Jamie Thomason returns to chat about casting Brigitte Bako as Angela, directing Frank Welker, and then we follow that up with an intellectually stimulating discussion on Cryptozoology – and of course we’re just kidding: we discuss Tim Curry as Dr. Sevarius (and can’t seem to stop quoting him), the episode’s strengths and weaknesses and a great time is had by all throughout as you would come to expect from the Weisman & Thomason Variety Hour!
First Impressions also returns as we discuss our initial thoughts on “Dark Ages #6”, “Gargoyles #12” and “Gargoyles Quest #1″… it’s a great time to be a Gargoyles fan and a terrible time to be a human as Demona returns and makes her move. First impression covers the first twenty-six minutes of our show if you wish to avoid spoilers.

Dynamite Comics Launches Kickstarter for GARGOYLES Classic Comics As Part Of The Show's 30th Anniversary.
Dynamite Comics and Disney Comics are celebrating the 30th anniversary of Gargoyles with the first-ever Kickstarter campaign featuring brand new graphic novels collecting long out-of-print Gargoyles comic books.
Tumblr media
Dynamite Entertainment brought back Gargoyles as a comic series in 2022 to great acclaim. Now the publisher is crowdfunding a reprint of the classic comics based on the beloved animated series. To celebrate the 30th anniversary, Dynamite is excited to offer three beautiful tomes collecting all of these previous tales for fans. The set is initially being offered on Kickstarter to reach and communicate with diverse fans of all ages directly.
“I’m honestly thrilled that these three volumes will finally give Gargoyles fans easy access to these great stories, including the canon SLG tales!” said Weisman. “I think the Dynamite Kickstarter is a great way for Gargoyles fans to get the word out and to reserve their copies. This could be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, so I hope our fans don’t miss out!”
The first volume is the hotly anticipated compilation of the first-ever Gargoyles comic series from 1995. This 11-issue title was originally released by Marvel Comics and is set loosely between the first two seasons of the original TV show. The memorable first issue featured a jaw-dropping cover by artist Joe Madureira, one of the biggest superstars of the era from his work on Uncanny X-Men. The series was written by Martin Pasko (Superman) and Mort Todd.
The second and third volumes of the Gargoyles Classic Years will be an incredible treat. From 2006 to 2009, a new Gargoyles comic series was launched from SLG Publishing in association with CreatureComics — the first written by Weisman. The main series, often referred to as “Clan Building,” was joined by a companion title, Bad Guys. Issues #9-12 of Gargoyles and #5-6 of Bad Guys did not see release and were only printed in paperback collections with small print runs. They were produced at a smaller digest size and have been incredibly expensive for years on the secondary market.
The three-volume set is available in multiple variations for different kinds of fans and collectors. Each is available as either hardcover or paperback. Deluxe hardcover editions with signed tip-in pages are being offered. For the Gargoyles diehards, the most premium option will be the Gargoyles 30th Anniversary Premier Editions limited to just 1,000 copies each!
In addition to the books at the center of this celebration, the campaign will offer several add-ons for backers, including lithograph prints of Jae Lee and Amanda Conner’s covers for Dynamite’s Gargoyles #1. The most premium art piece anyone can get will be a deluxe signed and remarqued giclée print of Lee’s Gargoyles art.
In addition to the reprint of the full series, fans can get special facsimile editions of the very first issue with gold or purple foil stamping. Sketch cover options are also available, as well as commissioned original art from Lee. Plus, collector packs of variant cover sets or premium limited editions and metal covers for Dynamite’s series can be added.

Greg Weisman's twitter account was hacked, which was used to doxx him (as well as to post/retweet a bunch of porn, slander, and hate speech).
he's the creator of shows like Gargoyles, Spectacular Spider-Man or Young Justice, for those who don't know.
it seems it has been going on for a few days (and that there was a previous hack recently as well), so I'd ask that if you see this, you report the account for impersonating him (things as they are, I don't know reporting the hate speech or the porn will do much, but maybe the impersonation will be an issue).

Dynamite Comics and Disney Comics Announce Prequel “Gargoyles: Dark Ages” Mini-Series Slated For June 2023.
Dynamite Comics and Disney Comics   announced today an exciting new miniseries event that will continue to expand their hit comic, Gargoyles Gargoyles: Dark Ages will feature a journey into the past and the Manhattan Clan’s origin story, thanks to franchise creator Greg Weisman.  Weisman is joined by artist Drew Moss (”Vampirella/Red Sonja, Copperhead”) and letterer Jeff Eckleberry. The book also offers a perfect entry point for newcomers to the franchise and comic series.
Dark Ages will have covers featuring younger visions of iconic characters, with a new mix of artists separate from the main series to offer fans and collectors more unique portrayals of the cast. Legendary artist Clayton Crain (Venom, Spider-Man) leads the way, alongside Alan Quah, Mirka Andolfo, Kenya Danino, and Erica Henderson. Unique and limited edition variants feature an action figure-inspired piece, some pitch artwork from the TV show, and covers by both Jae Lee and interior artist Moss.
Gargoyles: Dark Ages #1
July 2023
Written By Greg Weisman Art By  Drew Moss
As Goliath’s narration explained, “One thousand years ago, Superstition and the Sword ruled. It was an Age of Darkness. It was a World of Fear.” For a time, the Gargoyles of that era lived peacefully alongside humans, each species having sworn to protect the other. But that truce didn’t last, and in 994, the Gargoyle Clan was cursed to sleep as stone statues for a millennium – until they eventually awoke in modern Manhattan. Gargoyles: Dark Ages, set in the year 971, depicts the origins of the Gargoyle-Human Alliance – some twenty-plus years before things came to a bad end. In this never-before-explored era, monsters still come in all shapes and sizes, forcing Gargoyles and Humans to work together to repel the forces of evil, which threaten to bring the Alliance down, from both without and within.
“I have ALL these stories that I’ve wanted to tell for decades now, so I pitched a number of ideas to Dynamite and Disney, and this is the one that excited everyone the most,” said Weisman. “This is an exciting era for the Gargoyle Clan (not to mention an exciting time in Scottish History), and I’m thrilled we’ll all have a chance to explore it together.
“I really enjoyed the show back in the ’90s and was super excited to be even considered for this project,” said Moss. “I am trying to do interior art traditionally, so this allows me to do some washes and other things that allow me to get my hands dirty. I hope to stay true to the art from the show while infusing my own art style to it.”
In addition to the first issue having an oversized 24-page story, each issue of Dark Ages will also feature four pages of complementary prose storytelling by Weisman with spot illustrations. This extra material will allow him to tap into corners of the mythos in a way that will amplify the impact of the entire series. The series will also feature high-quality cardstock covers on each variant. At 40 total pages, Gargoyles: Dark Ages #1 will be the next ultimate celebration of Disney’s iconic franchise.

Gargoyles: The Curse Of Hunter's Moon
Demona's Introduction
The following is an entire sequence that I'm sharing to give you a definitive idea and a great taste to show what I'm going for with this:
ST. DAMIEN'S CATHEDRAL
MANHATTAN, NEW YORK
It's the middle of the night and a bright red car with a white top on it that looks to be almost 1950s-ish pulls up right in front of the derelict church. Coming out of the front seat, Elisa Maza looks down at the location map that Fox, the mysterious women who was now disfigured on her right eye in the hospital, had drawn and given to her in secret. This was indeed the place, something that looks like Dracula would live in. When entering through the front door, Elisa is surprised at how grand the inside of it is and cracks a dryly sarcastic joke at the Queen Of England having her royal wedding here.
She makes her way to the basement as instructed and uses the golden key that Fox slipped to her as well to open the entrance. Entering and making her way down the hard stone staircase, she finds that it isn't a basement but instead is a large crypt with a black sarcophagus right in the middle across a metal mini-bridge over water. Elisa remembers what Fox had told her and that what was inside in the middle would be the evidence to nail Dominique Destine on these recent events for good. Opening it, she finds the body of a woman encased in cement and clutched in her hands to Elisa's shock is exactly what she needs to prove that Destine was involved in this. Carefully removing it from this body's cold, dead hands, Elisa gets too cocky for her own good and boasts to herself how all of this was a piece of cake in a smug way.
Only for her to stop when she begins to look at the body more closely and notices that she looks strangely familiar as if she's seen her before. It's when Elisa squints and gets just a little too close that the body in cement.... moves.
A shocked Elisa ends tripping over and horrifyingly comes not just face-to-face but nose-to-nose with the woman. Screaming in terror as the cement cracks, Elisa gets herself up and said cement completely breaks apart entirely to reveal that not only is this woman and well and not happy but also that she had blue skin, spiky, red hair, wore a white loincloth with a matching single strap top, a golden tiara on her head, an armband on her upper left arm, a leg band on her lower left leg, had sharp knife-like claws on her hands and feet and finally glowing pitch red eyes full of hard rage staring directly at Elisa, the human intruder in her lair.
After an intense scuffle where Elisa's gun is crushed by Demona's bare foot, the piece of evidence falls right into the water and as Elisa realizes she has to go in after it, several of the coffins burst open, arms smash through the walls, clawed feet push through the ceiling and out of them comes all of these creature women just like Demona with glowing red eyes, sharp fangs and equally pissed.
Jumping in as fast as she can, she scrambles around to find the main evidence in this disgusting and murky water on a terrifying time limit when she finally finds it but when she immediately grabs hold of it, a rotting head pops out from underneath it. A horrified Elisa looks around to see all these underwater skeletons and decomposing bodies around her, she screams in terror with bubbles coming up. And that guttural scream is carried over when she instantly comes back up and sees Demona is right at her who lets out a bone-chilling and nightmarish roar at her as the camera goes full-on Sam Raimi and goes into Demona's large open mouth to reveal that her uvula is a grotesque deformity that instead of being round at the bottom, it's a crooked sharp point.
Tumblr media
A truly horrified Elisa screams in absolute terror only for the camera to pull another Sam Raimi and go into her just as wide open mouth to reveal that she too has the exact same grotesque and deformed uvula with the same sharp crooked point bottom.
The sight of this shocks and takes back Demona as Elisa runs out of the water with the other women in hot pursuit only for Demona to signal them to stop and marches forward with a twisted smirk on her face and taking her sweet time with Elisa running back up the stairway, basically saying without a line of dialogue that "she's mine".
Reaching the "basement" door and about to be free of this horrific nightmare happening in real life, it slams shut in her face. Elisa desperately tries to open it as she sees Demona's shadow approaching her which leads her to remember in the moment, the key! She pulls it out and puts it in the lock, only for her hope and relief to be instantaneously dashed when it breaks off.
Having no other choice as Demona is now dangerously close to her, Elisa uses a hole at the bottom of the door as her escape. Throwing the evidence that got her into this in the first place out through first, she goes straight through next.... but gets stuck when her ass and hips aren't big enough and as Elisa struggles more than ever, it's way too late. Demona has already reached her, for the first time here speaks by taunting Elisa as she's still trying to get through and then comments that this human's bottom is a thing of beauty on par with hers.
Demona lunges forward and sinks her teeth straight into the right side of Elisa's ass cheek as the latter screams in pain on the outside.
The camera hard cuts to the outside of St. Damien's Cathedral to show that Elisa's screams are just simple mere faints amongst the noises in New York.
The End (it isn't, it's just a scene in the middle but you get the point or what I'm saying)
What's the "evidence"?
Who are the other creature women?
How does their deformed uvula tie into this?
You'll just have to see for yourself if this idea I have for a flat-out Gargoyles animated reboot film ever happens and sees the light of day cause where's the fun in just telling you or anyone else who reads it everything about it?
Top it all off even though this is her introduction, Demona isn't the main antagonist of the movie. She's the TRITAGONIST.
I can honestly picture Salli Richardson and Marina Sirtis loving what they're reading with this in the actual fucking script.
