rewatching the entire x men 97 so far

personal recap (mostly morph sence but yeah) from me

episode one

now that I have watched (most) of tsa having morphs intro be them impersonating the professor is really cool as that has been both how evil morph was first reintroduced to the team in TSA and how he helped the team out in the last episode of TSA (also an reintroduction)

morph turning into jean to tease logan is also nice as the last (and only?) time they have done that in TSA was to hurt him and now its just teasing

its a neat parallel of how much they have healed as a group since then

the jet scene between logan and cyclops might be my favorite so far idk logan just seems more... person like? idk I just think the scene is very good and I am sad that logan is not more like that in the rest of the series

in the sentinel fight everybody gets a fight scene against the sentinels EXCEPT morph whos there yes and breathing heavy in the group shot before storm show up BUT HE DOESNT GET A FIGHT SCENE WHICH HE ARGUABLY IS THE MOST DESERVING OF THEM ALL TO HAVE

so I now propose that morph is still awful at dealing with their ptsd from the sentinels cause they thought the sentinels are gone and is bad at going to therapyyy so they just kinda froze up yes this is now the canon explanation for this The team were protecting morph who was doing their best bc they are family *sob*

County fair

you're twelve years old and you're sitting on the bench at the county fair. you don't play football. you're not boyish enough for a boys' team and too weak for a girls' team (you wouldn't make it to a boys' team anyway)

the mean kids play without you, you sit alone on a bench and you watch the girl laugh with her friends. you watch her smile and try to remember her face because you're not sure if you'll see her on vacation.

i can tell you, you won't. she will be busy or sick or out of town all summer. it doesn't matter which of these excuses you believe, they are all false. she just doesn't want to see you, but you don't know it yet.

you don't know it yet, you're blissfully unaware, and when your mom asks if you had fun at county fair, you say yes. you are strangely excited but you don't know why, all you did was sit on the bench and watch the girl having fun.

is it infatuation or fascination? does it have something to do with the fact that she's one of the few who treats you like a human being? is it the summer heat that makes you not think straight? does the world make no sense? you'll never know, that's what i can tell you.
