Aidan:

I think the kiss...it was hard to make it real. I really had to let go of myself and be Five. It's really not easy to give a kiss and make it real. There's a lot of the relationship with Lila that we filmed but they cut it. It took weeks to film it and they used a few minutes in a montage. That wasn't right. It also made it very hard for viewers to believe when we spent weeks filming scenes to set up that scenario Ritu and I were there for weeks before someone else came to Canada to film our secret scenes first

There are also articles online that are not true. For example, David never had any problem with the romance between Lila and Five. Neither did Ritu. That's completely made up to attract clicks.

We also didn't know how it would end. Steve always hides the last script until the very end.

Steve basically wrote what he wanted and we were paid to do it.

No cast member has a vote on anything.

I would change it back to the original 10 episodes that Steve wrote.

When Netflix told him to cut it down to 6 episodes and remove all the expensive scenes, I'm sure that hurt the season a lot. It's like reading a well written story that has everything you ever wanted to explain about the show.

I mean, I understand that the show was no longer profitable, so it was a business decision.

We were lucky to be able to get a fourth season; it was actually a gift from Netflix to the fans because they didn't make any money on it

Actually, you should thank them for season 4. Any other network would have just cancelled the show. I heard they tried for years to fix the deal with UCP to make it profitable to move forward and UCP didn't do it.

OK, so UCP owns the show and struck a deal with Netflix to distribute it on their network. But with each season, the show cost Netflix more and more money from UCP. By season 4, it was no longer profitable

Anyway, I'm glad they made UA. It almost never got made. For years it was going to be a movie

Propaganda: These two are ridiculous omfg. They’re my favorite example of the medium/ghost trope. Klaus is never truly alone because he has Ben (deceased) following him around! Ben wasn’t tremendously close with Klaus in life, but he posthumously appreciates his company. They fight like an old married couple (which often gets Klaus funny looks, because nobody else can see Ben), but when it comes down to it they have each other’s backs. One scene of theirs that I enjoy is when they’re in the back of Diego’s car, and Klaus is deciding what he wants to eat, and asks Ben what HE wants, even though Ben is dead and unable to eat anything. Very thoughtful!

I’m a 21+ writer who is literate and writes multi-paragraph to Novella style responses in the third person. GMT Timezone and a regular responder hoping for the same. That said, real life always comes first to me and I deeply respect my roleplay partner and their time.

I have zero limits and I’m a huge fan of angsty stories with darker themes (taboo is fine with me) but I also like fluffy scenes. Discord preferred. I’m OOC friendly! I love writing side characters because I truly believe friendships and familial bonds are just as important as the main romance.

I’m open to all sorts of plots for the below pairings. I’ve included a few tidbits but I have hundreds of ideas in my head for them all. That said, I’d love to come up with something together and work as a pair to make an awesome plot.

Pairings

- Klaus/Diego

• Open to anything here with no solid ideas. Pushing Daisies style detective drama with Diego and Klaus solving crimes using the dead? Together in the 60’s AU with them having to find a way to have a life there while waiting on the others to show up, inadvertently playing house. Commission Diego or Klaus as the Lila type character.. Up for so many things :)

- Klaus/Five

• I’ve got a couple ideas for this. TW for suicide in the first!

• After a safe landing into the present, things mostly go back to normal except that Klaus isn’t coping. He chooses to die and is accepted up by the Lil girl in the sky. Except that Five isn’t happy with this and goes a day back in time to stop it. Then it happens again a week later. He goes back. So on and so forth. Eventually Five realises that the best way to stop this is by giving Klaus reasons to remain.

• The second idea is a loose concept with the Handler picking Klaus up and keeping him for a few years prior to her collecting Five. She moulds him into someone obedient enough to stay where he’s been put and makes him firm on the belief that leaving would be stupid. As Five joins the commission, The Handler takes him to Klaus just so he also knows that leaving would be the worst possible thing. They can spend time with each other so long as Five completes his missions. The consequences of stepping a toe out of line aren’t worth thinking about.

• I’ve got a bit of an idea of a plot, one that starts mostly as smut and develops as we go on. I’m thinking, at some point in the timeline, we find them taking a break. Five is stuck in this body and that comes with being overwhelmingly turned on. I’d love for him to go to Klaus and for them to come to a no-strings-attached arrangement where Five can experiment all he wants until he’s bored. But, as time goes on, it becomes less business and he is certainly not getting bored. Cue him realising he’s got feelings.

From there, I am open to any and all directions. Angst aplenty. Apocalyptic shenanigans.

• Being me your ideas too! Them stuck in the 60’s together waiting for the others to land? Five ending up the same age. Forced to survive together, Five getting a job… Klaus being Klaus.

• Just… Five being ‘I hate everyone but him’ and them being the definition of someone will die / of fun!

- Klaus/Axel

• A few more scattered thoughts. The Swedes being assigned to watch the Hargreeves in the 60’s and Axel being in charge of Klaus (can also do the same plot in the modern era) or a cute slice of life thing with Axel returning to the modern times and courting Klaus all old fashioned like. Open to anything:)

Alphonso/Klaus

• Completely wacky and random pairing here but essentially you’d be making Alphonso an OC as his backstory is all up to you (I do still want him to have that asshole frat boy antagonistic attitude we saw) to write against my Klaus. Four on Four! Plotty thought includes a world where the Kugelblitz is slower and Alphonso and, possibly, Jayme don’t get Harlan’d. I’m thinking we start with a physical relationship where Alphonso finds Klaus that time he’s with Reginald and, after some verbal sparring and plenty or irritation, they end up hooking up. With some time, this can grow.

What kind of a s/o you think is best for Klaus and who would he be actually really into? Characters from the show as examples work, anyone apart from Dave.

From existing characters? Well Ben is the easy choice. It's a popular ship for a reason. The chemistry is there. The history is there. The interesting dynamic too. Umbrella and Sparrow would work.

Aside from that...

Allison would do for a soft romance around taking care of each other and we know he has a good relationship with Claire. His ability to tear through the lies she tells herself would be useful as well.

Diego would be good for a fond exasperated affection deal.

Oh! Viktor. I loved the idea of Klaus and Viktor being close and forming relationship. They both had experience with isolating behavior, being singled out in the academy, and with drugs. Klaus was the only one who wasn't angry about the book. They have experience with struggling romantic lives and maintaining things. Those similarities could self-destruct but it can also be the thing that allows it to stabilize. Klaus' immortality would also make Viktor losing control over his powers less terrifying. I wish we did have more scenes with just them two. I think they had potential. (Also they were both particularly close to Ben growing up which is another thing to bond over)

as far as non-umbrella characters, nobody is standing out to me. Fei has a very different vibe which could be interesting. yeah no. that's all i got for the side characters. i mean Lila could be interesting too. they're both pretty blunt and chaotic and hard to kill. It'd be fun.

thinking about how diego is orderly and five is chaotic, but diego craves chaos while five craves order. walk with me here...

i. diego is orderly

in season 4, diego has the white picket fence life with lila. they're the spitting image of midlife domesticity. he values hygiene and precision of details, asks his siblings to take their shoes off in his house and notices the quality of the pinata at his daughter's party. he likes to adhere to routines, as seen in the road trip & his insistence that they keep good on time (you can even argue his delivery route has trained this into him as well). but even before that, he was close to grace as a child, so some of her decorum, tidiness, and organization skills probably rubbed off on him too.

ii. five is chaotic

five, on the other hand, was raised in the apocalypse. he's got no home skills, because he had no home for 75 percent of his life. he's programmed for violence (from the academy's training and the commission's genetic alterations making him the perfect assassin); that's why he's "buzzing after this morning's slaughter" in season 2, excitable against his own will. he's a great assassin, but a messy killer. the only time i can recall him killing someone neatly was grace in season 3: a quick and clean neck snap. you know, grace, who he killed so diego didn't have to.

ok this next part is kind of silly, especially because i'm not a physicist, but hear me out: five's power is an inherently spontaneous process, or a process that occurs without any external energy to help facilitate it. the second law of thermodynamics dictates that a spontaneous process results in an increase in entropy. when removed from any serious or real scientific meaning & instead applied to number five from the umbrella academy, it means that each time he jumps through time or space with the help of nothing but his own powers, he's increasing the amount of entropy/disorder in the universe.

iii. diego craves chaos

i mean. well let's just go in chronological order. he throws himself in harm's way as a vigilante in season 1. he has a huge hero complex, leading him to try & fail to prevent JFK's assassination, which points to his desire to have a greater impact on the world (re: "everyone changes the world, luther"). and if that doesn't spell it out for you enough, he literally wants five's epic job at the CIA and hates his dull, monotonous job as a delivery truck driver. (he also just wants five, but we'll get to that.)

iv. five craves order

again, do i really have to explain this when it's been explicitly illustrated by the show multiple times? i guess i'll summarize: tells klaus he doesn't actually want an apocalypse in season 1 before destroying the glass eyeball. oh he says it so many times in season 3, like wanting to retire, tells lila he doesn't "actually like chaos", tells his old self all he wants to do is buy that damn stingray car. and lastly, he enjoys his quiet domestic life with lila in the strawberry garden. so much so that he delays returning back home to another apocalypse he has to prevent, returning back home to their family.

and i want so badly to say that all of this is why five and diego are made for each other, why they balance one another out and complete each other, how they're everything they've ever wanted, but the truth is:

v. every time they get what they want, it all leads to shit

you know how season 4 episode 1 is titled "the unbearable tragedy of getting what you want"? well that basically sums this post up. every time five obtains order or diego gets a chance at chaos, it yields disastrous results.

in season 3, five gets to retire, but quickly gets pulled out of it when he realizes their existence in that timeline created a grandfather "kugelblitz" paradox. in season 4, he gets a shot at a domestic life, but ruins his brother's marriage, his relationship with diego, and his relationship with lila all in one go.

in season 1, diego finally convinces eudora to try fighting crime his way, bypassing all the red tape of the cop life, but it leads to her murder which he gets arrested for. at the start of season 2, he successfully prevents JFK's assassination, but ends up causing nuclear warfare and killing all of the umbrellas and then some.

ultimately, while five & diego and their desires & their attributes fit together like cookie-cutter puzzle pieces, the puzzle they're a part of is a fucking bomb. and if they click together and get what they want, the world explodes. they're perfect for each other, yet doomed to be apart. they're kind of like ben and jennifer but good if you think about it.

Propaganda: I believe that their relationship and love for each other is only enhanced by all the fighting in their youth and season one. In season two, they’re a great duo, and help each other out when possible. Their personalities contrast each other (Luther being very polite, Diego being brash), and Diego helps to save Luther from of the sheltered worldview he carried into adulthood. Growing up there was lots of competition— Diego wanted badly to be the strongest and trained accordingly, and Luther was just the golden boy, already perfect— and the both of them are still immature around one another in that aspect. There’s contrast to be considered regarding Luther’s self destructive tendencies and Diego’s “my body is a temple” attitude. Luther idolized their father while Diego hated him. They’re both just big dumb boys, and they both want to be loved so badly— why not find it with each other?
