💎 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗺! Druidic Shape Charms
Wondrous item, very rare (requires attunement by a druid) ___ These small wooden charms are carved in the shape of recognizable creatures. Each one is about three inches tall and can fit into the top of the charm below. If you have multiple charms, they collectively count as a single magic item for the purposes of determining how many items you can attune to. When found, the creature type associated with the charm is random. Roll a d8 and use the table below to determine what charm you find. While a charm is on your person, you can use an action to expend two uses of your Wild Shape to transform into a creature other than a beast, following the normal rules for Wild Shape with the following changes. The type of creature you can transform into is determined by the charms you have. The challenge rating of the creature must be no more than half your druid level, rounded down, and the maximum amount of time you can remain transformed is 10 minutes. | d8 | Charm |

Folklore Fact - Gryphons/Griffins
Gryphons, griffins, griffons, however you prefer to spell it (I personally use gryphon) - let's talk their folklore and mythology!
Tumblr media
(Attic pottery depicting a satyr and a griffin and an Arimaspus from around 375-350 BC, Eretria.)
You probably already know the common popular culture concept of a gryphon: a big, vicious beast that attacks people and probably eats them and/or carries people away to its nest to feed them to its babies. Not much about it has changed in legend, though in a lot of popular culture today, it has seemed to lose its divinity. Gryphons - griffins, whatever you prefer - have quite the robust history, like so many creatures of myth and folklore. Unlike some, however, they have changed very little over time.
Note that this article a general overview of concepts, not a detailed history.
Let's start with etymology, because I just love that stuff. The word "griffin" comes from the Greek word "gryps," which referred to a dragon or griffin and literally meant "curved [or] hook-nosed." Late Latin spelled it "gryphus," a misspelling of grypus, a Latinized version of the Greek (source: https://www.etymonline.com/, one of my favorite websites).
Griffins are said to have the head and wings of an eagle and body of a lion. They may or may not also have pointed ears, depending on the depiction (they more often did, overall, though the griffin of Crete is a notable exception). They were said to guard the gold in the mountains of the north, specifically the mountains of Scythia. The one-eyed Arimaspian people rode on horseback and attempted to steal the griffins' gold, causing griffins to nurture a deep hatred of and hostility toward horses.
Tumblr media
A Scythian pectoral, thought to have been made in Greece, depicting - among other things - griffins slaughtering horses. Griffins really, really hate horses.
Tumblr media
The famous griffin in the palace of Knossos at Crete, from the Bronze Age (restored).
Griffins appear in truly ancient civilizations, not only Greece but also ancient Egypt and civilizations to the east, including ancient Sumeria. Griffins were later said to also dwell in India and guard gold in that region, and they continued to appear in art throughout ancient Persia, Rome, Byzantium, and into the Middle Ages throughout other regions such as France; they were depicted in ancient Greece with relative frequency and occasionally of considerable importance.
Griffins appeared in many ancient Greek writings, including Aristeas in the 7th century BC. Herodotus and Aeschylus preserved and continued these writings in the 5th century BC, including lines such as,
"But in the north of Europe there is by far the most gold. In this matter again I cannot say with assurance how the gold is produced, but it is said that one-eyed men called Arimaspoi (Arimaspians) steal it from Grypes (Griffins). The most outlying lands, though, as they enclose and wholly surround all the rest of the world, are likely to have those things which we think the finest and the rarest." Herodotus, Histories 3. 116. 1 (trans. Godley) (Greek historian C5th B.C.), source: https://www.theoi.com/Thaumasios/Grypes.html (a wonderful site)
Physical descriptions of the griffin were not commonplace until some later works, and even then, their appearance wasn't always agreed upon. Even the notion of griffins having wings was sometimes disputed. Some scholars even got pretty wild, claiming griffons had no wings at all but instead skin-flaps that they used to glide. They apparently hated awesome things, so it turns out there were always boring people who thought they knew everything, wanted to explain everything "logically," and generally assume they were the smartest ever while also ruining mystique. They would make great scientists today.
Griffins were, however, often said to be holy in nature. They were referred to as the "unbarking hounds of Zeus" by Aeschylus, who warned others never to approach them. Gryphons were also considered sacred to several gods, including prominently Apollo, who was said to depart Delphi each winter, flying on a griffon (griffin, gryphon, etc, I keep swapping this around, I know; my brain spells it differently because I've read way too many sources), and he also is occasionally depicted as hitching griffins to his chariot in addition to riding one. This was particularly prominent in the cults of Hyperborean Apollo, one of the many endless and fascinating cults of ancient Greece.
Tumblr media
Medieval bestiary depiction of a griffin slaughtering a horse.
Even by the Middle Ages, gryphons still hated and slaughtered horses and guarded gold, elements that certainly persisted throughout their legends. They also killed men and carried them away to their nests, similar to the manner in which Aeschylus warned people to stay away from gryphons even back when. We can obviously assume griffons were never cuddly, so that isn't much of a change.
Griffins also did not entirely lose their divine relations even into the Middle Ages. Christianity often used positive portrayals of griffins to represent and uphold certain positive tenets of Christian faith; likewise, they became important symbols of medieval heraldry, used to represent a Christian symbol of divine power, as well as general courage, strength, and leadership, especially in a military sense. The depiction of the griffin as a powerful and majestic creature - killing horses and men or not - throughout its history is no doubt because they are a combination of two beasts often considered noble symbols of bravery, power, and divinity: the lion and the eagle, kings of land animals and birds, respectively.
That's a general overview! As you can see, griffins aren't always so bad, at least not compared to some of the other creatures out there from folklore and myth.

I love reading source material for disney movies. I just read Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and it's just like. "Holy shit was that a heartslabyul reference? Is that where twst got it from???"
Haven't watched the movies in years but I love the book. You know why I really love the book? There are charcters that didnt show up in the movie and I can make OCs!
In the book, the one who escorts Alice to the "who stole the tarts" trial (refrence) is a gryphon. Which is kind of like the queen of hearts pet? And I like him, so I made an oc.
His name is Geode, he's a (held back) third year in heartslabyul, and he's from the queendom of Roses. He got held back because he found lessons dreadfully boring and thought they took to long, so he never payed attention and got held back. He likes to sing, dance, and tell stories, as long as they don't get boring.
He's 19 years old.
He's a gryphon fae.
Tall. Tall as hell. About 6'4.
Literally eagle eyed. They're very pretty and would be a little scary his his personality wasn't. Like that.
His best friend is twisted from the mock turtle (I haven't really worked him out yet)
His hair is... he cuts it in the bathroom at night or he just pays Mock Turtle™ to cut it for him, but that doesn't really work out very well cause MT is always crying about something. It's layered but the layers are very choppy. His hair comes out in feather like tuffs though so it looks more artfully messy rather than a straight up abomination. It goes just beyond his shoulder blades.
Spend most of his day taking naps for chilling in the sun with MT, waiting for him to stop crying for 5 seconds so Geode can ask to copy his ancient curses homework.
He's basically a strange combination of leonas lazy habits and floyd attention span but it somehow all flies under Riddles radar. Mostly.
I've never actually read Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, though I think I listened to an audio book of Through the Looking Glass when i was younger? It's on my list to read for this year though, I owe it to myself as both a Lolita and a twst fan. The idea of the queen having a Griffon pet is interesting σ( ̄、 ̄=) Poor Mock Turtle I hope he has access to tissues. I feel like Geo is getting collared on the daily, maybe he and Ace can have a little competition to see who gets away with the most shit.
I did a little doodle based off of your description, but i'm gonna put it under the cut since he's not mine yk?
Tumblr media
He looked too soft and pretty until I drew his eyes, then he actually got a bit scary. I made his ears look like that since I thought a bird like fae would be similar to FFXIV Suzaku in her human form
Tumblr media
I hope you do more with him! He sounds very fun!

Drunken stories
Prompt: family
Pairing: Eskel x reader
Word count: 296
Tumblr media
Rambunctious laughter echoes around the main room well after the sun goes down, ale and warm stew tossed about in dramatic hand gestures in even more dramatic retellings of various over told war stories that Lambert and Coen have spiced up in an effort to impress you. Grinning widely, you watch them with earnest, eyes sparkling in the low light of the fire, shadows dancing up the walls creating the perfect ambiance as the stillness of winter settles around you. Lambert fumbles the detail again, looking to coen for a lead.
Snickering you look up, eyes meeting your favorite pair of golden irises, unable to hide your smile. Chuckling, Eskel settles in next to you, sliding your mug of fresh ale before taking a sip of his own.
“Hey there,” you hum, taking a sip. Grinning down at you, he hums back.
“Are we on the Griffon yet?” you shake your head.
“Dragon,” you offer, watching as Coen and Lambert bicker over the telling of the story.
“They’re full of shit,” he muses, hiding his laughter behind his ale when Lambert whacks Coen.
That isnt right, you dumb sack of dragon piss.
“I knew I smelt something off.” you hum, nose scrunching in distaste, the look melting into a smile when Eskel no longer tries to contain his laughter, pressing his lips to the crown of your head. Melting, you lean into his touch, humming at the warmth that greets you.
Your moment is cut short by two huffs and a whine.
“We are trying to tell a story here,” rolling your eyes, you nod to them.
“Continue on about the fearsome dragon,” you state, motioning for them to go ahead. They pause and frown, stumbling a bit drunkenly.
“I thought we were on the Griffon.”

Shallot gold great ape rampage ends wgen weiss yells at him making him go super saiyan 4 for first time
A horrific roar erupted throughout the snowy Tundra outside of Atlas, a giant, golden-furred ape in familiar blue armor rampaged. Attacking friend and foe alike, Shallot ran rampant, after looking at the moon and transforming into a Golden Oozaru. The monstrous beast's transformation was a ploy by Cinder, knowing that seeing an ally would trigger a great sense of dread/demoralization; a potent magnet for the Grimm. Flying Beringel, Lancers, Griffons, Megoliaths, and Nevermore attacked Team RWBY and the Atlesian Forces that were in the area.
If some unlucky soldier wasn't attacked by the nightmarish creatures, they found themselves thrown or crushed by the rampaging Shallot. He roared, pounding his chest uncontrollably, a sign of him having lost his rationality. The golden ape swatted away airships and flying Grimm that got too close to him. He turns his attention to the floating kingdom of Atlas, opening his maw and an ominous greenish-yellow Ki Sphere begins to form.
"SHALLOT!!" Weiss Schnee screamed at him, as she rode on one of her Summons, the Queen Lancer. "STOP! LOOK AT WHAT YOU'RE DOING!!"
Hearing the voice of the former heiress stopped him from charging the blast, which would've ended the floating city. Shallot turns his head to Weiss, staring at her with those crimson, pupilless eyes. The white-haired Huntress sat on her mount, gesturing to the carnage taking place. Meanwhile, the rest of Weiss' team was fighting the Fall Maiden, who was besting them one by one and her main focus was Ruby.
"You're doing what Cinder wants," Weiss pleaded to him, which caused the beast to turn his gaze to the fight between the trio and the aforementioned madwoman; witnessing Yang being slashed by the woman's Grimm Arm. "Do you really want to help her? Help Salem?!"
Blinking, as if rational thought began to return to the Saiyan. The Oozaru growled, then roared as he became surrounded by a blinding bright light. Meanwhile, Ruby clashed the blade of Crescent Rose against Cinder's blades of Midnight. The young Huntress was moved back towards a cliff inch by inch. Then, the one-eyed woman grabbed the scythe and plunged it firmly into the snow. Cinder knocked Ruby off of her feet, grabbing her by her throat with her human hand.
"See what you did to me, brat!?" Cinder raises her Grimm Claw, fire erupting from the edges of her lips. "To make things fair, an eye for an eye."
"Makes the whole world blind," a baritone but familiar voice spoke up, grabbing the black-skinned claw. "Somethin' Weiss said to me."
"What?!" The Fall Maiden turns to the interloper, only to be punched off the cliff. Ruby is free, falling onto her knees, looking up towards her savior.
It was Shallot, but he was shirtless, his body covered in crimson fur and his spiky hair longer and unruly than before. He gazed down at her with gold eyes, surrounded by red lines. Somehow, the warrior still has his gleaves, shorts, and boots. Ruby rubs her eyes as Shallot takes notice of a more enraged Cinder, using her abilities to float and surround herself in fire.
"How about ya pick on somebody ya own size, witch!"

THE WHOLE SET
Complete.
Now for some interesting facts!
Their father is an Abyssinian who found the four of them as young foals/hatchlings and raised them as his own, teaching them that even though they're different species they are are still brothers. They all currently reside in Manehatten but dream of exploring the entirety of Equestria someday.
Cereb
- Due to being raised by Splinter and being around his brothers he learned to share love naturally and was one of the first Changelings in Equestria to unlock their true form at an early age.
- He is not at all embarrassed by his appearance and willingly goes out in public in his true form. The only time he shapeshifts is for fun, on missions or in order to protect his brothers.
- Because of Splinter's little knowledge on most species he didn't know what Cereb was and it wasn't until later on that Cereb made the discovery himself.
- His carapace has sustained multiple injuries and prefers to wear purple-painted titanium covers when in battle. He only flies if absolutely neccessary. When fighting the Shredder his covers were destroyed, his carapace was scratched and one of his wings was nearly torn.
Defty
- Defty changes his mane and tail's appearance regularly but prefers keeping it fluffy and dyeing the ends in different colors.
- Due to his horn's smaller size he tends to overwhelm himself often. It's only when he's utilizing his kusari-fundo or nunchuks that he can tap into a more hidden and stronger power.
- At some point the group leave the city to learn more about themselves. While his three brothers travel to different locations for a month to discover powers and information on themselves they weren't aware of, Defty enrolls in a particular school to better learn about his magic only to be eyed by none other than Princess Twilight.
- Due to Defty's higher affinity with magic his destiny is sealed as a future alicorn.
Floodflasher
- Flasher's feathers shine with a slick sheen that reflects light particularly well and also aids in keeping his body mostly waterproof as well as aerodynamic. He naturally loves the water but never quite knew why, thinking he was some kind of messed of Griffon.
- Upon leaving to discover more about himself he learns of his true abilities at Mount Aris and returns home to his brothers with a shard of the Pearl of Transformation to show them his new abilities as a seapony.
- During the final showdown with Shredder, Flasher gains the ability to slice portals through the air with his wings.
- After gaining these new powers his eyes and markings tend to glow more in the darkness.
Claymoore
- Clay is the largest of the four yet still has room to grow as he's only a teen.
- While not a true dragon he's what's known as a Drake, a wingless dragon, particularly with an affinity to the earth itself.
- When using his Ninpō not only can he grow to larger sizes he is also able to project a pair of wings from his back.
Tumblr media
- After traveling to the Dragon Lands Clay finds himself incredibly out of place. It isn't until later that he discovers he's more in tune with the earth's surface than he is with the heat residing within it.
- He regularly bathes in water and sometimes sleeps in thick mud puddles.
- Despite his large stature and imposing appearance...he's very kind to ponies that need the help. He discovered a deeper kindness while visiting Ponyville.

((I'm finally back with part 2 of this post for @illusivesoul! Sorry that this took so long again, friend! 😅))
Pairing: Morrigan/Niamh Cousland/Bethany Hawke
AU: The Poets Must Be Out for Blood
---
Kieran was a blessed boy.
Curiosity had originally surrounded him during his initial appearance in court. He'd been a mere babe then, balanced on his mother's hip as he idly gummed on the wing of a stuffed griffon toy while he stared with wide-eyed wonder at Orlais' marble and gilded halls.
Morrigan drew no end of suspicion and fear with her presence. She was an extension of the Empress' power and so was capable of sowing fear into enemies and the occasional unruly ally alike. Her son, however, was quite the opposite in demeanor. Even with his youth, he had somehow drawn several prominent members within and without the empire into his orbit.
Knight-Enchanter Bethany had been a fixture within the Imperial Court for the better part of a decade, serving less an advisory position to Celene as her mentor Madame de Fer did but was no less a protector. She also seemed to have some familiarity with Morrigan--one that hadn't been denied but neither woman seemed willing to elaborate further upon. Her protection had also extended to Kieran, for she often watched the boy when business required the Arcane Advisor's--admittedly exceptional--expertise elsewhere on the Empress' behalf.
It wasn't odd to find the two wandering about the Royal Gardens in the early afternoon, either strolling through the sprawling landscape, his small hand clasped excitedly in hers, or gathering herbs within it as he focused on the task with child-like determination.
At the end of the day, Kieran was always delivered safely back to his mother's side by the ever gentle and watchful Knight-Enchanter. The process was repeated on enough of a regular basis that those within the Imperial Court began speculating upon the relationship between the two women, especially when the boy had grown old enough to form words. It was perhaps no surprise at all when he had eventually taken to calling the Knight-Enchanter Maman--the Orlesian name for one's mother.
That, of course, had set a number of tongues wagging among the nobility. Speculation began anew with fervent intensity, especially as they turned their attention to Kieran's physical features. His eyes were the perfect mirror to his mother's--a distinct and piercing gold--but while his hair was the same dark shade, it was... different in texture. While it wasn't quite a match to Bethany's tighter curls either, it was at least closer to hers in appearance than Morrigan's own.
As both women were powerful mages, it didn't seem so farfetched an idea they might have conceived him together using magic. Thus, the mystery of Kieran's absent "father" seemed to have been solved.
...at least until another two seasons had passed.
---
"Sire!"
The word rang across the promenade with barely-contained enthusiasm as the toddler took off from his mother's side and that of his Knight-Enchanter guardian to run toward the figure standing in the midst of the curious crowd.
The woman in question wore the familiar blue and silvers of the Grey Wardens. The intricately-crafted steel pauldron that sat atop her right shoulder--depicting a griffon with its wings extending upward--indicated her prestigious rank among the Order while the fur mantle of the cloak upon her opposite shoulder designated her Fereldan heritage. Even beneath the light of the mid-autumn day, however, there was a specter-like quality to her eyes with how pale they were--a paleness that was further enhanced by... familiar feathery tresses framing her face. Granted, one eye was half-obscured by an ink-black fringe.
...Not unlike Kieran's own forelock in appearance, some realized, utterly mystified.
"Hello, my Little Lord," she said, scooping the boy up into her arms when he was within reach, their kinship all too apparent now beneath the many watching eyes. "Have you been behaving for your mother and Bethany while I've been away?"
A tittering giggle met her inquiry as he wrapped his arms around her neck, tucking his face against it as if to hide the sound of his mirth. A dark brow arched at the gesture, but there was little denying her indulgent smile as she languidly strolled toward the women in question.
"Your laughter tells me 'no,' which means I'll hear no end of your activities from them both soon enough..."
Although seldom a seen presence in Orlais, those who knew anything of the Fifth Blight were familiar with Niamh Cousland--younger sister to the Hero of Ferelden and was also the country's own Constable of the Grey.
Like both Bethany and Morrigan, she was another powerful mage--one who was very capable of tearing the heavens asunder if rumors were to be believed. The watching nobility couldn't help but think them to be true as they felt the aura radiating from her--less the respective spring breeze and burning heat of summer of the Knight-Enchanter and Arcane Advisor and more akin to rolling thunder enrobed in a winter's kiss.
The theory they'd had regarding Kieran's parentage was then further turned on its head as they regarded the three women--clearly comfortable and content in one another's presence.
Had his actual conception been borne of the Arcane Advisor and the Warden-Constable, or was he perhaps an... intriguing combination of the three?
Either theory filled them with discomfort, for there had admittedly been discrete talk within the upper echelons of Orlais to use the boy against the Arcane Advisor, especially when the woman so easily foiled any subtle plots against Empress Celene. However, with the new evidence presented before them, it now seemed... an ill-advised idea at best. For the Warden-Constable whom had struck the killing blow against the Archdemon and the two women who held back the tides of darkspawn threatening to overwhelm them all... Well, what threat could a mere mortal soul hold in comparison?
So, yes, perhaps it was better that the boy was left alone when it came to any matters concerning The Game.

💎 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗺! Hellion’s Mask
Wondrous item, very rare (requires attunement) ___ The features of this three eyed mask magically move along with yours while you wear it. While wearing the mask, you have resistance to fire damage, and you can speak and understand Infernal. In addition, you can use your reaction to cast the “hellish rebuke” spell from the mask when you take damage from a creature that you can see within 60 feet of you. Once the spell has been cast from the mask, it can’t do so again until the next dawn. If you’re a tiefling, you gain the following benefits while wearing the mask: • When you cast “hellish rebuke” from the mask or through your Infernal Legacy trait, it is cast as a 3rd-level spell. If you cast it as a result of taking fire damage, it is cast as a 4th-level spell instead. • You can see normally in darkness, both magical and nonmagical, to a distance of 120 feet. • You can cast the “contact other plane” spell from the mask, but only as a ritual. The first time each day that you contact a fiend in this way, you automatically succeed on the Intelligence saving throw against the spell’s maddening effects. 𝘾𝙪𝙧𝙨𝙚. This mask is cursed, and attuning to it extends the curse to you if you’re not a tiefling. While cursed, you can’t remove the mask unless you’re targeted by the “remove curse” spell or similar magic. While wearing the mask, you have disadvantage on attack rolls against fiends and on saving throws against their spells and special abilities. ___ ✨ Patrons get huge perks! Happy healing post-DA:I things for my Hawke and company
because if anyone ever deserved that soft epilogue it's these guys
Hawke giving Merrill a griffon feather from Weisshaupt
Hawke getting a new mabari puppy (maybe also kittens? can we work kittens into this as well?). Hawke and companions playing with and petting said puppy. said puppy falling asleep in people's laps. it dozes off on fenris' head once and he just lies there and lets it with great equanimity until it wakes again. varric and isabela try to teach it wicked grace. it's better at it than anders was.
Bethany can live at home now ;_______; the last of the Hawke family finally getting to actually live in their ancestral home together, after all their hopes and hard work in act one ;_________________________________; she could get married if she wanted to, she could have kids, she could have whatever part of a 'normal life' she feared she never would and her magic, not having to hide anymore ;__________________________________________; (a big thank u to leliana the murderpope my best homie <3)
Bethany bringing some of the apprentices she's taken under her wing and Merrill bringing some of the alienage kids who're in extra tricky circumstances, and the big empty house is not so empty anymore
Hawke training Bethany's apprentices and Merrill's wards in physical combat -- "My father always said that the real trick of magic is knowing when not to use it. Doesn't mean you can't throw a punch about it tho". the kids sometimes gang up on him when they're playfighting and bethany looks on like :') because he pretends to be vanquished & defeated, alas proud warriors your strength combined is too great, in exactly the same way he did with her and carver when they were little
Fenris and Hawke friendly sparring! Isabela watches while drinking rum.
Hawke hanging around the Viscount's office, pretending to be there just to make fun of Varric (and annoy Aveline let's not forget) but actually helping out unceasingly. don't tell anyone tho he has a reputation to uphold as a rich idiot with no day job even though he's been doing every fucking job in kirkwall for like a decade now, ssssh he has to feel like he's still fooling someone
First Wintersend party at the Hawke estate where most of the gang is together again. (My canon always has Hawke send Anders away at the end of DA2 and sometimes there's a romance involved for double heartbreak too so y'know. bittersweet there but at least the rest of the family gets to be together again.) Varric and Hawke mutually pretend they don't notice the other one getting teary-eyed during the dinner because sometimes that's what friendship is
kirkwall book club? kirkwall book club. fenris hasn't gotten to read a lot of books yet, so it sort of starts as people giving him recs, evolves to a covert war among the gang to get their fave books/series read first, and then it keeps escalating from there until they're all fully in it. isabela frequently derails it into friendfiction night.
what if merrill got to do some gardening. huh. what about that. I just think that would be nice.
varric writing some black fox stories just because he knows hawke likes them ;__; (you find the black fox codex entry in DA2 in Hawke's mansion and one of the DLC outfits you can get for them is said to have belonged to him as well, so I like to think Hawke has a weak spot for that Robin Hood/Zoro-esque thing deep down lol it would explain a lot about his life)
just varric and hawke hanging out honestly. varric writing while hawke lounges around in his room. every time he has to name a character or something and gets stuck he throws out the basic concept and hawke provides a name without missing a beat or indeed looking up from whatever he's doing. it's always brilliant or awful or brilliantly awful. varric does his shitty little he he he laugh and/or offers hawke his hand in marriage yet again and goes back to writing. all is right in the world, if only just for a while.

Finished End of Dragons
So I finished End of Dragons' main campaign last night. And I have to say I rather like the journey so far. I know I didn't do this for Path of Fire or anything else, so I'm gonna lump that in here too.
One of my favorite things with the story is how my character's voice has evolved (Sylvari Male). It pretty much went from bright eyed and bushy tailed to exhausted/just done with it all. There are, of course, upbeat and hilarious moments but during season 3 and Path of Fire, every time he got a call from one of his guildmates it sounds like he's saying 'What now? -sigh-' It then turns a bit less exhausted going into EoD, and a little more 'Commander-esque'.
Mounts are fun, I like there are different ones for different tasks. Griffon is probably my favorite so far--if only because it was a pain in the ass to unlock. I'm holding judgement on the skyscale if only because I have no masteries unlocked for it. Base flying is...painful.
Path of Fire (and the season leading up to it) was amazing. I loved almost every minute of it. Aurene is a sweetheart! The landscapes were beautiful! And going back to Elona was so much fun. Especially since there were things I recognized! Like Livia and Koss! The third sassy comment from the mysterious Shining Blade person you helped with Eye of Jathir I knew right away who she was. And I was stoked! And poor Koss! Although it was hilarious that he was so annoying with his sass and backtalk that Joko ordered him to stay in the cave. XD (On a side note, Fuck Kormir. It should have been Koss.)
Season 4 and Icebrood saga. Can I say Emotional Damage much? ;-; But it hurt so good! The whole thing with what happened to Blish. And then Taimi. Taimi was like ripping my heart out--my friend who's also playing has not gotten to this part and he adores Taimi. Like 'Must protect Taimi at all costs' type adore. I'm keep mum about it, but ooh boy, I'll know when he gets to it. (He's getting to the part in Season 3 where we find out that killing the dragons like we are is not the best thing for the planet.) And then there's Braham, with everything he'd been through. ;-;
I loved having Canach with us during PoF, little sad that he wasn't in EoD as much--but it's understandable. I'm still on the fence about the new VO, but I think Matt does a good job at bringing the sass. I do hope I get to see more of him for SotO
End of Dragons was...it was ok. I liked all the characters from it. The story had it's moments, but the story overall was kind of meh for me. Just my opinion, obviously. Rama was a gem, and I'm glad to see we get some more of him going into the extra content. It was awesome to see a lot of the places from Factions and hear about a few people from then. Actually, I wonder if there are any extra dialogues for Revenants, especially if they use Shiro as a stance. Would be interesting to see.
One thing I really would like to shout out is the representation ArenaNet has put in the game. Jory and Kas. Caithe and Faolin. Yao. Hell, random NPC conversations. Nothing is made a bit deal bout any of it (except some people getting their panties in a twist, but they don't matter). They just exists, like anyone else in the world. I really could go on and on, but this post is long enough as it is. lol

OC Approval Gift Tag Game
Tagged by @scribbledquillz forever ago but i'm finally doing it! These are the high-approval gifts for Novhen (technically companion!Novhen who isn't a Tabris anymore which is half relevant for the second one) that will trigger conversation
Garahel's Oath
Liberated from the archives of Weisshaupt, this amulet was given to the hero of the Fourth Blight, Garahel, after his Joining. A cast-iron griffon holds the pendant in its claws.
In the conversation that follows, Novhen will admit to being unable to shake a deep-seated loneliness ever since he joined the Wardens. He misses living in the alienage. He wonders if Garahel ever felt similarly. If the Warden is an elf, he'll remark that at least he's not as alone as he was before. Otherwise, he'll admonish himself. Garahel's sister fought beside him, so of course he wasn't alone.
Rivaini Dar'misu -> Har'vissal
(Name changes after gifting.)
The geometric pattern on its hilt bears resemblance to a many-eyed wolf. The blade is enchanted to make it difficult to maintain focus on it when not holding it.
Novhen recognizes the dagger and questions the Player about where they found it. Once he finishes grilling them, he reveals that the blade had been passed down through his family for generations. It was thought to have been lost after his mother's death, and he didn't think he'd ever get to see it again.
(Also, the blade's name translates to "trespasser" >:3 The har root i took from a couple pre-existing words, but the vissal i had to make up)
