You may know them as “that group of korean boys with crazy fans that worship them”. But I’m here to tell you a story about seven boys that inspired and brought together people of different ages, races and ethnicities, and genders and sexualities, except it’s not fiction.

Those seven boys started from nothing but a small company, a tiny budget, a dorm that could barely fit all of them, and dreams and a thirst for success. They were ridiculed, made fun of, and mocked when they debuted. After all, they were just the same old aspiring rookies with big dreams of making it big, this time from a barely known company, what made them think they would stand out?

They didn’t give up though, they almost did, but they didn’t. All it took was perseverance, hard work, and pure talent. Soon enough, their dreams went from topping the charts in Korea to winning a Grammy. They became known worldwide and some big celebrities even became part of their massive fanbase. You could say that they pretty much made it.

They’ve grown throughout the years, with their music constantly evolving and their song lyrics continuing to address different social issues like anxiety and depression to the different struggles our generation is going through today because of society’s expectations. They aren’t just kpop idols anymore, they’re musicians, artists that create music to express and inspire. Each member showcases different quirks and talents, and when you join all of them together, you really make something beautiful. We are the canvas, and they are the paint, they bring color to our worlds. They are part of the reason people smile every day.

They always express their love for their fans, even making the time to update them through social media despite busy schedules. Even if it’s simply just a tweet of what music they’re currently listening to, it means so much already. They make sure to always show appreciation to every single fan around the world. The first word that comes out of their mouths every time they make a speech is “ARMY”, and if that isn’t true and genuine love, then I don’t know what is.

Those seven boys, now known as BTS, proved everyone that doubted them five years ago wrong. They did make it big, and will make it bigger. There isn���t a limit to what they’ll achieve, they will continue to grow, and they will continue to stand out.
