Very strange little Chrysopid larvae.
These larvae have long bristles that eventually collect bits of fallen debris.
This helps camouflage them from predators.
I’ve also been bitten by these things before,
so be weary whilst handling.

Usually when I photograph these they look like the top individual, just lichen on a tree. But there is a larva under there. You can see the head in the second photo and the legs in the third. They stick the lichen on their backs for camouflage.

Unidentified chrysopidae larvae, I found this cool guy while studying on my campus and I'm working with my entomology professor to see what species it belongs to.

Green Lacewing
While the Green Lacewing was perched on a blooming cloud of Golden Alexanders, I wondered why it should ever want to leave.

Little guy landed on my leg and proceeded to bite me over and over. I let him do it until it hurt too bad because he was so cute :')
Pretty sure it's a green lacewing. North GA, USA!
It is a green lacewing! This one was apparently hungry for human flesh :)
