Woah mama! I appreciate the traction of the first shark poll, so here is another for so many beloved friends who did not fit the first one! Shark fans,
I truly did have many of the species listed here in mind with the previous poll, I just did not have the space and had to prioritise some sharks I knew were longtime favourites! But worry not… no more! SHARK FANS COME GET YOUR JUICE!!!!
What shall I do with the info in the two polls? I dunno. Maybe make another poll with even more sharks? Maybe combine the winners and make them fight to the death? Who knows! Let’s see.

My top 5 favourite sharks
#5 - Hammerhead
Look at that goofy face. Like. Why your eyes so far apart. I am avoiding the obvious joke because I don’t like fruit that already fell onto the ground. Their shovel face is like that because they have the strongest sensory ability of any creature: Electroreception. It can sense the contractions and movements of anything in the ocean. Which is very neat.
#4 - Thresher
Just look at its face. It looks like it’s either tripping on several acids at once or has just seen some shit. They also have a tail as long as the rest of their body that they use as a whip to tenderize their food instantly, which is very neat.
#3 - Whale Shark
They are big, pretty, and nice. They got big square heads which I love. They’re the largest of all fish alive today. They’re just big ol’ filter feeders and very docile so you can just vibe with them no worries. They also have big goofy faces.
#2 - Coral Catshark
This one’s probably niche, but they are small at like 2 feet long and cute and almost threatened and sometimes sleep together in coral crannies during the day. They’re also a little pretty. Definitely somebody’s spirit animal if they knew it existed.
#1 - Blacktip Reef Shark
They may look like normal sharks, but blacktips are my favourite shark. They’re only just over 5 feet long max and have social groups within natural populations, with different group dynamics. They group with other blacktips with similar personalities. Like in school you got your jocks, the nerds, the girly girls, and the weirdos and how those groups interact with eachother, but it’s with sharks in the open sea. I once saw Coyote Peterson handle one that got caught in a tidepool and it was a cute lil guy.

Stormfly is next as Part 2 of httyd dragons as sharks!
From the blind spot and the intelligence, Stormfly would be a Great Hammerhead.
While they don’t sport their own spines, hammerheads ARE immune to stingray spines.
Some scientists have even found ray spines embedded in the skulls of live hammerheads!
Talk about resilience!
I went back and forth about whether or not to keep Stormfly’s original palette— but COME ON, it’s beautiful! I had to add it!
Maybe not a natural hammerhead coloration but still beautiful!

Daily fish fact #340
Great hammerhead!
This species only reproduces every two years! This has unfortunately made it vulnerable to overfishing, as the population cannot grow as fast as it is “used”. Fortunately they supplement this by having up to 50 pups at a time!
