yeah! they’ve had them for... a while now? maybe half a year? but i know they aren’t out for everyone and it’s only if you follow certain tags? (i think?) only really popular blogs have them rn and i have no clue how you get them or how you can make them? but i didn’t see anyone post about them until today and i can’t find that post anymore! so i thought they totally disappeared all together after tumblr changed hands

Thomas gets SO WILD in bed every time Edward speaks French to him. The lieutenant is quite glad he was hardworking in French class as a boy.

I ADORE everything about this headcanon, but lord almighty I would never be able to write it as authentically as it deserves (my only language other than English being a couple of mediocre semesters of Spanish).

But just to enjoy everything that’s so sexy about this:

Edward being multilingual as he is a cultured and educated Victorian gentleman.

Tom being all starry-eyed over Ed’s whispering sweet nothings in his ear, especially in a romantic language.

But also, this leads to Tom being turned on almost instantly — anytime Ed starts speaking in French. Anytime.

(Ed is confused by this at first, but once he realizes why Tom gets flustered, he very much enjoys taking advantage of his newfound power.)

Tom, trying to save face, jokes once that Edward could recite anything from muster lists to recipes in French, and it would still be arousing.

(Because, whether it’s self-consciousness or a lack of practice that makes Edward do so, Ed pitches his voice lower and softer when he speaks French. And my, that does things to Tom.)

However, Edward is a romantic at heart, so he is always careful to quote verse (or painstakingly write his own beforehand) as well as wax poetic about Tom’s handsome features, his eyes, or his body.

Hickey/Irving + roses

Normally quite observant of his surroundings, the sight of their property in full bloom had taken Hickey’s breath away.

Weeks and months of sweat and digging, of failure and triumph, finally it had all paid off. The former lieutenant had dedicated so much time and love to every bud and blossom he introduced to their little home, nursing wilting leaves and bent stems until they were strong and bursting with color.

Hickey had been so engrossed in watching the work between his chores that the thought of seeing a payoff hadn’t entirely crossed his mind.

He watched with a gentle smile as Irving carefully caressed a red rose. It contrasted with his pale hands and dirty nails, but they were both so beautiful in that moment.
