Hareway To The Stars is probably the first Marvin short I ever watched. I've always thought his color change was really cute/interesting. Has there ever been a reason stated why his palette was changed to green and gold for the one short?

I've been doing a lot of thinking after seeing how Bugs was was treated in Hareway to the Stars, when he was forced aboard the ship and berated for being just an "expandable" rabbit.

Anyways here's a chart of how much various Looney Tunes are seen as people.

Edit: The Looney Tunes Show universe isn't included because it's society is more equal, at the cost of heavy assimilation.

The finish line is where it only begins.

New Hareway is only an insignificant speck on the map, but it's a name heard by those with thirst for thrill in their blood; and it's a place you call home.

For a few weeks every year, the small southern city becomes a runway of shining race cars and fabled faces. And growing up on the stands by the roads, watching your father become a renowned racer himself, it seemed to be almost a given for you to step into his shoes.

However, you despise the reason you had to do all this for. You always thought — hoped when you finally sit behind the wheels of a racing car, it'd be to carry your own name; not to lift a legacy from the ashes of your father's past.

But unfortunately, the circumstances weren't to your benefit, to begin with. Having started your own career only after your father's untimely retirement, it simply couldn't be helped. Though you don't complain — this is much more than you've bargained for. And you've done plenty of a good job to earn yourself a name among your peers; your father's now merely a shadow over your shoulder.

And amongst all, you have your own small circle of people with their unwavering faith in you. One of them being your favorite mechanic whom you'd like to call a close friend as well. Someone who also happens to keep you and your bed warm at night given any day you ask him for it.

Alas, as time for the yearly tournaments draw closer, an old enemy returns to loom over your life — someone you've made a deal with long ago who's coming back to raise hell in your life once again. And you're wondering just how far they're willing to go to get what they want. And how far you're willing to bend to save your own neck.

Just thinking about Duck Dodgers 404 and how formidable a villain Hareway/404 might have been if we got the comic.

Like, if Hareway was running on that Bugs Bunny kind of luck, then Dodgers would have his work cut out for him (especially if he's running on Daffy's luck). I think it was sort of hinted at in the art that the Martians would end up working together with the Galactic Protectorate because Hareway/404 was THAT DANGEROUS.

What was the first Marvin the Martian cartoon you watched?

If I had to guess I'd say Hareway to the Stars. I know I was really little watching boomerang and seeing him in the green suit. I always thought he was neat since I was little. But I never saw enough of him to get really attached
