Bahkan, suatu pagi, pernah ada burung yang masuk ke rumah entah dari mana. Lalu, karena gak tau cara ngeluarinnya, akhirnya aku biarin aja. Pusing juga karena saat itu lagi chaos sama urusan lagi. Lama-lama, orang tua, adik, sepupu2, semua jadi ikut kenal dan terbiasa sama Mengmeng ini. Mereka pasti tau aku sayang Mengmeng karena aku suka ceritain soal Mengmeng juga.

Nah, selama Ramadhan ini, di rumah ada orang tua karena katanya pingin puasa di sini. Lalu, tadi pagi, ada ibu2 pengajian yang cerita kalau kucingnya mati ketabrak. Dari cerita itu, ia berlanjut cerita kalau dulu dia punya kucing lain, tapi hilang gak tau ke mana. Mamaku, berpikir bahwa jangan2 Mengmeng kucing ibu itu.

Singkat cerita, tadi pulang tarawih, aku dan Mama ketemu sama ibu itu. Lalu, tahu2 mama nanya, “Bu, kucingnya yang hilang ciri2nya gimana? Ada gantungan di leher nggak? Soalnya di rumah saya ada kucing yang suka dateng juga.”

Di situ aku cuma senyum2 simpul aja. Tapi, dalam hati sedih banget. Kayak gak rela aja gitu.

Aku tahu Mengmeng bukan punya aku. Tapi, kan, bukan aku yang ngambil Mengmeng. Kucingnya yang dateng sendiri.

Terus aku juga agak kesel karena kayak … aku yang ngerawat Mengmeng tiap hari, ngasih makan, mikirin makannya dia waktu aku harus ke luar kota, mikir produk makannya waktu dia lahiran, dll. Mama aku juga tahu kalau aku di sini tuh kayak … Mengmeng yang nemenin. Terus tiba2 beliau malah mau ngasiin Mengmeng ke orang lain, seolah memilih untuk muncul jadi penolong temennya yg ibu2 itu.

Aku tahu beliau nggak salah, aku tahu. Tapi wajar gak sih aku sedih. Lyk … makhluk berwujud nyata yang nemenin aku selama ini tuh Mengmeng. Nobody else could handle this dog, he was only going to get bigger, and the wife now, rightfully, refused to keep him. And given that he was only even partially responsive to one human, he couldn't morally rehome him, so he had made the decision to put this dog to sleep before something terrible happened.

I want to emphasize that this person loved their Hachi, alongside the idea of the dog. The image of him sobbing on the floor where Hachi lay, muzzled and sedated but still growling as I put him to sleep via a back leg vein, will remain with me for the rest of my career.

Omoide Yokoch là một trong những địa điểm nổi tiếng ở Tokyo khu phố ẩm thực bởi mật độ dày đặc của các quán ăn. Chỉ với diện tích rất nhỏ, khu phố này đã có hơn 60 nhà hàng, quán bar và vô số các cửa hàng tiện lợi.

Các quán ăn ở đây được trang trí vô cùng bắt mắt nhưng vẫn giữ được nét đẹp truyền thống kiến trúc Nhật Bản. Giống như nhiều quán ăn khác ở Nhật, các cửa hàng bán đồ ăn ở đây chủ yếu phục vụ thực khách các món ăn truyền thống của Nhật Bản như Sushi, Sashimi, mì Ramen,… 

Con phố này có sự khác biệt so với các con phố khác đó là món Yakitori (món thịt xiên nướng) của người Nhật đa dạng về các loại nguyên liệu thịt heo, thịt bò, thịt gà hay từ các loại rau củ,… tha hồ cho thực khách lựa chọn.

The Fluffiest Gift

“Nezumi?” said Shion.

“Hm?” Nezumi looked up from reading the newspaper.

“What if we started an alpaca farm?”

The light in Nezumi’s eyes faded, and Shion could almost see his soul ascending from the amount of stupidity he was forced to put up with.

“No, hear me out! Alpaca wool is known for being soft and high quality. You can only shear them once a year, but they don’t take up much land or food, and their manure is supposed to be amazing for helping plants grow. They’re good guards for other livestock, plus they’re easy to be around for children, and we could keep them without you having to change your work schedule. All we’d need for them is a little space, I’m sure we’d have enough here.” He was doing that puppy-dog thing where his face lit up, and Nezumi had to freeze the edges of his heart to keep it from melting.

“And there’s just the slight matter of, where the heck do you think we’re going to find alpacas? Tch.” Nezumi looked back to his newspaper.

“Well....” Shion, too, looked back down, but couldn’t quite keep his focus on the book he was reading. He muttered quietly to himself. “Somewhere. They live in this climate, so there must be some somewhere.”

“Nezumi, do you have a hammer?” Shion had burst out of the door as Nezumi returned home from running errands. Nezumi had intended not to make any sound, but this airhead somehow knew right when to ambush him. He noticed the pile of branches and loops of twine off to the side of the path, and said,

“Why...?”

“No reason.”

“Shion, there is no way these branches are going to be strong enough to make a fence that will keep in an alpaca.”

Shion shuffled to the side in an apparent attempt to belatedly keep Nezumi from seeing his fencing materials. “Who said anything about alpacas?”

“Tch.” Nezumi brushed past, heading towards the house. “You did, last week.” He opened the door and paused, then beckoned for Shion to follow. “I’ll show you where the hammer is, but don’t put those puny sticks in the ground. And don’t you dare think of scouring the dump until I can come with you.”

Three days later, there was a respectable-looking corral just outside the door, complete with waxed-rope fencing strung between rusty but sturdy metal struts. They had even been able to find some jagged and dirty pieces of corrugated aluminum, which cleaned up well enough to make a small roofed shed in the corner. Nezumi had tested the wind to make sure the opening  faced away to help keep out the weather.

“I still don’t know what you think you’re going to keep here.” Nezumi deadpanned.

Surprisingly, it was only a week and a half later, when the ground was beginning to thaw, that Nezumi looked down on their home and saw Shion leading an alpaca down the path. Rikiga was right behind him leading a second alpaca, and he held both leads as Shion rolled open the makeshift gate before leading the fuzzy animals, one black and one white, into the corral.

Nezumi quickly ran over to the pen, his slightly ragged breath clouding the chilly air. He rubbed his eyes in disbelief at the animals in front of him. Up close, they were smaller than he had expected, neither of them reaching past Shion’s shoulder. It was hard not to feel warmed by their long lashes and smiling mouths. Nezumi started to ask the obvious question, but Shion answered before he could get any sound out.

“Mr. Rikiga knew someone, who knew someone else, who brought them here from another city.”

“In exchange for what?!”

“Half a dozen bottles of whiskey from my collection, and season tickets to your shows for the middlemen,” said Rikiga. “You can manage that, right?”

Nezumi gritted his teeth, but couldn’t help but be impressed at the trade, and Shion’s commitment to making it happen.

He approached the long-necked creatures cautiously and was able to lay a hand on the darker one, but it quickly turned and trotted to the opposite corner of its new home.

“They’re like you.” Shion laughed. “It takes them some time to get used to being around someone.”

It wasn’t much longer before Cloud and Velvet, as Shion had named the two alpacas against Nezumi’s repeated insistence otherwise, would follow them around the edges of the corral as they  came and went to the house, or did chores in the yard. When he wasn’t spending time caring for the alpacas, Shion would hardly stop uttering aloud every fact about animal husbandry he encountered as he dug through Nezumi’s many books. Even Nezumi was spending enough time with them to get a feel for how to approach the two animals and get a friendly welcome. He held their leads as Shion ushered the neighbor kids into the corral for the first time, holding onto them and reassuring them as Shion explained to the children how to act around the animals. Nezumi stroked the soft fur, and imagined the sweaters and mittens it would make the next time it was shorn and spun into yarn.

Shion fluffed some alpaca wool from the basket sitting next to him on the bed. All things considered, Shion’s training for the ecology course and the alpaca’s affinity for Nezumi had served them well during the shearing process. “Good thing we only have to do that once a year.” Nezumi flopped down next to him, exhausted from keeping Velvet and Cloud calm as Shion trimmed their wool for the approaching warmer weather.

“I hope I don’t mess this up,” Shion mused. He looked at the drop spindle he had carved to turn the wool into yarn he could try to knit, just like the homemade sweater he had received long ago. “I’d feel bad for Cloud and Velvet if this went to waste.”

“I’m sure they’d forgive you. One look at those adorable faces and big doe eyes and somehow everything seems right with this crappy world.”

“Nezumi! Did you just call them ‘adorable’?!”

Nezumi looked up. “Yeah, yeah, what of it? But no one and nothing is as adorable as you.” A grin slowly spread across his face, and he wrapped one arm around Shion in an embrace, which Shion returned.

Shion carried a tray with two steaming hot cocoas in from the kitchen and set it down near where Nezumi was sitting on the couch. “Here you are.” Nezumi accepted the mug, but raised one eyebrow. “Shion, it’s spring. It’s not cold anymore.”

Shion tucked his feet under him and settled into the couch with his own mug. “It’s a special day! We can have hot chocolate to celebrate even if it’s warm.” He reached over the side of the couch to grab a package wrapped up in brown paper. “For you. Since you don’t know when your birthday is.”

Nezumi set down his mug, and carefully pulled the string to open the package. He pulled out one fuzzy white lump, then another, and finally a long, wide span of white fluff.

“They’re mittens and a scarf! Try them on!” Shion set down his own mug and reached over the side of the couch again to grab matching blobs of fluff in the same dark shade as Velvet. By the time he got them on, Nezumi had managed to put on his mittens, but Shion couldn’t wait any longer, and wrapped the scarf around his neck to complete the look. “Grab your hot chocolate and let’s go show Velvet and Cloud!” Shion could hardly refrain from dragging Nezumi out the door.

“This is ridiculous,” Nezumi laughed.

The two of them stood side by side next to the corral, drinking their hot cocoas while Cloud and Velvet tried to nose at the unfamiliar beverages. New buds were sprouting on the plants all around them, waiting to open into flowers. “It’ll be too warm to keep wearing these now,” Shion motioned to the mittens and scarves, “but they should serve us well next winter.” Nezumi nodded and smiled. He leaned into Shion, and ruffled his hair. “I’m lucky I’ll get to spend it with you.” -The End!-

E’ la giornata del cane. I romanzi e i film che celebrano una grande amicizia

Se la giornata mondiale del cane si celebra il 26 agosto è perché proprio in quella data la famiglia Page, molti anni fa, adottava il piccolo Sheltie. Colleen Page ai tempi aveva solo 10 anni ma quello con quel cane, e poi di conseguenza crescendo con tutti i cani del mondo, è un amore che non finirà mai fino a portarla a diventare una degli avvocati di maggior prestigio per quanto riguarda i diritti degli animali.

Un valido modo non solo per festeggiare, omaggiare, gli amici a quattro zampe, sarebbe quello di metterseli accanto e gustarsi un buon libro o un buon film, magari concedendogli nel frattempo qualche coccola in più. Il tema, oggi, neanche a dirlo, proprio loro: i cani.

Per quanto riguarda la letteratura, accanto a classici come “Il richiamo della foresta” di Jack London con protagonista Buck, un meticcio che ha le sembianze di un lupo, non può che venire in mente il bestseller di Garth Stein “L’arte di correre sotto la pioggia”, uscito circa 10 anni fa, rimasto per 40 settimane nella classifica del New York Times e già considerato uno dei classici del genere: storia del cane Enzo, voce narrante e amico del pilota Denny. Dal romanzo è stato tratto un film che sarà nelle sale italiane a novembre con il titolo ‘Attraverso i miei occhi’.

Altro romanzo con protagonista un cane è “Io e Marley”, storia vera dell’amicizia tra un labrador e il giornalista John Grogan, ben presente all’attenzione del grande pubblico anche grazie all’adattamento cinematografico con protagonisti due superstar come Owen Wilson e Jennifer Aniston.

Altra amicizia, splendidamente raccontata, quella vera tra Ted Kerasote e il trovatello Merle, che insegnerà al padrone quanto sia indispensabile la libertà nel rapporto tra due persone, anche quando una delle due è un cane; il libro si intitola “La porta di Merle”.

È chiaro che nella maggior parte dei casi si tratta di amicizie, indissolubili, dell’amore dei cani che ci insegna qualcosa, proprio come fa Baudelaire con il disperato padrone Philippe, che in “Un inverno con Baudelarie” perde moglie e lavoro, ma trova il miglior amico possibile.

Un po’ quello che succede anche a Juliet, che riceve in eredità dal marito Ben la responsabilità di occuparsi di Minton in “Piccoli passi di felicità” di Lucy Dillon.

Per chi desidera approcciarsi ad una lettura più tecnica, al limite con la filosofia, consigliatissimo “E l’uomo incontrò il cane” di Konrad Lorenz, il fondatore dell’etologia e premio Nobel per la medicina nel 1973, che ricostruisce perfettamente il rapporto tra uomo e cane.

Un rapporto che mai viene esaltato come in “Torna a casa Lassie”, origine letteraria di quello che sarà per sempre il cane per eccellenza della tv. Lassie, che affronta mille disavventure per riuscire a riunirsi con il suo amato padrone Joe.

Chiaro che l’immaginario canino ha contribuito non poco anche alla storia del cinema, regalandoci una serie di film ormai considerati dei veri e propri cult. Come “Beethoven”, il San Bernardo combina guai adottato dalla famiglia Newton in una commedia del 1992, un successo così strabiliante (quasi 150 milioni di dollari in tutto il mondo) che convinse la Universal a realizzarne altri 7 sequel.

Nel 2006 Frank Marshall dirige “8 amici da salvare”, storia vera di otto cani da slitta che devono riuscire a sopravvivere nei territori avversi dell’Antartico alla ricerca dei padroni.

Ambientazione simile per quanto riguarda “Balto”, anche questa una storia vera: siamo in Alaska nel 1925 e al cane vengono affidate le medicine da portare nella città di Nome, colpita da un’epidemia di difterite.

Più allegra la storia della cagnolina Chloe, nel 2008 protagonista di “Beverly Hills Chihuahua”, intenta a scappare da un crudele Dobermann che l’ha presa di mira.

Nel 1993 i cani invece si prendono la scena nel terzo sequel della saga cult ���Senti chi parla”, nella versione italiana Scag e Dalila sono doppiati rispettivamente da Renato Pozzetto e Monica Vitti, in quella americana a prestare la voce sono Danny De Vito e Diane Keaton.

Solo qualche anno prima è un cane pastore tedesco a dar luce alla carriera di James Belushi in “Un poliziotto a 4 zampe”, che ci racconta le avventure del cane poliziotto Jerry Lee.

Naturalmente la Disney metterà diverse volte dei cani a guidare i propri film d’animazione, due i casi più famosi: “La carica dei 101”, che ha fatto innamorare il mondo dei dalmata fin dagli anni ’60 e “Lilly e il vagabondo”, il cui trailer della nuova versione non animata è stato utilizzato per il lancio di Disney+, la piattaforma che nasce con il proposito di fare concorrenza a Netflix.

Ma il titolo che probabilmente più di tutti racconta la storia di un rapporto tra cane e padrone è “Hachiko”, film tratto anche questo da una storia vera, che narra il rapporto tra un professore di musica e un cucciolo di Akita Inu, abituato ad accompagnare ed aspettare ogni giorno il suo padrone alla stazione, facendolo per anni invano quando il padrone muore. In questo caso piccolo consiglio: mettete da parte i popcorn e prendete i fazzolettini, perché la commozione conquista vette quasi illegali. A consolarvi comunque, accanto a voi, se siete fortunati, ci sarà il vostro cane con quello sguardo devoto e rassicurante.

Come “Beethoven”, il San Bernardo combina guai adottato dalla famiglia Newton in una commedia del 1992, un successo così strabiliante (quasi 150 milioni di dollari in tutto il mondo) che convinse la Universal a realizzarne altri 7 sequel.

Nel 2006 Frank Marshall dirige “8 amici da salvare”, storia vera di otto cani da slitta che devono riuscire a sopravvivere nei territori avversi dell’Antartico alla ricerca dei padroni.

Ambientazione simile per quanto riguarda “Balto”, anche questa una storia vera: siamo in Alaska nel 1925 e al cane vengono affidate le medicine da portare nella città di Nome, colpita da un’epidemia di difterite.

Più allegra la storia della cagnolina Chloe, nel 2008 protagonista di “Beverly Hills Chihuahua”, intenta a scappare da un crudele Dobermann che l’ha presa di mira.

Nel 1993 i cani invece si prendono la scena nel terzo sequel della saga cult “Senti chi parla”, nella versione italiana Scag e Dalila sono doppiati rispettivamente da Renato Pozzetto e Monica Vitti, in quella americana a prestare la voce sono Danny De Vito e Diane Keaton.

Solo qualche anno prima è un cane pastore tedesco a dar luce alla carriera di James Belushi in “Un poliziotto a 4 zampe”, che ci racconta le avventure del cane poliziotto Jerry Lee.

Naturalmente la Disney metterà diverse volte dei cani a guidare i propri film d’animazione, due i casi più famosi: “La carica dei 101”, che ha fatto innamorare il mondo dei dalmata fin dagli anni ’60 e “Lilly e il vagabondo”, il cui trailer della nuova versione non animata è stato utilizzato per il lancio di Disney+, la piattaforma che nasce con il proposito di fare concorrenza a Netflix.

Ma il titolo che probabilmente più di tutti racconta la storia di un rapporto tra cane e padrone è “Hachiko”, film tratto anche questo da una storia vera, che narra il rapporto tra un professore di musica e un cucciolo di Akita Inu, abituato ad accompagnare ed aspettare ogni giorno il suo padrone alla stazione, facendolo per anni invano quando il padrone muore. In questo caso piccolo consiglio: mettete da parte i popcorn e prendete i fazzolettini, perché la commozione conquista vette quasi illegali. A consolarvi comunque, accanto a voi, se siete fortunati, ci sarà il vostro cane con quello sguardo devoto e rassicurante.

Resumen y sinopsis de los libros

La razón de estar contigo

En esta tercera entrega, la historia se narra en la perspectiva de Bella, una perrita Pitbull, la cual a diferencia de los perros de las historias anteriores, ella no revive en un cuerpo distinto al suyo.

En cuanto a la historia, es Lucas Ray quien encuentra a Bella en un edificio abandonado cuando ella sólo era un pequeño cachorro. En ese instante, fue amor a primera vista. Y a pesar de que en el departamento en el cual vivían su madre y él no se permitían perros, Lucas igual la recoge y se la lleva.

Ambos se convierten en gran amigos pero cada vez se hacía más difícil ocultar a la perrita de los vecinos, por lo tanto, Lucas decide llevar a Bella al trabajo la cual será acogida con mucho amor. Lamentablemente, control animal la captura ya que no se permitían pitbulls en la ciudad, entonces, Lucas la deriva a un centro de acogida hasta que encuentre un departamento donde permitan perros de mascota, específicamente pitbulls.

Bella, muy triste por la separación y como buena mascota, escapa del centro de acogida en busca de su amo, que vive a más de 800 km de diferencia.

Siempre a tu lado

El libro es básicamente lo mismo que la película (véase en otra nota la información), la cual trata sobre un perro que esperó a su amo años hasta que él falleció. Nos narra la famosa leyenda de Hachiko y la relación que mantuvo con su amo de una forma muy sencilla y amorosa.

101 Dálmatas

El libro parte en la ciudad de Londrés con Roger y Anita que se han enamorado perdidamente el uno del otro. Ambos tienen de mascotas unos dálmatas llamados Pongo y Missis que al igual que sus dueños, se gustan mutuamente. En una circunstancia, Missis da a luz a quince cachorros dálmata y sus dueños buscan una can nodriza ya que tienen miedo de que la dálmata no pueda amamantar a todos.

Más tarde se encuentran con una perrita abandonada en la lluvia llamada Perdita que se ha escapado en busca de sus crías que han sido vendidas por su propietario, después, se encuentran con Cruella de Vil, una mujer excéntrica y obsesionada por la moda, específicamente con la piel de dálmata. Cruella de Vil estaba muy interesada con los perritos de la pareja, pero ellos se negaron a venderlos.

La Dama y el Vagabundo

La historia trata sobre Jaime y Linda, que le regala un cachorro como regalo de navidad cuyo nombre será Reina. Esta pequeña, crecerá felizmente con lujos en su casa hasta que a la edad de seis meses, Jaime y Linda le obsequian un collar decorado con una chapa de oro que contendrá el nombre y la dirección de esta.

Ella, contenta, va a mostrárselo rápidamente a sus amigos Jock y Trusty, y es ahí cuando conoce a Golfo, un perro vagabundo.

Kisah Anjing Setia di 7 Film Hollywood, Jadi Pengen Pelihara

Banyak orang yang memelihara sebuah hewan bukan hanya sekedar hobi tetapi juga bisa di jadikan teman di rumah dan bahkan menjadi penghibur di kala sedih. Anjing merupakan simbol hewan yang terkenal dengan kesetiaannya, nah ini ada 7 Kisah Anjing Setia di film Hollywood.

1. Kisah Anjing Setia di Film Hollywood adalah Beethoven

Sejak awal kemunculannya pada 1992, Beethoven sukses mencuri perhatian banyak penonton. Film arahan Brian Levant ini mengisahkan tentang anjing beras St. Bernard yang hidup di tengah keluarga George. Kehadirannya justru menjadi incaran untuk alat percobaan dokter hewan. Film peraih piala Genesis Award 2013 ini telah dibuatkan delapan sekuel dengan satu serial TV. Siapin tisu deh buat nonton film anjing setia hollywood ini!

2. Air Bud

Tagline dari film Air Bud (1997) yaitu “He sits. He stays. He shoots. He scores”. Kalimat itu benar-benar mewakili cerita dalam film. Anjing Golden Retriever bernama Buddy mampu melakukan shoot seperti halnya atlet basket. Kisah persahabatannya dengan seorang anak kecil yang juga mencintai basket sangat menarik untuk ditonton. Bahkan, Buddy telah diadopsi oleh penulis filmnya, Kevin DiCicco.

3. Iron Will

Kisah persahabatan antara manusia dan anjing lainnya ada di film Iron Will. Will Stoneman (Mackenzie Astin) yang harus melakukan perjalanan jauh itu ditemani oleh anjing kesayangannya. Perjalanan itu bermula karena kematian ayah Will yang memaksanya untuk mencari uang lebih, film anjing setia yang paling keren!

4. Eight Blow

Film Eight Blow (2006) dibuat atas bentuk perbaikan dari filmya terdahulu, Snow Dog. Frank Marshall mencoba menghadirkan Paul Walker dengan anjing-anjing menggemaskannya. Eight Blows mengisahkan tentang perjuangan Jerry Shepard (Paul Walker) untuk bertahan hidup di kutub bersama dengan sahabat-sahabat anjingnya.

5. The Adventures of Milo and Otis

Bagi kamu pecinta kucing dan anjing harus menonton film The Adventures of Milo and Otis (1986). Film yang pertama kali rilis di Jepang ini mengisahkan tentang persahabatan anjing (Otis) dan kucing (Milo). Keduanya yang saling terpisah itu berjuang untuk menemukan satu sama lain.

6. 101 Dalmatians

Dalmation merupakan salah satu jenis anjing yang sering dipelihara manusia. Hal ini lah yang mendasari Doddie Smith untuk mengadaptasinya dalam sebuah novel. Kesuksesan novelnya ternyata membuat Disney tertarik untuk mengangkat ke layar lebar. Film 101 Dalmatians (1996) mengisahkan tentang anjing dalmatians yang terancam dibunuh. Orang yang akan membunuhnya yaitu Cruella De Vil (Glenn Close).

7. Film Anjing Setia paling terakhir paling sering kita dengar adalah Hachi: A Dog’s Tale

Film Hachi: A Dog’s Tale (2009) diangkat dari kisah nyata. Film arahan Lasse Hallström itu menceritakan tentang kesetiaan seekor anjing Hachiko untuk menunggu majikkannya pulang. Bahkan, anjing itu menunggu untuk waktu yang cukup lama. Yang paling menyentuh dari film ini adalah ketika Hachiko menangis. Nonton ini di jamin pasti nangis film anjing setia yang menyentuh hati banget 🙁

Let’s continue our adventure from here on. I will then enumerate the things we did experienced from that trip as to shorten the long travel home.

DAY 1: I did go back to Shibuya Crossing Line. As always, shibuya is the utmost busiest crossing line in the whole world, and Hachiko stands near it as always as he does

Me and my co-officemates did went here the previous, but the difference is that  this time, together with my friends, did a little bit of sightseeing around shibuya.  It’s a bit confusing at first, but the whole place is a totally awesome. I bit it would be much better if you go around the place in a daylight.

While walking down the street, I was so surprised to see this store nearby.

It’s a Disney store.  I was looking for it through websites and did even search for the possible location of the store, but never thought that it would be in front of us that moment. Location is Zip code 150-0042, Humax Pavilion Shibuya Koen Dori, 20-15 Udagawa-cho, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo. We did buy our tickets in advance for our trip ticket at Disney Land

DAY 2: It’s a Mt Fuji day. The last time I went here at Mt. Fuji was kind of cold and didn’t show up until the end. We did go here through Hakone Line. However this time around, we choose to go through Kawaguchi Line.

Thanks to Google Map we did find our way going to the rendezvous point.  After arriving there, I was then so excited to go to Kachi Kachi Ropeway. According to some reviews, this place is a nice place to watch the mount fuji, and it has a story to tell but to our dismay the place was closed then. I was so sad about this, but what can I do about this? So, we then headed to our next trip, ride a boat around Kawaguchi river.

To my surprise, Mt Fuji was absolutely astonishing, marvellous and so beautiful that day. I could not describe it any better than those adjective I did mentioned. To give you a glimpse, here it is

Isn’t it so beautiful? How thankful I am to be there at a very picture-perfect moment. Now, here I am. I don’t blame Japanese people to be mesmerized with this delightful view. It gives a special feeling, a day to remember. We took our chance to grasp the view inside our memory from a 30 minutes boat sailing experience, and we always find ourselves in awe.

After the boat sailing, we thought of experiencing snow in this time of the year. Philippines is a tropical country, and snow is a big no no in our place, and we highly anticipated to experience this. However, it didn’t go as planned, yet snow was all over Kawaguchi side of the road. Happiness isn’t all about meeting our expectation, but finding it even in a smallest aspect of it. Most of us really enjoyed it, especially those three.

An hour of playing snow outside, we did drop some of our energy, ended up looking for a resto. From this quiet neighbourhood of Kawaguchiko, “Sun Poppo Coffee and Restaurant” was the place where we could find answering our hungry tummy.

We amazingly enjoyed staying near Mt Fuji thru Kawaguchiko. Before ending this Day 2, I would really love to share this figures we did find along the way.

I find this very artistic, but I could not find the meaning out of this figures. While looking around, I did came across a tablet with a writings that is plastered in a stone wall about the whole meaning of this, and it states:

THE SYMBOL STATUE OF KAWAGUCHIKO

This bronze statue is one of the last and finest masterpieces of Japan’s greatest sculptor, the late Saibo Kitamura. Kitamura visited Kawaguchiko at the age of 101 and was deeply moved by the magnificence of our surrounding mountain scenery as well as the mysterious quality of the lake itself. This statue is the product of the two long and laborious years he then spent in an effort to give this feeling of wonder form.

The vase portion of the statue represents Lake Kawaguchiko, fountain of wisdom, hope, life and plenty, in other words the source of life in all things. As for the two female figures dancing around the vase, the woman on the left represents “positive” and the woman on the right represents “negative”. The eternally varying dreams of these two opposites come together to become one in the “source” flowing on to symbolize the never-ending occurrence and renewal of life. The work is a truly powerful expression of man’s eternal search for the essence of the universe to which he aspires, given life and form through the genius and skill of this great master.

Eso ha hecho que sean de las más conocidas y las más queridas, con lo que su crianza y venta es de las más altas entre las distintas razas caninas.   -Collie   Conocido casi desde el inicio de la televisión, encontró su fama con la conocida y familiar serie de Lassie. Hasta quienes nunca llegaron a verla conocen a Lassie y adoran su raza, leal y de largo pelaje. Pero lo que pocos saben es que además es un perro  muy, muy enérgico, así que si estás pensando en adquirir un collie no olvides que necesita muchísimo ejercicio y estímulos.   -Husky   ¿Quién no recuerda Colmillo Blanco, en novela o en el película? Todos conocen ya al mítico “perro lobo” encarnado por un Husky Siberiano, un perro con gran fuerza que nos recuerda a la naturaleza salvaje. Pero no hay que olvidar que se trata de un perro de carácter bastante dominante, así que si quieres uno, ¡asegúrate de saber enseñarle quién manda!   -Dálmata   Todo el mundo conoce los 101 Dálmatas y adora esta raza por su elegancia y alegría. ¿Pero sabías que en su origen corrían al lado de los carros para acompañar a sus dueños e incluso a los bomberos? Eso lo hace un animal de una increíble energía… de modo que ¡prepárate para mucho ejercicio!   -Akita   A día de hoy no hay casi nadie que no conozca la historia de Hachiko, ya sea por su leyenda, por la película japonesa o por el remake americano: la historia de ese perro que no aprendía trucos pero esperaba a su dueño cada día en al estación… incluso cuando este dejó de volver. Es cierto, el Akita es un perro increíblemente fiel, pero también hay que ganarse su confianza y su lealtad.   -Pastor Alemán   Uno de los más famosos entre todos los perros, y puede que tenga mucho que ver con la serie Rex, El Perro Policía. En ella, este inteligente perro salva el día más a menudo que su compañero humano. Todas las familias han tenido o conocido un pastor alemán, lo que parece señalarlo como un perro familiar y perfecto para los niños… pero no hay que olvidar que es un animal de trabajo con mucha fuerza y bastante orgullo.
