Decided since I was already drying the new doily on the guest bed I might as well do the annual reblocking of all my other doilies.
I didn't have quite enough pins for all four of these guys at the same time but the small circle one stays under a lamp and was the stiffest going in so a couple of it's fringe not getting pinned shouldn't be a big deal.
When I pin out my doilies I usually do a full like wash, soak in water, soak in starch but I didn't feel like that whole process so I just pinned them out dry and sprayed them with some water/starch mix. It was certainly faster but I'm not a fan, I got starch water literally everywhere. Next year I'll do the soak (which works out, they'll probably need a good wash by that point anyway).
Once these boys are all dry I'll wash and reblock some of my big doilies too, some of them are visibly dusty which tells me all of them are very very dusty and it's just hard to see. I'd like to get them all washed before thanksgiving, chronic illness permitting.

ngl i’ve grown incredibly fond of the poison ivy that’s taken like a third of the house. like she’s ruining the gutters and shit but i love her
#she’s so pretty and i’m proud of her she’s grown so much this summer and she’s so big and her leaves are as big as my hands#and she’s strong enough for birds to hang out and she’s trying to take over my window and i love looking at her#and she brings so many bugs to my window#can’t remember if i ever said it but yes my sister did get a rash from it. on her face even bc she’s a dumbass. i didn’t though i’m#still immune which is rad#anyway poison ivy is so cool….. i think she’s misunderstood she’s really very beautiful and very cool who cares if some ppl get a rash#from her. and who cares abt the gutters. or the walls. or the roof. or the windows. or the ability to walk on the porch without touching#poison ivy. these things all pale in comparison to her beauty

i think i was developing ulnar tunnel syndrome but not to worry! i crashed my electric scooter and hit my arm so hard that whatever was compressing the nerve got moved out of the way and now everything in there is fine and more or less normal again
#but now i'm covered in road rash and honestly i'd rather have the ulnar nerve problems back road rash fucking sucks#like. literally that was one of the first things i noticed after i got over the onset of Pain#the fact that my ring and pinky fingers were no longer numb#but the Pain was so distracting that i didn't think much about it and now a few days later my hand is still feeling better#and more normal than it did before i crashed#so like yeah i think that's literally what happened ?lmfao????????????????????????????????????
