'Mared' Announces New EP 'Better Late Than Never' Out May 10th

North Walian Artist 'Mared' aka Mared Williams has announced her New EP 'Better Late Than Never' which will be released independently on the 10th of May 2024.

Following on from the warmly recieved 'Lately' single which was a beautiful tribute to the Laurel Canyon Movement of the late sixties.

'Lately' single gained some fantastic support from Adam Walton on BBC Introducing, LeFutureWave, God Is In The TV (TracksofTheweek)Nation Cymru, Amplify The Noise, BeachHouseMag, The Other Side Reviews and Extra French Blog.

Splitting her time between rural Wales and London, Mared’s music results in an intriguing blend of folk infused soul-pop. Deeply connected to her roots in Welsh folk but always seeking to combine with a new pace in the city.

Mared's debut bilingual album, 'Y Drefn' was awarded Welsh Album of The Year in 2021. Since then, Mared released her EP 'Something Worth Losing', in 2022, co-written with producer Nate Williams in Beaumaris and has been supported by Radio Wales' Welsh A list and BBC Radio Cymru and performed her originals with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, and at Sony Hall in NYC.

Mared’s solo gigs are intimate and powerful when she plays for herself, but in keeping with the enormous flexibility of her vocals, the full band set up of 7 friends has sold outand brought joy to venues such as (London): Pizza Express Holborn, Greennote Music, (Wales): Clwb Ifor Bach, Pontio and many more.

Looking ahead to this year, following her new singles ‘pe bawn i’n rhydd’ (BBC Radio Wales’ Welsh A-list and Radio Cymru’s track of theweek), and ‘lately;’ Mared is releasing an EP called ‘better late than never’ on the 10th of May 2024, and is in the process of recording a full band live album, consisting of both released and unreleased songs, supported by BBC Horizons Launchpad.

Her name is already on summer festival line-ups, such as Focus Wales in Wrexham and the North American Festival of Wales in Pittsburg (Pennsylvania) and she’s looking forwards to growing her fanbase this year as new music is released.

Green and environmental design principles encourage an ecological approach to the monitoring and use of energy. In turn, this raises an awareness and encourages sustainability. We are slowly seeing some achievements in environmentally aware art and design.

Green Note is an awareness campaign. This simple ‘green note’ (colour, sound, frequency) is a cross platform prompt and metaphorical screen-saver that acts as a reminder about electrical consumption of power. From computer design to cloud based monitoring systems... What does it mean to shift to increasingly ‘green perspectives’? How do we deal with modern information overload? How do we save energy? And how do technology and society influence each other reciprocally? A designed mediation on how to consume less, unplug ourselves and our electrical appliances, and then watch and listen the Green Note grow! physically, visually and metaphorically.

Ashelia Riot: Damn! Etone Greennote kneels beside Enea, huffing and gasping for breath as he attempts to work healing energy into the prone Miqo'te. Crimson Bull looks to Ashelia Riot, frustration and anger weighing heavy on his mind. Ashelia Riot: There was never any Vegnagun. We've sent the others into an ambush. Enea Mohnesh lies on the ground, her breathing a bit stable as she slowly opens her eyes. Enea Mohnesh: Ugh... where- where are we? Enea Mohnesh tries to sit up but the sharp pain suggests her to do otherwise. Enea Mohnesh: Agh! Ashelia Riot: The Peaks. Ashelia Riot stares up at the smoke coming from the Reach; some part of her father's memories reaches her, and she feels physically ill for a moment before she is able to push the sensation away. Crimson Bull stands, throwing a mighty punch into the cliffside. Crimson Bull: We never had a chance, did we... Ashelia Riot hesitates for a very long moment, then shakes her head. Crimson Bull sighs, and without a word, begins to limp away. Enea Mohnesh strikes her fist to the ground, and remnants of aether and shadows wave away as tears roll down her face.
