Chapter Five | Masterlist
He’s ripped from a peaceful slumber by his work phone ringing on the night table. Y/N asleep on his chest, he tries to reach for it without waking her, successfully he answers with a groggy whisper, “hello?”
“Morning sleepy head?” Emily laughs, “it’s 10 am, Reid, why are you whispering?”
“I’m with my girlfriend, she’s still asleep,” he realizes he’s never told the team flat out that he was seeing someone, they all guessed but none of them had really asked.
“Oh,” Emily seems just as shocked that he said it. “We have a local case, I need you here for the geo profile and then you can go back to your mandated break.”
“I’ll be in, in 30,” he replies before hanging up.
“Can I come?” She whispers against him, obviously awake from all the commotion.
“Sure,” he shrugs, “if you don’t mind seeing and hearing about whatever horrific thing happened this time.”
“I don’t,” she sits up and stretches, “come on Mulder, we’ve got a case to crack.”
He laughs, “sure thing Scully.”
—
He’s nervous in the elevator on the way up to the BAU, Y/N on the other hand is so excited she’s practically vibrating. She’s dressed for the part, with her little visitor's badge and Spencer’s hand held tightly in her own, she basically drags him towards the bullpen when the doors open.
“Spence!” Luke calls for him, Tara and Matt turn around with big smiles to see him. “Who’s this?”
“Uh,” Spencer swallows sharply, “this is my girlfriend, Y/N this is Luke, Matt and Tara.”
She lets go of his hand to shake theirs, he watches as they all smile and introduce themselves to her, causing the rest of the team to notice the new person in the room and rush over. They have a lot of questions, they’re all very surprised she’s as young as he was when he started at the bureau and that he’s actually bringing her around.
When he finds out what’s going on, he’s really glad he brought her in. There’s been a few bomb threats in D.C, one of which is the building across from Y/N’s apartment. They’re trying to keep hysteria to a minimum, he knows he wouldn’t have been able to tell her if he didn’t bring her, he also knows he would have broken protocol to get her out of there.
She sits at his desk while he works, looking through all his things for a while before Spencer hears a familiar voice in the bullpen. Penelope was called in for backup, making eye contact with Y/N as soon as she walked in and cheering. “Oh! You’re here!”
Spencer leaves the briefing room, abandoning the geo-profile to introduce Penelope to the girl she helped him find, he runs down the stairs and wraps his arms around her.
“Spencer,” she relaxes into his embrace and holds him close, “I’ve missed you so much.”
When Spencer pulls away, the smile on his face is remarkable, “Penelope, this is Y/N,” he says her name and Penelope automatically knows who she is.
He told her right after he bought her whole Wishlist, Penelope has known about her the longest and yet she’s never been able to meet her. She turns to Y/N with a smile, “are you a hugger?”
Y/N stands and wraps her arms around her, “I think I owe you a very big thank you,” she whispers in Penelope’s ear.
“For what?”
“Teaching grandpa over here how to use the internet,” she teases him, “and for your helpful tips, he was the nicest one I met on there.”
“You’re very welcome,” Penelope pulls back with another smile, holding Y/N’s face in her hands, “and thank you.”
Y/N pulls her into another hug and now everyone is watching, Spencer knows he’s going to be bombarded with questions eventually but for now, Y/N is going with Penelope to her office and Spencer has a map to look at while he stresses himself out.
Matt, Tara and Emily head to the scene to join JJ, Rossi and Will, leaving Luke with Spencer in the briefing room.
“Can I ask?”
Spencer nods, “go ahead.”
“How did you meet her? Was she one of your students?”
He doesn’t know how to answer, not because he’s ashamed of it or of her, rather because he doesn’t know if she’ll want people to really know. “Penelope helped me get online to meet people, I made an account on a sugar daddy website thinking it would be easier to pay someone who doesn’t know me to hang out rather than try and make a new friend.”
“That’s smart,” Luke nods along as he listens. “She seems really cool.”
“She’s the best,” he smiles. “She’s really smart and talented, she’s an author actually, her books coming out in January.”
“I’ll have to get a copy,” Luke smiles right back.
“Her publisher and I have actually planned a big birthday party slash final draft party, if you and the team want to come and have drinks and get to know her more, that would be really nice,” Spencer offers, knowing it’s about time they all celebrated something together.
“I’d love to come, and I’ll bring Penelope,” Luke’s just as excited as he is.
“I’m a little surprised you didn’t know already, being with Penelope and everything?”
He shrugs, “we don’t talk about work or really gossip about the team now that she’s not working here, it makes her a little sad that she left but she’s doing a lot better just coming in occasionally.”
“I didn’t think I’d like my months off at first, either, but now I’m also debating leaving,” he knows it's a lie. He’s already written his letter of recognition, he’s just waiting for the go-ahead from Y/N that they’re moving to California.
“16 years is a really long time to be doing this job,” he agrees, “I’m sure if you wanted to leave the bureau would offer you your full retirement package early, given everything you’ve been through for this country.”
Spencer nods, don’t let this job take your spark, you’re very wonderful, Luke, and I’d hate to see you lose it for the greater good.”
“My greater good is just down the hall,” he smirks, “I make the world a better place for the woman I love, she’s the reason I get up every day and come to work because I can’t wait to get home to her safely.”
Luke has always loved Penelope, it’s been very obvious, and yet she didn’t want really anything to do with him until Derek advised her to be nice. She was so busy thinking about all her other babies leaving the nest after Derek that she didn’t take the time to consider bringing in Luke to the nest for warmth and love as well.
“When are you asking her to marry you?”
Luke turns bashful, a slight blush on his cheeks as he stares at the table, “Christmas, it’s her favourite time of the year.”
“Have you talked to Derek?” Spencer only worries slightly, after what happened with Kevin he doesn’t want to see it happen to Luke.
“Nope, I’ve talked to her brothers though, we’re going to California again this year for Christmas and they all said they’d love to have me in the family,” Luke smiles, “the Garcias are my favourite.”
Spencer isn’t normally a hugger but he walks around the table and wraps Luke up, “I’m asking Y/N in a week.”
“No way?”
He nods, “she’s the greatest good I’m ever going to get.”
“Amen, brother.”
—
Penelope’s job was incredible, she was in awe as she watched her tap away at her keyboard and answer a million and one questions. She reminded her of Ned from Kim Possible and she knew if she said that to anyone she’d give away just how young she is.
She’s gotten a lot of looks, she knows people are talking about it and yet she doesn’t really care. There isn’t any malice behind the stares and the whispers, they all seem genuinely surprised that Spencer has a girlfriend over the fact she’s in her 20’s.
There’s a single dull moment and she turns to Y/N, “can I please have the juicy details, please,” she begs and it makes her feel giddy.
She’s never really had any girlfriends like this, and she certainly didn’t have anyone to tell about Spencer. “He’s the love of my life, I’m completely serious.”
Penelope squealed, “that’s all I’ve ever wanted for him, ugh this is so exciting! Are you guys serious? How long has it been?”
She nods, “not long, uh he got me this necklace a week or two ago and we’ve been moving pretty slow for his sake. In the last 10 months he’s become my bestie and I’ve convinced him to move in and he sleeps in my bed now and I love waking up beside him… he’s a real gentleman.”
“That’s good, he’s never been able to take the scenic route in life… I know you’re only here cause he trusts you and if he trusts you that means you know everything and if you know ever—“
“Yeah,” she cuts her off, “I know about all of it and everyone who’s hurt him and how he’s hurt himself but what’s more important is that it doesn’t phase me, he’s just a person trying to deal with the life he’s been given, we all are.”
Penelope wraps her up in a gentle hug, “he’s always needed someone like you.”
It makes her heartbreak just a tiny bit thinking about how as long he didn’t have anyone. Sure, he was surrounded by his friends at work and loved enough that they all brought him back home but he was never cared for the way she would have done it. There’s a weird maternal instinct that comes over her with Spencer and she knows exactly why, all she knows is she wants to love him and care for him for the rest of his life.
If she lives to be 100, she hopes he lives to be 116, because there isn’t a day she wants to spend on this earth where Spencer Reid isn’t alive and beside her.
She’s not going to cry in Penelope’s arms after just meeting her so she pulls back with a smile, “but what kind of juicy details are we talking? Cause I can’t embarrass him too bad…”
Penelope’s laugh is evil as she rubs her hands together, “a little birdie whose name rhymes with shmerek said he knows how to use that mouth for more than just talking…”
It makes her laugh almost a little too hard and she starts to feel her face heat up, she simply nods, “yeah, we haven’t gone all the way but from what’s happened so far, I can agree.”
Penelope turns in her rolling chair and laughs, “ugh that’s so great, I’m glad you’re having a good time— I mean I always thought Spencer would be good in bed after all the chats we’ve had about kinks and shit, he’s really educated, obviously, but I always knew that it would translate from paper to real-life very easily.”
“Oh totally,” she nods feverishly, “we talked about that before actually, virginity is simply a construct used to control women and make them feel pure or dirty, to feel like they can take something from a woman and yet virgins are so sexual and in tune with their needs and wants that they typically are good or at least know what to do from whatever porn they’ve consumed when it comes down to it. How the more in tune with someone's sexuality that they are the better they are in bed because they apply what they want to their partner and almost get off more on the fact someone is enjoying them than the fact they’re being pleasured.”
Penelope shakes her head with a loving smile, “you listen when he talks, you love every part of him and you’re beautiful… he really hit the jackpot.”
She brushes it off with a laugh, “I got pretty lucky with him too.”
Her phone rings before she can agree, answering with a cheerful tone, Spencer is on the other end, “do you have my beautiful girlfriend with you still?”
“Present,” she answers for herself, “are you still here, dad-Spence?”
She bites her lip and closes her eyes, fuck.
“Yeah, uh, I am, we think we got the actual building with the bomb, they’ve sent the team down there to clear it and check it out.”
“I’ll head back to the bullpen, then,” she stands and heads to the door, not wanting to face Penelope after almost calling him daddy right in front of her.
“Hey,” she calls to Y/N, “don’t be embarrassed. I get it, believe me, I’ve answered some calls in here with the dirtiest remarks to the completely wrong people. But, I’ll see you later?”
She smiles, “yeah, I’d love to see you again.”
In the bullpen, Spencer’s by his desk all alone. His teams cleared out and now it was just the office staff wandering around. She wraps her arms around his waist and rests her head on his back, “ready to go home?”
“Uh, not yet…” he turns to look at her, “I don’t want to bring you back to D.C unless the case is closed.” He looks nervous and she understands it perfectly.
“Okie Dokie, she smiles, leaning in for a hug to get close to his ear, “can we fuck in a storage closet to pass the time?”
He laughs but he takes her hand and he pretends to take her on a tour, he leads her down the hall and towards the filing room where he knows no one will be. “No one has really used this room in ages, since we went digital, and Penelope had all this stuff put online anyway.”
“So you can bend me over that table and rail me next time we come back?”
“Or?” She hears his playful tone and smirks to herself, letting him manhandle her hands behind her back as he bends her over a table, “I could fuck these big beautiful thighs of yours?”
“So only you can get off? Please,” She scoffs at him, wanting to piss him off to see where it gets her, wiggling her ass back against him as she does so.
He unbuttons her pants and drags them down her legs to leave her in just her thong, taking a handful of her ass and squeezing before laying a hard slap against her, she gasps at the feeling but also at the fact it was so loud.
“They’re going to hear you?!” She whispers with a disappointed tone.
“Isn’t that what you said you wanted? You wanted everyone to know only daddy can take care of you?” He uses her own words against her and she whines. “That’s what I thought.”
“No, but seriously,” she turns her head to look at him, “check my pocket.”
He does exactly that, finding one of her little bullet vibes in the front pocket of her jeans, “you planned this?”
“I knew we’d be having some kind of sex somewhere in this building,” she smirks. “Also my safe word is red but keep going.”
“Alrighty, then,” she can hear the smirk on his face as he thinks it over.
He takes his handcuffs out of his back pocket and cuffs her, “you know, it’s public indecency looking like this in here, technically it’s a federal offence and it’s my duty as a federal officer to make sure it doesn’t happen again.”
She swallows sharply, pushing back against his groin and gasping when her bare asscheek meets the cold metal of his gun in his holster. Sometimes she forgot he was a real FBI agent, sometimes it didn’t feel real to her because he was just her nerdy boyfriend and he never had any of his "cop props" with him… suddenly they weren’t just accessories to her anymore, he was actually a cop who just bent her over a table and cuffed her and now he’s going to fuck her "big beautiful thighs" as he called them.
“What’s the sentence, agent?” She plays along because damn he’s hot like this.
He presses his chest to her back as he leans in close to her ear, “It’s doctor, and you know that.”
He turns on the vibrator and rests it inside her underwear, right against her clit at the lowest setting, her thighs twitch at the feeling and all she wishes is that she had something to hold on to.
She whines again when she hears his belt buckle dangle and his zipper open, he grips his cock at the base and drags the head between her cheeks before slipping between her things with a sigh, “and it’s taking my time, you’re just going to have to, rather impatiently, deal with it.”
“Yes, doctor,” she closes her eyes and waits for the feeling of his cock between her legs but he doesn’t push in.
He places his feet on either side of hers so that she can't open her legs any further and finally, finally breaches her thighs. He groans at the drag of his cock against her skin as the vibrations from her panties continue to make her legs quake. She lets out a shaky breath and reaches for his shirt as he presses against her once more. Grabbing his tie instead, she pulls on it and he gasps for air.
“Sorry,” she mumbles with a smirk, not sorry at all for slightly choking him as she continues to hold his tie.
He swats her hands away from his tie and grips the cuffs to separate her hands, pushing them further up her back until it’s almost uncomfortable. The most uncomfortable thing about this was the fact he wasn’t inside of her, she felt so empty as she clenched around nothing. The stimulation on her clit was nice, the feeling of him taking her from behind is ungodly and yet he’s not in her. It’s the worst punishment in the whole world.
It was nowhere near enough to get her off and he knew that she wanted so much more that she wasn’t going to get, whining as he kept his thrusts at the same slow pace. It was agonizing, she squeezed her legs together more to tease him but he ended up liking it. There was nothing she could do for more, she was just going to have to let him take her, and that thought was what brought her closer.
“Please?” She begged, sounding just as desperate as she thought she would and not giving a single fuck.
“Please what?” He snaps his hips against her just a bit harder with each thrust.
She gasps again before biting her lip to hold back a moan, “finish in my mouth?” She begs once more, “please?”
He pulls off of her and yanks her off the table, turning her around, she drops to her knees without being told and opens her mouth immediately. He grips her by her hair and guides her towards his cock, slipping it past her lips and right down her throat.
He groans at the feeling, she closes her eyes for a moment to enjoy the feeling of his heavy cock in her mouth. Taking him more forcefully than ever before, he’s too caught up in the moment to realize he might be a little too rough but she also doesn’t mind. Breathing through her nose to stay calm she takes him as far as she can, pressing her nose to his pubes he can feel how hot her breath is as she struggles to breathe.
“Such a good girl,” he pulls her off so she can breathe for a moment, “you want my cum so bad don’t you?”
“Yes please, daddy,” she replies with a rasp in her voice that makes it obvious where he’s been.
She takes him in her mouth once more, sucking earnestly to get him closer and closer to the edge. He’s whining, pulling her hair and doing everything in his power not to thrust against her face, even though she’s okay with it.
She knows when he’s close because his cock always twitches in the same spot, it’s a tell-tale sign that he’s going to cum in a second. She applies more suction, running her tongue along the underside before taking him all the way once more just in time for him to cum right down her throat with each swallow.
He’s not quiet, anyone walking past the door will hear him panting and gasping, muttering good girl under his breath, he’s more fucked out by this blow job than she’s ever made him before. She can’t help but smirk as he pulls away and leaves her there on her knees, covered in spit and drool and unable to wipe her own mouth due to the fact she’s still fucking handcuffed.
She rests against his shoe, pressing the vibrator against her clit a little more, she twitches at how good it feels but it’s still not enough to get her off, and a part of her doesn’t want to.
He pulls her up to her feet and sits her down on the table he was just pretending to fuck her against. He attempts to spread her legs and get between them but she stops him, “leave the vibe where it is and let’s just go home?”
“You want to walk out of this building with a vibrator in your panties, and say goodbye to my co-workers and friends knowing you could cum anytime?”
She smirks, “yes, but I won't cum cause this pathetic toy isn’t as good at you.”
He clicks the button to turn it up a speed and she gasps, pushing against the feeling and moaning into it, “I’d like to see you try that.”
—
He takes her on the rest of the “tour” with that vibrator in her panties, she’s getting more and more flustered the more they look around. Eventually, he shows her the library, getting her alone in the back corner where he can talk to her without the risk of people knowing what’s going on.
“I can’t,” she whines as he presses her against the shelves, “please?”
“Please what?”
“Turn it off, daddy, I can’t take it anymore,” she grips his suit jacket tightly as she looks up at him with the eyes he can’t say no to.
“Mmm,” he hums, reaching into her pants to free her from the stimulation, she relaxes finally. “What do you think you deserve now?”
“Don’t wanna cum till we’re at home,” she whispers, “but you’ll have to make it quick because we have a flight to catch at 8.”
“Fuck,” he whispers like he forgot. “I hope we can get back into the apartment in time.”
“Why?”
“The bomb was in the basement of the building beside yours,” he admits and the whole facade fades, “that’s why I’m not taking you home yet.”
“That’s why you wanted to fuck me,” she whispers with a giggle. “You could have at least told me this was a ‘you almost died’ rush for you.”
“I didn’t want to say it like that,” he admits and a depression washes through his blood, he feels the low settle as he drops, “I’m sorry.”
“It’s okay,” she takes his face in her hands and makes him look her in the eyes, “I love you, I’m glad we’re both safe. Everything in there is replaceable, you and me aren’t. This is a really good thing, Spencer.”
He nods, doing what she’s told him so many times she wants him to do, telling her his thoughts so that he’s no longer haunted alone, “when I told my friend Derek about you, he said dating a younger woman means I’ll never have to worry about you dying of old age before me. That’s one of his fears being the same age as Savannah, but I’ve lost so many people I never even thought about getting old with you I’ve just wanted to keep this version of you safe and with me forever.”
“Penelope said she always wished you’d find someone like me, and my only thought was If I live to be 100, I hope you live to be 116 because there isn’t a day I want to spend on this earth where Spencer Reid isn’t alive and beside me,” he whispers with a smile, “but now I’m thinking if you live to be 100, I don’t want to go past 84.”
“You can’t say that,” he whispers, tears bubbling in his eyes, “what if I die tomorrow? I need to know you’re going to be fine and not end your wonderful existence because I’m not here anymore. You’re too wonderful to put all your worth on me.”
She doesn’t want to cry, she already looks like she’s been fucked and now she’s a mess, she pulls him into a kiss so he’ll stop talking and they can just be together, it was hard enough for her thinking he was going to die eventually, let alone him hypothesizing dying tomorrow.
She rests her forehead against his, “we always do this.”
“What?”
“It’s like orgasms open the emotions or something,” she snuffles which turns into a laugh, “do you think our kids are going to find it weird that you’re so much older than me?”
Everything takes him for a loop, “uh,” he struggles to find the words, pulling back and looking at her as her face drops, “I um—
“You don’t want kids anymore?” She looks genuinely saddened and he doesn’t know how to answer.
“I do,” he nods, “just—“
“Not with me?” She puts the words in his mouth.
“With you, just not yet,” he holds her by the shoulders, “I need more time with you before we have a kid, I need to love life and be in a good place and somewhere where I can focus all my attention on them, and I can’t yet.”
“I want a baby by 30,” she whispers before pressing her lips together awkwardly, “46 isn’t too old to be a dad, I’ve seen men become fathers at 80.”
He laughs as the anxiety leaves him, “a little California surfer baby wouldn’t be too bad.”
“Well, we fuck like rabbits, we might get there sooner than you planned,” she nudges him, “you’re a wonderful boyfriend, and if you don’t mind, I’d like for you to stay my boyfriend for a little longer? I’m not ready to be a wife or a mom and change my name when I just got it put on a published book.”
“I’ll change mine to yours,” he replies like it's nothing, “or keep yours and we’ll hyphenate the kid's names.”
“It’s plural now?” She teases him once more.
“Whatever you want, I’ll give it to you,” he assures her, “forever.”
“You’d pluck a star from the sky for me wouldn’t you, Doctor Y/L/N?”
He laughs at how it sounds but he kinda likes it. Her word choice is even funnier to him, however, because he’s actually gone out of his way to pluck a star for her. She has no idea, but her last present is a big one.
She struggled to get her own name on a book for so long, now there’s a star named after her, in the sky for everyone to see for the rest of time.

A/N: this is my first time writing for jj. please enjoy it bc im big soft for her rn (i will also say that about luke too)... this is day four of my 7fics 7days event for 1.2k followers ! Here is the masterlist for that! And here’s my main masterlist! Thank you all for the love and support!
also, thank you to @reidetic for proof reading this :)))
{***}{***}{***}
It was a normal day, right? I mean, that’s what I thought. My kids and I walked to the park after some chores, and after lunch. Nice fresh air, playing in the park, talking to other parents. Do people actually do that? Talking to other parents in the park? It’s been a while since I’ve actually gone to the park with my kids…
"Make sure you’re safe. And, if you need me, I’ll be sitting here," I pointed to the bench that held my backpack. My daughter looked up at me and nodded before running off. My son on the other hand was a little bit more apprehensive of leaving my side to go play. Part of me wondered if it had to do with all the other kids running around, playing with one another.
"What’s up, Buddy? Didn’t you want to come to the park?" I looked at him as I squatted to his height. He looked up at me and shrugged, not really telling me what was wrong. "Oh, c’mon, we’ve been to this park before." I sighed and looked at him while I gently ruffled his hair.
"Your sister wants to play with you, go on." I looked towards the park where my daughter was currently playing. It was a relief seeing her playing with the other kids, not by herself. But she was always quick to make new friends and play with new people. So it wasn’t that big of a surprise.
"Your son can play with my boys if he wants," a woman looked at me with a smile. I looked away from my child and towards a blonde woman who had two boys standing beside her. They looked to be about my son's age.
"You wanna play with them?" I looked back at my boy, resting a hand on his shoulder. I watched as he looked over at the two new boys, his little eyebrows furrowed together as his lips pouted out a bit. "C’mon they won’t bite."
"Well, Michael might…" the woman laughed as she looked between me and my boy. I looked back at her with a raised eyebrow. "They like playing superheroes," she was quick to add, clearly realizing her mistake.
"You love superheroes! You could be X-Men!" I clapped my hands together. My son looked up at me with furrowed eyebrows and shook his head. Over by the blonde woman I could hear her boys talking about something. I looked over at the three and raised an eyebrow. "Did I say something wrong?" I looked back at my son. He just looked at me, his eyes just staring at me like I did, indeed, say something wrong.
"How about," the woman spoke, looking between my boy and I, and then down at her boys, "You three go play superheroes, and when you’re all done, come back to us," she folded her arms over her chest as she looked down at the 3 boys. My son looked up at me with a cocked eyebrow, silently asking if I was totally fine with him going with 2 strangers.
"It’s okay, go on. I’ll be here. Have fun," I winked at him before standing upright myself. He looked over at the two other boys before running off with them.
"That was easier than I thought it would be," I laughed as I moved my backpack to the ground, before I sat on the bench.
"They love making new friends. But they can be a little… shy," she laughed as she stepped closer to the bench, "I would do anything for them," she smiled and nodded.
"Please, you can sit beside me." I chuckled as I gestured towards the empty space beside me.
"Jennifer… Jennifer Jareau," she smiled at me as she sat down beside each other on the park bench. I looked at her and nodded. "But you can call me JJ,"
"It’s nice meeting you, JJ," I smiled before giving her my name, "How old are your boys?" I looked over at the playground and spotted our boys playing together. It didn’t look like they were playing superheroes like JJ and I had both thought. It looked like they were playing pirates or something else.
"Henry is 9 and Michael just turned 6," JJ smiled at me as I looked back at her. "What about yours? How old is he?" she asked, looking out at all the kids.
"He just turned 5 a few months ago. And my daughter is 10," I smiled and nodded. I looked back out at the playground, looking for my daughter. She was by the slide, talking with one of the other girls.
"Oh, and you have a daughter?" JJ asked as she followed my gaze to the girl in question. "Well, they both look just like you."
"Well, they definitely don’t have my eyes and nose," I laughed and shook my head. JJ looked back at me with a cocked eyebrow. "And I swear my little boy has their personality too."
"He certainly is adorable," JJ laughed as she looked around at the playground. She laughed once she looked at our boys. I was impressed that my son was actually playing instead of just sitting to the side by himself. To be honest, I don’t remember the last time he played with other kids his age. It was a nice change to see for him. He looked like he was having fun, and that’s all that mattered.
"My little king," I laughed lightly as I looked back at JJ. I noticed she was looking between me and our kids. "Do you come to this park often?"
"Not as often as I’d like. Work can get busy, and then school gets busy," I relaxed my body as I sat back more on the bench.
"Amen to that," JJ raised her eyebrows as she spoke. Her smile was genuine, and I enjoyed looking at it. It gave me a certain joy I hadn’t had in a while. It made me smile.
"What is it you do for a living? Surely it can’t be too bad," I laughed as I turned to face her more. She copied my movement and faced me too.
"I… I actually work for the FBI," she kept her voice low so no one around could hear our conversation. I looked at her with wide eyes. And suddenly every little bad thing I’ve ever done came to my mind. The one time I ran a red light because I didn’t want to be late. Or, the one time I stole a chocolate bar when I was a teenager. Or, when I cut someone off on the freeway.
"The-the FBI… Great," I nodded as I looked down at my hands. "Beats my media manager job," I laughed again as I looked up at her.
"Don’t worry. Media manager sounds like a great job," JJ smiled at me, reaching over to hold my hand. I looked at her and nodded.
"FBI sounds even cooler. I bet it’s terrifying," I swallowed roughly as I looked at her.
"Sometimes it can be. It’s the thrill of the chase that keeps me going." Her laughter was like cotton candy: sweet and light and fluffy. I couldn’t help but smile again.
"I would have guessed it was the boys that kept you going. But, I supposed the FBI does do that to someone," I looked down at her hand, which was still holding mine. I could feel my heart rate pick up slightly as I looked down at our hands. I wonder if she knew she was still holding mine.
"Yeah, I suppose I do have to try to keep up with those boys," she laughed, again, before looking over at our kids. I furrowed my eyebrows before nodding slowly.
"Surely their dad must be a load of help, while you’re at work," I asked about her husband/partner without actually asking about him. She looked back at me and cringed slightly. "Oh… I’m so sorry," I whispered before dropping my gaze from her face.
"It’s okay. Really, it's fine," she pulled her hand from mine and waved it off. Part of me sensed that she didn't want to talk about it. And, that was okay.
If it was the same situation as me, if they just walked out? Or if he was ever a part of his kids lives… Did he die? And, if so how? Was he a police officer who got killed on duty? Or was he incredibly sick? It was a bit of a touchy subject. That was until she asked...
"What happened to their…” she started as she looked over at me. “If you don’t mind me asking?" JJ looked at me. And I could feel her big blue doe eyes starting into my spoiler soul. I looked at her and shrugged.
"Oh, uh, not in their lives anymore," I sighed before looking towards the playground, "It was just after our son was born too..." I shrugged, leaving my statement as vague as possible so I wouldn’t have to explain that we were left for another person.
"Oh goodness, I’m sorry," she looked at me, gently resting a hand on my lap. I looked down at her hand and felt my heart rate spike again.
I think she was able to figure out what happened without me saying anything about him. I mean, I figured out what happened to her husband. If I didn't have to explain what happened, then I think that would be best….
"Anyways, I've been a single parent ever since," I smiled as I looked over at her, “I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Those two are my world,” I locked eyes with her.
“I can agree. Michael and Henry… I’d be lost without them,” she smiled at me as she spoke. With that, we both fell into an odd and slightly uncomfortable silence. We both just turned and looked at our kids playing with each other. I wish it wasn’t so awkward….
“So, the… FBI?” I started as I turned back to face her.
“The FBI,” she laughed and nodded, “I work in the BAU,” she looked over at me.
“What would that be, exactly?” I raised an eyebrow.
“Oh! Yeah! Right, I forget that people don’t know about all the different sections within the actual FBI,” JJ laughed again, and I couldn’t help but let my heart swell again. “So, there’s a bunch of different branches in the FBI, right. I work in the BAU, which is the Behavioral Analysis Unit,” she explained, looking at me like I already knew what that was. I furrowed my eyebrows as I looked at her.
“Okay, so… What do you do?”
“Essentially, we read the behaviors of criminals… Like, serial killers, kidnappers… Stuff like that.”
“Like, Ted Bundy?” I asked, furrowing my eyebrows.
“Yeah! Kinda. We’ve been all over the country, solving cases, some unsolved ones. It’s a wild world we live in,” JJ swallowed roughly as she looked down at the bench.
“Do you know how many cases you’ve solved? Must be a lot,” I asked, feeling a certain excitement take over. I felt a little embarrassed by the excitement I felt. JJ could sense that too. But I could see how happy she got with my joy.
“Too many to count, honestly. I’ve been on the team for… 15 years,” JJ’s tone was mildly confused. Like, she wasn’t too sure.
“Well, if you’ve been in that line of work for nearly two decades, it’s okay if you don’t remember,” I laughed as I reached over and rested my hand on her leg. It was her turn to blush up at my touch. “Media manager isn’t anything cool. Not like travelling the country like an FBI Agent. That’s super cool,” I looked up at her.
“It is till it keeps you away from home for long periods of time,” she frowned as she looked down at where my hand was resting on her leg. I returned the frown as I retracted my hand.
“I understand being away from home for a while. Although, I think I only go on work trips every six months,” I laughed, trying to cheer her up a bit.
“Anyways, enough about work,” JJ laughed as she looked back at me.
I was more than happy when we fell into a comfortable conversation. Better than before, when we fell into the complete opposite, uncomfortable silence. The conversations moved so swiftly from hobbies, to when our kids were younger, to what we do in our free time. Although, our conversations were cut short by a cry from a little boy in the playground.
I instantly shot up to my feet, looking around the playground for my son. JJ was instantly on her feet too, looking for her sons too. The second I saw my son on the ground, in tears and holding his knee close to his body. I sprinted across the playground and right to him.
“Hey, hey, baby,” I knelt to the ground to help him, “It’s okay,” I whispered as I brushed the tears off his face.
“He… He just fell off the playground,” one of JJ’s sons appeared by me. I looked over at him and nodded with an exaggerated pout.
“That’s okay! Accidents happen!” I looked back down at my son before picking him up and resting him on my hip. He sniffled his nose before pressing his face into my shoulder. “Ohh, is it time to go home?” I frowned as I walked back over to JJ and the bench.
“Oh no! Did we have a fall?” JJ looked at me as I got closer to her. I frowned and nodded. “I have a first aid kit in the van if you need." She watched as I sat back down. She sat beside me and looked at my son. “Oh, that looks like a rough owie,” she looked at the scrape on his knees.
“You should see his hands,” I looked back at her. JJ looked back at me before standing up.
“I’ll be right back,” she rested a hand on my son’s head and then mine before leaving us for a moment.
“Should we go home and take a nap?” I asked, resting my hand on his back. He took a shaky breath and nodded before pressing his head into body. I looked up just as JJ returned with a small first aid kit and a stuffed animal.
“I have X-Men and Batman band aids,” JJ whispered as she sat back down beside me. I turned my son around so he was facing JJ. “Do you want… Wolverine or Batman?” She looked at him with a small smile on her lips.
“B-batman,” he whispered, looking cautiously at JJ. I watched as she pulled out a wipe, ointment and some Batman band aids. My son looked up at me, tears still fresh in his eyes.
“This might sting… Do you want to hold Arlo? He’s Michael’s dinosaur,” JJ looked at my son as she offered the bright blue and yellow stuffed animal. I looked down at him as he held out his hands to take the dinosaur from JJ’s hands.
“You can be a big boy, for JJ?” I asked, brushing more tears off his cheeks. He looked up at me and nodded. I looked back at JJ and nodded lightly so she would just hurry and clean his injuries.
“Owie,” he cried as he began squirming around. I held him close as JJ tried to be quick.
“Look! Look! I’m all done!” she lifted her hands to show him that she was truly finished. “You got some pretty cool Batman’s band aids on your knees now,” she pointed at his knees, causing him to look down at them.
“What do you say to JJ,” I whispered, looking at my son’s face. She looked at me, then down at the boy on my knee with a smile.
“Thanks, JJ,” he mumbled before turning to hide into my body. JJ laughed, and looked back at me.
“You’re welcome, Buddy,” she looked down at him again.
“And, on that note… I should probably collect my other kid and go home. It’s nap time,” I looked at JJ as I handed her the stuffed Dinosaur. I really didn’t want to bid farewell to her. But, it was time to go. Time had flown by quickly, it was well past nap time and almost dinner time.
“I agree,” JJ frowned as she stood up. I sighed as I stood up beside her. We both called for our kids, waiting for them to run over to us. “Oh, we should exchange numbers… It was nice talking with you, and it’s nice to have friends outside of work,” she laughed as she turned to me again. I smiled and nodded before pulling out my phone.
"We’ll have to set up another playdate soon. I’m sure they all had fun together," I smiled, looking down at my kid. JJ looked at her kids, then over at mine, "Now that we’ve exchanged numbers and all. How would you guys feel about that?" I couldn’t help but let the smile grow across my lips. My cheeks started to hurt a little bit from how happy I was feeling. I honestly don’t remember the last time I was this happy.
"I think that’s a great idea," JJ smiled before looking back at me. I looked back at her and nodded. "And, maybe we can… have a date our… ourselves?" she asked, raising an eyebrow slightly, "Only if you want! I won’t press-"
"That would be… nice," I smiled and nodded, "I’ll call you?"
"Sounds good! Have a nice night you three," JJ smiled at each of us before corralling her kids towards her van.
"Who was that?" My daughter looked up at me with furrowed eyebrows. I smiled as I watched JJ drive off.
"A new friend," I answered, looking down at her with a smile.

Words: 3k+
Warning: smut. this is also my first time writing it. so it's probably terrible. so apologies in advance. but otherwise enjoy.

It wasn’t uncommon to see Jett’s nose buried in a book, even at work. Sat behind the large wooden desk, her head only lifted when the phone rang, or someone approached the desk. Working at the Kook Club was easy: good hours, great pay and the opportunity to do whatever she liked during the down times. With all the guests checked in for the night, and everyone seated in the dining room, Jett knew this was the perfect time to finish her extra credit essay.
JJ was stood in the doorway to the dining room, watching the girl read, captured by her ability to unfalteringly concentrate.
“Quit slacking, Maybank!” the duty manager called from near the kitchen. JJ quickly collected himself, rushing back through the kitchen doors to get his orders.
It was a few hours later when JJ finally approached your desk.
“Hey pretty girl, soup’s up.”
Jett’s head lifted out of her book to meet his blue eyes. She smiled. Working with JJ made the Kook Club bearable. He was funny, charming and not to mention hot. He would make her laugh by making silly faces through the dining room doors as he walked past or would make her smile by bringing her left over deserts from the kitchen.
“Oh, hey there pretty boy,” the terms of endearment had resulted from a regular. The small, sweet but very rich middle-aged lady visited the club twice weekly at a minimum. She always called Jett ‘pretty girl’ and JJ ‘pretty boy’. Jett was convinced she was hitting on him, the way she would grip his bicep when ordering at the bar. JJ, on the other hand swore that she was into girls, supported by his observations of how she would linger at the desk when she would check in for a long weekend stay. So, they became a bit of a joke, but then the nicknames stuck. Jett didn’t mind. She quite liked them. “Did you say something about food?”
“Yep,” he smiled, leaning on the top of the desk, “Soup’s up. Literally. Chef made us soup with the leftovers. Want me to grab you some?”
As if on cue the girl’s stomach growled. She hadn’t even noticed the time passing by as engrossed in her book. It had been hours since she’d last eaten.
“Yes please,” she pouted at him, raising her hands in a begging motion. He laughed at her ruffling her brown straight hair. She scoffed, frantically trying to put it back into place so as to not look disheveled at the front desk.
“Coming right up, milady,” JJ curtsied as he walked away. Jett laughed at his actions just as the phone rang. JJ looked back to her over his shoulder. She was speaking animatedly on the phone. JJ always admired her work ethic. He would never admit it to anyone, but he saw Jett as almost an inspiration- to get out of their lives, out of The Cut. She smiled at him and shooed him towards the kitchen. JJ saluted and disappeared behind the doors.
He retuned moments later, two bowls of soup and a plate of bread perfect balanced on his experienced hands. Jett was typing away on the computer, when she saw him approach. She quickly moved her textbooks out of the way, allowing JJ to place the food in front of her.
“We busy?” he motioned towards the screen where she had just been typing furiously.
“Yep, major group booking. We’re employed for the foreseeable future,” she grabbed the spoon he had collected for her, diving immediately into the soup. She hummed in delight, “It may be scraps but damn Chef really knows how to make them taste good.”
JJ hummed in agreement, a soup doused piece of bread filling his mouth. After swallowing most of it he started to speak.
“What’s for?” he grumbled out over his mouthful of food, pointing to the book that had been thrown aside for their lower-class feast. Jett laughed at the way JJ had asked her, covering his mouth as if it made him anymore polite.
“AP History,” she responded, “extra credit work.”
“Wow must be nice to be smart,” JJ joked, mouth now clear of food. Jett smiled softly.
“Quite boring, actually,” her voice was a lot less excitable as it usually was. JJ had noticed her change in demeanor of the past few weeks, “even worse when you’re poor and need it to get into a good school.”
“Amen,” JJ chimed, shoving another unnecessarily large piece of bread into his mouth. Jett grabbed an acceptably sized piece, dipping it into her soup. JJ rid his mouth of food completely this time before asking her, “are you okay? You’ve seemed a little off lately.”
So, he had noticed, Jett thought. She sighed placing her spoon against the side of her bowl.
“My, uh... my boyfriend broke up with me two weeks ago,” she said sadly. She noticed JJ’s concerned expression, “it was kind of mutual, I guess. He moved to the mainland. I guess I’m just kind of lonely.”
JJ nodded at her explanation, surveying the melancholy look on her face. He had always found her hot but had never made a move because of said boyfriend. An idea sprung to mind.
“My friends and I are having a party on Saturday. You should come, escape your studying for one night.”
Jett peered up at the boy’s pleading expression. Her internal war was overpowered by his puppy-dog eyes and pouty lips.
“Fine,” she relented, causing JJ to throw his arms up in the air, “it better be a good party, pretty boy.”
“They always are.”
***
JJ was right. Pogue boneyard parties were fun. Jett used to come with her ex-boyfriend every now and then. They would scrounge up some free booze, get a couple hits from some random’s blunt and blindly walk back to her house and have the most amazing, hazy sex.
Jett adjusted her shoulders, shaking the thought from her mind. She couldn’t be hanging onto the nothing he had left her with. She would have to move on and forwards, no matter how hard it was.
“Jett!”
She turned to see JJ by the keg, arms waving enthusiastically in the air. She headed over to him allowing him to pass her a cup filled with cheap beer.
“Hey, how was your shift today?” Jett asked him, bringing the cup all the way to her lips, taking a long sip, peering over the rim at the boy. He licked his lips, watching as her chocolate brown eyes stared at him. He cleared his throat quickly.
“You know, the usual. People being dicks, dicks being people.”
She threw head back emitting melodical laughter from her lips. JJ’s mouth turned upward into a smile. She brought the cup up to her lips once again, still giggling.
“That’s very accurate of our clientele,” she said eyeing his smile, taking another large sip from her cup. Her drink was nearly gone already, the liquid heating her insides.
She didn’t know if it was the alcohol or the fact she was a horny and recently single, but JJ looked different. She had never noticed how blue his eyes were, or how deep the dimple in his right cheek ran or how the curve of his bicep was so prominent. She quickly took another sip, finishing up her cup.
“Refill?”
Since she didn’t know anyone, JJ took the liberty of introducing her to his friends as they sat around one of the small bonfires, some of “JJ’s cousin’s good shit” being passed between them. At least that’s what Kiara had said. Jett knew of Kiara but had never properly met her before. She was of course familiar with her family’s business. Kiara spoke passionately about the harms of single use plastic as she passed the blunt to Pope. He was someone she already knew. He was in most of her classes, also vying for a scholarship like her’s. He bypassed the blunt, passing it to Jett. She took a long hit, before passing it to JJ, who was explaining to Kiara and Pope how he and Jett worked together at the country club. He passed the blunt to Sarah. Sarah was someone Jett knew. Her family’s presence at the club was a hyperbole. It usually meant a decent tip to be shared among the staff, and the few conversations she had had with Sarah were pleasant, but her brother was a different story.
“Oh, yeah I thought you looked familiar!” Sarah exclaimed, coughing slightly as she passed the blunt to her boyfriend, who’s lap she sat on.
John B took a hit before passing it back to Kiara, who was still chatting to JJ. Jett watched as John B grabbed Sarah’s head turning it towards him. She smiled seductively as he pulled his lips forward to meet his, smoke transpiring between the two of them. Jett cleared her throat abruptly.
“I need another drink,” she announced, leaving the group of friends to make her way back to the keg. As the liquid pour into her cup, she saw and arm lean against the keg, essentially trapping her between whoever it was and the metal. She knew exactly who it was.
“Rafe,” Jett said dryly, bringing her cup up to her lips and taking a swig as she turned to face up at the boy.
“Bridget, right?” he asked, leaning down to be at eye level with her. This brought their chests closer together, causing Jett to lean back, placing her hand which held her cup up against the boy. “I heard you’re back on the market.”
He winked. It caused a frown to spread over her face, rolling her eyes as she pushed past him.
“I’m not for sale,” she heard one of the other Kook boys (Kelce maybe? She had seen him in the club a few times) whistle boyishly before bursting into hysterical laughter in Rafe’s face. Ignoring their antics, she made her way to a log further away, facing out at the ocean.
She stared out at the water, watching the waves tumble over and over. She reminded herself she needed to move on. She needed to be like the waves, take on the tumble, pick herself back up and get ready for the next. Jett was brought out of her thoughts when the sounds of skin flying across skin. She turned to see a tall, tanned skinny girl stomping away from JJ who cupped his hand over his cheek. Jett couldn’t help the laugh that escaped her lips, which caught the boy’s attention. He walked over to her, taking the spot next to her, rubbing his redden cheek gently.
“What was that?” Jett asked amused. JJ huffed,
“Tourons. Apparently, I got with the wrong one and now I’m out of bounds with just about all of them.” Jett let out a puff of laughter at his dejectedness, before they lulled into a relatively comfortable silence. But JJ sensed something was up.
“Why’d you run off before?”
“I don’t know what you mean,” dismissed Jett, keeping her eyes trained on the ocean, eager to avoid JJ’s gaze.
“Yes, you do,” he countered, shift his body to face her. “Back there with John B and Sarah. Are you jealous?”
“Maybe,” Jett spoke quickly, now staring down at her cup. Was she really about to pour her heart out to JJ Maybank, her coworker? It was almost as if the alcohol itself whispered ‘yes’ to her as her mouth projectiled words without her control, “I don’t know. I miss having that; someone to turn to constantly. To touch you. Do things with. I guess I’ve just got an itch I can’t scratch.”
JJ remained silent, eyes scraping her body. They mainly focused between her hands and her lips, detailing every move she made as she spoke.
“That was too much information wasn’t it?” She threw her head back in frustration.
“That’s exactly what the right amount I needed to hear.”
Her brows pulled together in confusion, turning to face the boy for the first time. His eyes held a deep hunger and she could practically feel the heat radiating off him. She swallowed the lump of nervousness in her throat as he continued.
“You clearly have a problem no one else can fix. And I clearly have been exiled from Touron one-night stands. So, I propose a solution,” JJ stood up, hands gesturing enthusiastically as he spoke. “You and me. Sex. No strings attached.”
“What?” Jett asked incredulously.
“It’s perfect! We both get what we want.”
She mulled over his words silently. She had to admit it would be convenient. She would finally solve her loneliness and would avoid the feelings that hurt her before.
“So, we’d be friends with benefits?” she asked, standing up, placing her hands delicately on his forearms, tracing back and forth. JJ smirked.
“Yeah, reckon you could handle it?” he asked queitly, leaning closer to her. Jett, flicked her hait back over her shoulder, looking up at the boy, hands still flowing softly across his skin.
“We need to lay some ground rules.”
“Absolutely,” JJ agreed. “This is not exclusive.”
“Done,” Jett settled. “No sex at work,” JJ went to object but, she brought a finger to his lips. “I need that job, pretty boy.”
He finger remained on his lips, causing his eyes to grow darker. He nodded in agreement.
“And finally, the most important rule of benefit: no feelings allowed.”
“Deal,” JJ whispered, pulling her hand away from his lips and pulling her in for a kiss. Jett dropped her cup half-filled with alcohol to the ground, wrapping her arms around his neck. She moaned into his mouth.
“Do you wanna--” JJ motioned over his shoulder.
“Yep,” Jett answered quickly allowing him to lead her away from the party.
They stumbled into the Chateau, leaving sloppy kisses along each other’s necks. JJ lead her into the spare room, shutting the door and pressing her up against in. Jett threw her head back against the wood, allowing JJ to explore her neck, sucking on the soft skin. She tugged on his hair, letting out a throaty moan. Keeping her hand his hair, she used it to spin them around, pinning JJ to the door. His eyes widen in surprised, then anticipation as she slipped to the floor in front of him. She grabbed his belt undoing his pants quickly. Above her she could hear JJ’s breathing quicken as she pulled down his pants and underwear.
“Calm down pretty boy, gonna take good care of you.”
And with that she took his dick into her hand, pumping a few times before licking form the base to the tip. The moan that left JJ’s mouth was animalistic. His hands immediately flew to Jett’s hair, entangling themselves into it, pulling her closer towards him. Her head bobbed quickly, causing more grunts to escape from his lips. Jett could feel spit running down her chin as JJ pushed himself further into her mouth.
“Fuck, Jett. When did you get so good at this?” he asked, the sound of his head lightly thudding against the door as he screwed his eyes shut. She smiled sultrily, releasing him from her mouth, pumping his length as she looked up at him.
“Always have been. You’ve just been missing out.”
With a growl he picked her up by the sides, carrying her to the bed, flinging her across the sheets. He made quick work of ridding her of her shirt and bra. His mouth attached to one boob, his hands massaging the other. Jett’s breathing quickened as she held his head to her, hips bucking up desperately. She whimpered needingly, craving his touch. He detached his lips, kissing slowly up her neck.
“Patience pretty girl,” he whispered quietly. The hand that had been flicking at her nipple slid down her body and into the waistline of her shorts. He began to rub small circles over her clit. Jett let out a loud moan, hands instinctively coming over her mouth. With his free hand JJ grabbed her hands, placing them above her head. “Wanna be able to hear you.”
This caused an even louder moan to escape her lips, as JJ moved her panties to the side, easily slipping one finger in. Jett felt euphoric. JJ was already pleasing her better than her ex-boyfriend, and he had barely begun. She thought she could get used to their arrangement. He added another finger and began to pump faster. In contrast, he placed sweet kisses along her jaw, liking the feeling of her moans vibrating along his lips.
“JJ, if you don’t stop, I’m gonna... ugh!” her eyes were screwed shut as her mouth was opened in a silent cry. JJ smiled against her skin, before retracting his hand. Jett’s body relaxed as he placed a kiss on her lips. He stood up ridding himself of his shirt and other items of clothing and she did the same.
She scooted back on the bed as a now naked JJ crawled on top of her, ripping open the condom wrapper with his teeth. He placed it over himself, lining himself up. He leant down next to Jett’s face.
“Ready to do this?” he asked her. She placed her hands on his shoulders and nodded.
“As I'll ever be.”
JJ pushed himself inside of her, their moans mixing in the hot, sticky air. He waited a moment before picking up his pace. Jett’s legs wrapped around his waist as she let out breathy groans. Her nails scrapped down his back, causing him to moan into her neck.
“Shit,” he cursed, his motions keeping a steady pace. He snuck a hand in between them to rub her clit.
“Oh my God, JJ,” she cried. She pulled one leg from around his body, slowly bringing it up to place it over his shoulder. JJ hesitated for a moment but seeing the look of sheer pleasure on Jett’s face, continued. The new angle elicited even more cried from her lips, her nails raking along his chest. JJ grunted, highly turned on by the girl beneath him. He wasn’t going to last much longer, and neither was she. His fingers worked quickly on her clit as his hips continued to meet hers. They yelled each other’s name in unison as they met their highs, JJ completing with a few final strokes.
He pulled out, disposing of the condom before collapsing next to her. They were both sweaty messes, puffing heavily. Jett let out a breathy laugh, wiping the hair which was stuck to her forehead with the back of her hand. JJ pulled the covers out from underneath him, allowing Jett to crawl under with him. They laid next to each other, staring up at the ceiling still catching their breath.
“That was--” Jett started breathlessly.
“Yeah” JJ agreed.
She could get used to this.

Oblivious
Spencer Reid x Bi!Female Reader
Warnings: bad language, a bit of sex talk
A/N: Happy pride month! I know there’s lots of evil things going on in the world at the moment so I wanted to bring a bit of happiness back, even if it is just for a few minutes. I have a Bi!Spencer Reid x Male Reader one shot (possibly a mini series) coming soon, as well as a Lesbian!Emily Prentiss one shot in the works. Let me know if you want a part 2, possibly a smutty chapter? Who knows ;) anyways enough of my rambling, enjoy :)
Word count: 2023
“Hey good job today angel face” Morgan says from opposite me as I pack up my bags to head home. “Everyone’s going for drinks in a bit, fancy coming?”
“Since when have I ever said no to drinks with my favourite man?” I sarcastically shoot back.
“Well considering Reid hasn't asked you out for drinks, I can't comment on that one sunshine.” I pick up a piece of paper from my desk and throw it at him. Unfortunately I have a shit sense of aim, so it ended up going way to the right of Derek and hitting Emily square in the forehead.
“Oops, sorry Em!” I say, skipping over to my best friend and kissing the spot it collided with her face at. Unable to contain her laughter anymore, she erratically waved her hands in front of her face to get to back off. I do, not before messing her hair up with my fingers.
“Uhhhh, what have I walked into?” comes a voice from my left. I spin round and see Spencer stood next to my desk with a puzzled expression on my face. I sheepishly smile at him, looking at Derek for help.
“Y/N once again tried to hit me with a flying object, but her awful aim stopped that from happening and it hit Em instead” Derek laughed out. With a fake anger look on my face I kept on Derek and held him in a fake chokehold. I didn't think twice at how immature it might make me seem, but once I heard Spencer’s adorable laugh I knew I didn't need to second guess myself.
“Hey you adorable human being, get your own man” Garcia says as she walks up to the mess that has unravelled. I rub Derek’s head firmly before sliding off his shoulders, placing my feet firmly on the ground. Well, so I thought. As it seemed though, the earth hated me. As my feet made contact with the ground, my knees buckled and I fell backwards. A firm, but soft pair of hands caught me and helped me steady myself. I didn't need to turn around to look at who had caught me, I could recognise those hands from a mile away.
“Thanks you” I muttered slowly pulling myself off him.
“No problem.”
Feeling the tensions rise in the air I turn my attention back to Garcia, who is now perching on Emily’s desk with a smirk on her face. That little shit, I mutter to myself. Thankfully, my comment wasn't heard by anyone. “For your information Pen, I don't need no man thank you. I am perfectly capable of making my own bad decisions without a helping hand.”
“Amen to that girl!” Emily calls out.
“What about a woman?” Derek asks as we collectively make our way to the lifts. We all manage to fit into one life and I press the button before leaning around Spencer to whack his arm.
“Bite me Derek Morgan.”
“I’m sure Emily would happily do that” he retorts, smirking. This time it was Emily’s turn to whack Derek’s arm. The sounds of bickering between Emily and Derek fill the elevator.
As we get get down to the car park the bickering stops and a wave of realisation hits me like a gust of wind. “Fuck” I mutter, pulling out my phone to see who could come get me.
“Hey, you okay?” a quiet voices comes from besides me.
“Jesus Christ Spence, you scared me!”
“Sorry I didn't mean to. Seriously, are you okay? I don't see your car” he says, quickly scanning the car park for signs of my car.
“My car’s in the garage getting its suspension fixed. I forgot to ask my roommate to pick me up from work tonight and now its 10pm and she's probably already out. Oh my god, how am I going to get home-”
“Hey it’s okay, we’ll go to yours to grab what you need before heading to the bar to meet the others. Come on, hop in” he says, opening the passenger side door before scooting round to the drivers side and getting in. It didn't take long for me to make up my mind, I mean it was either go with him or try to find my own way home AND then my way to the bar we were all set to meet at 11. I got in, shooting him a smile and we head off.
- AT THE BAR -
“Hey! Finally you showed up, we were beginning to think you weren't coming” JJ says and we approach the booth.
“Don’t be silly, we don't do this very often anymore. I wouldn't miss it for the world” I say scooting into the booth, situating myself between Emily and Spencer. Oh great, this won't be awkward at all, I say to myself. Almost as if he'd read my mind (or, most likely, the awkwardness I was displaying) Spencer’s leg shifted slightly and met mine. I looked up at him slightly, yet his focus was on Morgan and debating on what alcohol would get them drunk the fastest.
After a few drinks everyone seems to have loosened up a bit. I mean, even Spencer was on his third drink of the night. The norm for this team is as the number of drinks consumed got higher, the more secrets (or “tea” as Penelope would sometimes put it) were revealed. And tonight proved no different that normal.
“Let’s do truth or drink guys!” Penelope half shouted. The bar we were at is one of our favourite ones to go to together and tonight was pretty loud in here. Meaning as the surroundings got louder, the louder we all became. Even though every single one of us groaned at the idea, we all knew better than to disagree with a tipsy Penelope. It started off relatively innocent and calm, until it got to Derek’s turn Derek, having been waiting for 10 minutes already, knew exactly what and who he wanted to ask. It was no surprise to me when he pointed at me.
“Little miss sunshine, ready for your question?”
“I was born ready baby, give it to me.”
“Do you have a preference of who you date? And if so, what is it.”
That fucker. Not a drinking session goes by that I don't get asked about my sexuality I mean don't get me wrong, I love educating people and I love the sight on Derek’s face when I end up getting the number of a girl he’s expressed interest in. Taking a swig of my drink, I ponder on the question for a few moments before replying,
“I have a ‘type’ of women that I find myself automatically gravitating myself towards. I mean I guess I have a type of guy I like too. I don't know, I just go with what my heart says most of the time.”
“You still need to describe it sunshine” he says, smirking into his drink. It’s not as if we haven't had this discussion before, and by ‘we’ I mean Derek and myself. He knew what it was, he just wanted to see me suffer.
“I hate you” I groan, shuffling around to get comfortable before I answer Derek’s question. I take a big swig of my drink as I go to reply “red headed girls with a quick temper.”
“And the guys?” Spencer says, breaking his silence and looking at me.
“Brown mess hair, bit of a dork, goofy, tall, thinks Halloween is the best holiday of the year” I say, drawing my lips into a small smirk and taking another sip of my drink. Spencer doesn't even blink twice at my reply. Idiot.
Everyone’s questions seemed a lot tamer than mind. For example, JJ would be asked “what's the most romantic thing Will’s ever done for you?” and Derek’s would be “so you wish you had more freedom with your work hours?”. But mine, “craziest place you've had sex?” or “one person you'd happily let jump your bones right now?” (10 points if you guess who asked that one). After a few rounds I squeezed through the crowd and up to the bar for refills, and shots. I was under strict instructions to get at least 20 shots, no less.
“Hey can I have the same again, but with 20 shots as well?” shooting the bar tender a smile and giving the name of the open tab.
“Sure things hun, what shots do you want?” she asks.
“Surprise me,” I say, not really knowing what to order. I feel a tap on my shoulder, alerting me that someone was behind me. I spin around to see the most gorgeous red head stood in front of me. Out of the corner of my eye, the laughing was easing at the table and I could see the glances they were all giving in my direction. Great, an audience is just what I need.
“Hey, so I hope I’m not over stepping by saying I think you're one of the most beautiful people I've ever seen here.”
“Hi, that’s so sweet of you! You are absolutely stunning yourself” I say, feeling 5 sets of eyes on me.
“Um would it be possible for me to get your number?” she asks, tucking a piece of her hair behind her ear.
“Oh, I’m so sorry. It’s not that I don't find you ridiculously attractive, I um” I trail off slightly, glancing back and locking eyes with the messy haired brunette at my table. He flashes me a small, yet sad smile before turning his attention to JJ. “It wouldn't be fair to either of us if I did that because my hearts already with someone else.”
“It’s cool, I get it. Whoever they are is a lucky person” she says, smiling sweetly before turning and walking away. I turn back to the bar and grab the tray of drinks, slowly making my way back to the table. This time, when I reach the table, its quiet and all eyes are on me.
“What?” I ask, as I hand out the drinks and put the shots in a circe in the middle of the table. I scoot back into the booth, regaining my seat in between Spencer and Emily.
“Why did you turn her down?” Derek asks in disbelief, “in the 5 years I've known you I have never seen you turn down someone that quickly. Especially not a smoking hot red head like that!”
“You say that as if it's a crime Derek. I wasn't interested, I said no and we parted ways. End of conversation.”
“But why?” Spencer asks, “she’s exactly your type.”
“Yeah and so are you yet you're still an oblivious fuck” I mutter. Something in the air changed the second those words fell out of my mouth. I couldn't quite figure out if it was a good change or not.
“What was that Y/N?” Derek asks, smirking.
“What I said was not meant for your ears so shut it” I ramble looking over at Spencer, who’s still staring at me and seemingly in a world of his own. I try to study his face, looking for some kind of answer or reply to what I’d just said.
Sensing the obvious tension in the air Penelope did the best thing she could think of doing, shouting out the words “SHOT TIME EVERYONE!”. That seemed to do the trick as it knocked Spencer out of whatever alternate timeline he was in. He grabs 2 shots, placing one in front of you and keeping the other in his hand.
“To friendship” JJ said, raising her shot glass to the roof.
“To friendship!” the others yelled, clinking glasses and putting back the shots.
Spencer’s hand found its way to your thigh under the table, squeezing it tightly as he muttered, “to friendship.” downing the shot. His eyes locked on mine.
“To friendship” I say, pulling my lips to the glass with a smirk and downing it. Hmm, maybe he's completely oblivious after all, I say to myself before locking hands with Spencer under the table.

when school started
read their story here
masterlist
>>> the troublemakers start another semester of school and they have to deal with their fame. but never mess with someone who gets into trouble for fun.
“Is that JJ and Max... holding hands?” “Maybank and Belinsky?” “Who would’ve thought those two would end up together?” “WHAT?!” “I never wanted to be Maybank so bad.” “That Belinsky is a lucky one.” and other things JJ and Max got used to people saying when they walked passed since they started being a thing two weeks ago.
It wasn’t a surprise, two people who had their reputation together as a couple wasn’t a thing that would pass unnoticed, specially around the Pogues and Kooks. But they didn’t care, all they wanted was to enjoy the end of those long thoughts and confused questions, but unfortunately for them, they are Max Belinsky and JJ Maybank, trouble was always around the corner, even if they didn’t want to. They are the troublemakers! They had to live up to their name, but they didn’t thought that they were going to go to the principal’s office on their first day back in high school.
“Ms. Belinsky, please come the principal’s office immediately.” Max lifted her head from her notebook and furrowed her eyebrows confused.
“Uuuh, she’s in trouble.” JJ teased next to her with a smirk on his face. She got up from her sit and then quickly slapped JJ on the back of his head.
“Belinsky.” The teacher said. She lifted her hands into the air surrendering, and on the moment before she could walk some steps towards the door, the megaphone spoke again.
“And Mr. Maybank, come to the principal’s office.” Max, with a little smile and a lifted eyebrow turned to JJ, who was now confused.
“Get up, you little bitch.” Max said loud enough so only JJ could hear her, but John B, who was in front of JJ let out a tiny laugh.
“You two, go, now.” The teacher said, and just like that, JJ and Max were out of the classroom not before all of their classmates followed them with their eyes.
“Did we do something?” JJ asked while him and Max were waiting to get inside the office.
“I have no idea why we’re here.”
“Maybe we did something but we can’t remember.”
Max shook her head. “Nah, I always remember what I do. Unless I’m being questioned by the police.”
“Yeah, we’re professionals at that.” He nodded and then let out a tiny laugh. “We sound like criminals.”
Max was about to say something but Princial Gomez walked out of his office with his grey suit on and his white hair. He looked at JJ and then Max, who were standing there with innocent smile on their faces.
“What’s up, Ricky? Had a good summer?” Max asked walking closer to Gomez. Since the serious expression he had didn’t change, Max lifted his fist towards him. “Give me some.” But he just kept the eye contact with her. Max felt the tension and without bringing his fist down, she slowly nodded. “I guess that’s a no.”
“I got you.” JJ said and gave her the fist bump.
“Thanks, man. Appreciate that.” Max nodded.
“No problem.”
“Inside.” Principal Gomez said with a firm tone before walking inside his office. JJ and Max looked at each other confused and then walked through the door. “Close the door, Maybank.”
After doing what Principal Gomez told him, JJ sat down next to Max, who sat down on one of the chairs Gomez had in front of his desk.
Max and JJ waited for him to talk, but he just took his sweet time to cross his arms around his chest and stare at both of them for a couple of seconds.
“Ok, you’re killing me here, man, with all of this suspense.” JJ said impatiently.
“Do you know how many times you two visited my office last year?” Gomez said for the first time since they all walked into the office.
“I’ll say five.” JJ said.
Max nodded. “Yeah, I would probably say like, 6? That sounds better.” JJ nodded while looking at each other but when Princial Gomez spoke more loudly they both went back to him.
“35!” He said frustrated and angry. “Each!”
“Really? A tie?” JJ asked.
“Get over it, dude, you’ll never win.” Max said with a laugh but once Gomez clased a book with strength making a loud noise, she quickly went silent turning to him.
“I’m extremely tired of you two ending up in my office! And I’ve heard you didn’t rest on the summer, either.” Gomez said and that’s when JJ and Max looked at each other. JJ winked at her before turning back to their principal and his frustrated and angry expression. “And this time, the first day of school! What were you two thinking?!”
“You know,” Max said. “I respect you, principal, you’re a cool dude. But I have to say, I have no idea what you’re talking about.”
“Same here.” JJ said lifting his left hand into the air.
“You’re not going to get away with this, I’m sure of it. Detention, a month.”
“What?!” JJ and Max said at the same time. “Sr, we’re saying the truth, we swear. We didn’t do what you think we did.”
“Really?” Gomez said sarcastically. “You two didn’t set off a smell bomb in the cafeteria?”
“Sr, with all due respect.” Max said. “I wouldn’t do that. I’m a little bit more creative than that.” Immediately, Gomez turned to JJ who quickly shook his head.
“I’m more creative than her, so I wouldn’t do that either.”
“You wish.” Max said almost in a whisper.
“And why would I believe you two? You always try to get away with the thing you do lying all the time!”
“Look at it this way,” JJ said getting closer with his face to Gomez’ desk. “Think of all the things we did last year, separately. You know us, principal, do you really think we would pull that off?”
Max looked at JJ with a smile, proud of his words, and then turned to Gomez. “JJ’s right, principal, liked it to admit it or not. We were cuestioned by the police two times this summer, do you think that we would put a smell bomb? We would totally go harder than that.” Max said and immediately added once Gomez gave her a warning look. “But we won’t, of course.”
Gomez looked at Max and then at JJ before letting out a big sigh. He looked down to his desk and then said, firmly: “Belinsky, Maybank, you can go back to class.”
JJ and Max gave each other proud smiles before getting up from their sits and walking out of the office.
“That was good.” Max said giving JJ a high five once they both started to walk back to their classroom.
“But tell me!” Sam said to Max with her lunch on her hands while she and the rest of the Pogues, John B, Pope and JJ were walking to the little outdoors the school had. “Did you do it?”
“No!” Max said. “I would’ve told you!”
“Then who did it?” Pope asked when they all sat down on the grass.
“We have no idea.” JJ said.
“Aren’t they gonna do something?” Max asked looking around. “I mean, if someday stole the credit for something that I did, I would be pissed.” JJ nodded agreeing with Max.
“Are you still getting detention?” John B asked before giving a bite to his sandwich.
Max shrugged her shoulders. “I don’t think so.”
“Who would’ve thought that for getting more into trouble, would get us out of trouble?” JJ said before letting out a laugh.
Max nodded with a smile. “Stupid things have good outcomes sometimes.”
“Amen, baby!” JJ yelled before they all bursted out in laughter and continued eating their lunch.
“Finally, free!” John B yelled once they all walked out of the big door of their school.
Max and JJ locked eyes with each other when he let his arm go around her shoulders.
“Do you want to do something?” He asked looking at her lips.
“Mmmmh, maybe.” Max said with a smirk, but all of that was cut of by the principal walking out of the school with a student by his side to walk towards a black car and what seemed to be two parents waiting.
“What happened?” Pope asked looking at the boy and the principal.
“He’s a freshman.” A random girl said next to Pope. “He was the one who put the smell bomb on the cafeteria, someone saw a package of bombs in his gym locker and told the principal.”
“He kept the evidence?” JJ said and Max turned to him knowing what he was thinking.
“Amateur.” They both shook their heads.
Gomez walked pass JJ and Max and gave them a little nod, they both did the same with smiles on their faces.
“We were right, he’s never going to forget that.” JJ said once he saw the principal entering the school. Max nodded with a smile.
“First day of school and we already went to the principal’s office.” Max said. “I guess we never sleep.”
“You and me?” JJ asked with a smirk. “Never.”
Max let out a smile and then closed the space between their faces to leave JJ and kiss on his lips.
“Get a room you two!” John B yelled.
Max turned around to flip him off, but a better idea came to her mind.
“Hey, JJ!” She yelled loudly enough so that John B, who was a couple of steps away could hear her. “Do you want to go to John B’s room?”
Knowing what Max was doing, JJ looked at her with a smile and then to his best friend, who was shaking his head.
“Don’t you two dare!”
“You told us to get a room!” JJ yelled letting his arm around Max’s shoulders.
“And we choose yours!” Without waiting for a response, with a huge smile on her face, Max grabbed JJ’s hand and started to ran away, leaving the Pogues and the school behind.
>>> are you ready to see how the troublemakers shake everyone’s world?

First Hello
You were new at the Kook academy, as everyone liked to call it. It was obvious you didn't belong. The whole first day was absolutely miserable. No one approached you, no one asked your name, or where you came from, they already knew you were an outsider.
Even though you didn't want to go back, obviously, you had to. As soon as you entered through the front doors, you saw her.
Long, curly brown hair fell past her shoulders. The top half was pinned back, a style that seemed to be popular around there. Her skin was glowing, literally, because the early morning sun was seeping through the door every time it opened. She'd been turned to the side, talking to a couple of boys, but you also catch her eye.
When you realize she's excusing herself and walking toward you, you start walking to your homeroom. However, she's faster than you and catches up.
"Hello, I'm Kiara, and you are?" As you look over at her, you realize that she's more beautiful than you thought initially. You immediately wondered if she was one of the popular girls you hadn't met yet.
"I'm Y/N."
Kiara smiles only enough for you to see small lines at the corners of her mouth. "Is today your first day?"
Your hopes of getting her to go away with short answers fall to the floor. "Yesterday, actually."
"God, I bet it was terrible, right? I took a much-needed skip day. These people are such pricks, so far up their own asses literally all the time." Kiara rolls her eyes at you, and your jaw drops slightly from shock.
When you don't say anything, she looks over at you, and suddenly she's laughing. "Tell me I'm wrong. You can't, can you?"
"U-uh, I guess n-not. I-I'm surprised-"
"That I'm not one of them? Trust me, I hate being here. I would not be here if it were my choice." She says through her giggles, and you start laughing with her.
"Amen to that."
"You can call me, Kie."
First Goodbye
The end of the school year was here. Most of your classmates were chattering about spending the summer in the Outer Banks. Including Kie, she'd been telling you for weeks now that she couldn't wait to see her three best friends every day again.
"You can ride the ferry over and hang out with us! They'd get along with you so well because I do." Kiara slings an arm around your shoulder, exiting the school building for the last time.
She had really become your best friend. It was fun to feel like you could do anything with her by your side. That mainly meant standing up to these crazy kooks, but you wouldn't have survived this year without her. As much as you hated the people here and what they stood for, you got the full kook experience. On nights you'd attend sporting events and the after parties that followed, she'd stay with you. Then that turned into an almost all of the time thing, and if she wasn't with you, then you were with her. Even your parents had become friends.
"Actually, I'll be spending the next three months out of state. My grandma isn't doing very well, so my family wants to be close when, you know, it happens." You recognize that you're responsible for instantly bringing the mood down, but you didn't mean to. It slipped, plus you were going to have to tell her eventually.
"Oh." Kie stops walking. Your cars are at separate ends of the parking lot, so this would be where you have to part ways.
"I guess that means I should tell you this now." She mumbles, and you duck your head slightly to let her eyes find yours.
"What is it?"
"My parents agreed that if I put in an effort here for one year, I could move the next. I'm registered at Kildare County High School for the fall." Kiara chews on her lips, something you learned she does when she's nervous.
And for some reason, you feel this odd pit in your stomach. This feels like it's more than losing a best friend, but you can't put your finger on it.
"Oh." Now it's your turn to be surprised.
Tears well up in your eyes, and you feel stupid because of it. It's not even from thinking about having to endure these people without her, it's just about being without her. You look up to the sky and try to blink away the water before it falls.
"I know, I should've told you sooner, but I didn't know if they'd still hold up their end of the deal. This isn't the place for me, and I know it's not for you either, but I'm going to take my chance and go." Kie reaches for your hand, and you look at her.
"No, you're right to go, I don't blame you. Just sad cause I'll miss you, that's all." You smile to lighten the mood, it had suddenly felt too serious and dramatic.
She pulled you into a hug, squeezing you tight. "Update me on your grandma, okay? I'll only be a boat ride away when you get back."
When she pulls away, her eyes are shiny too. All you can do is nod, and then you're walking in different directions with tight chests and broken hearts that you'd chalked up to teenage hormones.
You never updated her, but she never asked.
Second Hello
Another school year passed. This one not as nearly eventful as the last. You actually spent most of it at home, claiming to the deans of the school that you were still recovering from your grandmother's death. Whether that was true or not is still up for debate. She was your best friend, and you'd only became closer over her last couple of months. Some days it was fine, and the next, it felt like it had just happened again.
What mattered now was that your parents had bought a house in Figure 8. They'd sold your grandma's house and land to do so. It didn't feel like a big deal to you, but nothing had recently. The house has actually been brought to your parent's attention because Kiaras parents reached out, saying they thought it would be perfect for your family's summer house.
That part hadn't really sunk in until your move-in day. You were driving through the neighborhood behind your parents, observing all of the ridiculously huge houses. It was when you saw Kie's car parked in a driveway, only three houses down from yours that you realized what was happening. Sure, you knew you were moving to the outer banks that everyone else in your class seemed to talk about and love, but you didn't realize it was her Outer Banks too. The dots hadn't connected yet, and now that they were, all you could feel was panic.
Did Kie know you'd be here? Did her parents tell her, and she never reached out? Are you supposed to approach her or the other way around? Or are you supposed to act like you don't know her? Why was seeing someone you used to be attached at the hip with such nerve-wracking and scary?
You went with the ignore option. Pretending you don't know her is easy enough, because you weren't going to go anywhere. None of the kooks particularly liked you. Therefore you weren't getting invited anywhere, so you'd just lay low. That was the plan.
The plan came crashing down when you find yourself at a kegger on the beach. How you got here? A blonde boy doing newspaper routes in your neighborhood had caught you outside. He invited you, and your parents were standing there, so you had to say yes.
And you thought of all the ways you could get out of it, but then your dad insisted on driving you. Making an escape wasn't an option anymore, either.
So you kind of made your rounds. Walking around the perimeter of the party slowly. Some of your classmates said hi, some turned their backs. Either way, you were standing alone with the aforementioned blonde boy approached you.
"Mail girl, you're here. How do you feel about it so far?" He outstretches his hand that has a full red cup in it, but you decline.
"First, you're mail boy, I had nothing to do with the mail." You crack a small smile, and so does he. "Second, it's not my scene. I think I'll ditch soon, but thanks for the invite."
"You can call me JJ instead of mail boy, but whatever works for you. Do you want to meet my friends first? Maybe you'll want to stay." JJ points over his shoulder with his thumb.
In hindsight, this is where your brain should've reminded you of your bad luck and karma, but it failed you. So you nodded and followed JJ through the crowd.
The first two people he brings you to are a tall typical surfer boy and another who was dressed similarly but looked entirely too uncomfortable to be there.
"John B, Pope, this is..." JJ turns to you, clearly waiting for you to say your name, but it's funny to watch him stutter. "Mail, girl."
The smirk that spreads across his face makes you roll your eyes, "Actually, my name is-"
"Y/N?"
The three boys' attention is now on whoever is speaking behind you, but you know who it is already.
You turn on your heel. Your heart is already beating out of your chest. Is she going to be mad that you never reached out? Should you be angry that she didn't? Out of all the possibilities in your mind, what she actually did wasn't one of them.
Kie pretty much jumped toward you, embracing you immediately. It takes you a second, but you wrap your arms around her too. It didn't matter anymore what happened before, who didn't call who and all of that.
"I missed you." She breathes, squeezing you tighter. Your heart swells, but your brain tells you this is more. More than only best friends. It clicks with you why the pain of losing her hurt so badly. You have feelings for her.
"I missed you too." You sigh, letting yourself relax. Your feelings would be a bridge crossed at some other time, but for now, you're going to focus on catching up.
First kiss
Kie was laying against you on the sofa bed at the Chateau. It was late, the moon high in the sky. You were holding her hand and playing with her fingers. Her other arm was underneath you, hand tracing circles on your back. Neither of you were asleep, but you weren't talking either. It was comfortable.
Physical affection was something you'd both grown to love. It was always small things like sitting so close in the van that your knees touched, toying with the bracelets on her arms, or cuddling when you decided to stay over at John B's. It was a way to tell each other the things you didn't want to say out loud yet.
You shifted a little, so your chin lined up with her mouth. She tilts her head so she can look at your face, but you don't budge, you're already starting to blush.
Then, you feel a warm spot on your jawline. A small muah sound follows. Kie kissed you.
Now you're really blushing, your heart is in your ears as you look down at her. You're already so close that your noses brush. Her eyes flicker from your eyes, down to your lips, and back up again. Somehow, you'd convinced yourself that your feelings were one-sided. That Kie was a physical person anyway, but you were wrong.
She's waiting for you because her signal has been sent loud and clear. You only hesitate for a second before you close the tiny gap, pressing your lips against hers softly.
The kiss was slow and gentle, but it felt magical. It was perfect. Kie pulls away for just a second before she kisses you again, both smiling into it.
First date
Kiara told you not to make dinner plans, so you told your parents you'd be with the Pogues and made your way to the Carrera residence. She was standing outside, waiting for you with her car already running.
"Ready?" She gives your cheek a quick peck and slaps your butt as you go around to the passenger side of the car.
"I don't know how I feel about surprises." You laugh. Kie is crazy sometimes, there is no telling what she's getting you two into.
"You'll like this one, I promise."
After a few minutes, you pull up to The Wreck. The lights look like they're off on the outside, but that's normal because the restaurant is always closed on Mondays. "I just have to get something before we go. Will you come with?"
Kie gives you her best pouty face, and you can't help but give in. She retakes your hand when you meet in front of the car, leading you to the front door that she unlocks first. When you enter the dining area, your jaw drops.
Candles are lining the bar, all of the tables are pushed back except for one in the middle. Hot, fresh food is sitting on top of it with more candles in between each dish. Your favorite song is playing softly.
"Are you kidding me? This is the cutest thing anyone's ever done for me." You tug on her hand, so she spins back toward you and into your arms.
"Dance later, let's eat first. I'm going to tell our volunteer cook she can go." Kie wiggles her eyebrows and disappears behind the bar as you sit down.
"Thanks, Sarah!" You call out, laughing to yourself about figuring it out.
"How did you know?" Sarah pops out from the doorway.
"I figured neither of our parents knows, an actual employee couldn't be trusted, and the boys don't keep secrets... So that leaves you." Kiara is standing behind her now.
"Damn, I really thought I had it in the bag."
Both you and Sarah laugh before Sarah excuses herself, tell you two to have a good night.
Most of the dinner is spent talking about the boys and how you should tell them about the two of you. As far as you both knew, they didn't even know you liked girls, so there was that too. Nevertheless, you'd devised the perfect plan.
After you're finished eating, Kie picks up the speaker from the corner of the room and drags you down to the dock. There are fairy lights strung along the rails. She switches the playlist to softer music and takes you into her arms.
The night is spent dancing around, twirling and dipping each other, just having. Good time. The music is sweet, but the sound of Kie's laughter is so much better.
Making it official
It wasn't planned, it wasn't even thought out.
You were at a Kegger. Next to John B and JJ, who were talking to some Tourons that we're giving you dirty looks for being around. Kie was across the way with Sarah and Pope, but you were both looking at each other.
Neither of you were really the jealous type, but you had grown tired of coming to these things and watching each other getting hit on by various guys.
"Excuse me, boys."
You get to your feet, walking directly to Kie, only stopping to throw away your empty cup.
Sarah sees you coming first, nodding at Kie. "Hey, can we talk?"
"Pope, let's go get those tourons away from my boyfriend." Sarah pushes him to get him to start walking, and he obliges.
"Yeah, what's up?" Kiara narrows her eyes, "You okay?"
"I'm tired." You whine. All you want to do is hold her.
"Sleepy tired? We can tell them we're leaving." She brushes her hand against yours and takes a step past you, but you grab onto her side and pull her back.
"No, tired of the others not knowing. Tired of coming here and pretending to be interested in these guys. Tired of not being able to hold you whenever I want to." You jut your bottom lip out in a pout, and she smiles.
"I know, darling. We'll go tell them now if you want to? I'm ready whenever you are." Kie starts to take another step, but you shake your head. Suddenly realizing what you're doing.
"We had a plan, we can't tell them now. I was being irrational, I think I just got flustered all of a sudden. I don't know what I-"
"What do you want me to do, Y/N/N?" She asks, trying to comfort you.
"I want you to be my girlfriend." You blurt, both of your eyes immediately widening.
Kie squeals, a noise you've never heard before, and then she jumps into your arms. "Oh my god. Of course."
You laugh and let go of her. Both of you glance around for a second, she smooths out her shirt. "Totally normal, right?"
"Yeah, totally normal. Anyway, I'm going to tell them we're leaving now." Kie winks at you before she jogs over to your friends.
Telling the Pogues
Kiara held your hand as the two of you stood in front of John B, JJ, Pope, and Sarah. You'd just said it, but none of them had any reaction.
"If you're going to be mad about the no Pogue on Pogue macking, then you can fuck off cause we aren't dumbasses, and we wouldn't ruin this kind of thing." Kie crosses her arms, looking confused. Why weren't they saying anything?
"Okay, cool. So, anyone up for a boat ride?" John B stands up, looking at each person at a time.
"Excuse me? You guys knew?" Kie's tone is slightly frustrated.
JJ is the first one to laugh, and Sarah's face is bright red.
"Sarah! Come on." You groan, laughing with JJ.
"Listen, I only told Pope, so... the rest is on him."
"You told Pope and not me?" John B whips his head around to look at Sarah.
"Hey, that's not the point. None of you have comments?" You ask, still trying to hold back giggles.
"We" re happy for you." JJ comes forward with his arms outstretched. You and Kie put yourself in his embrace, and the other three follow, making it a group hug.
First I Love You
Being in your house today felt impossible and suffocating. Your parents were acting like nothing had happened, so you left.
You found yourself sitting on the dock at the Chateau, feet dangling in the water. John B wasn't home, but you were thankful no one was here to see you cry.
Watching your tears fall into the water seemed to calm you down. The ripples they made were satisfying, at least. You look closer to see a reflection standing over you, and recognize it as Kie. You hadn't even heard her walk up.
"Hi, angel." She sits down next to you, slinging an arm around your shoulder and also putting her feet in the water. "How are you holding up?"
All you can do is shrug your shoulders.
"You miss her. That's normal. Do you want to tell me about her?" Kie leans in to kiss a tear off of your cheek.
"How'd you know?" It's been a year today since your grandmother died. Thinking about it makes you feel like the wind has been knocked out of you.
"I just know." She takes both of your hands in hers and squeezes.
"She was so funny. There was rarely a moment we weren't laughing with her. But she was tired, and she hated being old, so she knew it was her time. I always admired that, that she knew it was coming and she was okay with it. Most of the time, I can feel the same way and believe that she's doing better now. And then other times, I realize I won't ever see her again. I won't get to call her and tell her all that I've accomplished, and it hurts like it's fresh again." Your lips quiver as you begin to cry harder. Kiara pulls you into her lap.
"I love you, Y/N. You're strong, and you carry her memory with you in everything you do. You've made it so far without her, and I guarantee she's so proud of that. So am I."
"You what?" You look at her, your whole body is still.
"I'm proud of you." Her brown eyes look a little lighter in the light.
"No. You love me?"
"Yeah. I do."
"I love you more." You press your forehead against hers, watching her roll her eyes before you kiss her.

Take me out to the ball game.
A/N So… This is the result of me being sad over Opening Day being postponed, the MLB livestreaming game 7 of 2016 WS when my Cubs won, and having watched yesterday the episode where Rossi talks about this and puts up the W in his office wall *cries thinking about it* (I thrive everytime David Rossi of Criminal Minds or Nick Miller of New Girl make a reference about the Chicago Cubs lmao) Also in my head the Simmons family are huge Nationals fans just for the sake of the story lmao. Hopefully you’ll enjoy it.
Summary: It’s MLB’s Opening Day and since the Cubs are playing against the Nationals, Rossi invites the whole BAU fam to the Nats Park. (Please remember I suck at summaries)
Pairing: I guess there’s a little Spencer Reid x SSA (y/n) (y/l/n) there but it is mostly bonding time between the BAU fam.
Warnings: None.
Masterlist
“Well, this isn’t Wrigley Field but at least our Cubbies are playing” (y/n) said to David as they got to their seats.
It was MLB’s Opening Day and David had invited everyone to go and see his beloved Cubs playing against the Nationals, he was particularly excited that he finally had another Cubs fan in the team. They were both wearing Cubs jerseys and hats.
“Aren’t you supposed to be on the field playing? There’s enough of you to be a team” Prentiss teased the Simmons family, who were proudly wearing Nationals gear, all six of them had jerseys, even little Rose Mary.
“Very funny, Em, but actually we’re incomplete, there are nine team members on the diamond” Matt said with a laugh.
“Better start working on triplets then” Will said while he and JJ put sunscreen on their boys.
“Not a chance” Kristy was quick to answer braiding Lily’s hair.
The whole BAU family was there, even though not all of them were baseball fans, they felt it would be a good memory attending Opening Day all together.
“I have an extra Cubs hat if anyone wants it, maybe you Luke, come to your senses, come on” (y/n) teased Luke and he jokingly gasped while adjusting his Yankees hat.
“Haha, very funny, (y/l/n)”
“I’ll take it” Spencer, who was conveniently sitting next to her, spoke and everyone hid their smirks, they knew he was doing it so he could impress (y/n), truth was he didn’t know much about sports, he had been busy with his lectures so he couldn’t do proper research on the sport but he was willing to learn as the game progressed.
“Yes! That’s the attitude, Spence” She happily gave it to him.
“Usually I’m more into hockey and football but this could be nice” JJ thought the weather was beautiful and the atmosphere at the park was nice.
“Wait, till this lasts 4 hours or more” Kristy joked with wide eyes.
“What!?”
“This is the king of sports and now I could finally prove it to you” Rossi was ecstatic being there.
“I love you, Dave but if this goes on for more than three hours I’ll leave you up to it and I’ll go to the house, or anywhere else”
“Yup, I want to tag along if that does happen” Penelope chimed in and Luke laughed.
“Count me in, I’m mainly here for the food and the beer” Emily added with a beer already on her hand.
“Amen to that” Tara was also holding a beer and putting on her sunglasses.
“I want a hot dog!” Michael got hungry at the mention of food.
“Sure, buddy, I’ll go grab you one”
“I’ll go with you, the kids also will want food any second now” Matt was quick to follow Will and soon Tara, Emily and (y/n) joined them to buy snacks for the rest of the team.
Soon they were back with a lot of food and drinks for all nineteen of them.
They all chatted about different things, they were seated in two rows so that they weren’t that far from each other, the game started and Matt, David and (y/n) were immediately lost in the game, the three of them talking about what their teams were doing good and what they could work on.
Kristy noticed Spencer was a little bit anxious, he moved his foot and every other minute he looked at (y/n), probably wishing he knew something about baseball so he could talk to her.
“First game, Spence?” She bounced Rose who was sitting in her lap.
“Uh, yeah” He turned to her and little Rose who was having the time of her life with a foam finger, that was almost as big as her, his uncle Dave had bought for her.
“Do you want to know more about how baseball works?” She offered and Spencer nodded desperately.
“Ok, so…”
And so Kristy began to explain to Spencer everything she had learned of the sport from her dad, brothers and Matt, she enjoyed watching the games before she started dating Matt but when they started dating, Matt’s love for it rubbed off on her.
It was the middle of the fourth inning and the Presidents race was happening, the kids were excited to see it. Soon JJ and Will had their sons on their shoulders, Matt had Jake, Luke had David, Kristy had Chloe and (y/n) had Lily while Penelope carried a happy Rose.
The scene of all of them cheering on the presidents was adorable, Krystall decided to take a video to capture the scene. The race ended and the kids were on their seats again talking about how cool it was to see the presidents run.
“I want my own giant foam caricature head” A tipsy Emily declared “Let’s all make our own foam heads and have a BAU race, woo!” She screamed and everyone laughed.
“It’s a good thing she didn’t drive here” Penelope said still holding Rose.
“I’ll take her home, I’m taking Spence too” (y/n) offered as she noticed a very quiet Spencer “Are you having fun?”
“Uh, yeah, this is nice, it’s my first baseball game but Kristy helped me out understanding the rules” Reid nodded as he ran a hand through his hair nervously.
“That’s great, you should’ve told me and I could’ve explained it to you on our way here”
“Don’t worry, it’s ok” His smile made (y/n) melt, his eyes looked particularly beautiful with the sunlight above them.
“Maybe it was best that Kristy explained it to you, I can get intense as I’m sure you noticed”
“I would say you’re passionate and it’s… It’s- really nice to see you talk about something you’re so passionate about, you know, besides work” He looked at her with a shy smile on his lips and noticed she was blushing, as she was going to say something Lily tapped on her shoulder.
“Aunt (y/n), are you gonna sing with me the baseball song?” She asked with a sweet voice.
“Of course, I’ll do that, maybe uncle Spencer can sing with us too” He looked terrified because he had no idea what they were talking about “We’re going to teach you a song so you can sing it with us during the middle of the 7th, ok?” More than asking, (y/n) was informing him he was going to sing with them and he nodded.
Soon it was the 7th inning stretch and everyone were on their feet ready to sing, while Emily and Penelope didn’t know all of the lyrics they did their best, the rest of them happily sang “Take me out to the ball game”, Reid had Lily in his arms as she and (y/n) waved their arms in the air to the rhythm of the baseball classic.
“Take me out to the ballgame, take me out with the crowd, buy me some peanuts and crackerjacks, I don’t care if I ever get back, let me root, root, root for the home team, if they don’t win, it’s a shame, for it’s one, two, three strikes you’re out at the old ball game”
At the end of the game the Nationals had won, leaving the Simmons family, especially the kids very happy, so David and (y/n) weren’t that sad their team had lost if it meant the little ones being happy.
The rest of the gang was also happy at how the day had turned out, as they expected they had a great time, after all, it wasn’t everyday they were able to do this kind of things all of them together.

Chapter 239
Next morning
Trey
I roll over staring at Caden. Why is he in this bed with me? He rolls his naked butt over trying to get a better look at me. I smile. He had smiled once he saw that it was me. I don't know where my mind went but it wasn't right. My son's couldn't ever do without me. They look for me. Wait for me. Get excited to see me.
"Son?" I say grabbing Caden.
"Yes."
I chuckle. "Morning Lane."
He hits the bottom of the bed. "I go see Rose tomorrow."
"You are?"
"Yeah, Mommy take me to see Grandma Rose. Her is."
I smile. He lying. Cammie didn't say that. Lane cuts his eyes towards the bathroom then he drops down out of sight. I lean up looking over the bed at what he is doing. He just had a bunch of cards on the floor. Nothing else.
"Daylan." Cammie snaps.
"I don't know, Mommy."
She sucks her teeth. "What did I say?"
"I don't know." He repeats.
"Pippi?" Lonnie says tapping on the door. "Got you an outfit. Put it on and meet me on the beach. See if you still got it."
He hangs a Walmart bag on the doorknob then he closes the door without hearing an answer. Lane runs to the door grabbing the bag. He digs through the bag.
"My toy?" He whines. "Papa? My toy?"
"Lane!"
He throws the bag behind him going out of the door crying. That's between him and whoever said his name out there. Little bratty butt boy. I glance down at Caden he was sleeping hard. I lay him down by my legs. His eyes pop open and look directly at me. He pouts. I pick him back up.
"Tremaine?"
"Jayla, Baby."
She smacks the bag picking it up. "Do I act like my son? Why does he act like that?"
I chuckle. "Baby, why you mad at the bag?"
"Workout clothes?" She snaps. "He just assume I..."
"Mommy, shoes." Lane says coming in the room acting like they heavy. "Papa said put you shoes on. Now."
Cammie storms out without saying anything. Lane goes about his business. Whatever business that might be. He obviously not upset so he got what he wanted. I lean back cuddling Caden. Let them run about doing stuff. Me and Caden gonna sleep.
"Daddy open." Lane says now at the bed.
"Lane, I told you I would open it." Cammie says nicely from across the room.
"Daddy open it." Lane says pushing something closer to me.
I sit up leaving Caden in the bed. He stays sleep.
"Lane, I love you." Cammie says.
"Love you, Mommy." He says then runs over to her. "Come give you kisses?"
She sucks her teeth. "I thought you said you didn't know what I said, Daylan. You knew what I said all along. Why you acting like that?"
He grabs her neck shoving his face into hers. They just stay like that as I open the mini pancakes in a bag. I feel them. They were warm. I guess he got them from somebody. They had cooked them.
"Jay, Lonnie said stop being a chicken." Rollie says. "Aye, Trey. They cooked breakfast. Fucking Charleston's finest in the kitchen. So she thinks."
Rollie puts a big monster truck down on the floor. I sigh. We left that shit in Georgia for a damn reason. Why the fuck they go and buy him a new monster truck? It turns him into a monster. Loud and energetic. He let's go of Cammie spinning around happy.
"My truck." He sings.
"Rollie." Cammie whines.
Rollie shrugs. "Debra, yo mama, ordered it offline cause Lane said he lost it at the other house. He said real house I think."
"Spoiled by the other family too?" I laugh as both Cammie and Lane leave out. Cammie is going to her mother to fuss about that truck.
"And you seen Cammie?"
I laugh. "Aye, she asked me if Lane acts like her like she wants me to kill myself."
"Pause." Rollie says stepping in the room. "You not thinking..."
"Man, fuck you. Make a joke out of everything."
Rollie shrugs. "If you need to talk about your feelings."
"Let's talk about you growing up in that family getting everything you want and getting bullied for making all A's in school until you..."
"What you say, Mama?" He says walking out the room.
I laugh then lay down with Caden. I don't know my wife's family like I thought. I might not know my damn wife like I thought. She hid her family and now it seems like for no reason. Nothing is like she said it was or I assumed. I never cared about who raised her and who she wanted to impress.
"Caden?" I say looking at him as he kicks me. He stops staring at me then he start kicking me again. "You know your name?"
"Daddy." Lane says at the door. "You eat your food?"
I pick Caden up. "I'm coming."
"Thank you, sir." JJ giggles from the hallway. "Lane, that you truck? Lane?"
"JJ!" Lane yells. "Go get you... JJ come here."
I step into the hall. Lane is sitting on the truck. JJ was running down the hall. Lane gets up running after him. He grabs JJ as JJ stops and slams into him. They both fall out on the floor.
"Lane!" JJ snaps getting up. "Ouch. I telling."
"No." Lane cries.
JJ helps Lane up. "Okay. Okay. I not tell. You sorry?"
"Grandma got you truck."
"For me?"
Lane runs towards Debra's room. Please don't have two trucks. I walk into her room behind the boys. She had two more boxes opening them. This lady had 3 fucking monster trucks. I shake my head walking out. Cammie must not have seen that. They about to tear this house up with those trucks.
Cammie
"So I feel bad about how I acted." Amber says as I walk pass her. "I don't think you should leave cause of... sorry."
I fold my arms across my chest. "Nobody worried about you and your bratty ass."
"Me bratty, Camilla? Okay."
"Eww." I say walking out of the house onto the patio.
"Good morning." Lonnie says.
I cross my arms. "I run on the beach all the time."
"I run in heels all the time."
"And you look ridiculous." I say walking away.
"Rollie?" Lonnie says surprised. "Good morning."
I turn around looking to see where Rollie was. He was standing on the other side of the pool with Jordan. Rollie looks at Lonnie then he looks at me. I smile at him. He nods his head up towards the sky.
"Sup?" Rollie says.
"Jordan?" Lonnie says once again surprised. "Morning, Doll."
"Good morning, Pop." She says sad. "I lost my favorite shoes."
Lonnie nods. "Maybe Lane has seen them. He is a jokester. A very clever one."
Jordan jumps over the chair she was near. "I bet you Lane has them."
"It's always difficult to talk about personal issues with people who should already know how you feel." Lonnie says then he starts walking towards the beach. "How long has it been?"
"Since?"
He smirks. "Since I beat your ass and ran longer than you?"
I laugh. "Lame. Never."
He starts jogging down the beach. I don't remember the last time that we went running. Last time we ran I was about to start my sophomore year in college. We used to go on daily runs during the summer. We started a year after he married my mother. Lonnie has always just been there. Never trying to be my father just always trying to help me through whatever I was going through. He became my dance couch even though he couldn't tap his finger on beat. He carried my equipment and shined my boats when I was on the marching band. He cheered for me even after cursing my coach out for making us wear hooker clothes and doing slutty dances. I stop running. He throws his hands up in the air.
"Less than a mile!" He cheers.
"I got Mommy issues." I say crossing my arms to hold my breasts.
He continues to do a two step. "Hell yeah for karma. Getting old and responsibilities."
"Shut up." I say turning back to the house.
"What happened?" He asks coming up as I start to cry.
He hugs me. "Too harsh? We softened up too?"
"No Lame-o." I cry. "Get off of me."
"Can't talk?"
"I was thinking about life and everything that... How could he be so stupid Lonnie? I would do anything to stop my son from feeling like I did. I went as far as keeping his father from him cause I didn't want him to feel like I felt. How could he selfishly set out to make my son feel like that? Just so stupid."
Lonnie rubs my shoulder. "Men are weak baby. Women hype us up. Give us more credit and responsibility than we are capable of. He is stupid for misjudging his ability. But you can't blame him for being human. We not perfect. That's why we need God."
"We really talking about church right now?"
"When the last time you been as a family? I am inviting you to church cause that's your answer. God. No man is going to fix your problem. You need God. Your husband needs forgiveness that only God can give him. Being so weak. You can only fix a wound temporarily but it takes God to heal a wound that deep."
I suck my teeth. "Should I say Amen? Choir?"
He chuckles hitting my arms. "Stop being a faggot. Let's run another mile."
"Did you call me a faggot?" I yell.
"A queer? Maybe I need to pray."
"You do. You cant say those words like that." I snap walking back to the house. "I can't do this. I didn't pump first. You go pray."
He claps his hands behind me. "With your husband?"
I glance back at him. "He is a religious person, Lame. Maybe he will pray with you."
"I will invite myself to talk with him about his problems. Instruct him on a plan to get back in church. Give him a prayer."
"You do that Frank." I shrug.
He catches up with me. "I'm really here because I heard about what happened a few years ago. I mean I heard about your husband last night. It seems like a lot to dump on a person but we have to talk about it. I suggest..."
"I pray?"
"No. Give me the names." He says like duh.
I shake my head. "No."
"Because your husband is famous?"
"Because they are famous." I say low. "It's too much. They have lawyers and public reps that make sure stuff like that stays hidden. No."
He puts his hands on his hips. "They don't know me."
"I said no."
"I'll do it my way, Pippi. So you don't want my prayer?"
"Be my husband's preacher. You creepy."
He laughs unnecessarily hard. "Lane told me to shut up with my long prayer."
"When did my baby say that?"
"I was on the phone with a member of the church praying for her father this morning. He said Pop, don't take a long time. Be quiet."
I roll my eyes and start walking. "Y'all let my baby say whatever his grown self wants. He is 2. That was disrespectful."
"I supposed to do what to him for expressing himself? He didn't want to hear my prayer about being sick."
"Like you beat your daughter. Pop why is she in Georgia not raising her daughter? Her bad daughter at that?"
He sucks his teeth. "I gave her to God."
"God the one gave her to you. No take backs. She your daughter. She needs to raise her child herself. When I finish with this dancing show I'm going to get that little girl and straighten her butt out. Nobody act like they can handle her."
"Congratulations on that. I saw your commercial and I recorded. Played it for the church. We going to have a night dedicated to your show. Make revival short."
I roll my eyes. "Don't make God mad at me."
"He gone be mad cause Imma be praying while watching."
"You really, Lame."
He giggles like I gave him a compliment. I keep walking towards the house.

Loving Her: Alex Morgan - Chapter 16
(Y/N) POV:
I woke to banging on the door as I noticed Alex still fast asleep next to me. I quickly got out of bed and went to open the door. I glared as it revealed Christen and Tobin both giving me small smiles.
“What the hell are you two doing here?”
“We have to go soon so we figured that we could do like last minute shopping or get lunch or something.” Christen said with a grin as I shook my head.
“Plus, a lot of the girls are still wanting to celebrate the win so…they’re drinking and we know that as long as Alex is drinking you won’t be.” Tobin said with a small smile as I frowned at both of them.
“That’s unfair.” I said as they grinned at me.
“It’s only a matter of time until Kelley finds her way here so…”
“I hate that you’re right.” I mumbled as they both grinned at me. “Let me get her up and dressed and shit.”
“Glad you see it our way.” Christen said as I flipped her off before slamming the door shut. I turned and walked back into the room as I saw Alex snuggled up into the pillows. I smiled softly as she continued to sleep away. I decided to let her sleep a little bit as I started getting our stuff together so we would be ready to leave later. I took a quick shower and got dressed before finishing packing up my stuff.
Once I made sure all our stuff was put together, I made sure she had clothes and stuff to wear for the day before checking the time. I had maybe another 20 minutes before someone comes to bother us again. I set some water and medicine on the bed side table for when she was awake. Then, I walked over to the bed and laid down next to her. I nudged her a little and smiled when she started to wake up.
“Morning Love.” I said as she opened her eyes and stared at me with a blank look before a small smile covered her face.
“Morning.” Her voice was raspier than usual which caused me to melt just a little inside. I watched as she glanced around. She had shut her eyes and turned her head burying into the pillow a little. She was most definitely hungover.
“How you feel?” I asked joking as she turned and frowned at me. I grinned at her as her frown turned into a scowl. I don’t think she was finding the same humor that I had in this.
“My head hurts.” She groaned as I nodded my head.
“I assume it would…you definitely drank at least three times your body weight yesterday.” I said as she sent me a small glare. “There’s some medicine right there for you.”
She turned her head before smiling a little. She reached over and took the medicine I left and popping the pills in her mouth before drinking some water. She downed the water before looking back at me with a small pout. I opened my arms leaning back against the headboard before she crawled into them. She rested her head on my chest as I wrapped my arms around her.
To be honest, I am a little surprised that she isn’t like throwing up or some shit. I scratched her back a little as I watched her try to fight sleep. I knew I probably shouldn’t let her go back to sleep but she was so damn adorable.
“Alex…” I said softly as the forward looked up at me. “You need to go shower and get dressed. We have to go soon.”
“No…” she whined burying her head into my shoulder. “Sleep…”
“We’re gonna go get food.” She gave me a small look as she seemed to weigh if food was worth getting up for. Ultimately, her empty stomach must have won out because she stood up grabbing everything I had left for her and headed into the bathroom. I chuckled to myself a little bit as I went on my phone looking at social media.
I had a shit ton of new followers and had been being praised for my performance during the tournament. I loved the attention I was getting for my skills, but I was also vaguely aware of what people would be saying about my family and about my relationship with Alex. I wasn’t expecting her to kiss me, but it wasn’t unwelcome. I love her and I don’t really care who knows it. I want the world to know she is mine and I am hers.
I keep forgetting that not everyone is aware that she and I are married. At this point, I don’t know how everyone will react considering no one was really a part of our decision to do that. Obviously, I predict that most people are going to be upset and have hurt feelings. In my defense, I hadn’t anticipated Alex straight up proposing to me. I don’t regret the decision though. I know how hard it must have been for her considering everything that happened with Servando. He broke her heart in the worst way. Anyone would be lucky to be with her and the fact that I get to do that with her for the rest of my life…well I am one lucky son of a bitch.
I glanced up when she exited the bathroom. Her hair was damp, but she was fully dressed. I smiled slightly knowing she looked good. I mean…I picked her outfit so obviously she was going to look good. She moved around the room putting her stuff away and making sure everything was packed as I continued looking through social media.
Once she was done, she came over and laid on the bed with me. She pulled me closer pressing her lips to mine. I melted into her as she grinned into the kiss. I leaned my forehead onto hers as we stared into each other’s eyes.
“Thank you.” She said softly as I smiled at her a little.
“For what?”
“Taking care of me. Giving me medicine. Helping pack my stuff. Just being here I guess.” She said as I kissed her again.
“You don’t need to thank me for those kinds of things.” I said as she tilted her head a little. “Alex…I’m always going to be there for you. No matter what the situation.”
“I don’t know what I did to deserve you, but I thank god that I have you.” She said as I leaned forward kissing her again.
We spent the next few minutes discussing what was going to be happening the next few days before we heard knocking on our door. I stood and walked over towards it pulling it open.
“Hello!!” Kelley said walking in with a giant grin. She had a drink her hand and honestly, I shouldn’t be surprised. “It is a beautiful day and we are World Cup Champions!”
“Have you been cleared for your concussion?” I asked as the defender faltered a little sending me a small glare.
“Not important.” She said as I frowned in disapproval. Alex also had a small frown on her face.
“Kelley you need to go to the doctor and stop drinking.” Alex said as I nodded my head. “Don’t make me call your girlfriend.”
“That’s cruel first of all…but fine I will go to the medical staff just to get everyone to shut up.” She rolled her eyes before exiting the room.
“I really worry about her all the time.” I said as Alex nodded her head. Alex stood and came towards me giving me another kiss.
“She’s going to drop one day I swear…”
I nodded my head as my phone dinged. I had a text from Christen telling me that they were all going to meet downstairs for brunch. It was more of a command which had me rolling my eyes.
“Want to get some food?” I asked Alex who nodded grabbing her phone. She intertwined our fingers pulling me towards the door as we headed down to meet up with everyone. It didn’t take us long as we found our friends and took seats with them at the restaurant at the hotel we were at.
“It doesn’t feel real.” Lindsay said as I nodded my head. It didn’t feel like we had just won the World Cup.
“Well it is! We won the world cup! World champions.” Sonnett said with a grin as I smiled at their excitement.
“I’m just excited to go home. Those beds aren’t as comfortable as mine is.” I said as everyone nodded to that.
“Amen to that.” Pinoe said as she took a sip of her drink. We continued eating and talking as we just enjoyed the time that were getting right then. I knew we had to leave soon and most of us were excited to head back to the states. I haven’t really thought about how different things are going to be when we get back.
“You know you guys are really the talk of the team, right?” Ash said looking at Alex and I as I frowned. “Your kiss apparently melted hearts around the world…”
I looked to Alex who had a slight tint to her cheeks indicating that she was blushing. I smiled and leaned over kissing her cheek. She grinned at me as she rested her head on my shoulder.
“Y’all melted my heart…” Mal said as I laughed at her. I turned when Kelley entered the room. She sat down next to Allie and Tobin and grinned triumphantly at all of us.
“Just so you assholes know…I am cleared and fine and ready to continue the celebrations.”
“Good. I’m glad that you get to drink still…” I said sarcastically as she flipped me off.
“I am healthy as can be…so suck it…” she said as I chuckled
“Sorry for being concerned about your health.” Christen said as I nodded my head along with the forward.
“I would prefer you didn’t die before we get back to the states…I mean I think it would be cause for an international incident.” Becky said as most of us laughed.
We continued eating and chatting about how hectic the next couple of weeks would be with having to do so much media. The consensus was everyone was super excited about the ticker tape as well as the ESPYs. Alex was nominated for an espy as was the whole team. I don’t want to sound cocky but given how we did this summer I would say we are a shoe in. So is Alex at this point.
Eventually, we all were done and headed back up to our rooms to do some last-minute packing or cleaning up. We then gathered our stuff as we exited the hotel and got on the bus to go to the airport.
“Look what I found…” JJ said as she passed me the world cup trophy. I grinned and gave it a kiss as Alex smiled at me. I winked at her as I passed the trophy back to JJ who then started passing it around to a bunch of other people.
The ride to the airport was short as we then waited to get on the plane. I was sat next to Alex who had been passed the trophy. She was cuddling it as the camera came up to her. I laughed at her calling the trophy a best friend as we then boarded the plane not long after that. The ride was going to be about 11 hours, so I was hoping to get a little bit of sleep.
As predicted, everyone had started drinking again including Alex. I drank a little bit but not nearly as much as the rest of them. There was no way I was going to try to catch up to Pinoe and Kelley because they are straight up hammered. Alex wasn’t completely hammered but she was definitely getting there. Sonnett too.
The flight seemed to pass by quickly especially when you consider how much fun we were all having. I got Alex to sleep for a little bit so she wouldn’t be a mess when we got to New York. I had also found pretty good conversations with Christen and Becky. Christen had joked with me about Pinoe telling everyone about Alex and I being married which had only started to make me slightly paranoid. Damn her.
“We’re home!!!” Sonnett yelled as the plane came to a stop. I chuckled when Lindsay hit her on the leg trying to get her to sit down. Mal and Rose just both were laughing at them as Tierna had her phone out filming the whole encounter. I shook my head at them deciding I didn’t want to get involved in their antics.
It took a little bit for us to be allowed off the plane as there were a ton of media outside. They wanted to get through all the boring stuff so that we could just leave after we got off. I glanced out the window seeing all the cameras set up and knowing that it was all for us. It was an odd thought.
“Nervous?” I turned towards Ali who gave me a soft smile.
“I don’t get nervous.” I said as she raised an eyebrow at me.
“Do you really expect me to believe that?” I smiled and shook my head. We both knew it wasn’t true.
“It’s different than when we left. I feel different.” I admitted causing the defender to give me another soft smile.
“Sweetie…you are different…what you have been through since we left is unimaginable.” I nodded my head knowing she was right. We had all been through so much since we left. We shouldn’t expect to be completely the same.
“I don’t know if I am ready for everyone to know everything about me.”
“(Y/N) you’re one of the strongest people I have had the privilege of knowing. I don’t actually believe that you would let anyone, or anything bring down your spirits at this point.”
“Yeah.” I nodded my head as we were told we could start exiting the plane. It didn’t take us long as we took a group picture. I grimaced as I continued watching Alex down drinks. Though, watching Pinoe literally pouring alcohol down her throat was slightly amusing. Eventually, we were able to leave as we were off to do a little media. I had got sent with Kelley which was both great and an utter nightmare.
“This is so much fun. Stop complaining.” Kelley said as I chuckled at her bright personality.
“I’m not complaining.” I said as Kelley rolled her eyes. We had just finished all the media we had to do for the day. We were going to meet some of the other girls. Alex was included thankfully. I thought doing media was bad for me, but it was an actual horror story for her. I wouldn’t want to be in her shoes.
We were escorted to where the other girls were. I know Christen and them were here, but they were staying away from all the girls who were being rowdy. Something about needing a break. I mean…that’s fair. Kelley had left me to go change into a swimsuit because of the pool and needing a tan. I smiled when I spotted Alex sitting talking to Crystal and Sam. I came up behind her and slid into the spot next to her throwing my arm around her. She jumped a little but then grinned at me.
“Welcome to the party” Crystal said as I smiled at her.
“You’re not going to change?” Sam asked as I shook my head.
“No. I’m content to just watch everyone.” I said as they all groaned.
“Get into the excitement.” Sam said as standing up. “You need to get on my level,”
“I might die trying to get to your level.” I admitted as she shrugged heading towards the pool.
“You good?” I asked Alex who nodded her head. She gave me a kiss as Crystal got up to go talk to Pinoe and Krashlyn.
“I missed you.” Alex said quietly as I raised an eyebrow at her.
“We were separated for a few hours.”
“Too long.” She said as I chuckled.
“I don’t know how you’re going to survive when we go back to our clubs.”
“Ugh…don’t remind me.” She said frowning at me as I kissed her again. “I won’t survive.”
“You will. We’ll be okay.” I said as she nodded.
“I know but doesn’t mean I will like it.” I nodded along to her statement.
“I don’t expect you too.” I said as Kelley came out yelling about wanting to be in the pool. Alex got up to go hang out with Kelley as I searched for Christen. I grinned when I found the forward. She was lounging talking to Tierna, Becky, and Tobin. I joined the group as they all smiled at me.
“How was your media?”
“Boring.” I replied quickly getting amused smiles in return.
We all sat talking for a little bit. The rest of the day was seeming like it was going to pass by quickly. As everyone seemed they were going to be wanting to leave, I quickly pulled Alex aside.
“I want to take you somewhere, but we need to be alone when we go.” I said as she nodded her head. I don’t think she knew where I was taking her, but I know she knows I am serious about needing to be alone.
It took a little bit of effort to get everyone to let us go on our own but eventually we were able to sneak off as I dragged Alex into a jewelry store that wasn’t too far from our hotel. Alex’s eyes had immediately been filled with realization upon us entering the store. She grinned at me as we both started looking for what we wanted for our rings.
We had already discussed prior to leaving France that we would get rings for each other as soon as possible. I knew it was something that we didn’t necessarily need, but I know it would mean so much to be able to wear them. Like I said, I want everyone to know she’s mine.
“I like this one. What do you think?” I looked at the one she had put on as I smiled and then looked at her. I found myself admiring at the fact that she was even my wife. I was getting to buy rings for my wife and I.
“I think it’s perfect.” I said staring at Alex who blushed before telling the woman who had been helping us that it was the one, she wanted. It didn’t take us long to find my ring because to be honest I wasn’t that picky. The ring I got complimented the one Alex had got so…that’s all that really mattered. We had agreed that we wouldn’t wear them in public just yet until more people knew. I give it a day before she forgets, and everyone knows. I don’t know how funny she thought it was when I told her that though.
After we left, we made our way back to the hotel. We had a big day tomorrow. GMA and more media to do. I knew it was going to be exhausting for her and so she needed to get some rest tonight. It didn’t take us long to get into bed and to fall asleep. The travel and activities were starting to really weigh on our bodies. I could definitely feel it in my body at least.
The next day was another bright and early morning as we got ourselves ready to go to GMA. I could tell everyone was super pumped and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t somewhat excited about it. It didn’t take us long to get there as we did the little group interview before we were all pulled away from each other again to go off and do our respective interviews. Once again, I ended up with Kelley. She was a little more tolerable which was a blessing.
The day was long, and I knew the next day was going to be even longer. We had the ticker tape parade in the morning as well as getting keys to the city. Then, we had to get on a plane and go to the ESPYs immediately after that.
The media seemed to drag on as we finally got back to the hotel. Kelley had immediately abandoned me to go talk to her girlfriend on the phone. Alex was gone still doing media which sucked but I understood completely. I groaned when my phone started ringing as I entered my hotel room. It was an unknown number as I furrowed my eyebrows and answered it.
“Hello?”
“(Y/N)” I froze immediately closing my eyes. I recognized the voice, but it still felt strange to hear it. “Are you there?”
“How’d you get this number?” I asked immediately trying to stop myself from freaking out.
“A friend…I don’t want to cause issues I just want to talk.” She said as I swallowed the lump that was trying to form in my throat.
“We have nothing to talk about.” I said as I heard her sigh.
“I know you want nothing to do with me or anyone in this family…I just want to talk to you or maybe see you if you would allow that…”
“Why should I? After everything I’ve been through recently…”
“It’s not fair of me to ask you…but in my defense I had no idea dad was going to do that.” She said as I nodded my head. That’s convenient.
“Yeah…well that doesn’t change anything. He still went on national television and said what he said…do you know what it feels like to be called an abomination by your own father?” I asked her knowing she could never relate to my situation.
“Look…I know you’re upset, and I wish I could change things. I miss you. I miss having you in my life. I have kids now and I know that they would love to know you…I don’t know when the next time you’ll be in LA but I would love to see you. Just think about it okay?”
“Maybe…” I said as I heard her sigh into the phone. I bit my lip wishing she would get off the phone. “I’ll let you go now. If you decide that you would like to see each other, this is the number you can reach me at. Just shoot me a text.”
“Okay.” I said as I waited for her to hang up.
“Goodbye I love you.” She said as I nodded my head a little and tried to ignore the pain in my chest at her saying she loved me.
“Goodbye.” I said as I hung up and tossed my phone on the bed. I stood for a moment thinking about everything that was going in my head.
On the one hand, I would love to see my sister. She was the one that used to make me feel most comfortable when I was younger. She didn’t turn her back on me until the very end. She still turned her back on me though. Would I have made the same decision though? Where would I be if she hadn’t done that? I don’t like to consider what my life would be if things had been different. My life is perfect the way it is now. I have a beautiful wife and some great friends and an overall amazing family of my own.
I know in my heart that all of that stuff is enough for me. I know I am content regardless of if I see her. The curiosity is killing me though. What could she possibly want besides just seeing me? If its money, I really don’t have any. I have nothing that she could want. Maybe she really does just want to see me.
I jumped slightly when the door opened and in walked Alex. She looked tired as she looked at me and immediately stopped and adopted a concern gaze.
“What’s wrong?” she asked as I frowned.
“Nothing. Why do you think somethings wrong?” I asked defensively as she gave me a weird look.
“You’re crying.” She said as I brought my hand up to my face. Sure, enough I had tears going down my face.
“Fuck me…I am fine.” I mumbled as she frowned coming closer to me.
“What happened? Talk to me.” Her concern only seemed to grow as she sat next to me.
“My sister called.” I said knowing there was no way to keep it a secret. “She wants to see me the next time I am in LA.”
“Did she say why?” she asked with a confused expression.
“No…just that she wants to see me.” I said nodding my head as Alex shot me a more confused look.
“Are you going to go see her? Do you want to see her?”
“I don’t know…I mean I want to know what she wants but I just don’t know…”
“You don’t have to know right now…think about it. If it’s something you want to do, then you should go. If not, then don’t do it.” She said as I nodded my head. She’s right. “I’m with you no matter what.”
“I know. I love you.”
“I love you too.” She smiled kissing me as I smiled into it. Just as things were starting to go somewhere there was banging on our door.
“Alex! (Y/N)! Open the door! EXPLAIN THESE GODDAMN RINGS!” Allie’s voice traveled through the door as Alex grimaced. I shot her an amused look as she scowled at me.
“I fucking knew it…” I grinned getting an eye roll from the girl.
Well…time to explain being married to everyone.

Of Books, Brothers, and Broadway (Creativitwins College AU) Chapter Two!!!
Word Count: 3814
TW: Remus, Janus, ocean creatures, I.E. octopus, swearing, I think thats it?
Pairings: pining logince and dukeceit right now, mentioned established moxiety.
Notes: This is pages 4-11 of a current 24. I can like, literally not stop writing this it is a stream of consciousness and I haven’t felt this productive or creative in such a long time. We meet the other 5 in this finally! At this point with 24 pages I think the title should be Of Books, Brothers, Broadway, and Boys. So there’s a little hint. Listen I’m just desperate for soft.
Summary: Roman and Remus are trying to write a musical all while juggling their college courses and jobs. Remus and Roman both inadvertently end up introducing their friend group to their brother and two are pining hard for their brothers best friend. Meanwhile, Remus talks to his boss and gets some news that makes his day.
“Hiya Roman!!! Hey wait up a sec!”
Roman was walking through campus when he heard Patton trying to grab his attention over his headphones. He pulled the headset off his head and turned towards the energetic friend who was racing to catch him.
“Howdy Popstar! I missed you last period, where were you?”
Patton panted softly as he tried to catch his breath. He finally smiled up at Roman.
“Oh yeah, my boyfriend is at home sick and I lost track of time. I didn’t even think about it until his phone alarm went off for his online class, what did I miss?”
“Oh nothing much, another duet skit, lucky for you, you got paired with me!”
“Oh boy, what skit?”
“I’ll give you the packet when we get to class, but it's from midsummer nights”
“Ohhhh I love that play!!!”
Roman was just about to bring up the musical he and Remus had started, being called the magicians notebook, when JJ walked up. He gave a casual peace sign and Patton waved.
“What's up with our favorite preps today?”
“Well actually I was just about to tell Patton about this musical-”
Jay decided to jump in front of them, now walking backwards as he stared at Roman with barely restrained joy.
“Musical you say? What’s it called? Who made it? Do I know about it?”
Roman chuckled.
“It's actually one me and my brother are making”
“YOU'RE MAKING A MUSICAL!?”
Roman couldn't hold back the loud laughter at JJ’s response, he doubled over laughing, still smiling widely as JJ was bouncing on his heels and Patton stared at him in awe.
“Wow, you and your brother are making a musical?”
“Roman I don't think I have to explain to you just how mother fucking rad that is, I think you know that already, but whats it about? Do you have any songs yet? Do you have a name yet? Who's your brother? I have so many questions Roman I can't believe I wasn't the first person you told!!!”
“You were you dork! You and Patton are currently the only ones who know about it!”
“I need answers Roman!”
“Salutations Remus. I presume you got your portion of the assignment done… 2 minutes ago?”
Remus rushed to his seat as their professor started class. He rubbed the back of his neck and laughed nervously.
“Am I that obvious Shakespeare?”
Logan stared at him emotionlessly. He looked him over then leaned his head on his hand.
“You are barely on time, cluing me in that you were preoccupied with something and lost track of time, your bag is still open, likely due to you shoving your laptop in it hurriedly without double checking the zipper, and of course, you looked sheepish as you sped in, hinting that you were doing something you weren't supposed to be doing slash doing something you were supposed to have done earlier last minute, instead of proud like you do when you were wasting your time on something you felt justified in taking your time on”
Remus shrunk. Logan could always read him like an open book, though it was his fault for befriending the psychology major he supposes. He felt ready to be completely humiliated as Logan smirked and pulled up his phone.
“And of course, the text I got from you an hour ago warning me that you might run late because of the assignment was a nice bonus”
Remus felt his cheeks redden as he remembered messaging him. He probably shouldn't be so surprised and attacked and yet he turned his face towards their professor with a huff as he pulled out his notebook and textbook. He was startled out of his thoughts as he heard the hall door open suddenly. He turned towards the noise and snickered as he saw Virgil clambering towards them as quietly as possible.
“Mr. Storm I would appreciate that if you are late to class you attempt to cause less of a distraction to the rest of your peers”
“Y-yes sir, I’ll keep that in mind”
Remus had to cover his mouth as Virgil squeezed past them and took the spot on the other side of him. He gave him a quick look and went back to the text. A small piece of paper slipped in front of him as Virgil unpacked that asked if he had missed anything. Remus shook his head idly. The three kept quiet until the teacher released them. As they packed up, Logan started a conversation.
“What made you late Virge?”
“Huh? Oh, I'm not feeling great, I woke up feeling like shit. I was originally going to just stay home sick, but I remembered our project so here I am I guess”
“Oh, Vee, you could've texted us, you didn't have to come if you were dying”
“Meh, I spent too much on this class to miss it. Especially since it's one of my prereqs. I’ll survive”
“Well I guess if you're gonna be here we might as well take advantage of it. I don't have any more classes today, you guys want to get some writing done?”
“I suppose that would be amenable”
“Sure, but I need some caffeine first, haven't had any at all today”
“Good god how were you able to drive here?”
“I can function without coffee if I get enough sleep. I also am simply not addicted”
“Well that is ridiculous, you must not be human. But I could go for a soda right now. Want me to take orders and meet you guys at the library?”
“Lit. you know what I want”
“Oh my god, somebody needs to take your flashcards”
“If you like having 5 fingers on each hand I would recommend you not do that”
Remus was getting annoyed with his brother. He was quietly ranting on the phone at him in the study room he had booked with Logan and Virgil.
“Roman, I literally could not give a shit if you told your friends about the musical idea, I was gonna tell mine as well. … so fucking what if its my final? None of your friends are in any of my courses, I'm not scared they're gonna plagiarize me, you trust them, I'm sure that you have half a decent taste in friends. … Listen, I can't deal with all of you right now, I have a collaborative story I'm supposed to be working on, we can deal with this when I get home. Just like, have a glass of your shitty wine and maybe you'll calm down. I gotta go, i’ll see you later”
Logan smirked at him as he hung up. He did the lean again and god Remus could throw him into the wall.
“What's this about a musical I hear? I didn't take you for a song and dance guy”
Remus sighed, brushing his hand through his hair as he sat down in front of his computer.
“I'm not, but my brother is. When we were younger he said that we should make a musical together. And as a man of my word, I've been working on a book for a musical for him. He's already got a couple of songs written up for it and we’re working with it. It's actually not half bad. He may drive me insane, but he's talented at what he does”
Remus had just started typing when his phone alarm went off. His eyes widened and he scrambled to pack up again.
“SHIT!!! I have a meeting with my boss, they're giving me an octopus to care for I can't believe I forgot I'm such an idiot oh shit I'm gonna be late and they won't-”
Logan stopped his hands. He looked him calmly in the eyes with a small smile.
“Hey, we’ll pack for you and drop your stuff off for you, just go and get that octopus Remus”
Remus smiled gratefully and after checking he had his phone and keys, he ran to get home.
“Hello Dr. sanders! Please come in!”
The doctor smiled at him as he stepped inside. He glanced around the area idly with a smile.
“With how energetic and, well, chaotic you are at work I didn't expect your home to be so immaculate!”
“Heheh, yeah I prefer a clean canvas. Sorry not everything is in place, I kinda forgot about this until just a bit ago and had to rush out of a study group. It's usually cleaner than this, well, at least most of it is, my brother is a mess, but he has a completely separate space. Oh boy I’m talking a lot”
“It's fine kid. Mind showing me where you'd be keeping her?”
Remus nodded and led the doctor into his room, and suddenly he felt a little self conscious over all the terrariums in his room. Dr. Sanders paid his full attention to the fish tank.
“This is impressive, it's a nice little ecosystem for all of them, are you sure Cephy won't disrupt them all?”
“Oh! Yes, I did a little research on her breed and none of the fish in there are food for her, nor is she food for. I know she's super friendly and all these guys have been very receptive to new members in the past, my newest one is the angel fish but she doesn't seem to be bothered by bigger creatures. I also have a back up tank for worst case scenarios, and the fish don't bother my brother!”
“Only thing I'd say is, maybe add some driftwood or floating objects for her to lay on”
He then turned to look at the other tanks. He smiled as he saw the lizards scatter a bit. Remus felt like he was about to die.
“These are pretty nice! You have a nice assortment of reptiles here, where'd you get them?”
“Oh, um, just uh, just outside. A good amount of lizard friends come to our patio, and every once in a while they'll like, crawl up to me. My family says I’m the reptile whisperer heh”
“That's intriguing. Most of these species are loner types, were they hurt?”
“Um, some of them were, got beat up by a local cat or something I think”
“Huh. that's even more fascinating. Anyways, back to the point. You know the rules with Cephy right? You aren't in charge of buying her food or medication until we decide whether or not she can be released. If she doesn't cut it, we will likely have you keep her rather than attempt to remove her from familiarity and then she will become your responsibility alone. She may have an attitude the first few days from moving around, but for the most part she will integrate well I think. If any complications arise, you have my personal number, and I think that's it! We will send her home with you tomorrow with a week's supplies. Any questions?”
“No sir! Thank you so much, you won't regret this, I swear!”
“Oh, I forgot to tell you last week! We were asked to lower our number of interns!”
“What? Wait why are you telling me this?”
“Well, due to that we had to make some changes, and i'd like to formally offer you a full time job! And of course, by full time, I don't plan on changing your hours unless it works with your school schedule. We would love to keep you as one of our marine biologists once you graduate!”
“I- sir, thank you so much, I, I am so grateful! Wait, does that mean I can get even more hands on experience with the critters? Oh thank you so much!”
“Heh, you're one of our best workers, I figure it might be helpful to have a proper wage. But on that note, I really should be going, I have an appointment in an hour and it's a 45 minute drive from here”
“Oh, yeah! Yes, of course, here, I’ll show you out!”
When Roman got home he didn't expect to have Remus tackle him.
“Whats up Remus?”
“I PASSED!!! SHE'S COMING TOMORROW!!! AND I GOT A PROMOTION!!! ROMAN I GOT A RAISE, I'M GETTING AN EXTRA 5 DOLLARS AN HOUR I CAN'T BELIEVE MY LUCK!!!”
“Holy shit man, maybe you should be paying all the bills now, you make way fuckin more than I do at the cafe!”
“Oh, wait, fuck, Logan and Virgil are coming by fuck I gotta clean”
Roman just about died laughing as Remus ran around trying to tidy the place. It was only a few minutes before there was a knock on the door. Roman got it as Remus made a pot of coffee.
“Hello!”
“Hello Remus! We came to return your bag and your soda that you left at the library”
“Logan open your eyes, that's not Remus. Remus has a mustache you fool”
Logan opened his eyes to see Remus. But not Remus, Remus was more scruffy, and he was shorter, Remus was only a little taller than him, but the not Remus in front of him towered a good several inches over him. And the biggest difference to Logan, was Remus had auburn eyes, almost red, the not Remus in front of him had bright green eyes. Logan felt his cheeks redden. He looked down sheepishly after having stared.
“My apologies, you must be Remus’ brother. My name is Logan and this is Virgil”
“Well hello there Logan and Virgil, my name is Roman. Please, come in”
“Roman STOP FLIRTING!!!”
The two stepped in and laughed as Roman shouted back.
“I LITERALLY JUST SAID HELLO AND MY NAME OH MY GOD”
Logan and Virgil wandered in, meeting Remus in the living room, greeting them with a smile and cups of coffee. The two took them graciously and sat down at Remus’ request. While Remus stayed in the kitchen as he searched for snacks in the cabinet, Roman leaned against the wall, giving the guests a quick look over. He smiled faintly as he saw the glasses clad one, Logan he reminded himself, turn red at the attention.
“Roman did you ever go to the store and get what I asked you for?”
“Of course not, you didn't give me a list and I prefer to keep our phone calls to twice a month and I was out of calls”
“You're an idiot”
“Yeah I sorta went into the least brainy major I could find. You're supposed to be the brainy one”
Remus sighed as he brought out a plate of fruits and chips and dip. He shot a glare at Roman's smirk.
“What are you smirking about now?”
“Oh nothing, just a little offended that you hid your cute friends from me”
Roman nearly sputtered after the words left his mouth as Logan turned bright red. Virgil just rolled his eyes at him and Remus looked just about ready to smash his glass of coffee over Roman's head, but he stayed resolute.
“Roman, can't you just go flirt with a random tree? Or one of my lizards! Keith would love a boyfriend!”
“I would rather make out with an octopus”
“Well duh! Octopi are great kissers!”
“God you and Jay would get along so well I really need to introduce you two”
“Yeah sure I would, with one of your theatre nerd friends”
Virgil then sat up a bit. He looked between the twins with a grin.
“Oh wait, theatre nerds? You wouldn't happen to be the Roman my boyfriend keeps telling me about?”
“Depends, who is he?”
“Patton Corwyn”
“Oh fuck yeah! He's one of my best friends!”
“Then I agree with him, you would love Jay”
Remus grumbled something into his coffee. He sent another glare towards Roman as he set down his cup.
“Roman I know you don't know anything about courtesy, but you are making my friends uncomfortable, could you go do your messy things in your room or something?”
“Wait we aren't-”
“Lucky for you I've got a shift at the cafe in a bit, I just gotta change. Nice meeting you Logan, Virgil, see you later rem”
Roman gave a finger salute before diving into his room. Logan almost felt sad at his departure. He tried to focus back on his coffee and his computer screen but Virgil nudged him and sent him a knowing smirk. He glared at his screen instead.
“Does our bookworm have a crush?”
“Oh please do not have a crush on him he’ll be so cocky and dumb!”
“I, I don't have a crush, shut up, your apartment is just really warm. Shut up!”
He angrily typed away as the other two giggled at his bright cheeks. A door opened and Logan turned to see, and he really shouldn't have turned to see. Roman was wearing black slacks, a red button up shirt and a black half apron. And who said he was allowed to be so attractive? Roman gave him a quick wink before looking over at Remus.
“Is it my night for dinner?”
“Yes”
“K, I’ll text you when my shift is done and get your order. See you later”
“Cool, k, leave! I'm trying to study!”
“Ok ok!”
Logan wasn’t free of the teasing until he finally left.
“Good afternoon! Welcome to Dream Bean! What can I get for you today?”
“Hiya Roman! Strawberry acai with extra whipped cream large please?”
“Ah, Patton, I see your taste remains a slave to the pink drink, it'll be right up!”
“Don't shame me! It's sweet and healthy!”
“And has no caffeine, but I’ll leave it be, promise”
“Oh, and a blueberry muffin!”
“Alrighty! That'll be 7 dollars!”
Roman loved his job. The dream bean coffee shop had higher prices than the local Starbucks, but they had better drinks and food in his humble opinion. The college students in the town were spoiled, they got discounts at the place and most alumni swore by the little shop. It was a staple of the town, and Roman had been coming to it for as long as he can remember. He paid no attention to the fact that both his friends had decided to nestle in a corner of the little shop far longer than they were technically supposed to. That is, until he clocked out, making himself a cafe mocha before popping over to the booth the two had stolen away to. He raised his eyebrow at them as he took a sip of his drink.
“What brings you two here?”
“Can't we just want some of the best coffee in the world?”
“Considering Patton didn't get coffee, and from the looks of it you got a hot chocolate with a shot of espresso, no, no you can't”
“Ok so we wanted to know more about your musical! Sue us!”
“Hmm, how about I tell you about it on a walk, if Patton tells me why he didn't mention that his boyfriend is friends with my brother. And why you didn't introduce me to Logan”
“Deal!”
Patton giggled as he brought his new cup of coffee to his lips. He and Virgil stood and followed Roman out the door.
“I didn't know your brother and Vee were friends! He must be Remus then right?”
“Mhmm. whole family of mythology names, my uncle's name is Romulus”
“Hmm! I haven't actually met him, Virgil doesn't bring his friends over a lot. But why are you more upset about not knowing about Logan?”
“I mean, hes hot as fuck, would’ve liked to talk t him more but I had to leave for work before I could say much more than hello or goodbye. He looks smart. Wouldn't take him for a creative writing guy”
“Oh he's a psych major, he wants to write scientific journals and studies and stuff. There wasn't a minor choice for journalism, so he figured creative writing would fulfill the same things. He's actually really talented, he writes lots of sci-fi and fantasy things, he's a huge nerd, but he's really sweet”
“He blushed at like anything I said, it was adorable. Remus almost killed me”
“Ok as much as I love hearing your tea on guys, I do not care about this near as much as I care about this musical”
Patton and Roman both devolved into a mess of laughter at JJ’s insistence about the musical. Roman pulled out his phone with a grin and gave Jay a sympathetic look.
“Ok, let me text Remus for his dinner order and then I’ll tell you all about it”
Remus just about groaned when he heard keys jingle in the door. He was sprawled across the couch, legs over the top of it and his head and arms draped on the floor. He was even more tempted as he heard more voices mix with his brothers. He shouted across the apartment when the door opened.
“YOU NEED TO STOP EXISTING, LOGAN WOULDN'T STOP THIRSTING OVER YOU THE WHOLE TIME HE WAS HERE!”
“Too bad, he's kinda cute!”
Remus fell off the couch as Roman and his friends walked in. mostly because one of them was hot as balls. He hoped beyond hope that he was the Jay Roman had mentioned from earlier. Jay had a face full of scars on one side of his face, and wore a pastel yellow shirt with a jean vest covered in pins. He also wore a deep yellow beanie. Remus couldn't look away as he stood up again.
“Oh! Uh hello! Roman’s friends!”
The other one smiled brightly, just about as bright as his pastel blue jumper and white suspenders. He held out one hand, the other filled with bags of food. Remus shook his hand.
“Hiya! I'm Patton! And you're the Remus my boyfriend keeps talking about!”
“Hello! That must mean that you are Jay?”
Jay stuttered after actually getting a good look at him. He nodded and smiled back at him.
“You can um, you can call me Janus! If, if you want that is! Um, Roman told us about the musical you two are writing and it's really cool! I uh, I know it's gonna be great!”
Remus grinned, and let out a giggle as Roman leaned on him. Janus hissed at him and swatted at Roman’s arm.
“Be careful not to corrupt this one, he's a baby”
“I AM 19 YEARS OLD YOU MOTHER FUCKER!!!”
“And a freshman. This makes you babey. Regardless, I know you are also a weirdo who loves reptiles, and my brother has a collection that i'm sure he would be delighted to show you”
“repTILES?!”
At that, Janus started bouncing and god, Roman was right, he is babey. Remus grins and nods excitedly as well.
“I can do that! I'd love to show off my babies! But dinner first, I've been begging Roman to let us have Thai food for weeks!”

Are the fortunes of 2020 starting to turn around? Today’s result would suggest so.
Yoooooooooooooooooooooo that was something else, wasn’t it!
Auburn absolutely demolished LSU and exorcised some demons from the past three seasons with a 48-11 victory. Two of the last three years the Tigers blew double-digit leads in falling to LSU, but today Gus Malzahn wanted no part of that. He coached like a guy who feels like he needs to fix the AC vents on his seats. Instead, the most recent national championship head coach was the guy who looked completely lost. Bo Nix had his definite best game as an Auburn Tiger, and the defense was back to the standard we knew and loved from the past few seasons.
Enjoy the highlights before we get immediate reactions from this one:

I guess I’ll give some analysis then. If you would have told people that Tank Bigsby would be held to 71 yards today, you probably don’t like our chances much. But Bo Nix just played his best game as an Auburn Tiger. He made good decisions all afternoon and finally hit Anthony Schwartz on a deep ball for a TD that he’s been trying to do for weeks. 300 yards passing and 81 yards rushing. We saw the Eli Stove of old getting him involved in the short passing game and the Jet Sweep! The offensive line didn’t give up a sack and played well today.
Defensively, that was the best Auburn has played all year. They had a scoop and score, nearly a pick six and held LSU to 32 rush yards. Zakoby McClain, Nehemiah Pritchett and Owen Pappoe deserve extra kudos for their performances.
We also saw Auburn go 99 yards before half for a TD AND score a TD on the first drive of the second half. That hasn’t happened often. Other than the fumble that resulted in a touchback, Auburn punched the ball into the endzone EVERY time they got into the RedZone today. We’ve settled for so many FGs in that situation over the years.
Yes, this LSU team isn’t great and I know there’s been a lot of frustration this year but I’m going to enjoy the heck out of this one and you all should too. This team may have finally figured things out. If you take care of business against Miss State and Tennessee, we’re 6-2 going into the Iron Bowl. Considering where we were 2 weeks ago, I will take that in a heartbeat. War Eagle!

Suck that tiger dick, bitch.
-James Jones
Flawless victory.
-Son of Crow
We all needed that. I don’t know if things are actually fixed or not because LSU is a VERY bad football team despite being loaded with talent but I don’t really care right now. Auburn football was fun again & that’s all that matters. Enjoy this for two weeks. War Damn Eagle.
-AU Nerd
Okay, Gus. I see what you’re doing. You figured things out and we finally realized that this is a run-first team. The first two drives were us checking on what would work, and we saw that we could get some rushing yards and control the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. Then, you add in some quarterback runs, switch backs, and sprinkle in some jet sweep stuff, and you’ve got something that Bo Pelini’s little brain can’t begin to comprehend.
Quite honestly, Auburn didn’t do anything fancy today. There were maybe two or three plays that you could say they’d saved for LSU (the Capers touchdown was something I don’t think we’ve seen this year), but the rest of the time was Auburn out-executing the Bayou Bengals. Maybe last week’s win sparked something. Maybe a last-second victory turned the season around. Remember LSU in 2016? Same story. We beat them in a sticky and tight game with a controversial ending before finding a groove and reeling off six straight wins before injuries derailed the season. Maybe that’s what happened last week.
Bo Nix played his best game at quarterback. Incredibly efficient, and he showed off the full complement of skills. Short, intermediate, and deep passing, with the run game mixed in that seemed like he was just better than all of LSU’s defenders. The JJ Pegues element was super satisfying to see, and watching Seth Williams end up getting the better of Derek Stingley after the hype he got last year was cathartic. The entire game was freaking cathartic. Gus needed this win to get some heat off of his back, and what a win it turned out to be. He’s now 3-5 against LSU in his career. It sounds much better than 2-6.
Now, Auburn has a week off (although I might rather they go ahead and play to keep this rolling). Still, they’ll get to regroup, add back a couple of nicked up players, and reenter SEC play with a road trip to Mississippi State. We could be 5-2 after that with a game against an ailing Tennessee team and then Amen Corner part II. This season was looking weird, but after today it just got really, really fun.

Criminal Minds s05e13 “Risky Business” review - or more aptly named, the episode where Penelope shines and we learn more about JJ and it’s both amazing and heartbreaking
Episode 13 – Risky Business
Hey guys! So last episode was a wower, because it showed us that even the scariest unsubs can be actual victims, and it showed how truly amazing Spencer is and I love him so freaking much.
Okay, let’s see what happens.
Uh-oh. Teenagers. This can’t be good.
Birdie!
What are they doing? Oh god, please no.
Oh dear fuck. Oh my goodness fucking gracious.
FUCK!
WHY?
“But the previous Friday, two more boys a few towns over were found hanging on the backs of their doors.”
Wait. Four suicides in the same rural county in a week? WHAT?
“When someone feels trapped in what feels like a hopeless situation, pulling the trigger or swallowing pills or hanging yourself seems like the only way out.”
“None of that seems to exist here.”
“Something’s really wrong.”
Is this more insight into JJ’s past? YAY!
Oh god, this is another bad one. I don’t like it.
Mother Teresa: “Life is a game. Play it. Life is too precious. Do not destroy it.”
Powerful.
“Sir, it’s not that I’m not glad to be coming with you, because I am. I just don’t understand the why.”
Oh my cutie is coming in on the case XDDDDDDDD
Yay!
Just made my day.
“Our victims are all internet generation kids.”
Yup.
“There should be invaluable personal data on their computers to mine for the evaluation.”
“If they committed suicide, evidence of it will probably be in their cyber world.”
Oh dear.
“So I’m gonna snoop through dead kids’ computers?”
Oh my honey.
“This plane seldom makes pleasure trips.”
Oh my honeys.
“Sometimes a suicidal person, in the days leading up to the act, will just blurt out ‘I love you’ to family, sort of like a goodbye.”
Wait. Someone she knew committed suicide? Oh my baby angel.
“Sensationalizing these deaths may cause a domino effect with other kids.”
Yup.
“Is there a good place for me to set up?”
“Don’t have much of a command center.”
“Oh, fret not. I got my own command center. I just need your juice.”
Yup. My baby is all prepped.
Wait. Did JJ just say ‘If your daughter committed suicide,”? Uh-oh.
“I knew he didn’t kill himself. He wouldn’t do that to us.”
Wait what?
To you? Seriously?
“I’m sorry?” the FBI doesn’t investigate suicides?
“That’s not exactly true. Sometimes we do what’s called an equivocal death investigation to figure out the manner of death.”
Oh dear.
“Our investigation will try and sort it all out for you.”
Oh my goodness, his gravelly voice here is doing things to me.
Damn it. Nothing that would lead to suicide on either kid. Fuck.
Definitely something going on here.
“Where’s Ryan’s computer?”
Wait. Hold up. He didn’t have a laptop? That’s odd.
Smart parents.
“If you just get us the network IP address, I believe our technical analyst can go over it offsite.”
You bet your sweet hiney she can.
“Hey, you ready to delve into Trish Leake’s online world?”
“If by ready you mean extremely capable and even more reluctant.”
Oh honey.
“Well, that’s weird.”
“What?”
Yeah, what?
“There’s nothing here.”
“Nothing useful?”
“Nothing at all.”
What?
“I didn’t say empty, I said appears to be blank.”
“Meaning?”
“I’m gonna need a little while.”
Ruh-roh.
“I got it!”
You know it.
“It was just a basic Trojan horse. It just hid the directories, didn’t erase them.”
Awesome.
“Oh god.”
Oh no.
“She was on a choking game site the night she died.”
A what now???
So I just googled it. And turns out it was a real thing that happened all over … oh my god, thank you guys for addressing the seriousness of stupidity of people. Oh my freaking goodness, who would want to do that to themselves intentionally?
“It’s a game kids play where they choke themselves to get a buzz, to get high.”
“They call it the good kids’ game. You get lightheaded and a sense of euphoria even though no actual drugs are involved.”
“It’s something kids in high school play.”
Oh dear.
“Did Ryan have a computer?”
“Not in his room.”
“What about a gaming system?”
“Yeah, he did.”
Oh boy.
So my lovely can get into the gaming system via the IP address. You lovely brainiac.
“Bingo. Ryan was on the same site on the same night.”
“It wasn’t suicide.”
Fuck.
“Hang on, this is a text to voice icon. Let’s see what happens.”
Oh boy.
Fuck. Someone dared the kids to do this? Oh my goodness.
“There’s a whole subculture around this game. They make up names for it, they do it at parties.”
Oh god, I’m about to be sick.
“But someone is daring these kids in this area to play the game.”
“It’s a contest. And there are rules.”
Oh dear lordy.
“Diss – sounds like kids.”
Yup.
“Doing it alone requires ligatures.”
Fuck.
“Garcia, shut the side down.”
“Sir, I can totally do that, but I don’t think you want me to.”
What?
“Why?”
“Right now this site is our only way to track the unsub, and if I cut into it, he will certainly know we’re watching him, in which case he’ll shut it down, and he’ll write a simple change in code, bring it back up in a more covert fashion.”
Oh boy.
“Plus there’s no telling how many servers it’s replicated on anyway.”
“You’re right.”
Of course she is.
Fuck. This is awful.
“In real life, he considers himself a loser. In cyberspace, he can pull strings. Makes him feel powerful.”
Oh god.
So now they have to warn the kids? Oh dear, this is going to be hard.
Oh honey, you’re trying to explain it scientifically? Oh dear. This is not going togo over well.
Oh my god, supervising Derek in a classroom. I love this!
“Hey, kid. Not a good idea. Let me see it.”
Ha. And he’s FBI, so he has to do as Derek asks. XD
“What planet is this dude from?”
Oh my god, I just died.
So mean.
“He doesn’t want us to win the context.”
“I think the more accurate statement would be, ‘he doesn’t want us to participate in the contest at all.’”
Amen to that.
I love how the minute he personalizes the case, everyone starts listening to my poodle.
Smart.
“All because he wanted to participate in what I consider to be a pretty … pretty lame game.”
Yup.
“Your text is actually completely accurate. I don’t want you to win the contest, because I don’t want you to play the game.”
“You all believe this crap?”
Oh boy.
“You don’t?”
“Why don’t you come up here and tell us what you think.”
Oooh, he just called up to the front of the class by Morgan.
DAMN.
Ha. He just totally ran out of the classroom. GUILTY!
I’m sorry, but watching Derek chasing a kid down a high school is the funniest thing ever. And it shouldn’t be, but it is to me. Sorry.
Wait. Is Shemar straddling a kid? Oh god. I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to make it sound like that, but that’s essentially what’s going on here, right?
“You okay?”
My poodle is asking Derek if he’s okay? Oh god.
“Morgan, look at his neck.”
Oh dear. What’s that?
“Let me look at your neck.”
“Relax.”
Okay. I like this angle.
Fuck. He’s been strangled for a long time. Fuck.
I want to be that cup.
Wait. The Sheriff knows the dad? Oh dear.
“Actually, I’m not that type of doctor. I’m with the FBI.”
Oops.
“Your son needs to go in for some tests”
Well, that’s never good.
Did he just take a USB drive out of the laptop?
It’s the dad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
“When bad things happen to us, we get frustrated, kid.”
Oh my honeys trying to get him to talk.
And it’s not working.
“This Christopher kid is fantastical. He’s got a segmented hard drive, serious firewalls, major league encryption.”
Wow.
“No reason for all that unless he’s hiding something serious.”
Yup.
“This is … growl … unusual.” Wait what?
“Every attack I launch is shot down immediately.”
What?
How come?
“What’s that?”
“Somebody just uploaded a new video to the game site.”
Fuck.
“Guys, I’m gonna keep dead-ending on this until I get a beat on how he set up his security system.”
You work your magic, baby girl.
“Hope you got a plan B.”
Fuck.
“Garcia, I think that this kid will relate to you better than anybody else.”
Wait, what now?
“I want you to talk to him, see if you can get him to open up.”
Oh boy.
“Sir, I have never done that before. What if I mess up?”
Oh my honey.
“You’ll be fine.”
Yes, she will.
“Hi there. I’m Penelope.”
Why you gotta be rude, dick?
“Can I sit down?”
“You’re the cop.”
Ha! She? A cop?
“Um, I look like a cop to you?”
“FBI tech analyst.”
Yup.
“I just have some administrative cyber crud to go over with you.”
Oh, she’s cute.
“Just a geekette.”
Aw, honey.
“You are glum.”
Ain’t that the truth.
“Time is a great healer.”
Is it?
“I lost my mom and my dad when I was about your age, though.”
Oh my baby!!!!!!!!!!!!
Okay, see … now they’re talking cyber geek, and I’m not fluent. So apologies.
“BTW, I like your nails.”
Oh god.
“You into goth?” “You know, I don’t think I’m supposed to anymore …”
“But the love is still there.”
I love this lady.
“So you’re FBI?”
“Yeah, I know, it’s crazy, but I love it.”
“I enjoy your earring, too.”
I love this woman.
“She’s good. Established rapport when Morgan and Reid couldn’t.”
Yup. I love her.
“Your whole PGP disc encryption system is like crazy impressive.”
Sure, I guess ... I have no bucking idea what she just said, but okay.
“I am jealous.”
What?
“That is state-of-the-art technology the feeb does not have.”
REALLY?
Wow.
He’s good.
“How did you get your anonymizing service?”
He just downloaded it? Whoa.
I just think it’s uber cool how you set your whole system up.”
“Like how you use an e-shredder to obliterate your net activity and a window wiper as your secondary trash eraser.”
Okay, I’m not a tech geek, but even I can tell that is impressive beyond belief.
“Who does that?”
Everybody. Yeah right, I don’t.
“The interview’s over.”
Frack. They blew her cover.
Oh my honey.
She just totally got busted for using him.
“Syl, miss P.”
Cute.
I got that XD
“Sir, I’m sorry, I tried.”
Are you kidding me? She was amazing!!!!!!!!!!
Did he just give her his earring? Whoa.
Crap. Four videos in half an hour? Oh god, this is sick.
“There was something pathetic about him, not criminal.” Huh?
Boom. Password’s his mom’s name. Got it.
She shut the site down. Awesome.
“Kids are still posting videos through independent servers.”
Shit.
“Pull up the website history. See if you can learn anything from historical posts.”
Awesome.
“Christopher’s ER eval shows his bruises were caused by manual and ligature strangulation over time.”
Wait. What now? Manual? Oh lordy.
Wait. So he changes his wording? That’s odd.
“That’s pretty sophisticated behavior for a kid.”
Damn straight. I was a dumdum when I was that age. Compared to my genius now.
“A writer can disguise his own writing style to make himself appear younger or less educated.”
True.
“Yeah, but it’s virtually impossible to make yourself appear older and more educated than you actually are.”
Yup. Definitely.
“Christopher was being manipulated by an adult.”
DUH.
I knew it was the dad. Fuck.
“He’ll find a place to download the videotapes. They’re his trophies.”
Ew.
“You need to see this.”
Oh dear.
“When his father came in the room, he seemed genuinely relieved.”
“His burden had been lifted.”
Why?
“We need to rethink everything.”
Oh boy.
Crap. The kid’s going to kill himself. Shit.
“The father’s going to want to download those videos somewhere, Garcia, and we got to stop that process.”
“Already on that. I replaced the website with a phishing site.”
Oh she’s good.
“When he logs onto that website, he’s going to be rerouted to our server, and we can capture his information.”
I’m in love with this woman.
“You know, for Christopher, a cemetery would be a place of refuge, but for the father …”
“He’s revisiting a body disposal site.”
Oh my god, that is sick.
She’s got him.
“Is he downloading the videos?”
“He’s trying to, but all he’s going to get is snow.”
I love this lady.
Please tell me they get there in time to save the kid.
Fuck.
Oh thank goodness.
“What is that?”
“It’s called a star puzzle.”
“It’s basically impossible to figure out. You have to put all of the pieces back together to form a perfect star.”
I’m crap at those.
Oh my god, my baby knits! Could she be any more perfect?
“The origin of it is kind of a romantic tale.”
“There was this young prince who wanted to win the heart of the fairest maiden in the land, so he climbed to the top of the tallest tower in the kingdom, and he caught a falling star for her.”
Story time with Emily Prentiss!
“Unfortunately, he was so excited, he dropped it, and it smashed into all of these pieces, so he frantically put it back together again to prove his undying love, and he succeeded, and they lived happily ever after.”
“That doesn’t make sense.”
Oh god, Reid.
“What do you mean?”
“You can’t catch a falling star.”
Oh boy.
“It would burn up in the atmosphere.”
Well, yeah, but …
“Yeah, but it’s not literal, Reid. It’s a fable.”
“But there’s no moral.”
Oh honey.
“Fables have morals.”
“Okay. So it’s just a romantic little story.”
“And the point is, it’s basically impossible to do because you have to take all of these pieces and put them together exactly …”
Reid, you little shit, I love you so much.
“There’s a lot to hate about you, Dr. Reid.”
“Play poker with him sometime.”
“Try playing chess with him.”
“Or Go.”
I LOVE MY SUPERHEROES SO MUCH!
Oh my god, so JJ’s sister killed herself and she was the last person to ever talk to her? Oh my god, my heart is just ripping right now. Why end the episode like this you assholes?
C.S. Lewis: “Experience is a brutal teacher, but you learn. My god, do you learn.”
Okay, so this episode was all over the map for me. First off, I’m so glad they addressed something like The Choking Game, because it is seriously horrendous and I wasn’t aware of this and apparently I’ve been living under a rock. Second, this episode featured Penelope in a very important way, meaning she wasn’t just the little ray of sunshine but an invaluable part of the team, and it was glorious. Also, we learned about JJ’s dark past and I just want to hug her and tell her it’s alright and that she’s my little snow angel.
Overall, this show is just getting better and better and I cannot wait to see what else it has in store.

Birthday bashful
Speechless Part 11!
Your name: submit What is this?
~2 years later~
‘Well, as you all know I have had a girlfriend for a couple years now, and you all know her and love her, especially since she had gotten a spot on the show.” Jensen hesitated a second as the crowd began to cheer. “She’s really changed my life, she made it.. hm.. she made it more vibrant, more lively, and I couldn’t ask for more even if I wanted to.” Jensen answered looking at the fan.
The world suddenly tipped upside down and you could see that you were leaving the backstage area.
“JARED PUT ME DOWN!”
“No… I don’t think I will.” He replied jostling you as he carried you on stage and the whole room roared.
“Back off Squirrel, she’s my love interest.” Mark growled into the microphone.
“She’s mine!” Misha piped up.
“No she’s mine!” Jared exclaimed as he jostled you again. Somehow someone leaked that your character was getting a love interest next season, that wasn’t Dean. Nobody not even you knew who it was so of course the guys had to tease the audience.
“As you can see everybody loves angel, but back off,” Jensen said sending his best bitch face to the rest of the guys, smirked good naturedly, and dropped right back into the glare. The crowd ‘Awe’d and laughed.
“Back to what I was saying.” Jensen replied. “I love you very much, and hopefully you will let me love you forever.” He said kissing your forehead,
“Sweet talker,” You replied batting his arm feeling your face grow hot.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Dude! Why didn’t you ask her?” Jared demanded,
“I’m not sure she wants to spend the rest of her life with me.” Jensen replied rubbing his neck. He made an excuse to have a guy’s night with Jared while you were curled up watching movies in your and Jensen’s hotel room with Gen.
“Are you crazy? She lives with you, she loves JJ, she gets along with Danneel. She is friends with everyone on the show, she is even on good terms with your family. She has integrated herself into every single part of your life and you aren’t sure if she wants to spend her life with you?”
“Well, I’m nervous okay, what if I’m only what she wants and not what she needs.”
“Isn’t that the point of being a husband? Being what they need, and want? She wants you that’s the first point, marriages don’t work if one party doesn’t want the other. She was having a hard time a couple years ago and you…
“Misha, it wasn’t me, she called Misha.”
“Because Misha didn’t have his kids with him, she was thinking about JJ even when she was in serious pain and trouble.” Jensen sighed knowing Jared was right.
“You were a douche, but you’ve given her what she needs, you found her that day sobbing, skin rubbed raw, you took the time to care for her, she needed to live with someone, you gave her that too. She needed to be loved and I know you love her, from the way you look at her. You’re in love with everything about her, completely enamored.”
“You’re right, I guess I just never have forgiven myself.” He replied. “I’ll ask her, I’ll ask her next weekend.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“I don’t know Gen, he’s been so distant lately. What if he doesn’t love me anymore? You ask staring at your hands trying not to cry.
“Did you not hear the way he talked about you today, hun?”
“I did, but what if it is all an act or something?”
“Why would he be acting about that?”
“I don’t know. He just isn’t acting normal.”
“Maybe he’s nervous about something? Your birthday is coming up, he always clams up when he isn’t sure what to get you, remember last year when he picked me up to go shop with him. I had to leave you alone with Jared and the boys. I knew he would take care of them but he would have given them dinner of cotton candy and chocolate!” Gen laughed.
“Oh yeah,” You giggled, “but he seems even worse if it is nervousness. What on earth is so hard about a birthday present? Jensen and chocolate is good enough for me.”
“Men are weird.” She replied as she braided your hair as you sat in front of her blindly watching a movie on the tv. You two were sitting in the ‘living’ area of the hotel room so you two were chatting but supposed to be watching movies and eating chocolate.
“chocolate me.” Gen said bending down as you popped a dove chocolate in her mouth.
“Thank Chuck for chocolate,” You muttered as you grabbed a chocolate for yourself.”
“Amen,”
“So what do you think he’s going to get me? I hope nothing too big because I want to do something extremely nice for him for his next birthday, I would hate to be outshined.” You smile.
“Hm, I don’t know, you’ll have to wait and see.” Gen smirked knowingly.
