass nap. Of course, this does cause some issues between them moving forward because. Sheldon’s 13, he doesn’t get why Donnie took nearly SIX YEAERS MINIMUM to bring him back. He feels really displaced and it’s just. Not a good feeling to have missed so much (Casey helps him through that and it’s great) but for the meantime it’s A happy reunion!

Thanks for reading, sorry for diving so far into headcannons I just think about them a lot.

playing around with future donnie’s design and all i can say for sure is this:

1) lose an arm gain three

2) dies

@leisi-lilacdreams post about both of the Donnie's getting their twin sense tingling in the latest CAS arc (by @somerandomdudelmao) inspired some dialogue in my brain and so here.

"You let him go!?"

Donnie doesn't bother turning around; he can hear Mini-him pacing back and forth around the lab, and he doesn't have to look to know how this is shaking out.

"What was I supposed to do, tie him to a chair?"

"Yes!?" says Mini-him like he's stupid, which warrants a scoff.

"You know as well as I do that when Leo decides something, you can't talk him out of it."

"Yes, which is why tying him to a chair is the appropriate response!"

"No one's invented a rope strong enough yet, not even me."

"I can. I will. Watch me."

Donnie does not watch. Mini-him is still pacing back and forth, from the sounds of it, so there's nothing to see. It takes him over a minute to finally stop.

"...You feel it too, don't you?"

"Of course I do," Donnie says. He doesn't need any clarification. "We're the same person, I'm just older, smarter, and sexier."

Mini-him huffs, not rising to the bait, which means there are more feelings in the air than Donnie cares for. But he gets it. He wasn't lying about feeling it, after all.

"...We almost lost him," says Mini-him at length, and finally Donnie turns away from his work to look at the kid. He's got his arms crossed tight, looking away, seeing something else. "We did lose him, for a few minutes. But I could still feel it." He sighs, looking down. "If Mikey hadn't been able to open that portal..."

"Then you would have found a way to tear it open yourself," says Donnie, and Mini-him's eyes jerk up from the floor. Donnie just shrugs like he's saying something obvious. "Leos get into trouble, and Donnies save them. Right?"

Finally, a small smile from Mini-him. "He's more trouble than he's worth, though."

Donnie grins, then grabs a wrench and holds it out for the kid to take. "Now are you going to keep angsting or are you going to help?"

"I'm not angsting," he says unconvincingly, but he does come forward and grab the wrench. "What are we working on?"

"Before I tell you, you have to sign an NDA."

"Oh, well, if this is official work, you'll have to pay my contracting fee."

Donnie barks a laugh, even though they both know that neither of them are joking.

u got me tearing up thinkin about EW donnie falling for tim and vice versa bc like..... he deserves it so much. to just be happy. to have someone love him and that he loves back outside of his family

if not a spoiler for future comic, how did their romance (good or bad timeline) start? how did it culminate? how did the others react?

I give Donnie a lot of angst to deal with, but I think the way their relationship starts is just by Tim being such a good and caring friend. He’s a caregiver by nature and Donnie really needs that. Timothy has done a ton of work on himself and working through his own traumas, so he’s very much aware of the small ways he can be there when Donnie needs help and nudge him in a healthier direction. And if Donnie is being stubborn, then Tim can at least be nearby.

They’re that “couple” that doesn’t really have too much in common, but something just mysteriously clicks, and there’s a genuine interest from both sides to learn things from the other.
