I like the concept of rocks, for even "incorrectly" they are fun to imagine.

I'd blame Pinterest for giving me these pictures and having myself draw them for real.
Anyways? Not CoD related but, this is the first time I've ever drawn something like this? And before y'all start commenting what I was up to, I was practicing grayscale shading and blending okay? I needed a proper good reference and that's what I found so, SPARE ME 🥹
But hear me out.. I am still staring at my hands like, did I actually do this lol? Well, worth learning something new than being stuck in one thing. So, I hope you like it, and let me know your views <3

i originally did this in grayscale and then colored it with gradient maps :o definitely a steep learning curve but I think it turned out great for my first time!

A little sneak peak of the next thing I'm painting.
I know. Two paintings in a week? Crazy. But don't get used to it. I could disappear again tomorrow 🥷

"Waiting for the Sun to Shine Again"
Another of my "covid period paintings." This one features a favorite view of Cranbrook Lake. This week's painting was completed today in 6 hours. I again worked in grayscale with acrylic and gouache. Created from a recent photo I took, the painting depicts that peculiarly cold kind of day in Michigan in mid-April just before spring is about to burst forth. I keep selecting scenes of vacancy for these paintings. Empty boats and an exposed stump where a tree used to be. Perhaps the emptiness represents what and who is missing. I leave it to the viewer to decide.

seriously? all i needed to get confident drawing backgrounds was to use greyscale? this changes everything i can make full pieces without hating them now! maybe even draw a building!

POV: You're Kavya.
Using this as an excuse to practice shading and painting, I present to you all, our Arjun again! Well, I'm pretty proud of this one a lot, especially because of how I've blended the shades and all! I hope you like it! <3
Kavya after looking at her husband be like, ".. is this the man I married?"
Here's the colored version beneath. I only had to change the hues and it was so interesting to see the result!
