2 - Favorite Player: Either Oshie or Tarasenko. Tarasenko was the one who got me into hockey and Oshie... well he just gives off pure chaotic energy and I just love him. Honorable mentions go to Crosby, Fleury, Kyrou and Debrincat. 3 - Favorite Rivalry: Bit biased but I'll have to go with Penguins vs Caps. Hawks vs Blues comes close though (in fact that one used to be my favorite but tbh ever since the dynasty core faded away it's kinda died out. Maybe with Bedard and Dvorsky around...). Other honorable mentions go to The Battle of Alberta and The Battle of Florida! 25 - Favorite Rookie: Speaking of whom, Connor Bedard! I can't explain it but he just seems... kinda silly lol. When they're younger they do, yeah - they're each convinced the other one's slumming it, and are waiting for the other shoe to drop, but by the time they're both regulars in the league, and playing well, they're confident in each other and their relationship and it's not really a problem

😚 - When one gets sick, what does the other do? 

Alex definitely dotes because Trevor turns into the biggest baby when he's sick and wants cuddles from Alex and pats on the back and to be fed soup, and given crackers and everything else he asks for

Alex mostly just wants to sleep so he lays down with his head in Trevor's lap and Trevor plays with his hair and puts on Alex's favorite shows for them to watch

(When it's concussions making ALex sisk, Trevor puts in the darkest blackout curtains he can find, and takes everything that makes any noise out of their room, and puts his phone on the lowest light (just so he can check the time when he needs to), and lays down with Alex and rubs his back, and cuddles him when he needs it, and helps him to the bathroom is he needs that, too)

Question for you if you dont mind. If a team claims a player off waivers after the trade deadline, can that player play in the playoffs?

I don't mind and this is a hilarious scenario to talk about but it's accurate and it's saddening. Because if you get waived and you get claimed you are ineligible to play for the remainder of the season. And in order to be eligible to play in the AHL you had to be on the AHL roster before the trade deadline.

Meaning if a player gets waived and claimed they cannot even play in the AHL unless otherwise noted in a previous paper transaction.

So I'm going to do a quick breakdown of all of the post trade deadline rules for anyone & everyone who's not aware of them and or are new to hockey or the NHL

Teams can still waive and claim players however claimed players are ineligible to play for the remainder of the (NHL) season. We may see some later in the season for teams whose AHL teams are making the playoffs.

The trade deadline is not actually a hard cap on trades for the season. We will still be seeing people getting moved for future considerations, or for their AHL teams as the AHL trade deadline is exactly a week after the NHL

Players can still be signed. However players that are signed after the trade deadline that we're not already on the reserve list are ineligible to play in the playoffs. You'll probably see this most often with college signees or AHL boys that get NHL contracts and play the remainder of the season but are still ineligible for the playoffs

For a player to be sent down to the minors after the trade deadline they must have been on the AHL teams roster prior to the trade deadline. Players who are waivers exempt are still subject to this rule and as such that is why we saw a bunch of people sent down right before the trade deadline that way their players can get sent down for possible playoff runs. The only exception to this is players that need to go on conditioning loan Post injury (Long Term/LTIR) to make sure they're good to play in the NHL

The major rule post TDL is that teams only have four recalls (non-emergency) for the rest of the season. So paper transactions that during the beginning of the season would be often. Emergency recalls are limited to a team that has less than twelve (12) healthy forwards, six (6) healthy defense men, or their two (2) healthy goalies. Teams must be able to fill their roster in order to play they're required to have eighteen (18) skaters and two (2) goalies, and requires the cap space to be able to call these players up. When players become healthy again and are roster eligible they must then send the recalls back down or they are changed into a paper transaction and takes one of their four slots.

Hey Hockey fans! I wanna do a bit of research for an infopost I'm considering making. So here's a genuine question because I've been thinking about it for a while: When a player, especially one you've admired for a while, is revealed to be someone problematic (bigoted, abusive, or just a questionable history in general), how do you approach that (Especially when it comes to fanart, fanfic and just... generally posting about them?). Approaches can range from anything from ceasing about posting them (outside of occasional reblogs) or continuing to post them but adding a disclaimer. Additionally, what advice would you give to new hockey fans regarding such players? Hell, I'm actually interested in some advice as well, considering my own habit of posting problematic players (something I admittedly feel slightly conflicted about, especially as a young hockey fan who's still learning about the sport and it's culture).

not well-versed on it either. I think @hard4softthings knows more than I do. but tl;dr FROM WHAT I KNOW -

Seattle Kraken find out about BookTok that they seem to interpret is promoting their players. They ask one influential BookToker if she wants to have an all-expenses paid trip to a Kraken game (presumably to grow the Kraken's following among the new generation). Problem with BookTok is that, unlike HockeyBlr and Ao3, BookTok has very little understanding of a fourth wall. BookTokers went to games with signs like "krak my back Wennberg" (one of the players) which. Yikes.

So Felicia Wennberg, wife of Alex Wennberg, writes an Insta story post that's like "we love our fans but like please don't do this, Alex is a married man and it's making us uncomfortable, not to mention that if he were a woman and the people doing this stuff were men this would be clearly viewed as sexual harassment". Alex later posts a similar story. BookTok does NOT receive this well and begins attacking the Wennbergs for... asking people to not catcall Alex while he's working??? I guess??? And posting nasty comments on their Instagram posts dating back a while...

I also think there was something about Felicia being a racist because the BookToker she called out was Black? Which, I don't buy that she's racist for asking a Black person not to do something bordering on sexual harassment, but again, I don't know all the details here.

Just don't go on TikTok ever for any reason ever and you'll be fine. That's the general rule I stick to in life and it serves me well.

Also, lock your fics, lock your tumblrs, and generally work to keep the fourth wall intact because people will be ANGRY and posting nasty stuff on whatever they can find. Which, you should be doing this anyway because NHLers generally don't want to look up their name casually and find posts thirsting over them, fics about them boning their teammates, and whatever else have you. Except maybe Tyler Seguin but that drama is a WHOLE other can of worms.

Again, I might be wrong about this but this is just what I understood from the posts I've seen about it. If I am wrong, please feel free to correct me.
