City Lights - Spiderman! Jeno

Okay so I wrote this in 2018 back when I mainly wrote for kpop on this blog and I found this in my drafts... I read through it and honestly it was a little too good for me not to post it, I couldn’t just let it rot without anyone ever seeing it... So here you go. Also I’m a sucker for both lee jeno and Spiderman, so it is no wonder I wrote this and poured my everything into it back then :D Enjoy!

The same people, the same classes, the same routine, the same city. Everything was just how it always used to be. You didn’t complain, though, it was fine. You just wished there was a little more excitement in the big city of New York that everyone knew.

And so you looked out of the window, bored to death, as your math teacher was writing exercises on the black board. It was not like you hated math, it was rather that math seemed to hate you. You were seriously trying your best but you and mathematics were just an impossible pairing.

„Hey, need help?“, Lee Jeno’s voice carried through your thoughts and awoke your from your daydreams about adventures and action.

„I was just dreaming, but yeah, please.“, you pleaded and Jeno gave you his all too famous smile.

Jeno was your savior. At least when it came to math. Whenever you looked especially clueless in class he made it his task to whisper some answers or important formulas you might need. He has quite the good memory when it came to stuff like that. Other than that, you usually didn‘t hang with him. He has his small group of friends and they sometimes go out together but they usually keep to themselves. However, everyone swooned over Lee Jeno because he was a sports ace and one of the schools most important basketball players. He also had this smile, where his eyes turn into crescends and everything else around him suddenly seemed unimportant when he gave you that smile. The only thing that made him seem odd occasionally was his particular liking of repairing and fixing things, or in general just doing things with his hands. He was often found in the art class room after school where he worked on whatever project.

But generally, Jeno Lee had everyone wrapped around his fingers, even if he didn’t notice that. And it was not a big deal at all because he was not an annoying guy or one of those bad boys or a class clown. Lee Jeno was just horribly normal and you loved and hated him for it, because this school was filled with enough of weird kids.

At lunch you sat with your friends, like you always did, right next to the table of Jeno and his friends. Your friends were talking about the usual – dumb homework, weird teachers, the latest school gossip – as you just listened to them while eating your sanwich and salad. But then one of them got a notification on her phone and it was a news article on the crime rate of the city and how it apparently increased heavily.

„Honestly, this is horrible. They write that the police is totally overstrained because they don’t have enough men.“, she explained after reading the article. Suddenly everyone turned serious and quiet, a worried expression was plastered on everyone’s face.

„They only seem to focus on the big crimes and important accidents such as big car accidents or bank robbery while the rate of sexual assaults and rapes literally doubled over the last year.“, one of your friends added, looking around the cafeteria.

„Honestly, none of us should go around the city after dark. At least not alone. It seems to be far too dangerous.“, you said, putting your sandwich back on your plate, suddenly not hungry anymore. This is not what you wanted when you asked for more action in this city.

Your friends agreed and then fell into a heated conversation on superheroes and solutions while you kind of clinked yourself out of the conversation and got lost in your thoughts again, your gaze lazily wandering around the room.

That however stopped when your eyes landed on Jeno. Just like you, he didn’t seem to have a lot of interest in his friends‘ conversation and instead looked over to your table. Maybe you were wrong but it seemed like he was listening to your conversation and he probably has for a while now. But then Jaemin, one his friends, ruffled his hair and motioned for Jeno to get up and follow him as everyone was now leaving their table. You just sighed quietly, trying to find back into the conversation of your friends.

The next day, you were alone in math. Jeno didn’t sit in his usual spot behind you, nor did he sit anywhere in class. His friend Renjun told the teacher that Jeno didn’t feel well and therefore stayed home sick today.

It was okay. It was just that now you needed to pay attention to the teachers words as you had no Jeno who would tell you tasks you might have missed. You still stunk at math, but you figured maybe you’d get better if you actually paid attention from now on. Especially now, in your senior year, you kind of felt the need to pay attention and be a good student. And so your tried your best.

Excited about telling Jeno about your recent realization, you happily walked into class the next day just to see that he wasn’t here today, either. You nodded slowly as you thought that maybe Jeno was actually sick, even though he never seemed to miss one single lesson. It was weird; you never once remembered Jeno to be sick at all, he was always there, sitting on the desk behind you, making small talk with your or telling you dumb jokes.

On the fourth day, you began to worry. Jeno was still sick at home, at least that was what Renjun kept on telling the teacher. And she was just nodding and smiling at him, asking if Jeno will be alright soon and come back. Of course she also had a weak spot for him, he was one of her best students. The only one that honestly seemed to be annoyed by Jenos absence was the coach, who desperately asked Jaemin every lesson when Jeno will come back and if he’ll make it to the game on the weekend. Jaemin always just ends up stuttering that he doesn’t know, because the coach always grabs his collar and presses him to the wall while talking to him, then releases him.

Today you decided to sit down in the gym and watch the teams practice as you had a free period. Again, the coach was asking around if anyone has seen Jeno today. Still, not a single sign of a comeback. It was the Friday before the match and the coach seemed even more stressed than before. He threatened Jenos friends, Jaemin, Chenle and Haechan who all were in the team as well – with a raised index finger. „Tell Jeno that if he isn’t here tomorrow I’ll raise hell for the whole team. No one stays home sick for a whole goddamn week!“ The boys just nodded quickly and then got back to playing. You closed your textbook and watched them practice. Maybe you’ll attend your first ever High School basketball match tomorrow, you thought.

Unfortunately, you couldn’t. Your mom had the genius idea of making you look after your younger siblings as she and your dad went out to eat. It was horrible. Your friends didn’t even answer your texts. After your parents arrived again, you instantly took the next bus and ran into the gym, only to be greeted by the leaving masses.

„Y/N!“, your best friend shouted as she saw you. She instanty grabbed your wrist and you followed the people that were now going outisde.

„How was the match?“, you asked as it was the question that burned your tongue the most.

„I guess it was okay.“, she simply replied while trying to watch over the heads of the people. „How can I know, I don’t understand anything about basketball. Jeno was there, however. Apparently Coach Johnsons threat worked. But he wasn’t in a good condition at all, Y/N.“, she then said in a serious tone.

„What do you mean ‚he wasn’t in a good condition‘?“ The cold air of the evening was hitting your face as you went through the door that led to the parking lot of the school.

She turned to you, frowning. „He wasn’t concentrated on the game at all. He also looked horrible, there were scratches and bruises all over his face. It was obvious that he had tried to cover them but not with a lot of success. I mean, it did look hot but like – I don’t know why he stayed home all week but it definetely wasn’t because of a fever or the flu or whatever.“, she sighed, a concerned look in her eyes as she looked around the parking lot. „My brother’s picking me up, you can drive with us.“

You spent the whole weekend at home as your parents said it would be more safe for you. You didn’t complain, though, you had a lot to think about. You also had homework for math and for the first time in forever you considered actually doing them.

But you also had a little hope. When Jeno was back for the match he’ll probably also be back in school, right?

And you were right. The next Monday Jeno was sitting on his seat behind yours. However, you weren’t greeted by his bright smile and a soft ‚Good Morning‘. Instead, there was silence and the dark blue hood of his sweatshirt that was pulled deeply into his face. Still, you could see some bright red scratches on his chin.

For the quiet ‚Hey‘ you gave him you got a murmured ‚Hi‘ back. The teacher seemed happy to have Jeno back and she celebrated it with a suprise test that just got her groans from her students. This time though, Jeno didn’t bother to help you. It was not like you needed it since it was about stuff you did last week but still, it would have been nice to hear his voice. But he remained quiet. After class ended, Jeno was the first one to leave, which was even more unusual behaviour of his.

At lunch, Jeno wasn’t sitting with his friends. They were alone and you took your chance to talk to them. „Hey, Jaemin.“, you asked and the brown haired boy quickly turned his head to you.

„Y/N, right?“

„Yes. I was just wondering where Jeno is? And why he left class so fast? I wanted to talk to him about some of the exercises we did in math today.“ That was a lie. Well, not exactly a lie but also not completely the truth.

„I think he’s crafting again. He’s been like that the whole day, I think he’s just busy.“, he answered and you could see that he said the truth.

„You should go and ask him yourself some time, Y/N. He doesn’t really tell us the truth, either.“, Renjun threw into the conversation and smiled at you a little. You nodded, focusing on your food again. You thought that it would be best to visit Jeno in the art classroom after school, if he was still there.

You waited a few minutes before you headed down the hallways to the art classroom. Most students had already left school when you passed lockers and the last jocks that went to practice on your way. Much to your surprise the classroom was unlocked and the door was even opened a little. You got a glimpse of Jeno hovering over a table, trying to repair something small, as it seemed.

„Hey, Jeno.“, you said as you opened the door a little more and stepped into the room.

Jeno flinched the second you did so, instantly clearing away everything from the table with a wide movement of his arm, hiding the thing he worked on behind his back whilst he turned around. „Y/N!“

You seemed to have truly surprised him, as his expression told you exactly this. Without the hood covering his face and in exposure of the daylight shining through the windows you could actually see all the bruises on his face now. There was one on his right cheek bone and another one above his left eyebrow, a big scratch on his left cheek and a ton of tiny grazes all over his chin and forehead and it almost seemed like he had a healing black eye.

You gulped and whispered a small „Oh my god.“ while Jeno quickly put on the hood again. „How can I help you?“, he asked and then cleared his throat. You tried to read anything in his expression but even if Jeno was trying to hide something, he was defintely good at covering it. The only thing that was different was that he didn’t smile as much, which broke your heart a little more than you wanted to admit.

„I just …“, you stopped for a second, before letting your coverage fall. „I just wanted to check if you’re okay, you seemed a bit off the whole day.“, you confessed as you nervously folded your hands in front of your body.

„That’s very cute of you but … uh ... I’m fine, really. No need to worry.“ The words he said however didn’t convey his body language as the corners of his mouth twitched nervously and his hands were shaking.

„Really? These bruises seem to be quite bad, if you ask me.“, you tried again.

He unconsciously raised his hand up to one of the bruises but then quickly let it fall again. „Oh, those? Last week I got into a really bad street fight and it was honestly not nice, that’s why I needed some time to recover. However, I’m feeling better now, really. I guess it just looks worse than it is.“

You nodded, realizing that he won’t tell you the truth now. „You know … You missed a lot in math last week. Maybe I could explain the subject matter of last week to you when you’re free?“, you then offered, trying to give him a little smile.

He replied with one himself and made your heart jump with it. „That’d actually be quite nice. I totally failed that test today to be honest.“, he said, brushing his hand hrough his hair.

„Cool, then … When are you free?“

„Tomorrow after school? Like … 4pm I’d say?“, he suggested, scratching his neck .

You smiled to yourself at this action that you occasionally saw on him. He looked really cute doing it. „Yeah, 4pm sounds perfectly fine.“

The next day, Jeno left school after math. The whole lesson he seemed a little impatient, he constantly kept rocking his chair und you felt his feet nervously tap on your chair. He almost managed to make you nervous too and you wanted to ask Jeno about what was wrong but he instantly raced out of the classroom after the bell rang and after he didn’t attend any class, as your friend told you.

You almost saw your ‚date‘ in danger, but you still left home at 3.30 pm to be at Jenos‘ on time. You weren’t even sure if it was a date – actually it was just you helping him catch up with math – but you were alone with Jeno and that idea kinda made your stomach turn in excitement. Right now, you didn’t want to think that maybe Jeno just saw the girl in his math class in you.

Quickly after you knocked you were greeted by a middle-aged woman with black hair that was held in a lazy bun. A hand towel in her hand was busy drying a saucepan. She was smiling softly at the sight of you. „Hi, how can I help you?“

You pressed the books you held in front of your body a little tighter to your chest. „Hi, I’m Y/N. Jeno invited me over to catch up on math.“

The woman quickly raised an eyebrow and let both of her hands sink. „Well, I’m May, Jenos‘ aunt. Unfortunately he left 30 minutes ago but I’m sure he’ll be back soon, don’t worry. Please come in.“ She stepped aside to let you walk in.

„His room is upstairs, the last room in the hallway, you can wait there. Do you need anything? Cookies, tea?“

A little swamped with her hospitality you stuttered out „Tea would be nice, thank you.“

You waited in the kitchen until the tea was ready and then went upstairs, following Aunt Mays instructions.

Jenos room was quite messy but you didn’t expect less. You awkwardly sat down on his bed, the only clear space you could find. You dropped your bag onto the floor and put the cup of tea on the nightstand. You really were not the type to snoop around but there literally was a big wall right in front of you on which a hundred pictures and documents were pinned. There were pictures of different kinds of spiders and then spider bites and a lot of old documents from like 10 years ago. All of them were written by or adressed to a man whom you could only identify as Jenos dad. In between all those pictures you found pieces of different fabrics pinned on the wall as well and then there was red string in between, connecting different pictures and notes he wrote himself. You didn’t understand any of what was written on there but before you could get to at least trying to understand it, there was a loud noise coming from the window. It almost sounded like something dropped onto the fire escape outside of the window, so you went to check. But nothing was there, just a cat that was walking around in the inner courtyard and surely didn’t just jump from the roof.

„Y/N!“ Jeno opened the door and walked in the room. „I’m so sorry I forgot about our little math date, Mark needed my help with something.“, he explained breathlessly.

You nodded, still in surprise over his sudden appearance. „It’s okay, really.“, you said, sitting back down on the bed. You discovered new bruises on his face and pressed your lips together at the sight of it.

„I hope you didn’t had to wait too long.“ He kept on talking as he quickly took off his hoodie and dropped it to the floor. He walked over to what looked like the cupboard and opened it, searching for something else to wear. However the mirror that made out one side of the cupboard showed you that Jenos‘ shirt had several blood stains on it. You instantly got up and walked towards him, a more than worried expression covering your face. „Jeno, oh my god that … That looks horrible, someone needs to take care of that.“

Jeno held a new hoodie in his hand, his arms trying to cover his chest in defense. „No, Y/N, I’m fine, I swear- “

„Jeno no, don’t lie. Look at that, that’s fresh blood. What the hell happened?“ You stood in the middle of the room, hands fiddling nervously.

Jeno just shook his head in denial, not sure where he should lay his eyes on. „Y/N, really.“ He took a step into your direction and took your shaking hands in his. „I’m fine.“ His eyes found yours and fixated you, calmed you down. They were like a deep hole you fell into, like one of the rare nights where you sat on the rooftop and looked up into the night sky with a thousand stars shining down.

„Jeno, please.“, you begged in a desperate tone. „I won’t leave before you go to the hospital to let those check. Or at least let me look at them please. I know how to do that, my younger brother constantly needs someone to tend to his wounds.“

Jeno sighed, taking his hands down and letting yours go. „You really won’t give up, will you?“, he then chuckled, looking into the distance. „Okay, you do it then. I don’t have time for the hospital.“

Much to your relief Jeno just rolled up his shirt instead of completely taking it off. However, the deep cut totally distracted you from the fact that Jeno was leaning half-naked in front of you.

You just constantly shook your head and murmured words of disbelief as you treated the wound. Jeno just flinched a few times, not saying a word the whole time. His head was leaned back the whole time and his eyes were closed, his hands resting crossed on his chest. You were almost sure he had fallen asleep and were about to leave, until he called you back. „Wait, please.“

When you turned around you saw that Jeno was looking at you with his head tilted in your direction and just one eye opened. „You forgot about math.“

You almost bursted out laughing at this normal question. „Okay.“, you nodded, sitting down on the desk chair, taking the notes out of your bag. You started talking about the subject matter while looking on your notes, but Jeno stretched out a hand and touched your knee. Surprised at the sudden touch you stopped, looking at him. There was a small smile on Jenos lips as he looked at you. „How can you tell me about this without me looking at the notes? Come closer, I won’t bite. Promise.“ Then he laughed for an unknown reason and you hesitantly rolled closer to the bed. So close that he felt your breath on his cheek and it would have been easy for yu to just lean on his shoulder while both of your hands were holding onto the notes.

It was actually quite realxing talking to him like that, even though you occasionally felt his gaze burn on your skin and his breath on your cheek and his hand that brushed yours - But then you were through with your notes and you left them on his totally overfilled desk before you got up to head home.

Jeno stood up as you did, watching your every move. „Thanks.“

„Hm?“

„Thank you. Thanks for not asking quastions and for treating the wound and explaining math to me, it helped me a lot. I mean it.“ His eyes told you the truth for once, but you were sure he was hiding a lot more in them. He just wasn’t willing to talk now.

You nodded slowly, a smile creeping up on your face. „No problem. It was a pleasure.“

Jeno laughed and handed you your bag, stepping a little closer to you. „Don’t forget that.“, he murmured. You suddenly realized how close he was and everything in your body began to tingle and burn in a sensational way you’ve never felt before. The excitement rushed through your whole body, pumping adrenaline into your veins in high expectation of what was about to happen. You felt your lips brush his and closed your eyes because the feeling was just way too good to be real, but your lips didn’t touch his again.

Jeno pulled back quickly, running his hands through his hair in a chaotic and confused manner. „I’m – I’m so sorry, Y/N, I just really can’t do this. Not now. Please believe me when I say that this is for your own good. I really like you it’s just that … Not at this time, okay? It’s better if you leave now. Again, I’m so sorry Y/N.“ And with that your turned and left, paralyzed by what just happened.

On the subway home you got a message in the groupchat of your friends – one of them had shared a link to an online article on ‚Spiderman – The man who saves our city?‘

With a raised eyebrow you leaned your head against the window and opened the article, suddenly curious as to what it’s about.

Apparently Spiderman was a superhero who swung through the city with something that remdinded people of spiderwebs. It was also his suit who resembled this feature. On a picture that was taken by the journalist who wrote this article you saw someone swinging from one building to the other on an almost invisible string. The suit he wore was completely blue and red and the mask covered his entire face, not giving a glimpse of the person wearing it. According to the article Spiderman supports the police by saving women from sexual assaults as well as he helped catch criminals. You smiled a little as you finished reading, thinking that someone finally heard your calls for some action and adventure.

You got off the sub and walked upstairs just to realize that it was already pretty dark out. Quitely cursing you thought of the fastest way home, which led you through several narrow alleys. You sighed in defeat as you started to walk home quickly. Even if there now was a superhero in this city, you still were sure he couldn’t look over everyone every single minute.

A reliefed sigh escaped your lips as you arrived in the last dark alley without any incidents. You actually liked the darkness, but you preferred it when you were at home, sitting in front you window rather than walking through narrow streets.

You were just about to turn right when suddenly two men in their late twenties appeared right in front of you, slowly walking up to you. You gulped, stumbling backwards as you were hastily searching for something sharp in your bag. You thought that you needed at least something to defend yourself with. Unfortunately though, you couldn’t find anything.

„Hey sweetie.“ „Want some fun?“

You began to shake uncontrollablyas you felt as helpless as never before. A whimper left your mouth as one of them pushed you against the wall and laughed. Both of them held your trapped between them and the wall as they held your wrists so tight that it hurt. One of them laughed in your ear and you could smell a wave of alcohol that came from his mouth.

„Hey, what’s wrong with you guys?“

A voice from behind them suddenly caught their attention as they turned around. All you could see was someone standing there, clothed in something red and blue.

„Don’t have anything better to do than harass innocent girls, or what?“ The guy continued to mock them, earning unpleased growls from both men. They finally let go of your hands, but still took your view of your savior.

„Who are you?“, one of them asked, voice lurring from alcohol.

„Me? Oh, no one special. I’m who they call the Spiderman.“

You instantly felt relief in your body as you raised your eyebrows to see more. Just a second after both men gave weird noises from them as their hands were stuck to the wall with something that looked like spiderwebs. Spiderman motioned for you to walk to him and so you did, stumbling over the mens feet. Then you saw that their mouths were covered with the spiderwebs as well and you had to smile a little.

For a moment you just stood there in shock of what had just happened – or what almost could have happened.

„Hey are you … are you alright?“ Spiderman suddenly turned to you, waving one of his hands in front of your face.

You nodded slowly. „Yes, I guess so. Thank you, really. So much.“ You tried to give him a smile.

„It’s my job to save beautiful girls like you.“, Spiderman said, bowing. You blushed, not sure how to show him how grateful you where.

„Thanks, but seriously … I …“, overwhelmed by your feelings you quickly wrapped your arms around the superhero, mumbling a „Thank you“ into his chest, before quickly turning around and walking home, too shy to turn around again.

But Spiderman stayed there for a while before making sure that you got home safely, following your every move from the rooftops of NYC.

Your mom decided that it would be best for you to say home the next day after your experience. Not that you’d mind, though. A day off seemed to be exactly what you needed after everything that happened the day before at Jenos‘.

In the evening you sat at your desk, trying to concentrate on writing an essay for school. However, the words didn’t want to flow like they usually do, so you were welcoming everything that gave you an excuse for not writing. For example your friends who wouldn’t want to shut up about the fact that you met Spiderman and he literally saved you from sexual assault. Or the knocking on your window that almost made you drop your phone by accident.

You got up, checking what it was. As you opened your window and sat on the window-sill you saw how someone bent down to pick up new stones. „Hello?“

„Y/N!“

„Jeno? What are you doing here?“, you whisper-shouted at him, leaning far out the window.

„I was worried because you weren’t in school today. I also brought Pizza and Ice Cream and math homework.“ Jeno held up a basket, in which the said foods were placed in.

You giggled, hiding your face behind one hand. „I’ll open the front door for you, just wait a minute.“

„No! There’s no need for that.“, he explained, before grinning and then climbing up the house, using pipes and and the balcony as support. And before you could even blink, he stood right in front of you, still smiling.

„How did you do that?“, you said, still in utter shock of what he just did.

„Just like that.“, he chuckled and then shrugged, placing the basket on your desk. „Can we … Can we talk?“ The dark blue hoodie he wore was a big contrast to his pale skin and the healing red wounds on his handsome face.

„Of course Jeno. You even brought food.“, you smiled as you sat down on your bed.

„Maybe not here. Is there a way to get up on the roof of this building?“, he asked, looking around your room.

„Yeah sure, but I won’t climb the facade if that’s alright.“

It was a relatively lukewarm night for the fact that it was october. You both sat on a picnic blanket as you were munching on the pizza and later on the ice cream – you wondered how Jeno got both of it in your favorite type/flavor.

Turns out Jeno actually wanted to talk not only about math but also the happenings of the night before. After every tiny piece of Pizza and every scoop of Ice cream were exterminated, Jeno walked up to the railing and leaned against it, watching how the night slowly lay across the city. After a moment you followed him as he held his hand out for you to take. He pulled your forwards with so much power that you almost fell over. However he managed to prevent that.

„Sorry. Sometimes I have trouble controlling my strength.“, he quitely confessed.

„Oh really?“, you asked a little too high-pitched as your heart was still beating in your throat from all the adrenaline.

He just chuckled and then shook his head, making his fluffy hair float around for a second. You giggled and then everything got silent for a few minutes as you both enjoyed the night view of New York.

„This is beautiful.“, you then murmured, mesmerized by the beauty.

„Indeed. I love New York at dawn so much. I try to watch the sunset as often as I can.“, he agreed, looking over at you with that look in his eyes that had you freeze on the spot.

After that the conversation turned and you kind of talked about everything and nothing at the same time, laughing about stupid jokes and stories and then talking about your wishes and hopes for the future.

„Now tell me … Why were you not in school today? Were you not feeling well?“

You sighed, brushing a hand through your hair. „Well, kinda. My mom thought it would be best for me to stay home for a day after yesterday I almost got into a sexual harassment.“ When Jeno immediately turned his head to you, you shook yours. „No need to worry, a superhero called Spiderman had my back and saved me from anything bad that could have happened.“ A small smile formed on your lips at the memory of the young man in a red and blue suit.

Jeno laughed. „Spiderman? Who’s that? Sounds ridiculous, like a wannabe.“

„No! No no! He’s really cool! And he has those … strings that are like spiderwebs and … Wait, I’ll show you an article on my phone.“ You turned to get it as it was still laying on the blanket, but before you got even close to it, Jeno turned around and you felt something sticking on your back before you got twirled through the air and landed in Jenos arms, who just grinned widely. With widened eyes you looked down just to see one of these strings hanging on your body – Jeno had pulled you towards him with it.

„It … I …“, you stuttered as realization began to hit you. „Oh my god, it’s you! You are Spiderman! You are the guy with the spiderwebs and the suit!“, you laughed, feeling dumb and oblivious that you didn’t realize it before. „And all the wounds and bruises and scratches that -“

Jeno cut you off by laughing himself and then pressing his lips to yours, first a little powerful but then he got gentle and wrapped one of his arms around your waist as the other lovingly caressed your cheek. You stayed like that for a while, both smiling into the kiss at times, melting in each others arms.

Then you heard a rustling and just seconds later the police radio Jeno had went off and announced something about a fugutive prisoner.

„I’m so sorry, Y/N, really. I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry.“, he apologized a million times as he slowly let go of you and put on the mask you’ve seen before. „I really am, Y/N, please believe me.“ His voice was now more muffled but you could still recognize it. You sighed a little desperate before leaning in once more to place a small kiss on his fabric covered cheek. „Good luck with saving the city, Jeno Lee.“

And then he jumped over the railing into the City Lights and all you could see was his silhouette swinging through the busy streets of Queens as the darkness lingered over the city.

appearance || i am asian. i have long black hair that is wavy. my eye color is nut brown and i have a lightly tanned/medium skin. i'm very petite and short - my height being barely 5'. i do really love working out so my body is toned and fit from that.

personality || my mbti is a mix between enfp and esfp ! my friends usually describe me as outgoing, active, kind, supportive, and understanding. i do genuinely think i'm an ambivert; i absolutely adore making new friends and being around people yet at the same time, i love being by myself just as much. i'm pretty independent. i kind of have a 'devil-may-care' attitude and i'm generally pretty easygoing and chill unless i feel that someone is being unfair or just plain horrible. i don't like to take myself too seriously - i'm usually goofy, silly, and playful. it's not unusual for me to randomly start singing or dancing - even in public. i'm very optimistic but not to the point that it becomes toxic. i strive for balance in life (it's the libra in me ahaha).

i'm a bit emotionally closed off - very open about my feelings yet when it comes to emotions, i'm not the best at dealing or expressing them. i tend to use humor as a coping mechanism. i don't really like to be sentimental - it kind of make me feel uncomfortable. with that being said i'm naturally very caring and nurturing - it's instinctive to me. i'm not one to 'baby' my friends or people around me but i'm very attentive to others' feelings and needs and i always try to make sure everyone is comfortable and happy. i'm also kind of the 'therapist' friend and a shoulder to cry on. i do take my responsibilities seriously and i want to do well in whatever i do.

i can be quite frivolous and materialistic.. i'm fun-loving and a bit of an excitement-seeker so i tend to get bored easily and move onto something else quick. i can also come off as a little arrogant sometimes too. i'm kind of a leader too; i'm usually the one who gets chosen to be the leader in group projects but i'm okay with not taking the lead too; i don't mind letting the other person take charge if i believe they are capable.

You said as you opened the fridge where suddenly you were pulled by a pair of strong hands and you collided to a strong chest and the smell of fresh pines and mint filled the kitchen.

It was no other than your tired boyfriend. Now Jacob wasn't really a very PDA person. He wasn't shy in showing his love for you but he prefered showering you with all the love he had in private. Not that you minded that anyway.

"Jake! We were making cupcakes for you guys. Now the chocolate chips are on the floor. "

You scolded him as the boys entered tired flopping on the chairs ready to pass out.

"I missed you."

Jake whispered as he hugged you tighter.

He really loved working out with you. You both would be that athletic couple who were always in shape. Jake would always come up with new ways to workout whether in the woods or outside the porch of his house. He loved the fact that you really looked after your health.

Jacob loved your hair. He loved the way they framed your face. After a tiring day in school or after his patrolling, he would hug you from behind as you studied hard for an upcoming test. He would sometimes secretly use your shampoo so that he would smell like you when he was always from you.

He loves that you were independent and would figure your way out in any situation. Don't get me wrong he was very protective about you but he was proud that his girl wasn't a damsel in distress waiting for her prince everytime to save her. He was always a call away though. If ever you felt low for not being able to solve any problem, he would be ready to help you out with a logical reason and lots of hugs.

Basically your relationship was encouraging each other to give your best.

He was a bit shy but he loved to see you have fun with your friends. Yet, he understood when you wanted to be left alone. Even he liked some time alone. But remember this ball of sunshine will be ready for you with a blanket and your favorite movie at any given time.

He loved your supporting and kind nature. He clearly remembers the time he imprinted on you.

You were shopping with Jake in a store for a sleepover where you saw a little boy crying as he couldn't find his mother. You quickly when to the child, wiped his tears and calmed him down with your soft voice. Taking his small hand in yours you went to the reception to make an announcement. That little boy happily kissed your cheek and ran off in his mother's embrace, the happiness on face, made Jake fall for you even more.

Whenever someone got on your nerves and you were ready to fight, he would let you do your thing unless it was in a limit and where he saw the person crossing your line of patience, he would quickly hug and pull you behind, rubbing soft circles inside your wrist, instantly calming you and he dealt with the person.

He knew all your friends came to you with their problems but he made sure You knew he was there for you when the situation overwhelmed you or when the friends were just draining you emotionally, he would quickly take you away from the situation to the beach where his hugs and the cool breeze calmed you.

"Thank me later with your special cup of coffee for rescuing you from your friends' problem. Look, I really love that your friends trust you with their problems but, all I care is about you."

Jake said hugging you.

"Thanks for saving me , my wolf in shining armor."

Both of you would plan out new activities which always kept you excited and Jake made sure you weren't bored with him.

Your leadership skills really helped guide Jake when he broke from Sam's pack to form his own.

The pack knew you that you could be blunt at times but you always had the right intentions in mid or sometimes things got too much for you.

Jake would love to place his head on your lap as you read your favorite book. He would drag you to dance on your favorite song in the hall as Billy would fondly look at the both of you. He was forever grateful to you for amending the relationship between him and Jake.

In short you guys were the power couple, cheesy love birds and best friend who were constantly bickering on small things but always pushing each other to be the best version of yourself.

What the Pack thinks of you :

Sam and Emily loved the fact that Jake had somewhat calmed down being you with and realizing his inner leadership skills.

Paul would be your best friend and the both of you would always be in trouble but hey, you both had fun. You compassionate nature calmed him a lot for which the pack is always thankful.

I view it as in-between, because there’s always room for improvement. There’s always things to change, and consider, and make better. There’s no such thing as perfect.

Winter! Even if I’ve never experienced snow or winter before, the whole idea of snow is just really fun and endearing to me. One of my bucketlists is to see snow in real life. I think it has to do with the fact that I’ve always been this person to prefer the cold over heat.

what made you enter tumblr?

I’ve always been here! Just not in kpop tumblr. I’ve since deleted my old accounts and shame but i came back to write. It’s always been so stress-relieving to me, to write without any expectations on my back because I’m thinking about grades or a competition. Also Soobin simping is a daily thing and I gotta release it somewhere man

are you happy with where you are in life right now? why or why not?

Yes. I may not be the richest or the prettiest, or smartest or whatever, but I have a good family that loves me. I have good friends that support me and I have TXT and BTS to help me cope when things get overwhelming. I have a job that gives me a little bit of income (it’s not too common for college students here to get jobs like in the US, most of them just focus on acads) and all the means to continue my education amidst the pandemic. So really, I’m grateful for where I am now.

to see the boys in real life but for it to happen only once in your lifetime, or to meet the boys via online fan meeting as many times as you can in your lifetime? why?

Why do you have to do me dirty cj,,,,, prolly online. I may not get to hug them or anything but I get to talk to them still. As may times as I want to. Fun fact about yourself that not everyone would know?: When I was five y.o, I had my parents panicked once. So back then, instead of going home with my little sister, I went to the hospital alone and visited my mother who had just given birth to my little brother without giving any notice to them. My neighbour, who saw my little sister went home without me, worried and called my dad. Panicked, my dad called my mom and told them that I was missing. Lucky, I arrived at my mom’s room just when she answered my dad’s call and they hadn’t called the police yet. Later that night, I got a long lecture from my dad at home.

When did you post your first piece?: If I remember it correctly, it was around early July 2018 on my personal blog -- one or two weeks after I just joined Tumblr. But, before Tumblr, I had posted fics on Wattpad in late 2014

Why did you decide to write for Tumblr?: It’s all because I found a few interesting fics here and then it motives me to write again. I also happened to be looking for a new platform to write since I was bored with Wattpad.

Do you write fluff/angst/crack/general/smut, combo, etc? Why?: I do write fluff and angst fics, but mostly fluff because I’m a sucker for fluff. I’m not good with angst and bad at writing smut

What is your favorite work and why? Your most successful?: My favorite work of mine and the most succesful, excluding the drabbles and timestamps, is Lee Know’s fic titled “What Are You Up To?”. Among the oneshots I had made, it is the only fic that reached more than 200 notes and I’m quite proud of it. It was inspired by a Korean novel I read and a bitter experience of my junior high school love.

What do you hope your readers take away from your work?: I hope my readers can see many sides of a relationship, either it friendship or between lovers. Sometimes, relationship can’t be smooth and have a happy ending like in movies and novels, and it’s not always sad and dark. Also, since the culture that I have grown up with different from people that I meet from this online platform, I want to show how I see a relationship supposed to be.

Who is your favorite person to write about?: In the boyz, it was Sunwoo and Kevin since they are the easiest out of twelve to write for me. In Stray Kids, It is either Bang Chan, Hyunjin, or Lee Know. As for NCT, I think it will be Jaemin and Jeno.

Do you think there’s a difference between writing fanfiction vs. completely original prose?: Yes, I do. To me, writing fanfiction is easier than an original. In fanfiction, I don’t need to make a detailed characterization of the characters since it’s using a real person as the reference. But as for an original, the more detailed the characterization of the characters the more people could get the sketch of the story since this is the character that I made myself without a reference.

What do you think makes a good story?: A good description, and language that easy to understand, followed with a balanced proportion of dialogue and description.

What is your writing process like?: I start by writing the outline first and do some research before starting to write it. I don’t have a specific plan like when should I write or how long it should be, but I tend to write when I’m in the mood. I can’t force myself to finish a fic just in one week (If I do, I will not satisfy with it and the ending will feel rushed). That’s why It usually takes a long time for me to finish a fic or req.

Would you ever repurpose a fic into a completely original story?: Yes. Of course I would. I’m actually in the process of repurposing one of my old fics into a webtoon with my little sister. But we don’t know when we will start.

What tropes do you love, and what tropes can’t you stand?: I love strangers-to-lovers, enemies-to-lovers, secret relationship, and bad boy tropes. To be exact, any trope that show a good development of the characters and has a fantasy in it will be in my to-read list. However, I can’t stand the tropes with angst (especially if I’m not in the mood to read angst), break up, and thriller in it. I will still read it, but not on the top of my to-read list.

What has been one of the biggest factors of your success (of any size)?: Supportive friends and family members.

Do you ever feel there are times when you’re writing for others, rather than yourself?: No, I don’t. I always write for myself and put my satisfaction first before anything.

Do you ever feel like people have misunderstood you or your writing at times?: No, I don’t. It never happens to me.

Do your offline friends/loved ones know you write for Tumblr?: Some of my college friends who are a Kpop stan do know about it, though they don’t know my blog url. Only my little sister does.

Do you think fanfic writers get unfairly judged?: Yeah, most of the times. Especially for those who write X Readers fics.

Do you think art can be a medium for change?: Absolutely. Art has the power to inspire change in the masses.

How much would you say audience feedback/engagement means to you?: Feedback and constructive criticism on my works are so, so valued! It’s important for me to able to improve and motivate myself.

What is one thing you wish you could tell your followers?: Please stay healthy and be happy. Feel free to talk to me whenever you want because my ask always open for you.

Do you have any advice for aspiring writers who might be too scared to put themselves out there?: You will never know your potential until you try it. It’s okay if your first work doesn’t look great. No one is perfect, even me. I used to make so many grammatical errors in my first fic (even in the newest one, though it wasn’t that bad like before). As long as you satisfy with it, you still can improve it in the future.

Are there any times when you regret joining Tumblr?: Nah, There aren’t.

Do you have any mutuals who have been particularly formative/supportive in your Tumblr journey?: Yes, I do. And I’m thankful for that. Because of them, I was able to learn new things and experience many styles of writing by reading theirs.

Hi I don't send asks bcoz my English is not good so bare with me 🤧 but I see lot of Vm shippers thinking Vm's suddenly stopping vlives has something to do with their romantic interest in each other and i was also confused but then I saw this tarot reading i don't believe in these things but it made sense to me u should read it it's on Tumblr search for "bangtan all day" then search "Vmin tarot reading" and it really explains what was going on between vm in 2016/17/18. First of all, I do not believe in tarot reading and the reason is this. These days, there are a lot of fake people who will mislead others for their own benefit. They will tell you what you want to hear as long as it gets them more views and likes on you tube or on their blog. I have read lots of tarot readings about Bts and the funny thing is that not a single one of them drew the same conclusions. They always have different meanings especially when it comes to shipping.

Take for instance now, you will ask one tarot reader if Taekook is real. They will tell you that they are and that they have been in a relationship for years and have been hiding their feelings from the public. At the same time, ask another reader if jikook is real and they will tell you the same thing that they have been in a relationship for a long time also. Same thing with Yoonmin and other pairings. So what is the truth? There isn't because there are a lot of biasness. People just want to believe what they want to believe so these people tell you what you generally know but will twist it in a way that makes it look believable.

It is very few that might be actually legit but those few come from older more experienced tarot readers. People with many years of experience. Yet even with that, the outcome isn't a hundred percent sure because human beings are very unpredictable.

Ultimately, I do not believe in tarot readings especially when it comes to human emotions. I'd rather take a look at a situation and critically analyse it. I rely a lot on others interactions, my senses and my feelings rather than on what someone else says about a group of people they might not even know. They can say a bunch of things and people will just buy it because they desperately want to believe it. There are so many predictions especially when it comes to shipping.

I just read the post which you where talking about and I'm not really surprised because it's something i had already deduced even without reading a tarot card or something. if you are very observative and you take a look at vmin's relationship, trace their history, you will notice how things gradually changed between them. How there was an awkwardness between them from 2016 till 2018. And then you will ask yourself, why is this friendship of theirs so complicated?

We will roughly examine Vmin's history and check the possibility of them developing feelings for each other. Let me remind you, i mentioned possibility meaning it's not a certainty and so, we'll start from the beginning.

We all know how their friendship began. High school best friends who did everything together. Went to school together. They where basically inseparable. But then, they got into a kpop group with six other boys whom they where already acquainted with.

Where things going to remain the same between these boys? Definitely not. Things where going to change. They where going to find themselves drifting apart from each other whether they wanted to or not.

Taehyung has always been a social butterfly. He likes meeting a lot of people and trying out new things. It was due to this that him and Jimin even became close. For a while, they had each other and probably Jimin was so used to getting Taehyung's attention. In 2014, Taehyung posted a pic holding hands with Jimin. The caption on the picture was let's keep going for a long time, i only have you. If you ask me, these are very strong words. It basically means that no matter what happens, your bond with each other will be unbreakable. You'll be friends for ever. The person whom such promise is made to will never forget it. We are sure Jimin would never forget that. They have both used strong words to describe their relationship with each other.

"Jimin gives to me an existence that only a unique best friend can only have. When I'm full of worry, Jimin's answers give me strength. Recently, I was in a song writing trance and talked to Jimin about it for two hours. He's the warmest person I've ever met" Taehyung 2019

But their friendship wasn't perfect. They often fought. Jimin could attest to that. I don't have the clip here but Jimin personally revealed that him and Taehyung had once fought in the park but they eventually made up immediately after because they find it difficult keeping grudges with each other.

Moving forward, 2016 was sort of like the breaking point for BTS. They started to get more recognition with hit songs such as Blood sweat and tears, Fire. Their horizon is broadening. Things where bound to change for all the members of BTS. It was also around 2016 that Taehyung starred in a drama series titled Hwarang. During filming, he developed a very strong friendship with the rest of the cast popularly called Hwarang. Over time, they bonded and Taehyung began to hang out a lot with them.

There is something i want to add here, Jimin no doubt felt jealous during this time not only because Taehyung was hanging out with other people. There was one more important reason why i think he was upset. Now, Jimin had hyped up Taehyung's drama series showing his support for his friend such that there was a time Yoongi even made fun of him because of that only for Taehyung to begin professing love for his Hwarang hyungs.

Jimin and the rest of the members where upset about it but Jimin took it especially hard and Taehyung found it funny at the time. Jimin's anger was the fact that Taehyung always said I love you to the Hwarang members but never to Bts. It probably left him feeling like Taehyung didn't value them as much anymore. Taehyung responded that he felt awkward saying such a thing to Bts because he considers them as his family. Here's an interview vmin had in 2017. If you read the excerpt below, you will find that this indeed caused some of rift in their relationship.

Now, here is where i think something happened. Because Taehyung wanted to try new things didn't mean that he was getting bored of being with Jimin. He had just always been someone with a big heart who loves having a social network around him. Jimin has been well aware of this. He knows what Taehyung is like but then, i guess Jimin started feeling like he had to be a priority in Taehyung's life thus things probably started to happen. Probably, Jimin wanted him to be more affectionate. Taehyung starts getting stuffy due to Jimin's clinginess. They probably argued a lot over this then the push and pull thing started. Taehyung starts getting confused and decides to become independent from Jimin to give himself space from him. Jimin is the type who tries to mantain peace. He might have tried to ignore the tension going on but Taehyung can't do that which causes a strain in their relationship. Why i do believe this might have happened is because these two don't just see each other as only friends. They see each other as being more than that so therefore they take each other very seriously and they would definitely get into lots of arguments when they feel one of them is taking their friendship for granted. You can see this from one of BTS interviews but then again, they where asked this same question some time later. We can see that Vmin's answers are totally different from the previous ones which clearly showed that there was a change in their relationship.

2016 marked a change in vmin where they probably started to realize that their relationship wasn't just the normal one. They had to determine what it was they really wanted. Taehyung was probably more affected by this than Jimin which could be why he was the one who decided to draw a line between them. This had nothing to do with Big hit or the other members. It was just between vmin. Probably, the other members where even unaware of what was going on. I want to add here that Jimin later released his first solo song later that year titled lie and when you listen to the song or listen to the lyrics, you will get the feeling that Jimin was in pain, trying to run away from a never ending cycle of torment brought about by his lies. (I have an analysis of this one). Spring day was released around this time also and i also have a feeling it involved vmin. I think the death of Taehyung's grandmother sort of recovered their bond. Jimin was really a comfort to Taehyung at this time.

2017 seemed a better year for them. Though the group started getting busier and more popular, you would notice a change in the relationship between vmin. They started getting more expressive in their feelings. The hand holding, the I love you handsigns began. The hugs and clinginess. Take a good look at vmin isac in 2017 and you will understand what i mean. Totally different from their past behaviors in previous isac.

They obviously patched things up between themselves. Their relationship improved for a while. but the vlives and the selcas stopped. They also started doing independent things, having their separate group of friends.

There was still a boundary between them. However, it was also at this time that they started to release songs. Taehyung began with his song 4: o'clock which he released with RM and that song was inspired by a feeling Taehyung had when he was waiting for Jimin at a park. Serendipity could be about vmin but it wasn't a song Jimin wrote by himself which is why i'm a bit confused about it but there was some element of his own emotions inside. However, when the music video got released, i was a bit convinced that the song had something to do with the relationship between vmin (i also have my own analysis about this) It was at this time that they took up the representation of sun and Moon as depicted in DNA, serendipity by Jimin, singularity by Taehyung. Let's not forget Taehyung's bon voyage letter to Jimin and how he cried so much signifying that they had both gone through a lot in their friendship. Jimin's response to it clarifies the whole thing, even when he added that no one else not even the members would understand why Taehyung cried except for him or how Jimin himself felt after reading Taehyung's letter. The trip helped them to understand their feelings for each other. Pretty deep if you ask me. Watch the video for your self and you'll understand what I'm getting at.

However, 2018 was where a big challenge set in. Their popularity skyrocketed to the max. All eyes where on the group both locally and internationally. They all started to get more and more separated from each other. Their private lives was intruded upon especially due to their documentary burn the stage: the movie where they had to constantly be recorded. They also started to have separate rooms whenever they lodged into hotels. I guess it was at this time they all started having their separate apartments. They weren't together all the time like before. Much was demanded from this group and this affected Jimin a lot because he talked about the feeling of loneliness he was experiencing at that time and Jimin isn't someone who can stay alone. According to him, he couldn't rely on the other members because they too where going through the same thing he was going through. It was also at this time Jimin started to write his own song promise. It was the first song he had personally written. He revealed that the song was about himself but there where clearly two characters in that song. Jimin and an unknown person.

No one would have thought that the group was considering disbanding at that time. It wasn't until 2019 when receiving their dasaeng that Jin revealed this secret. We can only imagine how bad things where for them to consider disbanding. It was also at this time that Taehyung's grandfather died and it was also here that we see the closeness and bond between Jimin and Taehyung especially during bon voyage Malta where Jimin did everything he could to comfort Taehyung. I think the death of Taehyung's grandfather sort of restored their bond. Jimin was still writing promise around that time. When the song released, he revealed that at first, the song was a dark song but later, he found it difficult to complete it because things started to get better in the group. Are we starting to see the pattern?

On October, Taehyung revealed the Christmas song he had wanted to release with Jimin but which was eventually rejected due to the lyrics. Things had improved so well between them that Taehyung wanted to sing a song with Jimin and when he couldn't do that, he couldn't help unburdening his anguish with Army. He was clearly upset about it.

Jimin released promise as a free song on sound cloud meaning it was a song he sang from the heart. It wasn't for his personal gain. What was strange was that Jimin released promise on December 31st Taehyung's birthday. He released it exactly after midnight and guess who took the pictures for promise cover. Taehyung himself. Are we still seeing the pattern? Exactly one month later, Taehyung released his own solo titled Scenery on January 31st and on listening to the lyrics one will get the indication like he's trying to woo someone. Jimin was particularly hyped about the song that he accidentally spilled about it even before it's release. On August 2019, Taehyung also released his song winter bear. Plenty of indications also point that the song is about Jimin.

Anyway, 2016 till 2018 was a challenging time not only for Vmin but for the rest of the members but it was a challenge that was necessary to create a better bond between Vmin as we can clearly see in 2019 and even from the beginning of this year. The love and affection between vmin is obvious. There are still challenges but i think they have learned over time on how to deal with their differences. Like I've said before, I do not believe that they're dating but they know how they feel about each other. They are aware of that but there are priorities and it's just going to be weird and uncomfortable for everyone involved if they give in to such feelings.

This is just my own speculations concerning the relationship between vmin. I don't need a tarot reading to clarify this much. Though, it's only a speculation, we have to admit that it sort of adds up. This is only a general take on my opinion concerning Vmin and the possibility of a relationship between them so it's not really an analysis. It's okay, ask away! ^^ I stumbled across BTS by accident...which may indicate just how much I live under a cultural rock. I actually don't usually listen to much pop music. I'm a classically trained composer and video game soundtracks and moody indie/rock are more my jam, but last year I heard the YouTube ad that uses part of DNA and it intrigued me. I didn't know which song it was so I ended up listening through quite a bit before finding it...and fell absolutely in love along the way! So I have a soft spot in my heart for DNA. How about you, Sparkle? What got you into BTS?

So first, I hope you're having a too day/night! It's been a very long and busy one for me. I'm so glad to be off. Alsooo, I've been into Kpop for around 10 years now, so I've always enjoyed and I have a soft spot for 2nd gen kpop groups. When BTS started to get popular I didn't like them at first. But I saw Dope after the FBE channel reacted to them and I'm like okay they seem interesting around 2018. Lol. And I went down the hole, and have been stuck since. Lol. They're amazing. -sparkle 💫✨

Thank you, you too! I live in the US (California, to be somewhat specific) and so far there have been two confirmed cases in my county. I'm grateful the university I work at is (finally) taking precautionary measures by banning large gatherings and moving classes temporarily online, and that I can continue working unless there is a full campus closure... Trying not to be too anxious about things that are simply out of my control and hoping that things gradually work out and improve. I'm also grateful for the community here, even if I don't know anyone personally, it is nice to come online and see people being reassuring and encouraging to each other from all across the globe.

Music and BTS are a good distraction when needed... Now that their promotional period is done, do you have a favorite moment?

I truly wish that my job would take some measures, and they have yet. I work with the general public a lot as a secretary. So it's like seriously having me on edge. I know the schools year have temporally closed down and moving things to online since it was spring break here. As well as the public schools closing for a month. Honestly, I'm not sure if I have a favorite moment honestly. Lol. They were all good moments, but I did quite enjoy watching all the ON performances. What about you?

I truly hope your employer catches on soon and makes accommodations so that you can practice some social distancing and have a safe work environment. We were just informed today that we have to work from home two days next week, on rotation, to keep our department staffed but also reduce the number of people on the floor -- for next week only so far, but I won’t be surprised if it continues past that. I can’t fulfill all of my responsibilities from home, so I’m grateful that they are allowing us to complete online trainings and such in the meantime. I am also so glad it’s Friday. What a week it’s been.

Ahh, I love ON! As a former member of drumline and marching band, I have such a fondness for the drum corps elements they incorporated into the music and background choreography. I was excited for the Official MV version too, so beautiful and thought-provoking! I also looove Black Swan (JIMIN’S DANCING EEK). I haven’t been as excited about something in a long time as when I stayed up late to catch their first performance on James Corden. So while I’ve enjoyed all of the comeback (especially as it’s my first!), that was particularly memorable for me. The surprise MV drop was also lovely 🦢🖤

I know! I let time get away from me honestly! I hadn't been meaning too. I miss talking to you! I love all kind of games. I'm not particularly picky, but i do like that Game of LIfe. I've had just about ever version they've made. We played this one called Blockbuster in reference to movies and it was fun because if you know a lot of movies it's somewhat easy but you have to act out some of hte titles. Lol. So you like tabletop games? Sounds fun! I gravitate toward video games more personally, but haven’t had too much time lately to play. There are definitely fun ones to try if you ever get a Switch! I love tabletop games, and I play a lot of video games too. So don't get me wrong, I am huge into video games, but I don't play them as often. my boyfriend uses his PS4 all the time. I'm still trying to get through SpiderMan, but that's also because I don't wanna end it. I'm almost finished though. And yes! It's so hard to choose just one honestly, so I get your dilemma. Yay!! Sounds like we might have that in common. I have a huge appreciation for video games (and video game soundtracks is one of my favorite ‘genres’ of music, recognizing that they’re incredibly diverse of course), but I spend more time watching videos of other people playing them than playing them myself haha. We have a PS4 too. SpiderMan looked fun but I never tried it! I loved watching my partner play FFXV and Death Stranding. Trying to remember what I’ve actually finished on PS4, it’s been awhile lol... Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture and Rime were beautiful. I started Last Guardian but didn’t get very far before life got too busy. :( Hope I can pick it up again some day! Oo I forgot I watched some of Horizon Zero Dawn too! Very impressive game. It looks like a lot of fun and I might try to play it myself in the future.. but like you said, it’s easy to get distracted. Life just likes to get in the way huh. Have you seen/heard of Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice? Intennnnse. I’m an absolute coward when it comes to horror games (or movies) and somehow my partner tricked me into playing one of the scariest parts because he got too scared HAH. That being said, as much as I love really emotionally intense games, I love soft gentle ones too… especially chill co-ops! (I’m thinking of the one we played most recently, Pode… that was on Switch though.)

Yayy Yoongi! I really do love all of BTS, and while the maknae line ran off with my heart, I have a big soft spot for Yoongi. I was never really drawn to rap/hip-hop except maybe Linkin Park like in middle school am I dating myself until I met Yoongi and just… wow. ._. He’s so expressive in his delivery, his lyrics are heart-breakingly raw and honest, and he has extraordinary range between his gentlest material and the lines that come at you with a knife. Also I’m so proud of him for continuing to work as a producer and refine those skills on top of his life as an idol. What are your favorite things about Yoongi? If you can even choose haha 💗

That game was really fun honestly. I still haven't finished. And sameeee! I am not into the horror games. The movies I can do, but the games I'm just too scared to really play them. Linkin Park is one of my favorite groups. I love them, and miss Chester so much. Also it sounds like we're maybe around the same age because that's when I got into them maybe? Dying over your Resident Evil reaction because... SAME lol. However. I have enjoyed watching some playthroughs of 7 and the remake of 2, which is the closest I will ever come to watching a horror movie again. xD I have really fond memories of playing Spyro at my cousin’s house as a kid, but haven’t tried the remake yet! It looks like fun too. There are too many good games to choose from, not nearly enough time to play lol.

If I may tell a story, my discovery of BTS went like this: heard a music clip in a YouTube ad of all places (normally skip them lol but I got it a couple times at work and thought hmm this is catchy). Then had to dive into some compilation videos to figure out which heckin song it was (turned out to be DNA). But along the way I found more songs I liked. And then I fell HARD for the Mic Drop MV (again, a little strange for me, because it’s pretty hip-hoppy). Jungkook makes this super intense expression at one moment that made me go oh. hello. So then I slowly learned who the different members were, and since this was me mostly streaming YT in the background at work haha, I had to keep switching tabs to check who was singing. I loved Jungkook’s singing but then also realized that I loved Jimin’s sweet voice too (yes I admit when I was first getting to know them, I could not always tell them apart). And THEN mister baritone Tae with his unique falsetto and delicious low range (I really wish they featured his chest voice more but OH WELL I digress) snagged my attention and ANYWAY long story short that’s how I fell in love with BTS and also the entire maknae line I guess. :’)

Yes, somehow my sister convinced me to get it like she was going to play the game too, and she did not. I ended up exchanging the game because I'm like this is a waste of money. haha. I usually always skipped them too, so I totally understand. Everyone I knew liked but I had stopped listening to kpop for a while after the members of Big Bang went into enlistment (sad sad times). I first heard Dope. The FBE Youtube channel reacted to them, and I'm like OKAY GUYS. 1/3 -sparkle 💫✨

When Jungkook hits that high note I was like COME THROUGH VOCALS. So then naturally I had to go and look a few more videos. This was during around the time they had appeared on the AMAs the first time. And then I listened to I Need U and Save Me (this is one of my favorites). And I was hooked. I went and watched their Ellen interviews, and they're so sweet. I ended up binge watching their variety show and Bon Voyage and I was hooked then. -sparkle 💫✨ 2/3

Run BTS was when I realized that Yoongi was my bias. Because I'll admit that I did not like him at first, but I said that already. And then I just realized how sweet and funny he actually his. And I think he's just shy at times. At least in the beginning, but he's so handsome and his stage presence is like a 360 from him being off stage. If that makes sense. The high notes in Dope are pretty ridiculous because they’re at the start of the phrase so they get little to no preparation lol. Their vocal abilities are truly impressive... and then they do it all while dancing :’)

I agree that Yoongi’s stage presence is strikingly different from his real self! Or the self we get to see in their behind-the-scenes content lol. Possibly like a lot of people, I thought he was super intimidating and tough until I saw more of him offstage... and then went awww he’s a big softie who just doesn’t pull his punches when he’s rapping and producing.

Do you have any favorite Run BTS episodes? So far I’ve only watched a handful of the recent ones, but all the random gifs and clips of older content warms my heart or makes me laugh. I’d like to eventually watch them all from the beginning... some day lol. (see all previous mentions of being too busy to do anything fun outside of work haha)

They are ridiculous. I love when they hit high notes in songs. All the boys have such a beautiful range, and I love hearing them. Especially when they do their solo songs. Jimin's solos are normally my favorite because his voice is the type I tend to lean towards a lot His stage presence is so different! Just like Jhope's. It's always so different, but it's them all in a nutshell, if that makes sense. Lol. I was in Chorus for a while, and I liked it begin in a group. -sparkle 💫✨1/2

The vocal line is so wonderful, but I’ve been increasingly impressed with the rap line’s singing too. I have always liked the beginning of Spring Day and I confess it took me an embarrassingly long time to wonder which one of them was singing, and I was surprised to learn that it’s Namjoon. Also his low line in Louder Than Bombs is wonderful... I don’t even care if it’s probably autotuned a little lolol. And I only recently found out about the song Sea, but Tae’s chest-range melody at the very end.. UGHGHGGH it’s too. good. (DEAR BIGHIT COMPOSERS, MORE BARI PLS.)

I had to sing in choir in grad school and ended up enjoying it way more than I thought I would. (I’m a composer/pianist and I needed ensemble credit.) I’ve always been really self conscious about my voice, and now... I would love to take vocal lessons some day. While I know that no two people will play an instrument exactly the same, it’s kind of magical that you don’t know what the true sound or full potential of your own singing voice will be until you train it. Do you play any instruments? :)

SPRING DAY!! 🌸🌸🌸 One of my all-time favorites. I honestly might not have a very good awareness of what is underrated and what isn’t, especially among older songs, but... I love Spring Day, The Truth Untold, Jamais Vu, and most recently Sea... lol hm I’m sensing a trend of bittersweet/melancholy songs. But also House of Cards (it’s just so delightfully WEIRD and dark and different??). On the other end of the spectrum (although not sure if it’s underrated?), Silver Spoon/Baepsae. What a jam. Love to tune out the world with that one at work on one of my walk breaks if I had a frustrating day. And maybe it’s too early to tell from MOTS 7, but I get the impression that I might love Louder Than Bombs way more than the average army. And that’s okay :)

We Are Bulletproof pt. 2 took awhile to grow on me but I was happy when it did. I can be a little odd about the order in which I listen to songs, and usually need to listen in album order, but for some reason I really like that one after No More Dream. Also, though it’s hardly underrated, I now know what all the fuss is about Cypher pt. 3. I’ve been gradually purchasing their older albums (kinda out of order) and finally got to Dark & Wild about a month ago haha. I’m listening to all these mad songs now. Been in a weird sad mood for a lot of today tbh and... mad bts is helping a little haha. So is chatting with you!

The Truth Untold is one of my favorites, and I normally don't like ballads a lot. It takes me a while to get into them, but this one just caught my eye. I'm learning Korean, and it's one of the ones that I can sing along too while reading the lyrics! I am super proud of that accomplishment. Oo that’s awesome that you’re learning Korean! Are you self-studying? How long have you been studying? I’ve been studying Japanese for several years (very slowly lol). Then a few months ago, thanks to BTS, I was suddenly really interested in learning Korean too. I worked on memorizing hangul for a week and then had a “lol what am I doing” moment when I realized I didn’t know nearly enough Japanese yet to realistically tackle two challenging languages at the same time. So Korean is on hold for now, but I really wish I could just… magically be fluent haha. It would be amazing to understand their lyrics or interviews/conversations on the spot without relying on translations. And English is stupidly difficult, so as much as I appreciate how much effort they’ve put into learning too… as an international fan, I wish I could return that effort too and learn their language so that they don’t feel like they need to learn English.

Love Yourself: Answer was my first album and I purchased that one specifically because it was a compilation and contained most of the individual songs I already knew I liked from YouTube haha. Then I expanded from there. To be honest, if I had found BTS when they were just getting started, or anytime before HYYH, I probably wouldn’t have connected with their music, sound-wise or thematically. But… they were exactly what I needed when I did finally find them. And now I have immense appreciation for their beginnings and how far they’ve come, even loving some older songs/styles that I never expected to. As I mentioned, I don’t usually listen to pop or rap/hip-hop… like ever haha. But something about them just reached into my heart and I’ll be forever grateful to them.

Yes! I am self learning. I have been doing it on and off for like two years, but the last part of last year I've been doing it most often. However with everything that's going on, it's kind of slowed down and I've just been focusing on what's going on in the world right now. I feel the same. I think if I would have found them before, I don't think I would have liked them as much as I do now. I think that’s awesome that you’re working on learning the language on your own! And I understand the challenges of keeping it up independently, especially in such strange and challenging times... I feel guilty that I stopped my daily kanji studying pretty much as soon as I started working from home. It was initially because I used my commute time to study (I’m in a vanpool) and... definitely lost some motivation once everything started changing. I know I shouldn’t be too hard on myself though for taking a break, and I hope you are not either. I’m hoping to get back into soon and reform some study time habits :)

Yeah it sounds like you’ve been listening to Kpop for a long time! ^^ Aside from my fairly recent BTS obsession, I gravitate toward moodier music in general haha. Evanescence was my instant favorite way back in middle school and... tbh I still listen to their albums sometimes! I tended to like anything indie-ish with piano or rock + orchestra. I loved this European band Within Temptation, their music is like a blend of rock and symphonic orchestra. Nowadays, I love video game music and that’s probably what I listen to the most... Nobuo Uematsu (Final Fantasyyy), who is probably one of my biggest inspirations for pursuing composition, Austin Wintory (Journey, Abzu, etc), and more recently Jessica Curry (everything the Chinese Room studio made lol). The past few days I’ve been streaming the songs from Death Stranding. I admit I don’t tend to have a lot of variety... I’m kind of picky and when I find something I love, I will listen to that obsessively over and over for months on end. Like BTS. xD No regrets haha! But I know I should broaden my horizons too...

I'm trying not to be so hard on myself, but I know I'll get back into it soon as I set a schedule for myself. Evanescence is amazing, that's all I got to say. “God this is just what I needed,” Race smiled serenely as he settled onto his towel, handing Spot one of the pina coladas he’d gotten from the small stand by their resort.

A long year spent working extra hours and saving up money had lead the two boys to Oahu, Hawaii for their Spring Break. Admittedly, it’d still put a significant dent in their wallets, which wasn’t entirely ideal considering they were graduating college in a few months and probably couldn’t afford to go bankrupt. But, things had been stressful recently and this was self care.

“Me fucking too, man,” Spot agreed, sitting up and pushing his sunglasses up his nose as he accepted the drink from Race, “and this weather is fucking sexy.”

Race choked on his pina colada, spluttering for a moment before looking at Spot, “Did you just call the fucking weather sexy?”

Spot shrugged, “You got another word for it? It’s sunny and warm with that perfect cool breeze. Sexy.”

Race stared at him for a moment before facing the ocean again, shaking his head, “You’re a fucking idiot.”

Spot laughed, shifting around on his own towel to look at the ocean. It truly was beautiful. The ocean was almost impossibly turquoise and the clear water shimmered softly in the sunlight. Palm trees surrounded them on all sides, giving the area a pleasantly enclosed feeling. Like they’d found their own little universe, completely separate from everything else.

Race hummed as he became acutely aware of the sun beating down onto his shoulders and he reached around to fish a bottle of sunscreen out of his bag. He squirted a fair amount onto his hands and began lathering it onto his skin.

“Lil’ bitch,” Spot coughed, clearing his throat.

Race froze in his actions and shot an incredulous glare at Spot, “You think you’re tougher than the sun? The fucking sun?”

Spot pursed his lips, looking like he wanted to make a comeback, but falling short of an intelligent sounding one.

Race sat up straighter and continued to rub the sunscreen into his shoulders, “That’s what I thought.”

The lapsed into silence, drinking in the view and allowing their stresses to slowly drain from their minds. At one point, Spot pulled out a book and Race found himself dozing. They stayed like that for what could have been hours until Spot shut his book pointedly, using it to prod Race awake.

Race opened his eyes slowly, raising his eyebrows, “Can I help you?”

Spot stood up, shaking out his towel and successfully spraying Race with sand, “I’m bored, let’s explore.”

Race huffed indignantly, wiping the sand out of his eyes before standing as well. He rolled up his own towel and shoved it into his beach bag. He hastily slipped on his sandals before shouldering his bag and jogging to catch up with Spot, who’d already set out towards the main street of the resort.

They made it all the way to the path that led them away from the beach when a war cry sounded above them. Alarmed, they froze, heads jerking upwards in search of the source of the cry. Before Race had a chance to see anything, a large object fell out of the palm tree directly above them, nailing Spot in the head.

Spot let out a grunt, careening forwards onto his knees as his hands flew to his head.

“Spottie!” Race exclaimed, rushing forward to kneel next to him, hands hovering over his shoulders.

“Son of a bitch,” Spot bit out, voice gravelly. He lifted his head slowly, unfocused eyes fixating on the ground in front of him.

“What the fuck,” Race muttered, picking up the object that had hit Spot. It was a fucking coconut.

He looked up again, startling as he made eye contact with a guy. He had red hair and was wearing a grass skirt over a pair of floral swim shorts. He wasn’t wearing a shirt, but a large lei was secured around his neck, swaying slightly in the breeze. If Race squinted, he could see a small twig crown resting on his head. As weird as he appeared, there was an unconventional attractiveness to him.

“What the fuck,” Race repeated. He raised his voice slightly, “Hey! Who the fuck are you and why did you throw a coconut at my friend?”

The guy smiled and flipped down from the tree, landing gracefully in front of Race, “The name’s Albert, I’m the coconut engineer here.”

Race blinked, completely bewildered, gaze landing on the pair of weed vans that Albert was wearing, “You’re...you...what!?”

Albert hopped down into a sit, crossing his legs under him and propping his chin on his hand, “Coconut engineer.”

“Yeah but what the fuck is that and why did it include concussing me,” Spot snapped, still sounding pained.

“I make sure coconuts don’t fall out of trees and injure tourists,” Albert said matter-of-factly, “But you had a bad aura, so I threw a coconut at you.”

“I had a- wait what?” Spot looked vaguely like he wanted to strangle Albert and Race wasn’t convinced that he wouldn’t if he were feeling up to it.

“Bad aura,” Albert said, picking up the coconut that he’d thrown at Spot and breaking it open with his bare hands. He took a long sip of the water inside before continuing, “Looked kinda bruting and I saw you shake sand on Hottie McHottiekins from the spot in my tree. You deserved it.”

Race choked, “What’d you just call me?”

Albert looked at him innocently, “Hottie McHottiekins.”

Race blushed and Spot groaned, “Oh, no no no, please tell me you’re not considering going out with Mr. Coconuts over here.”

Race ignored him and held out a hand, “The name’s Antonio, but Race is what I go by.”

Albert shook his hand, his grip firm and confident, “Nice to meetcha, Race. Wanna go get sushi or something later?”

“Sure thing,” Race said, taking out his phone and handing it to Albert, who put his phone number in the contacts, “text me.”

Spot blinked open his eyes, the bright morning sunlight bleeding in through the blinds. His head still ached from the coconut fiasco of the previous day, but after icing it for a bit and taking some ibuprofen, it was feeling significantly better.

He rolled over and dragged himself out of bed, stumbling down the hallway a few paces to Race’s room. He knocked once before opening the door.

“Morning, I was thinking we could-” He cut himself off, eyes narrowing when he realized that Race wasn’t in his room. In fact, Race’s bed didn’t look slept in at all.

He pulled out his phone, hurriedly pulling up Race’s contact. Had Race even made it home from his date with Albert last night?

He was about to phone Race when the door to their small beach house opened. Spot whirled around to find Race staring at him, wide eyed with a hand still on the doorknob. He wasn’t wearing a shirt and a few small hickeys littered his chest. His hair was sticking up on top and we was wearing a pair of pajama pants that Spot was certain he didn’t own.

Neither of them spoke for a moment, the air thick with anticipation. Then Spot lowered his phone from his ear, which he belatedly realized he was still holding up.

“Oh my god,” he breathed, “You fucked the crazy coconut guy.”

Race’s face turned bright red.

lmao welp i told myself i’d finish some greaser au shit and chap 10 of fugitives but this happened instead LOL at least im finally on break and can grind some shit out,,, maybe titanium too o.O

Liking something can be such a huge motivation. And such a big motivating factor to just learn and do things. Like -

Because I like dolls, I:

Figured out, at the age of 15, how to buy things online without a bank account or credit or debit card. (The answer is, buy through group orders, or someone else doing the order, and request to pay in cash.) But also, when I did get a bank account (and still no card), I figured out how to get paypal (properly, not the fake your age method), and how to buy things and get them shipped to me without my parents knowing (send it to a friend)

Figured out how to do faceups with online forum tutorials. Back then, photo and text explanations were the norm, video tutorials weren’t really a thing. But anyway, a totally new skill picked up. It’s helpful to have drawn alot before this, but still, pastel and painting were new grounds for me.

Figured out what a respirator is, why it matters, and how to use it properly

Figured out a way to manage my expenses (done on excel) even though back then it was just doll related

Figured out how to sew because I didn’t have the money to buy them clothes. Figured out how to make patterns even though I’m still not really sure how to do it. Also learnt how to use the sewing machine from my mum though I’m not that good at it.

Figured out how to sand and mod a doll. Sanding from rough to smooth grit, what to use, how to sand with water so I don’t get so much dust

Figured out how to remove faceups using isopropyl alcohol and acetone, and where to find such stuff in Singapore

Learnt how to take photos, decided to learn more using a DSLR

Figured out how to use photoshop to edit photos and the effects in it way before I did started doing Architecture

Started making videos on youtube because I wanted more doll videos

Figured out how to cut wigs, furwigs and fibre wigs alike, to make the hairstyles I wanted my OCs to have

Figured out how to make costume jewelry for dolls, with simple tools bought off the shelf

Because I like Kpop (Infinite, Monsta X, Block B, Exo...), I:

Figured out how to make gifs in one day using online tutorials (already had photoshop skills then, which helped)

Started writing fanfic and now I have 4 years of fanfic written (a total 82 works, 453491 words published online, and there’s more in my drafts)

Through fanfic, learnt how to make stories that are appealing, did alot of research on tropes, different genres of story, different ways of story telling (kishotenketsu aka plot without conflict, which is different from the usual western way of plot with a distinct conflict etc). I figured out that I like slice of life alot for it’s mundane-ness, but also vampire fics alot. And that any sort of relationship with imbalances in power dynamics is not my jam. What I like and what I like to read have similarities but don’t overlap exactly. I also learn what polyamorous relationships are and generally a lot of lgbtq+ relationship dynamics and things that I don’t really get in traditional media

Made a ficfest with two online (Singaporean) fans for Infinite to encourage people to write more fics. Sure, we weren’t very successful but we tried really hard and we did this for almost a year, got a few authors to write a few stories, and we ourselves made over 50 moodboards for inspiration

Started looking at exercise as something positive, like, if the people I like enjoy exercising so much, and talk about its benefits, maybe there’s something in it for me. The biggest inspiration was Wonho who went from scrawny kid to buff dude but like, still remained really kind-hearted and soft and just, this whole combination wasn’t something I really learned to value from the way I was brought up, but it was an attitude I really admire regardless. And I learnt that I have the capacity to be moved by things like this, and to also adjust the biases or inherent assumptions I have

Did alot of research on BDSM and kinks and a lot of non-traditional things that I think I was always interested to know about and felt okay about actually reading up and knowing and writing and reading and discussing such things in a community of writers who did similar stuff. And realised there’s so much more in the dynamics behind these kinks, why people have them, how people can engage in them safely, what are safe practices and good practices, and just, having that knowledge also brings with it a better awareness of how similar power dynamics affect normal (unkinky) relationships

In a similar train of thought, to reserve judgement when I see people write or know or whatever certain things, because you can know something, write it, but not necessarily be agreeble to it (that’s why warning tags agree. It conveys self-awareness without telling the writer, no, you can’t write about this touchy taboo topic)

Learnt how to think horizontally when writing fics

Learnt how to get a beta to read my fics, or even why test readers (and cheerleaders) are important in a project like writing a fic. It’s my name on that fic but it’s with the help of alot of people sometimes, and that’s also why community matters

Thought about fandom, private spaces in online spheres and also constructive critique and non-constructive criticism and feedback on creative work

Read up on copyright laws, both for image use for moodboards, fanart and fanfic rights and ownership and whether one can make money off of it

Because I liked piercings, I:

Did research on how to get them safely, so so much research. From videos, from articles. Trying to figure out what’s credible, what’s not

Got piercings, also realised how biased I can be when someone has piercings. It’s a positive bias and completely groundless, like I see someone with piercings, it’s like +2 impression points or something, like I don’t know why. But it’s definitely something I should be aware of because of how seemingly groundless it is

Because I like unnaturally coloured hair, I:

Learnt how to bleach my hair with youtube tutorials and articles and learnt the dangers of doing so before I did it

Learnt how to dye my hair myself, how to transition between shades of cool and warm colours

Experimented and figured out the rest by actually dyeing my hair, enlisting the help of dorm mates

Learnt that purple is a colour that never shows up on my hair, maybe unless I bleach my hair to almost white

Learnt that I am/behave like a slightly different person with a different hair colour, and that such things affect not just my mood but how I perceive myself. And unnatural hair colours make me feel fun, but more importantly, that I can have them means I have time for myself (to dye my hair and to maintain it), and that kind of mindset is something I miss right now with my natural hair colour

Learnt that I am more open to change and okay with people talking about my hair than I thought, and that it’s fun to keep changing, but also maybe necessary for my psyche, to avoid feeling stagnant and boring

Because I like Peppertones, I:

Set up a tumblr and a blog for them in a day (helped that I’ve had a blogspot and tumblr account for ages before for other things)

Figured out a way to translate Korean songs to English even though my Korean is really really really basic. Like I can read Hangul, I can understand some words, but I can’t really write properly sentences by myself. But despite this, I wanted to know what their song lyrics are so much that I figured that I can use my ability to check a dictionary, my ability to read Chinese (so many things have Chinese translations compared to English), my cross referencing skills, and my Sec 2 literature inference skills to translate their songs despite my language incompetency. And so far I’ve modified 2.5 songs (i.e. added onto existing English translations to make it more accurate) and properly translated 1.5 songs with Chinese lyrics for reference. And there’s more songs in my drafts.

Figured out how to navigate Naver with mostly ctrl-c and ctrl-v of keywords

Compiled playlists of their live performances by individual songs, and created masterlists of their appearances and performances

Looked into Search Engine Optimisation to see how my peppertones blog can be more searchable for people like me who wanted translations of their songs, realising that blogspot is way more indexable than tumblr and finally understanding after so many years why my blogspot doll blog would show up on google image searches while my tumblr never really did

What I’m saying is, like things. Love things. Let your heart do what it wants. And then let these serve as your spark, your driver, and your direction (if for a little while). Let them inspire you, let them bring you to action, and let them remind you a little of why life is worth living. So much of this is not necessarily apparent at first glance because a lot of times, what we like may seem so trivial and trite and pointless, but the energy it offers can be so much more. I’ve learnt and picked up so many things along the way because I liked something so much that I HAD to learn something to do what I wanted to, and I cobbled my way to learning it with whatever available skills I have, and to research the heck out of whatever I didn’t know. And that is such a valuable lesson.

I got a bit caught up in the details while listing some of the things above, but I just wanted to write down what I could before I forget. Obviously if we want to assess, some of these skills are probably more valuable than others. But the point is, all these are things and skills and abilities and learning experiences that can be picked up, and built upon, and they don’t exist in isolation. And maybe the tiny pieces don’t make particularly good sense at this moment, nor do they seem particularly useful, but like leaves falling, over time they’ll make a pile, and if you like something enough, that’s going to be a big pile of leaves, and it’s up to you what you want to do with that.

Me? I’m going to make a bed to lie on with that pile of leaves with my mediocre sewing skills and listen to all the songs I like.

1. Name 3 things in nature you find the most beautiful? The sky, stars and animals.

2. What's the funniest way you've been injured? I'm clumsy. I could fill an entire post with stupid and funny ways I've gotten hurt! The most recent though, was probably trying to walk across a clear living room floor with a dead leg. I tripped over literally nothing and managed to sprain pretty much everything possible in my ankle! I spent 12 weeks in a walking cast...

3. If you could ask your pet 3 questions, what would they be? Can you please exist? 😂 I don't have a pet, sadly. I would LOVE a cat though.

4. What are your pet peeves? Hmm, tough one. Maybe when people interrupt me for no reason when I'm watching or listening to something. Especially if I have headphones in. Can't you see I'm busy??? I'm 100% the kind of person that aggressively pauses my show until they're done.

5. What's the first thing you ate today? Toast! With marmite on.

6. What makes you laugh? A lot. It's not hard. But puns and bad jokes are especially a huge weakness of mine.

7. Do you have a hidden talent? If so, what? If I do, it must be really well hidden...

8. What's your zodiac sign? Does it fit your personality? I'll be honest, I have no idea about zodiac stuff. It's not something that interests me So I'm afraid I can't answer.

9. What is your favourite holiday? Any holiday that means I can stay home and not interact.... 😂

10. If you have one, who is your celebrity crush? Yoo Kihyun, the main vocalist from the Kpop group Monsta x. I think Jeremy Shada might be getting there too...

11. If you could be a genius at something, what would it be? Anything? Please? Okay seriously though, I'd have to say music. I love music, but I just don't have the skill for it myself.

1. What is your favourite food? My favourite food changes a lot. I guess the only consistent thing is fresh seasonal fruit?

2. place you've always wanted to go? A tour of Asia would be cool. Or France.

3. Favourite show? J-just one??! Voltron Legendary defender has to be my all time favourite, at the moment at least. But I also love shows like Scorpion, marvel's Gifted, miraculous ladybug, full metal alchemist and Teen titans.

4. Single or nah? Single!

5. Video game you last played? Monster Hunter.

6. Can you do a weird talent? Not that I can think of. What would even class as weird?

7. Tennis shoes or sneakers? Uh oh. I uh... what's the difference??

8. Soda or pop? As in fizzy drinks? I don't tend to drink any.

9. Favourite drink? Coffee! I live off the stuff!

10. What is your favourite hobby? Gaming. As much as I love drawing, it does sometimes get stressful, especially if it isn't working out how I want it too. Gaming is my stress relief and always fun~

11. Is there a store you go to frequently? I'm very introverted, and shops are sooooo stressful for me. I do all shopping online if I can! But I make exceptions for certain comic book, game and merch shops.

1. Movies that had a great impact on you as a child - you know the ones you vividly remember watching as a kid? There are so many! Eldorado, Sinbad, Osmosis Jones and all the pokémon films really come to mind though.

2. What is your occupation? Or what do you want to do as a career? Tell me about it! My actual job is pretty boring, so I'll talk about my dream job instead! I've always wanted to be in game design. I love designing characters, and I would LOVE to be on a team that creates concept art for games.

3. Spinning rides or up and down rides? I get motion sickness really easily... But having said that, I love spinning rides for as long as I can enjoy them without feeling ill.

4. What is the most neat place you've ever visited? Would you live there? I haven't really travelled much, even within my own country. But I've been to Newcastle a few times to visit family, and I do love it there. I don't think I'd live there though, I'm a country girl and I think the city would overwhelm me too much after the novelty wore off.

5. How did you find your current fandom? My uncle watched Voltron before I did, when it first came out. We're really close and have similar tastes so when he got excited about it, I was definetly interested! I kept putting it off though, and it wasn't until I kept seeing it on Tumblr through miraculous blogs I follow that I eventually watched it, only a month or two after my uncle did.

6. What's the hottest wing sauce you've ever eaten? I don't really know, sorry! But I do like spicy food.

7. What's the fic/art you've always wanted to write/draw but haven't gotten to for any reason. Oc? Original story? Tell me all about it! Oooh boy. I am ALWAYS coming up with story ideas. I have an entire universe of stories that I've wanted to write and draw since I was 13! I've got entire timelines and realities planned out, and even every single side character has concept art!

My favourite story of mine at the moment is probably Thieves Heart. It's so much fun to draw! And I love coming up with new ideas for it. I even love the designs I have for my main characters, Kyrad and Chiel, which is a rarity.

Kyrad is a thief because it's his family business.

Chiel is a thief because she loves the thrill of it all.

They keep crossing paths, and while Chiel adores the competition and might have a growing crush on her newfound rival, Kyrad isn't so keen. He'd much rather steal in peace.

He does have his eye on a cute but sassy civilian though, and has no idea she's actually the very same thief stealing all his hauls!

There's so much more I could say, amd although I really want to enthuse about all of my stories, its kind of nerve wracking and I also know that once I start, you literally can't shut me up. I get carried away easily...

I do keep toying with the idea of starting a webtoon, but my own lack of confidence holds me back I think.

8. Comfort food. if there is one snack/meal that is your go to- what is it? Maybe it's a drink? Any kind of hot food including rice, noodles or soup works for me. It could be my mum's chicken soup, it could be instant ramen. It depends a lot on my mood.

9. One person you really look up to as a role model. It's... really hard choosing just one person. I can't choose only one from my family, so I'll have to go for a friend of mine instead. She's a good 10 years older then me, but age doesn't matter. She's such a dear friend and I don't know what I'd do without her! She's helped me through so much. She has a lot of the same issues I have, and seeing how strong and amazing she is really inspires me. She's helped me with my anxiety in such a huge way, and if I could be a fraction of the person she is I'd be so happy. I want to help people like she's helped me through my problems. ❤

10. Favourite colour combination? Maybe pastel blue and silver?

11. What is your favourite outfit? That one clothing combination that makes you feel hip or comfortable or both. Just jeans and my Star Labs hoodie. My hoodie especially is my favourite piece of clothing and is so comfortable, it's baggy, it's soft and warm. I miss it every time it goes in the wash!
