These earrings are the result of my color palette challenge. I'm so pleased with the result and really enjoyed this challenge overall. The first night I spent trying to make these earrings was so frustrating because I was originally just going to hang the large holed glass beads from the chain. So simple, I thought. Well I was sure wrong because these beads had holes just large enough that they would not hang straight no matter what I did to them! Finally I gave up for the evening after at least an hour spent fighting them. The next evening I had the idea to add these crystal chip beads and use wire and they came together so smoothly. I definitely learned some lessons here: if it's frustrating take a break, don't be so stuck on one idea that you can't see a better one, and most of all sometimes you just need to pivot! These earrings turned out to be even better than I had originally envisioned them. I am so glad that I did this challenge and I definitely want to do another one like it in the future. It definitely stretched my imagination and got me to use these beautiful lampwork glass beads that I have been holding onto until the perfect idea came to mind. I think the timing is pretty good too, since these earrings look nice for Spring and Summer. You can purchase these earrings at the link in my bio. "Pro" tip for fellow chronically ill small business people: Do what you can ahead of time to make things as easy as possible for yourself when you pack orders. For me this isn't too time-consuming, because I don't get a whole lot of orders, so I like to pack up 10 bubble mailers in advance with everything except the jewelry and box. They typically last me about 5 months before I have to do it again. I do recommend this if you can do it. Pack your mailers or boxes with business cards, your packing materials like bubble wrap or tissue paper, marketing materials (I have printed thank yous and business cards that I include), and any bonus gifts. Then when you are ready to ship an order all you have to do is add the items that were purchased, maybe wrap them up with bubble wrap and/or tissue paper, seal it, and print a shipping label. Another thing that I do to be ready for orders in advance is to stamp a bunch of kraft paper jewelry boxes with bees and then add washi tape, on days when I'm feeling up to doing just a little. Before I did these things ahead of time it sometimes took me a whole week to finish packing and shipping an order. Now I can do it in a day or two. It saves so much energy on days when I am packing orders. I hope this tip might help some of you in the future.
