Q!Missa just needs to be outright told that he is loved.
They are platonic husbands, yes, but q!Philza does love him, just like he loves all his massive extended found family.
But I think unless q!Philza says it directly to his face, that he does care for him, that he does not need to leave, that he is welcome and expected in Phil's home - THEIR HOME - Missa is just going to keep believing he is only tolerated at best, a burden at worst.

Phil makes his way outside, sitting himself down on the edge of the wall. His talons hang off freely, the overcloak he always wore thrown lamely off to the side and his wings outstretched but limply hanging around him. Feathers scraping the concrete as he plucks and threads his fingers through them. It doesn't hurt. Not really. But it does make his wings look ugly, unfortunately.
He breathes out, guilt clogging up. Over Chayanne. Of course, Chayanne's thought pattern branches Phil's mind out to Tallulah. Then, the guilt from leaving without talking to Missa.
But he can't. If he faced the other, he was almost positive the building tears might pour in geysers. Phil managed to push it down now, aside from the few tears he shed making his way out, pressing the emotion down until the tears dried into nothing but an intense, pounding pressure.
His wings twitch. More than anything, he wishes he could push off and fly around. Just for a little while. Just until everything hurt a little less.
But when his feet brace the wall and he shoves himself off, wind snapping at clothes and messy, knotted hair alike, he doesn't go up. No matter how hard his wings beat, he can't.
So he plummets, then he glides. It's all he can do, working his wings our of muscle memory to ensure the tears don't return. While he turns those words over in his mind.
God. He wishes he could say coming to this island was a mistake, but he can't stomach the idea of not ever meeting that kid. His son.
His.... son....
--
The days pass. Phil smiles when Missa asks where he went, and he pulls the coat tighter over himself. His sword is back into its spot, no longer covered in the thick monster blood, and the night as passed again without an hour of sleep.
All he can do is apologize softly, and all is well. They're both ignoring their own fight. Phil, for the sake of Chayanne, ignores theirs as well.
All is well.
Tallulah isn't talking much, lately, either. She avoids looking at Chayanne, only coming out of her newfound shell when it's only Phil in the room. She shows him her new music, her art, the (admittedly confusing) stories she's been writing. He just smiles and ruffles her hair, braiding it in the mornings and before bed. In return, she spends her time pretending she can't see the bags under his eyes.
All is well.
Missa doesn't seem to notice too much is wrong as Phil tentatively returning to hovering over Chayanne. He doesn't want the kid leaving or doing too much labor, especially as he develops the cough directly after. Phil feared it may be another illness, but so far it seemed alright.
Exhausted, it's one night when he remembers the event going on. With a heaved sigh, he mentions it blankly, startling when both kids jump on the chance to get him out of the house. Tallulah insists on helping with his hair, Chayanne confirming it was a good idea.
Phil decided to go, in the end. Just for the night. Exhaustion bogging every step, misery in his joints, he goes.
He might as well try to have fun, for a little while.
(Somehow, seeing the others with each other makes him want to claw his hair out. So he takes another drink. Asks for something harder, stronger, and only then does he start to feel a little better, leaning on Quackity on the way out.)
(What a hellhole of an island, honestly. No matter how much he loved the people on it.)

See, the great fun with Pissa is I feel like any way you headcanon it you can make an arguable defence for it.
non-romantic, non-sexual QPR? Well they said with their mouths that it was platonic, and they're not THAT demonstrative. Kissing for a dare doesn't mean you kiss all the time. this can work. The important part is that they are A FAMILY look we got 4/4 family I'm weeping.
romantic, non-sexual QPR? Jumping to punch someone at the idea that they set up a date with your platonic husband? I see you. You are gonna be cuddling in bed later, aren't you.
QPR but they kiss and have sex? I saw you casualonasing on your husband, Phil. That was going to be picked up later, I just know it. Platonic just means you define it yourself, I'm picking up what you're laying down. Fucking but you're aro about it. Based honestly.
Romantic relationship and yes they fuck nasty? Okay with the people on this server including Wilbur and Baghera I would also loudly insist that my relationship was platonic so nobody asked me what my husband's dick looked like. I don't know I've never seen it and it's never been in my mouth. Don't ask me these things. Nope. (Meanwhile torrid romance.) I can track it.
They fully don't know what it is, it's just an arranged marriage that's turning into something new when they see each other every so often? Based. Who needs labels anyways. I will tag it as &/ and take my chances. I bet they held hands when they were sleeping.
There's nothing tender feelings happening Phil is simply gay4pay. Honestly I've only seen one person advocating this but it is so funny to me. You get that bag, Philza Minecraft. Missa staring pleadingly at his government-assigned-husband while Phil counts his pieces of leather and thinks about escape. Fantastic.
That's the glory of Minecraft roleplay, you fully get to fill in the blanks! The important thing is WE WIN THESE with all of yesterday.

Pissa Headcanon Post:
1) Philza likes to hug Missa with his wings a lot. He is always sorta hovering next to Missa. Missa is cold? Wing. Missa is hot? Wing. Missa is happy? Wing. Missa is sad? Wing. Missa despite this doesn’t realize this is unusual for a avian to be so affectionate. I like to imagine Missa just think this is normal for avians to act like this.
2) Philza is protective of their shared home because in his avian brain that’s their nest. Which is why he is so reluctant to let people access and why he always reminds people it’s “Phil and Missa”. Because it’s theirs. Not his. Missa doesn’t realize this is big. Someone needs to slap his brain with a book about avian courting rituals. Philza has started courting Missa from practically day 1. Missa doesn’t know this. Again someone help him.
3) Missa has been gifted Phil’s feathers and the fact that avians only gift feathers to someone they are courting. Philza would even braid the feathers into Missa hair. As a subtle way to say back off.
4) Missa is taller than Phil. Despite this Phil will pick up Missa easily. I imagine soon into their government assigned marriage Phil realized it’s the best course of option to do to get Missa out of sticky situations. Phil will also perch on his shoulder when he really decides to be playful.
5) Because of Avian instincts Philza really want to preen Missa. But obviously he doesn’t has wings. So instead he tends to play with his hair a lot. And take out whatever debris Missa managed to get in it. He will literally take out like twigs out of Missa hair in front of people once it started bothering him.
6) Missa had to learn quickly how to preen Phil’s wings. And high-key he is the best at preening on the island. Even more so than other Avians. Because boy was high-key must be the best for his husband. Especially considering Phil tends to get his wings dirty easily from all the exploring and adventuring.
7) Like most Avians if you touch his wings randomly Phil would probably attempt some sort of violence. The only people that have unlimited wing access without asking is literally his family and Missa. Again Missa would not realize how big a deal this is. Missa can fully touch Phil’s wings anytime. And knowing Missa would take advantage because softness.
8) Phil avian side immediately found Missa attractive because he was a good singer (a common way for avians to court). Phil is abyssal at singing so the common way he courted is with so much gifts and acts of service.
9) The reason Phil stopped sleeping in the double bed Missa and him shared is because Missa scent left and that made him low key depressed. The main reason behind once Missa came back Philza and him had a massive cuddle.
10) I like to imagine once Missa came back Philza was finally free of most of his stress. His wings not a mess. No eye-bags. Skin clear. Smiling at everything and nothing. And the only thing that happened was Missa coming back. And others that never met Missa and Philza before Missa went away are kinda scared. Because Philza the angel of death himself is all soft and happy. Not dying of stress 24/7.
11) It’s my personal belief that Avians are private but very affectionate. So Philza is actually very affectionate towards Missa. Missa meanwhile can’t handle Philza complimenting him and saying good things about him. Missa is so weak for verbal affection. Please somebody give the poor guy some confidence.
12) Philza is one of the few people that Missa feels safe enough around to take off his skull mask. Most of the island has never seen Missa without his mask.

I can totally see missa waking up in the middle of the night and turning over to philza just to ask "would you still love me if I was a worm"
And Philza just stays up letting his government assignmented wet cat husband know that yes he would still love him if he was a worm.

So... Spreen and Missa were brothers. That's a thing.
And Fit married Spreen, and Spreen died before the divorce paperwork was signed or they reached long enough for it not to need Spreen's signature, so Fit is Spreen's widower. (Much sexier than divorcee, let's face it, even if he prefers divorcee - which he legally isn't - because it sounds like he had a choice in the matter or something there's something to unpack there I'm sure)
And so Fit is Missa's brother-in-law. And Missa is Fit's brother-in-law.
And Philza is Missa's (platonic, government assigned [*stares at them and shakes my head*]) husband.
And so Philza was Spreen's brother-in-law. And Spreen was Philza's brother-in-law.
Which!
Means Philza and Fit are /also/ brothers-in-law.
But that's besides the point, because Fit (and Spreen) are Ramon's parents, and Missa and Philza are Chayanne and Tallulah (and Wilbur?)'s parents.
Which means Fit (and Spreen) are Chayanne and Tallulah (and Wilbur?)'s uncle(s), and Philza and Missa are Ramon's uncles.
This all means...
Ramon is Chayanne and Tallulah (and Wilbur?)'s cousin.
And I don't know where I'm going with this, but it's definitely something.

I AM SO DUMB AND SILLY- HOLD ON-
SHE WANTS ME TO BE LOVED BY THE HAPPY FITS IS DEATHDUO/PISSA CODED. HELLO??? Maybe someone already mentioned this song- I don't know, I didn't see anyone mention it— BUT IT FITS?? IT FITS THEM BOTH
I know you know, I'm not too discreet
Walking around, heart on my sleeve
So, you say you love me, but not the way I need
Things are so close to what I want to be
I've known you so long, and maybe too well
All of the boys, you kiss and tell
Though I'll never be them, see I'm just a good friend
Though it's not quite bliss, I don't want this to end
Missa, it's so Missa coded with these words. He's more emotional, he's more open with his feelings and he's always nervous and embarrassed. He is vocal and is more connected with his feelings. It was so obvious that Philza even knows, he knows what Missa said when he tried to speak quickly in Spanish. Missa isn't exactly good at hiding it, but he sure knows not to press further in Philza's boundaries!!
Missa wants more, but he knows Philza isn't comfortable. So he's content with their arrangements, even if he wants more! He still wants to be Philza's friend, someone Philza can turn to even when he wasn't around as much for the kids!!
(also the whole "all of the boys, you kiss and tell" is a silly hint how Philza is super comfortable with Fit and others. You know what I mean-)
Let's take a walk down by the beach
It's warm on the sand, we'll save space for Jesus
I'll pick you flowers while you count the hours
'Til you can go home and watch drama TV
I'll say it now, there's no turnin' back
Time after time, my odds are stacked
So, I'll say no kiddin' while you wish I didn't
Maybe this time will be different for me
Philza, ohh, this old crow father is so repressed with his feelings. We have to rely on his actions, and sometimes actions speak a lot (not for Missa. PLZ- we need to gently hit him with a hammer to get him to understand).
But we can see how Philza keeps things that remind him of Missa. He kept the armor stand for so long, holding hope that Missa will eventually return. He tells Tallulah about Missa, and Chayanne keeps the skull that Missa gave him.
We can see the gradual shift as time flows, and seeing how the other Islanders start to get into more relationships. Philza is slowly starting to yearn and do things, or well say, he'd never would say about someone else (other than his wife). And by God's, the new crumbs we got just confirms this because of how much he changed from "platonic government assigned husband" to "MY Missa"
Also the way Philza gets so sad and upset when he mentions how Missa thinks Philza doesn't want him-
One day you'll love me before we grow old
All of your wishes to have and to hold
I'll do your dishes and ask for no kisses
So, I'll tell you what I want if
You tell me what you want is
Quit movin'
Quit dancin'
Why can't you love me here tonight?
The yearning from Philza, who desperately wants his platonic spouse back. He'd do anything for him, get him anything if he can just come back hommeeee and Missa is willing to do anything whatever Philza says he needs him to do. He won't press further, until Philza says something-
lord help me-
Deathduo/pissa crumbs save me...

ah fuck i'm thinking about fitpac and fit's 2b trauma again.
this time i'm thinking about fit's relationship with spreen because spreen is a guy that fit has actually spent very little time around and doesn't know very well at all, but fit does know spreen's reputation as a master pvper and a very dangerous sort of guy.
also, fit's best friend on the island is phil, who hasn't seen his partner for months and months, but still keeps space completely open for him and is perfectly willing to let missa slot right back in to phil's life where he left off like nothing happened.
now, fit and spreen were never close, but they were husbands, so if spreen were to come back and find fit dating someone else...
now do i think that spreen would care if the guy that the government he doesn't care about assigned him to raise an egg he doesn't care about with got together with another guy he also doesn't care about? no.
do i think fit is willing to bet pac's life on that when he doesn't know spreen well enough to say? well, maybe it's better to just take baby steps for now.

QSMP! Missa Character Analysis and How it Relates To Pissa
This is like the twin post to the Philza character analysis and how it relates to pissa. If anyone wants to know about how QSMP! Philza as a character and how that relates to pissa. I recommend checking out that post. Everyone really loved that post so I wanted to do a twin post of sorts focusing on our favorite wet cat Missa. Special thanks to @pepper-mintzyy my fandom demon on my shoulder.
Now I was personally introduced to him in Qsmp so I have no prior knowledge about any lore or character traits he had in other series. So I’m just getting my analysis only from Qsmp! Missa. Missa at his core is kind. I would even say too kind at times. He easily believes and forgives those he shouldn’t. He is kind to everyone. Everyone but himself.
Missa is also primarily driven by his emotions. Not in a bad way. His emotions just bleed out like Ink for better or for worse. Unlike Phil his emotions are the primarily driving force behind his actions. And this isn’t a bad thing. Of course Missa will find Phil more logical and calm approach to things comforting and attractive. Phil is a calm balm and his security blanket. Missa always feels safe with Philza.
Missa also has some baggage from his first week or so involving Spreen and Roier. He had no clue what was actually was happening. And he didn’t want to choose between them. This led to them both leaving him by himself. So of course he was a tad depressed before meeting Phil. And you could say he fell instantly.
Phil was his opposite in a good way. But both are similar when it mattered. Phil is honest, kind, spoils the heck out of Missa, and just cared so much. So of course Missa fell for the man instantly. I’m 100% sure the first day they got chayanne is when Missa began crushing hard on his government assigned husband.
Sadly the fact about Missa as a character is despite being surrounded by his family and husband that cares so much about him and literally will kill anyone that hurts him emotionally or physically (looking at you chayanne numero uno shipper and protector of the pissa nation). He still believes he is unworthy of them. Despite them loving Missa just the way he is. He doesn’t realize he doesn’t have to change or impress.
He is a tangle of insecurities. Any mistake he does is the worst thing. Any criticism he receives is the truth. He loves Phil and his family so he wants to be better for them. He wants to be one they can rely on when things get rough. He wants to protect them even if he isn’t the best at things. He wants to try. And I think Phil loves that about him.
Like I previously said up above. Phil and Missa are opposites but similar in the way it matters. Both Missa and Phil are loyal to a fault. The only other loyal as hell pair in the server is the actual canon married couple. They both also want the best for their family and they both love so deeply. They both just want each other and their family to be safe.
But also Philza only feels safe with Missa. Philza main trait is his paranoia but when Phil is with Missa it’s like the things previous that worried him is nothing next to Missa. Missa is Philza comfort. Philza adores Missa and how comforting and sweet he is. And of course Missa who is emotional (will sob at anything and everything) fell in love first. But like I said in the Philza post. Philza adores him as much as Missa adores him. He just doesn’t verbalize it.
Meanwhile Missa would gladly scream he loves philza from the mountain tops of Philza was okay with that. He would gladly call Philza attractive and the best if he didn’t fear coming on too strong or making his beloved uncomfortable. (We already talked in length about why Philza isn’t used to being vulnerable and fully admitting he loves Missa in the Philza post).
Unlike a certain Brazilian Missa will never even dare think of taking away Philza agency. He loves Philza because he is Philza. And Missa is so kind that despite his love for the man if Philza ever rejects him he would accept. In fact he has kept most of his affections a secret because he doesn’t want to make philza uncomfortable. The fact is everyone can see the two of them are in love but them.
But we all know the truth. Phil adores Missa with his whole heart. He loves Missa so much. And I do think Missa knows on some level. But he doesn’t want to push the issue. Again because he is so kind and understanding. At the moment he is just happy to be in Phil’s presence. Whether it’s under a charade of a platonic marriage or not. He is just happy to be with Phil. And others may say he is not the best for Phil and his family because he was gone for so long. But the fact is Missa never stopped tying to come back home. He was literally kidnapped for months. And the only reason he went out in the first place was to get Phil a gift. And Phil knows this so of course he stayed loyal and accepted him back no hesitation. Missa always will love Phil. Even if Philza doesn’t love him back. And isn’t true love when you don’t expect it be returned and you love him anyways? (Philza loves him so much. It’s just too dangerous to say it. But Philza wants to so badly)

Just making a list of things, intentionally or otherwise, which might have/did mess with Philza's emotional state in the lead up to him doing a silly and following the book (which promised his kids back and implied his wings too) (from memory I don't have the stream open and it was loooong):
It being Tallulah's birthday
Forever, a close friend, is in a coma after having been drugged, and Philza probably having a pretty traumatic time just 2 days prior trying to help. And now all he can do is bang a pan and talk and pray.
Eggs missing
Philza missed his eggs being hurt and in pain and scared because he was away, and the signs are still there to prove it
Him and Fit discussing the eggs, and if Philza would still love them even if they were AIs/robots/lab experiments/etc
Event his kids would have really enjoyed, but they aren't there to do so. No Chayanne doing the cooking, no Tallulah playing her flute...
Taking Tallulah's place at the event by playing the music (a thing Philza doesn't do, despite being in an extremely musical family)
Capybaras helping him fly to take photos (see: the damaged wings and the promise of flight)
Alcohol from the celebration, even if he only drank a little bit.
Having to explain everything to Missa, his government assigned husband, and admit he wasn't there when the eggs needed them - neither of their parents were there, just the babysitters. Couldn't even get a phonecall with their dads when the kids were hurt and in pain. Having to tell his partner their children are lost, maybe dead, maybe gone, nobody knows. Obviously Missa needed to know and Philza would explain it! And telling Missa the best option! But... It wouldn't have helped Philza's mental state.
The eggs in the maze and only two survive story (messed with everyone tbf)
Only (a copy of) Chayanne's item being in the maze. Also it being blocked from him by the barrier blocks. It only being Chayanne's is even worse to his mental state than it being everyone's there
Believing himself too stupid to save his children, expressing this directly by apologising to the Chayanne floaty for that, and bringing it to mind, probably not helped by being in a crew of a lot of the 'clever' players (we all know from those tumblr posts insulting yourself enough over time affects behaviour, and given his mentions about not doing lore because not clever enough earlier even if that was ooc this is probably a longer term concern for him C as well. Pretty sure he's called himself stupid while rping with the eggs before)
The maze ending with no answers, only more pain and fear. Once again left with glimmers but in practice nothing
His extremely secure home being compromised
Using Tallulah's colours and flowers on the box. Also correctly getting the one of his kid who would leave him angsty metaphor and a story with the instructions, even if it felt a bit off (its her birthday, its her birthday, he was desperate)
The joke about a wise old crow whilst he was feeling very stupid, but knows his kids think of him as clever.
Also the crow thing. I know there's a lot of jokes about Philza and bird brain which go around from time to time, the perching, the wandering off to examine shiny things while people are talking, etc. If we take this as read... Well. Phrasing the instructions as about a bird really would force that side of him.
Using the nest as the closest waypoint. His nest, not his house, his concrete nest in the sky where he felt most like the bird he partially is.
It happening so late. Philza doesn't often continue to midnight, let alone gone 2am. To me this implies his character isn't usually up and big active that long (I like to think when offline the characters are a combo of sleeping and just chilling). So IC he's probably exhausted. Which. Does not for "rational" thinking make. You probably wouldn't have got him not leaving at least a copy of the book in the chest earlier in the day.
TBH, all that accounted for, I'm surprised he kept weapons and shield and glider and food on him with the note. It was needed, but I'm more surprised he managed to reign himself to bring some things with him not just throw everything on the floor and go.
It was a /long/ stream and even the fun cute bits fed into a loop of stressing him out and breaking down. Crack, crack, crack, crack, and after enough time it /will/ get through.
And tbf, it probably took all of that to do so.
(and I hope the other characters when he one way or another gets out of this understand. everyone's under a lot of stress, but that stream in Philza stream was just breaking him again and again and again)
Also another aside which breaks the vibes of this post but eh - people keep saying his survivalist tendancies should have kicked in, but I think they actually played against him here?
Philza is used to taking on very shit situations with a lot less than he was carrying. That sword and shield? More powerful than anything in hardcore. And sure now he's set up he has so much food and resources in hardcore world, but when he starts? He starts somewhere impossibly dangerous with literally nothing, and does fine, which is a whole lot less than he took with him.
Plus... He's used to being alone. Completely stressed out, manipulated, and fucked with brain probably didn't even consider a note. Why? Because he's not used to anyone being there. Why leave a note before going to do something dangerous you're underequipped for if there's nobody there to read it? It's only him in most of his worlds. Nobody would notice him gone because there's nobody there to notice.
(Sure his husband his back and his friends are here and the island is full of people who love and trust and care about him, but at the end of the day, when he's stressed and its late and the Feds have systematically and likely purposefully broken him down, and his friends have accidentally helped with that... He's from a solo hardcore world, where he starts with nothing and nobody is there to help him. It's not he doesn't trust them. It's that he doesn't even realise in the height of his emotions that there's anyone else there.)

Thinking how to me it's a more interesting choice not for Philza to have to pick which kid to save as in which one lives, but for him to have to pick which kid to save as in the players get split up and he has to choose which kid to entrust to the team he isn't on.
Does he go first to Tallulah, his disabled daughter who needs a lot of physical protection the other adults don't quite understand or notice all of the time, but who is adored by the islanders and the Brazilians especially would claw out their own eyes before they let her suffer?
Or does he go first to Chayanne, who is physically so much stronger, but the other adults are kinda distant with (bar Missa, who... Is not really saving people material however much I love him), who don't have that personal attachment, who would absolutely save him but maybe, just maybe, wouldn't fight quite as hard for - if only because they expect this /child/ to be strong and handle himself (emotionally and physically both).
Forcing Philza to entrust one of his kids to someone else and having to pick which kid that is is, to me, more interesting, and is an extremely interesting character choice.
Picking which one dies? Either way that's just going to break him. He will just be crushed. Congrats, you emotionally ruined an old bird man already having severe mental health problems. I don't even know how you RP that and have it watchable long term with the way he's been talking his personal plot.
Picking which kid he entrusts to other people? Having to trust the other players with his /child/? Either one of them? That's a lot more satisfying to me. It's cruel without being sadistic, you know? And forcing Philza Fucking Minecraft to trust /someone else/ with one of his children in a situation where he /knows/ they'll be emotionally fucked up and probably physically in danger too? That's tasty.
(I love Missa, and he would entirely be willing, but even if he's there he's not what one would call combat capable or emotionally steady, hence why Missa goes after Chayanne is still entrusting other people. That's maybe worse as Phil would have to trust them to look after Chayanne [or Tallulah, but it'd be Chayanne] /and/ his kinda squishy very fragile but extremely loved government-assigned husband)
