(Hanzo Hasashi x Sonya Blade)

Listen, listen, listen, hear me out on this one.

Even if you ain't a fan of the ship this is some angst I worked hard on. So hear me out on this one. It's also got some CageBlade vibes if you just want to be here for that.

Also I may have tweaked with the lore a little bit, but it's nothing that bad.

And I know I just made a post about them being friends and following it up with a ship post is rather inconsistent, but if you came here for consistency you're in the wrong house. The only thing I'm consistent with is my AU lore and my thirst for Reaper.

Anyways this takes place right after the events of MKX, and I mean like 6 hours afterwards. Like Quan Chi ain't even cold yet kind of right after.

There are a few jumps between events during different time periods, and while I'm sure ya'll are all smart enough to pick up on that there is a little --- that marks the switches between past events and the current event.

The grandmaster sat and observed the blonde woman in front of him practically yelling into a phone she was holding. He’d hadn’t bothered listening to the conversation and just looked around the room. It was much messier than he expected out of Sonya, but he wasn’t all that surprised.

Files and papers covered her desk, leaving little room for a computer that looked to be as old as Cassie and the old phone Sonya was currently yelling into. The filing cabinets around the room were just as messy. With boxes and papers piled on top of them as well.

Hearing the phone be slammed back onto the desk, Hanzo turned his attention to Sonya as she redirected her anger from whoever had been on the phone to him.

“You owe me, Hasashi.” She barked sitting at her own desk across from him. “I’m gonna have half the State Department and the National Security Council on my ass for the next six months because of you.”

She called him by his last name and was cussing, Hanzo realized he was definitely in the dog house this time.

Sonya let out a long sigh before leaning back in her chair and looking at the ceiling. “I told them Quan Chi tried to escape and was shot. As far as anyone is concerned you and your ninjas weren’t even in the country.”

“Thank you.” Hanzo finally spoke up.

She didn’t respond to that and the two simply sat in silence for who knows how long. Eventually Sonya let out another sigh before she sat back up in her chair and turned to look at Hanzo.

“Do you ever make a decision and it just blows up in your face so hard you think ‘I’m never doing that again’, but then as you get older you think maybe you’ll give it another shot? But even when you decide to try again there’s still that lingering fear that you’ll just screw it up all over again?” Hanzo simply listened to her talk.

“That’s not very specific, General Blade.” Hanzo remarked.

Sonya simply rolled her eyes at his answer and turned to the computer in front of her. “Forget it.” She muttered.

“What I mean is there are a lot of things you have done in your life that one would qualify as ‘blowing up in your face’, most of which I would not recommend attempting again.” Hanzo explained, that answer still didn’t seem to ease her annoyance.

“Are you saying I make a lot of mistakes, Hasashi?” Hanzo flinched when he heard her call him that again.

“You will just have to be more specific with me.” Hanzo replied. Sonya let out another sigh and turned back to him.

“You remember what happened with Johnny and me?”

He did, he’d even remembered when she’d told him about the divorce. It had been right after the two had managed to drag Kenshi out of yet another hole he’d dug himself into. Sonya had asked for the Shirai Ryu’s assistance busting into a Red Dragon base to save Kenshi and Hanzo hadn’t hesitated to say yes.

Sonya and him had been waiting in a hospital hallway for news about Kenshi’s condition and Sonya had been on and off her phone the entire time they waited. Eventually Hanzo’s curiosity got the best of him and he just asked what was so important. What he hadn’t noticed was the look on her face as she typed on her phone. She looked like she was on the verge of crying.

Hanzo had never seen her so upset and admittedly he was unsure of what to do. Eventually she turned her attention to him, and while trying to sound professional, just stated it. Her and Johnny were done, but he could still hear the crack in her voice as she said it and the water building up in her eyes. To her credit she didn’t cry that night, at least not in front of him.

He could’ve said something then, he shouldn’t have so he didn’t.

“General, are you asking me for romantic advice?” Hanzo asked.

A light blush seemed to appear on her face as she seemed to try and look anywhere around except him. “Not… Not exactly.”

“If you wish to date again you should. You and Cage have been separated for a while. I will admit it’s a bit surprising it took you this long to consider it.”

“You haven’t exactly seemed eager to jump back into the dating pool.” Sonya remarked. Before he could respond Sonya seemed to realize what she’d said. “Sorry. I know it’s not the same for you.”

“There was a time I had considered it.” Hanzo admitted, and at that Sonya had seemed taken aback. They’d known each other for 20 years and never once had she thought he ever seemed interested in dating anyone. 

“Did you have someone specific in mind or were you just gonna put yourself out there and see what happens?” Sonya asked, her tone seeming more casual then it had been a few minutes ago.

“There was one woman I had considered. We didn’t really get along well at the start but I started to respect her, even admire her. She could be quite reckless at times, and had a bit of an attitude most of the time.” Hanzo couldn’t help but smile a little as he explained.

He had never talked to anyone about this. Not when he’d started to feel that little familiar spark start in his chest again, not even when he’d desired nothing more than to suffocate it back out, or when it started to make him feel like he was burning from the inside. Not when he’d come to learn that the grief that came with letting someone slip away felt so much different than the grief of losing his family.

It was a different kind of hurt. One that would come and go depending on the day. While it wasn’t constant when it was there it felt suffocating, especially at times where she was sitting right in front of him, or times she would show even the slightest hint of concern if he’d been injured. Times where they’d just sit and talk after she’d asked for his help. They’d talk about anything, things he didn’t think anyone else would understand and things she was too afraid to talk to anyone about. He even knew her greatest fear, which he’d happily take to the grave.

With the Lin Kuei and Shirai Ryu at peace both Hanzo and Kuai Liang had decided to renegotiate their clans terms for working with the Special Forces. The original agreement had done its best to keep the two groups as separated as possible, but that was no longer needed.

The three groups had all agreed to meet at the Shirai Ryu’s new home to negotiate, and while Hanzo would never openly admit it, he was quite proud of what he had built. All three parties had come to a mutual agreement and the Special Forces were set to leave in the morning.

While she tried her best to hide it Hanzo could tell something had been eating away at Sonya the whole trip. Once all the official business was done and the two had gotten a moment alone he finally asked her. She denied it at first but it was not very hard to get an answer out of her.

Her daughter Cassie had enlisted in the military.

Apparently much to Sonya’s protest as well. Johnny had been openly supportive about the decision even after Sonya had pointed out every reason she was against it, most of those she repeated for Hanzo. Even with all the annoyance and anger in her voice, at her daughter’s decision, at her ex husband, and even at her inability to do anything about it, there was one feeling underneath all of it. A feeling he knew very well as a parent himself, even if for a brief time. Fear.

She was scared, terrifed even, of what would happen to her only child. Of what the future not held for her. Cassie would be going down the same path of her mother, the same path that had gotten her mother held hostage in Outworld, that had put Sonya on the receiving end of Hanzo’s own kuni on more than one occasion, that had put Sonya in the hospital time after time. The same path Sonya had gone down despite her own father’s protests.

An irony Sonya didn’t seem to be aware of about the whole situation, and while Hanzo had been tempted to bring it up he held back. She’d probably take it as him mocking her which wouldn’t be helpful right now. So instead he just let her talk, vent even, adding little to the conversation as she went on.

The only thing he’d been able to add was that Johnny probably felt a similar way as her, but that if Cassie was anything like her mother then fighting her would change nothing. Part of Hanzo wanted to smack himself. He couldn’t believe he was playing devil’s advocate for that man, but it was something she needed to hear.

After that the conversation seemed to follow a more casual direction. Hanzo had started to explain his plan to restore the fire gardens and eventually Sonya was telling him about the Special Forces operations in Outworld. They talked for hours, much longer than he had planned on, but everytime they seemed to finish talking about something another subject came up.

He couldn’t pull himself to say something then, he should’ve, but he didn’t.

“What happened?” Sonya asked, breaking him out of his thoughts.

“With the woman? Well… By the time I had felt ready to truly move on she had been taken.” Hanzo answered, almost muttering the last part.

That wasn’t all of it, but he’d never tell her that. It was true she had married Johnny, but then they divorced. He had no excuse after that but his own fear. Fear of rejection, of yet another loss, of the unknown. He couldn’t take any of those and he had no desire to put that on her either. They both lived very dangerous lives, and very separate ones at that. He wouldn’t give up rebuilding the Shirai Ryu and odds are it’d be a cold day in hell before Sonya quit the Special Forces, she wouldn’t even do it to try and save her marriage. He would never ask her to though. That didn’t make any of his feelings fade away and even 15 years later the thought would creep in from time to time and just sit there. The ‘what if’ of it.

But that was all it’d ever be, a ‘what if’.

“I believe we were supposed to be talking about you.” Hanzo finally pointed out, trying to redirect the conversation. “Now will tell me what you really want to say?”

The thought crept back in again as he sat there. If she was truly interested in dating again.

Maybe he could.

Maybe he should.

“Johnny thinks we should give things another shot.” She finally confessed.

There is was, the pain. The cold fire that wrapped around his lungs and the sharp stab that followed in his heart. Still he sat there, seemingly perfectly fine.

“And what do you want?” He asked.

Sonya let out a quiet laugh. He wasn’t sure what she was laughing at, the situation, that she was telling him of all people, or if she was just so tired all she could think to do was laugh.

“I can’t believe this, but I want to take him up on the offer.” She even seemed to smile as she said it.

That was it and he knew it.

He couldn’t, he shouldn’t, so he didn’t.

What type of Cards Against Humanity players would the Mortal Kombat X Kast be?

Note(s) : I have not played this game fully and I also haven't written for these characters before, this is almost definitely inaccurate and cringe, but I'm free.

Kung Jin -

Goes the dark humor route, but plays it with a complete straight face, he does laugh, but purposefully never at his own cards because he thinks it'll be 'suspicious'. It becomes a tell to see what his card is. He never picks what the person choosing would find funny, which means he usually never gets any black cards.

He will absolutely rage quit, or just try and get others to rage quit by being snarky and incredibly salty about his losing odds.

Takeda Takahashi -

He's not extremely dark humored (?) in his cards, but one of his cards made Liu Kang faint once. He typically goes to dad humor, the ones where you laugh at them but don't actually pick them.

He's never actually angry when he loses, sure, he's a bit salty especially if he finds his cards funny, but, at the end of the day, it's just a game.

Cassie Cage -

It depends on a, the black card, and b, the person choosing. She can win easily if it's her parents or Jacqui, she knows their humor, but if it's someone like Kitana she's screwed. Very 50/50 with her win chances.

She'll only get angry if Kung Jin wins, they're wlw and mlm hostility.

Jacqui Briggs -

Her cards are always hit or miss, she either puts her best card down on a prompt but someone else has a better card, or she saves her good cards until it's too late. She tends to get little to no black cards.

Never gets angry at a loss, she's pretty competitive during it, but afterwards even if she loses, she's just happy to spend time with everybody.

Kitana -

Gets confused on the point of the game, she's trying to keep her dignity and plays the less Inappropriate cards, whenever a particularly dark humor one comes along, she sneaks it back into the pile and picks a different card. She never gets black cards.

Doesn't get angry, she finds the game a bit pointless anyway.

Mileena -

The amount of horror this lady thinks of on the daily can't compare to any cards in any deck, she somehow always brings the worst one out, hardly ever wins because people are too horrified to pick her cards.

Will attempt murder if she doesn't win every round.

Johnny Cage -

Always goes the outwardly dad humor route, he rarely ever picks dark humor cards to put down unless that's all he has. Usually people can tell it's him, so he only wins if the person choosing likes him.

He says that he's only pretending to be salty as a joke, but in reality? It definitely makes him lose pride for at least one evening. Everyone can tell. And they all make fun of him.

Sonya Blade -

She plays with dry yet witty humor, ones you'd expect to see in a teen drama series or something, she's always relying on what she thinks her friends will find funny, and gets black cards regularly.

Will only rage if someone gets a black card and she finds the card genuinely unfunny, she can get over losing if she has a laugh over the card they chose, but if not, she's holding that over that person's head for years.

Kenshi Takahashi -

He's more of a judge, makes sure nobody commits murder, and makes sure nobody cheats. He can't play for obvious reasons, but he does secretly root for certain players, and may or may not excuse cheating if it means someone he doesn't like will lose.

Hanzo Hasashi -

He's silent the entire time, doesn't pick dark humor cards, and doesn't pick any funny ones, either, it's always a deadpan and scorchingly dry card, he's never won a single black card, everyone can tell it's his card, and nobody will pick his.

He's treating it more like a game of chess, and so when he loses he sort of just goes 'welp, could've been smarter.' And moves on.

Liu Kang -

He doesn't find any cards funny to be honest, and he mostly relies on how other people react to see what they find funny, as such, he has no black cards until the end, where he makes a comeback so insane everybody fully believes he cheats.

Won't rage if the comeback fails and he loses, however, he will get annoyed if Kung Jin wins. ( No but why was this man so outraged in every intro like calm tf down )

Kung Lao -

He won't be too sour if he loses, he's past the point of being insecure at every loss, but he definitely does try too hard to be funny. It makes everybody cringe. He gets at least one or two black cards on a bad day, but he plays too much into his humor rather than the person choosing.

Jackson Briggs -

Plays a lot of dry and witty type humor cards down, or ones where it's an actual answer to the card that would make sense, he's a sort of mix of Hanzo and Johnny, so he typically gets a few black cards, and wins maybe.

Doesn't get angry at all, he's just happy to be here.

Liu kang

A relationship with liu kang is a sweet one, he's the type who would never be afraid to hold your hand in public. Although before an established relationship, would get annoyed with "ooo you like them" comments from others, which yeah he likes you but also "shut up they're not my bf/gf" until he gets over himself and just goes "yeah and?"

Liu kang would give meaningful gifts, something he knows you would like but also use. But obsesses a little bit over it being your "favorite color"

If you're not "kombat ready" liu kang would at least want you to know how to defend yourself bc he knows he can't always be there to protect you (but by the elder gods he will always try anyways)

Johnny cage

Mr Hollywood himself takes absolute pride and joy in your relationship, Johnny may be a funny cocky man but he is 100% loyal to a fault and will go above and beyond for you. No price is too high for his sweetheart, the financial kind or the life risking kind. And contrary to what some might think, Johnny prefers more privacy between you two bc paparazzi is a bitch and a half, but also his love is something thats for you and nothing to prove to anyone else.

Johnny gives all the "klassic" romantic gifts, flowers, chocolates, teddy bears dressed up as scorpion. The amount of cheese this man gives off when it comes to love is astounding, but Johnny is just too charming to completely say "no" to when he's trying to woo you.

Despite the glamour and dramatic cinematic esque romance, Johnny would literally die for you no questions asked "Kombat ready" or not. But if you can kick some ass he wouldn't mind being "damsel in distress" for a moment even if it might hurt his pride a little (who knows, Johnny might find it kinda hot)

Raiden

Raiden's affection for you in private vs public is like night and day, but one thing no one can deny, you make him so much happier. He's more reserved in public but he's not going to deny you a kiss to the hand or a flirty, playful wink that's so quick you might miss it. But in private he's so much more relaxed around you, expect like, a lot of kisses and cuddling. Raiden might be a little touch starved, but even then he always asks for consent even if you already agreed to it before. He's also sassy as hell (raiden absolutely has personality and a sense of humor and just bc nrs forgot doesn't mean I did too)

Raiden is more of an "acts of service" type than a gift giver. But if he does give a gift it's either practical like clothing or maybe a little treat, or something very sentimental like a protective charm, something to give you peace of mind and to remind you he's always there for you even if not physically.

Raiden is definitely making sure you can handle yourself to some degree however capable you can be. If you are very willing to be "kombat ready" be prepared for some pretty intense training, but raiden is fair and won't push you unnecessarily anymore than you can handle

Scorpion/hanzo hasashi

Baby is so fucking protective of you its no joke, has the energy of a big looming dog if someone so much as look at you the wrong way. Very circumstantial with showing affection publicly, only comfortable when it's around people he knows wouldn't lay a finger on you. In private he is the biggest sweetheart, very very touchy and cuddly, and not afraid to show just how much he loves you and how much you mean everything to him.

Hanzo isn't much for gift giving, rather doing things for you more than anything. However he gives small but very thoughtful gifts, be it your favorite treat or a beautiful piece of jewelry that you once eyed like a week ago. He sees the little things that you like and takes note to give it to you, especially if it makes you smile, your smile gives him life.

Do i even need to tell you how devoted this man is? The man literally went through all manners of literal hell for his family before, the same applies to you. Only this time he will be better to not let rage blind him, should the worst happen. But by the elder gods whoever hurt you will pay dearly

Sub-zero/Bi-han

(Listen i know thats his noob-saibot form but i couldn't find a better gif of him)

Like hanzo, very devoted and passionate but less intense about it. It's cheesy as hell but you warm his heart, he might not like being overly affectionate with you on the account someone might "attack his soft spot" but regardless he still loves you no matter what, his actions will always say otherwise even if he's being "cold"

He's traditional with the gifts, flowers, hand written notes, and on rarer occasions he might give you a frozen treat. His letters however is where he can pour his heart out comfortably, where verbal words fail him, written poetry tells you just how soft you make him

Bi-han might be distant with you, at least to outsiders. But you know better, you know he'd do anything for you when it comes down to it. Perhaps even challenge his other loyalties if it comes to it

Sonya blade

Sonya is a bit awkward with affection, she's not the touchy feely type but she does love to sneak kisses when no one is looking or paying attention. She does love and care for you but she shows it a bit differently

Acts of service all the way, sonya would rather do something for you or with you. Not really the material type at all, but not to say she wouldn't give practical gifts like clothes or an item you would use often. However sonya would give you flowers on a very special occasion, sunflowers. Roses are usually the "klassic" but she thinks sunflowers are prettier anyways

Sonya cares so much she absolutely would die and kill for you. She'd probably also make sure you're "kombat ready" too, as much as you can as she knows she won't always be there to protect you, but by fuckin elder gods she'll try anyways

Kano

Kano is a stinky bastard, the obvious being said, it's no secret you're his soft spot. And kano makes sure to dial up the "big macho man tough guy" to 11, just to make sure no one even thinks about using you against him. Which may include kano being mean to you in public on purpose to keep up certain reputations. But in private? Like a whole new man, he's rough around the edges but he genuinely tries to be considerate. Super touchy and handsy, there's no inch of you he hasn't laid his hands on and thats not even in a raunchy way, he just likes holding you.

Kano is definitely the type to get you anything you want, but mostly gives you some nice (totally stolen black market) jewelry. You can have literally anything as long as you don't ask where kano got it (bc the answer is always something illegal probably)

Kano will never give you up without a fight and by elder gods he's gonna put up a fight because no one is gonna touch you except him. And perhaps fighting because of you he has some shred of honor. Although he wouldn't mind you defending yourself at all, hell that makes his life a lot easier

Shang tsung

Shang tsung isn't afraid to show affection, however in public it feels more like a display of "look at my pretty little toy" than something closer to a legit relationship, but that's only because shang knows better than to ever let anyone know the truth that you have his heart and soul. In private he is sensual, he's intense, passionate and all consuming. Shang is very vocal about showing his love to you in private and he will always remind you that not only your soul belongs to him, but his belongs to you. A rare gift you shouldn't take lightly.

Speaking of gifts, they are the most extravagant and expensive things. But shang pays attention, he knows exactly what you want when you want before you even know what it is that you want. Basically shang tsung's gifts are flawless and he will settle for nothing less.

Shang tsung may not seem like it to others (for obvious reasons) but he would quite literally raise hell if anything bad were to happen to you to a point he'd put his own ambitions on hold if it ment you'd be safe. Which is very significant for a man like him, consider yourself the most lucky (or unlucky depending on who you ask) person in the whole universe to ever had won his heart

Reptile/syzoth

Everyone is shocked to see syzoth take a lover, but for syzoth this is very much a big deal. Therefore he protects you fiercely, the one person to show him not only the respect he deserves, but also kindness. His race never truly had this sort of show of affection, they were lizard folk so they're detached from those sorts of bonds. However this doesn't mean syzoth can't feel love, he actually loves how warm you are. And as such will cuddle you to a point you might get annoyed bc good luck trying to get this big lizard off of you.

Food is a big gift you're gonna get, it's going to be a lot of raw meat so definitely tell him what you actually can and like to eat. Syzoth tries his best to give you things he thinks you'll like, so if you don't actually tell him what you like he'll give you shiny things and flowers (that are mostly weeds)

Syzoth absolutely defends you to the death and no one is gonna keep a limb if they dare hurt you. Although you might have to watch out bc syzoth might attack anyone else around even if they weren't involved in hurting you. You'll have to calm him down

Goro

Goro is the type to pick you up and go "look at my lover they are amazing" if the shokan prince takes a lover he's gonna show them off like a prize. But make no mistake he loves you and someone's gonna have to have some balls to disrespect you in front of goro.

Goro will make sure you have everything you ever need or want, although he's not much of the spoiling type, he might just make an exception if you bat your eyes at him and "put on your charm" so to speak. Depending on his mood goro might give you something no problem, but he might be either cheeky or moody and you'll probably have to literally fight him for that so, don't even try if you know you can't beat him in a fight.

It's a bad idea to hurt goro's beloved so rest assured that goro is gonna tear the limbs clean off whoever so much as dare threatens your life. And then proceed to beat them to death with their own limbs with one pair of arms, while holding you close with the other

Sonya: ...she probably just meant that they're in a relationship, romantic relationship

Raiden: What?! But then how do they- I must consult with the Elder Gods!

I am looking for roleplay partner who is around my age at least 18 and is really into Mortal Kombat 1 specifically mainly because this fandom has been my life once I’ve gotten into the storyline along with the game itself!

Please be at least 18+ I am not roleplaying with minors, that’s my only rule.

I am semi-literate to literate roleplayer but sometime I can type up two or more messages if I want to be detailed enough based off who I am roleplaying as! So I can type up 4-5 paragraphs. Or even more depending if I am not busy, I will be telling you my schedule because of school so please be considerate and patient.

Don’t block me out of the blue without telling me what is the problem because if I do something that annoys you do tell me and I will fix it right away because if you have job and life outside of social media I would like to at least know when you’ll be available after work or when you have days off work so I don’t accidentally annoy you sending a message every few days and starts to annoy you.

Got another request for ya! Can I please request headcanons for Cassie, Sonya, Erron Black, and Hanzo falling in love with a female firefighter/paramedic and comforting her when one of her comrades dies in the line of duty?

Cassie

- At first, she just found your career admirable, not immediately thinking of the risks it brought to the table; she was content to see how you took pride in what you did

- She knew from the start that your job was hard on you though, but this hit much too close to home for her this time around

- When she finds out about what happened she’ll drop whatever she was doing to come to your side; once at your side she’ll help get you cleaned up and sat down

Her first fear was that you were hurt as well, feverishly asking you if you’re okay until she gets her own thoughts into place to help you. She does her best to help calm you down, resorting to holding you tight and promising it’d be okay. “I’m so sorry, Y/N- I’m here now, it’s gonna be okay…” she’ll say, keeping you close to her. She’d convince you to take a leave to recover from what you saw, telling you it'd be better than trying to work while it all gnawed at you. Regardless of if you choose to heed her advice or not, she’ll support you through it all, doing her best to try and keep your head up. What you’re experiencing is intense and she respects that you need time to recover, often taking extra time off to be there for you.

Sonya

- When she first got with you, she knew better than to think nothing could go wrong, always reminding you to keep after yourself and not let yourself get too relaxed - Even still, when it all went wrong, she’ll drop her tough act in a heartbeat; rushing to your aid to keep you on your feet long enough to get someplace away from the chaos - She’ll do her best to keep you from seeing the body if it was recovered; she doesn’t want you having to see something like that in your already heartbroken state

After assuring you’re not injured yourself, she focuses on trying to bring you back down to earth, reminding you that you yourself are still alive, and that she needs you to focus. While it reminds her of the time, she thought she lost Jax she knew that your comrade wouldn’t be coming back. Once she has you calm enough to keep steady, she talks with you about possibly taking leave so you can clear your head, warning you that if you go back to work in such a state of mind you could get hurt. “I can’t let you go back out there and get yourself hurt, Y/N…” she’ll tell you as she’d hold your face to keep you looking at her.

Erron

- He knew well enough from his childhood that your profession wasn’t the safest around, that something could go wrong; but all his mental prepping did nothing to prepare him for helping you through the loss of a comrade 

- Fumbles a bit in the beginning after making sure you’re fine and not harmed; clearly not sure how to approach the situation

- He might seem distant at first, but he very much cares for how deeply you’re affected by what happened

Once he gets his head on straight, he’ll get you seated at home, wanting you to be away from everything that could make the pain worse. He’ll keep you wrapped up in his arms on the couch as he does his best to soothe you, reminding you that you have to control your breathing, even if it’s not the softest thing to say at the moment.

As you begin to calm down enough for him to discuss anything, he suggests taking some time off if you can, telling you that it’d be no good to just go right back out there with such a fresh pain. He even suggests going on any kind of a vacation, “It’d clear your head, baby doll…” he’d say as he kept you tight in his arms. 

Hanzo

- He had a general idea of how risky your profession was, always reminding you to be careful and telling you he loves you; knowing something could happen to you or another near you

- When it comes back to him that something did go wrong, his first real concern was whether or not you were hurt, and if you were he’d ensure you were taken care of first

- Only after you’re safe does he realize the reason you’re so emotional, feeling guilty for putting so much emphasis on you that he nearly forgot that things could happen to those you work with as well

He’ll hold you close and do what he can to soothe you down, using his warmth to comfort you. Your pain hits close to home for him, and he understands well enough that this will hurt for some time; so, his main goal is to bring you back down to him from your tears. When you’ve come down enough, he’ll ask you if you’d be willing to take time away from everything to work through the pain but wouldn’t want you to sway from your profession because he knew it was something you were passionate about. Even still, however, he doesn’t want you trying to continue with such a weight on your shoulders. “We’ll take this one day at a time...”
