Hello, everyone. This is Cian and this is an oneshot request page! I've been wanting to do something like this for a while, but whenever I attempted it on Wattpad, it was always a flop. I wish this won't be the case here. I'll be taking ship requests from a variety of media. I will not limit it to a particular fandom, solely because I'm part of a whole bunch and I wanna write for most of them if given the chance. While sending in your request, keep in mind, there are a few rules to this. They are on my profile, so please read them and make sure you understand them well!

I present to you the ships that I'm able to write about. I prefer some more than others and that will be represented. Red for favorites, blue for not favorites but great, and orange for okay. Shinkane Week Day 6: Fantasy AU

Fandom: Psycho-Pass (crossover w/ The Witcher)

Pairing: Shinkane (Kogami/Akane)

Characters: Shinya Kogami, Akane Tsunemori, Shuusei Kagari, Haruki Shirogane

Summary: When a contract leads the witcher Shinya Kogami to a rundown castle, the last person he expects to run into is a certain sorceress.

A/N: Content warning for references to sexual assault (Very distant and roundabout, but the references are there nonetheless). Further, less necessary author’s notes can be read on AO3.

“Ko.”

“Hm?”

“You said we were off to a castle.”

Kogami spared a glance at Kagari, and found him frowning up at the dilapidated castle in front of them. He already knew what the bard would say. “No, I said I was following a contract sent out by a lord.”

“Lords live in castles, right?”

“Kagari, you didn’t need to be here.”

“And miss out on lavish residence? In a castle?” Kagari sounded indignant, and Kogami imagined he looked it too, if he weren’t set on not sparing a glance to his companion.

“You’re more than welcome to leave,” he muttered, dismounting from Roach and handing the horse off to a stablehand. “I’m sure you have more exciting places to be.”

“No need to undersell yourself, Ko, I get all my best material from you!”

Kogami didn’t grace Kagari with a response. Not that the bard needed a response - he could find ways to keep talking when he wanted to. But as they made their way to the battered doors of the castle and were led through the dark, grimy halls, Kagari seemed perfectly willing to pipe down. He kept close to Kogami, who was able to see perfectly well in the dark, his cat-like eyes allowing him to see their servant guide even from a few feet away.

They were led to the grand hall, though “grand” seemed a bit generous. It was certainly cleaner than the rest of the castle, the windows allowing a bit of the late afternoon sunlight in. But it was one of the smaller throne rooms Kogami had been in, the distance from the doors to the thrones easily crossed in a few strides. He was still mindful to keep some distance between himself and the lord who lounged in his throne, looking awfully bored for someone who had sent out such an urgent request.

“Ah, Shinya Kogami, the Grey Wolf,” Lord Shirogane drawled, finally sitting up on his throne. “So good of you to join us.” He grinned at Kogami, who remained silent, his clenched jaw belying the respectful downcast of his eyes. “I suppose the rumors are true about you Witchers...awfully spare with your words, aren’t you?”

“We aren’t hired for our turn of tongue,” Kogami murmured, “...Your Grace.”

“That you aren’t.” Lord Shirogane’s eye fell on Kagari, the bard unabashedly taking in his surroundings. “And who is this?”

“Ah-”

“His assistant,” Kagari cheerfully answered, earning an annoyed look from Kogami that he was only too happy to ignore. “Just here to help out with his Witchering!”

“...I see.”

“Your Grace,” Kogami finally cut in, “the contract you sent out sounded urgent. The sooner you are able to tell me all you know, the sooner I will be able to clear out the problem for you.”

“Ah yes, our little problem.” The reminder of the contract seemed to sap Lord Shirogane of all urgency, making him wilt back into the repose he had been in when they arrived. “It would seem there’s a ghost disrupting the servants.”

“A...ghost?”

“Mm.” To his limited credit, Shirogane looked just as annoyed as Kogami felt over contracting a witcher for such a menial thing. “The whole lot of them have tried everything they could think of, all sorts of occult and religious rituals. I couldn’t be bothered to care about any of it, but their sightings have started interfering with their actual work.”

“Meaning…” Kogami did his best to choose his words carefully, something that was never his strong suit. “You sent out a contract on behalf of your servants?”

“I sent out a contract on behalf of saving what shreds of efficiency I had left in this place,” Shirogane snapped. “Nothing was getting done with them jumping at every shadow and noise.”

He was lying. That was as plain as anything to Kogami. The man wouldn’t send out a contract for a witcher just for the sake of his servants. If productivity were really the problem, he almost certainly would have turned to a more...martial punishment. No, Lord Shirogane must have seen the “ghost” himself, and the battle between his pride and his nerves had clearly ended unfavorably for him.

Still, as much as Kogami hated nobility, he had enough experience dealing with them to know that calling their bluff was rarely worth the satisfaction. “And, ah...have they told you anything about what their encounters were like? I need any information that can help me identify the creature.”

As he’d expected, Lord Shirogane was able to provide details that no servant would relate to a lord. Not the Kogami cared. All that mattered was that he was able to properly classify what the “ghost” was: a penitent. It explained the strange darkness that seemed to linger over the castle, and the random encounters that had paralyzed the castle’s occupants with fear.

One last question lingered for Kogami: what had caused one to appear? A penitent was a rare type of wraith to encounter, arising only to haunt those who had committed the gravest crimes. He didn’t need to know the crime in order to drive the wraith away, nor did he think he would get any further explanation from Lord Shirogane. But as he left the throne room, Kogami felt a visceral disrespect for the lord rising bitter in his throat.

Kagari, to his credit, had been surprisingly quiet for much of the exchange...suspiciously so, in fact. While Kogami made his way towards the cellar, all he could hear of the bard was his footsteps, his heeled boots gratingly loud in the dour castle. It was only when they were faced by the ethereal smoke creeping out of the cellar that he finally piped up.

“Wow, would you look at that? You know what, Ko, I think I’m feeling plenty inspired!”

“Oh, are you?”

“Absolutely! In fact, I think I’d better go and...act on that inspiration.”

“Well, don’t let me stop you.”

And so Kogami found himself alone in an old cellar, surrounded by dark smoke that seemed to get thicker the further he went. The smell of spectre oil wound through the tendrils of smoke as he applied it to his silver blade, ready to use it at any moment.

His ears were waiting for the suction of air that preceded a wraith’s arrival, or the eerie sound of its corrupted cries. What he didn’t expect to hear were the low, familiar tones of a certain sorceress.

“Hello, Kogami.”

He whirled around. He had smelled the lilacs and gooseberries, but he didn’t want to believe she could be here.

But there she was. Her black dress and cloak would have let her blend in with the shadows of the dark cellar, but she didn’t wear the hood, and her pale skin and brown hair looked almost eerily disembodied in the dim light. “Tsunemori...didn’t expect to see you here.”

“What exactly are you doing here?”

“Answering a contract, doing my job. What about you?”

“A contract?” Akane repeated, smoothly ignoring his question. Her face, usually open and kind in a way that was unusual for sorceresses, looked hardened somehow, and at Kogami’s words, her eyes narrowed in suspicion. It was a strange look on her, and it made Kogami nervous. “A contract for what?”

“Servants saw a wraith. Tsunemori, what’re you doing here?”

“Let’s say I’m here for the wraith as well. What did the servants hear, exactly?”

“Let’s not say you’re here for the wraith,” Kogami bit out, “Let’s say you tell me the truth. Why are you here, Tsunemori?”

“I am telling the truth,” Akane snapped. “I’m here for the wraith. I...I know who she is.”

“What?” They had been gravitating towards each other as they spoke, but at Akane’s revelation, Kogami suddenly stepped back. “How do you-?”

“She’s Yuki. Yuki Funahara. She was a servant girl who worked for Lord Shirogane, until...until he…” Her voice caught, and just like that, the hardness in her face melted away to reveal grief, raw and terrible. The pain on her face made Kogami reach out to her, instinctively wanting to smooth away the lines of grief, but it was her turn to step away. “She killed herself after what he did to her, and they didn’t give her a proper burial. I’m here to help her pass on in peace...and to ruin him.”

“Akane-”

“She was my friend. Before I left to become a sorceress, she was my best friend. She wanted so much from life, and instead…” Her voice was harsh around the edges, and again Kogami longed to run his hand down her throat and rub away the broken notes. “I could have killed him by now, but that would be too easy. I am going to make him feel a pain that will consume him, rob all his joy until he is left with the agony, make sure he feels a fraction of what he did to her. I won’t shorten his life, but I will make sure every moment he has left is filled with nothing but torment.”

The new information was surprising - it was hard for him to imagine the powerful sorceress coming from such a humble background, especially from a backwater town like this - but he couldn’t focus on that. Kogami was often called a wolf, but in that moment, Akane was the wild one. Her anger burned bright, her eyes shining clear with the justice she had planned, and he knew nothing he could say would stop her. And he didn’t want to stop her. “Do what you have to. But Akane, when our work is done, leave with me. Leave this place behind. Rest easy with your justice, and leave it to do its work.”

Whatever Akane had been expecting him to say, it wasn’t that. Her anger was momentarily replaced by surprise, then relief...and then, finally, she stepped close. Anon, you are absolutely correct! Damn, why didn’t I think of that before?

Let’s see…there is at least one transgender kid, and it’s one of Miu’s daughters. According to my notes, Miu’s daughter Chika Iruma is a transwoman who came out as transgender but isn’t necessarily open about it. She’s out to her family, who loves and supports her, but she’s not open about it to others outside of her family.

There are also two kids who identify outside the gender binary. One of them, Haru Shirogane, is Tsumugi’s child who is AFAB (assigned female at birth) but identifies as non-binary and tries to present themselves as androgynous as possible. The other child is Korekiyo’s kid, Shizuoka Shinguiji, who identifies as non-binary and leaves their gender up to interpretation from the others. Appearance-wise, they look much like Kiyo, so I imagine softer facial features, long hair, and a more straighter and tall body-type.

There’s another included here who doesn’t quite identify as cis-gendered. Chiemi Oma, Kokichi’s daughter, identifies as a demi-girl and is comfortable with feminine and gender neutral pronouns. Her feelings about being a girl is more fluid as some days she feels comfortable under the “girl” label, other times not, and other times still she’s unsure. Her feelings upon her gender identity at any point in time probably fuels her inspiration to design various eccentric yet tasteful fashionista outfits and household decorations.

Tsubasa Idabashi, Kiibo’s son, is probably another one who is not cis-gendered because he wasn’t taught the distinction of gender identities as he was growing up. As Kiibo himself never thought of his own gender identity and just accepted masculine pronouns because that’s what people used to call him, Tsubasa would probably have a similar approach because that’s how he learned things from his dad. He doesn’t particularly have an attachment to the “boy” label but prefers to be called with the masculine pronouns anyway since those are what’s been used to refer to him since he was very young.

As for ages…gosh, I’m not sure. I haven’t assigned birthdays to each of them, and in the case of Miu, her two oldest aren’t twins but are both involved in the game nonetheless. Still, if think about acceptance of students enrolled at Japanese schools according to the start of the Japanese school year then students born starting in April would be the oldest and those starting in March would be the youngest in a single class. In that sense, Haruki, one of Kaito’s sons, would be one of the older students as he was born on May 1st, and Miu’s younger daughter, Atsuko Iruma, is currently the youngest as she’s 8 years old when the game takes place.

There’s a lot of fleshing out to do about these characters, but I’m still so excited about it! And I delight in imagining the shocked/horrified/despair-filled faces of their parents as they’re forced to watch their kids murder each other and become gruesomely executed :’‘‘)

Offipro 3 - Shizuka Homura

So there was a full page that I realized I only translated for personal use (and I used to do the shortcut method before when I would just point the camera at the screen while it translated live - see my OG post about his data) but now that I'm doing something extra, well... let's just say I should have done this while I was finishing up the last chapters of volition. ANYWAY, same method as before, I'll also paste the JP text afterwards. As this is a digital release, I will not be posting the pages online. Character Setting

The way he dresses in a black and white suit gives the impression that he is a brilliant young businessman. However, his soft smile gives off a mysterious mood that makes it difficult to distinguish between friends and foes.

Character Profile

He was raised by his adoptive father, Koichiro Homura, as an assassin for Haruki Shirogane and Kyoko Saionji. All of Koichiro's biological children are eustress-deficient or latent criminals, and Shizuka has taken over the role of Congressman in place of his adoptive father, who was expelled from Bifrost. He always has a gentle smile on his face, and it is difficult to tell from his expression what he is thinking. His true intention was to eliminate Bifrost. Finally, after the other two Congressmen were executed by Round Robin, he selected the Sibyl System as the new Congressman. With this choice, Round Robin was placed under the Sibyl System's recognition, and upon completion of its role, Bifrost was also annihilated. After its demise, Shizuka became the new head of the Public Security Bureau. As a condition of his appointment, he demanded the safety of Arata Shindo and Kei Mikhail Ignatov, and the release of the imprisoned Akane Tsunemori. Despite his great achievement of destroying Bifrost, he still refers to himself as a “fundamentally average person”*, and with Bifrost’s destruction, he finally became a living citizen within the Sibyl system. His true desire was to get rid of the entire Homura family fortune and live “a life of his own”.

note: i tried 3 translators and the word "assassin" did not change and i checked it with a reliable source who is a native JP speaker, so I guess it was really it. yeah, i know. 🤯

*also translated as "basically an ordinary human"

The series follows the lives of the people in the drop in centre, from Haruko who wishes to marry her closeted girlfriend, to Misora who is still trying to figure out what their gender is but has the threat of puberty hovering of their shoulder.

It’s very clear that Kamatani-sensei has written this story FOR the Queer Community. It’s a truly beautiful story. Please give it your money if you can, so that Kamatani-sensei can actually earn some money, and so that Seven Seas know that there is a viable audience for these stories! So that we may get more content!

Reverse Harem

Fruits Basket is NOT a reverse Harem, but i figure there’ll be some fan crossover.

Doting single father, Kakushi Goto, is determined to hide the fact that he writes echhi humour manga for a living. He couldn’t bare it if his daughter were to ever find out the truth, the shame of his profession only alienating her. A laugh out loud series that will suddenly cut you deep as it explores the nature of grief and familial love.

My Brother’s Husband Manga: 2/2 volumes available in English

“Yaichi, a stay-at-home single father, lives with his daughter Kana in suburban Tokyo. They are visited by Mike Flanagan, the widower of Yaichi's estranged twin brother Ryōji, who has traveled from his native Canada for three weeks to learn about Ryōji's past. Kana is fascinated by Mike and is immediately accepting of him, though Yaichi is hesitant to accept Mike as family.

Whilst the trope of “the gay brother dies and the heterosexual brother learns not to be homophobic” might be over done in western media, the same is not true for Japan. It’s a heartfelt and honest look at grief and acceptance, as well as how the nature of family is changing all around the world... but attitudes are maybe conservative attitudes aren’t as quick to catch up.

Nichijou: My Ordinary Life Funimation (Dub/Sub)

So apparently everyone went “this show is undubbable! It relies too much on puns and untranslatable humour!” and then Howard Wang said “hold my beer” and did it. A bizarre comedy series set in a high school. It’s probably best known for the ongoing fight between the deer and the principal.

Way of the Househusband Manga: 4/5+ (ongoing) volumes available in English

After he meets and marries the career driven Miku, Tatsu AKA The Immortal Dragon decides to give up his life of crime to commit to being the worlds’ best husband. You’d be surprised at the transferable skills between a Yakuza enforcer and a house husband. From knowing how to efficiently cut up a slice of meat, to how to perfectly clean a bathroom of all evidence. Hilarious and heartwarming, Taki and Kyoko would be best bros.

Slice of Life + Supernatural

Bought to you in various parts by the creators of Squirrel Girl, Jughead combines slice of life with spy thriller, time travel and the joy of a good burger. Hilarious and heart warming, this run holds a special place in my heart as the one where Jughead was confirmed as canonically asexual and continues to express various aro/ace moods throughout the series. There’s a REASON my friends say I’m a Real Life Jughead....

Weathering With You - available digitally/physically 28th Sep. 2019

In June 2021, first year high schooler Hodaka Morishima leaves Kōzu-shima in order to get to Tokyo. When his ferry to the city is hit by a rainstorm, he is saved by Keisuke Suga, who runs a small occult magazine that’s looking for an assistant. As Hodaka becomes broke and struggles to find work, he meets Hina Amano, an employee of a McDonald’s restaurant. She takes pity on him and gives him food. After agreeing to work with Suga, Hodaka learns about the legend of the “sunshine girl” who can control the weather! It turns out that the newly unemployed Hina is a sunshine girl! And with her little brother, they start up their own business to bring sunshine to the never-ending rain of Tokyo.

Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches Crunchyroll (Dub/Sub) 12 Episodes Total Manga: 22/28 volumes available in English

After tripping on the stairs, School Bad Boy Ryu Yamada and Top Student Urara Shiraishi discover they can swap bodies with a kiss! They then learn that they’re not the only ones with magic powers in the school, and with the help of the Supernatural Studies Club they begin to track down the identities of the 7 witches of Suzaku High.

This series really stretches my limits on fan service, but at least it does proceed to get a little even in terms of gender. It’s still a really rather sweet and romantic series, once you get past the boobs and panties.

Your Name Netflix (Dub/Sub) Spin Off Manga “Your Name: Another Side: Earthbound” - 2/2 volumes available in English

A modern take on the Red Sting of Fate mythos, Mitsuha and Taki are two teenagers tied together. Three times a week, Mitsuha will wake up in Taki’s body and live the life of a Tokyo School boy. In turn, Taki will wake up in Mitsuha’s body and learn what it is to be a Rural Shrine Maiden. A look at the bonds that tie us, and how fate won’t let two young people fall apart before they can meet.

Also the animation is BEAUTIFUL and it made me cry. Like a lot. There’s a spin off manga called “Your Name: Another Side” that follows the same story but from the POV of Mitsuha’s friends and family. It really brings new light to the events and made me very emotional.

Mental Health

Green Lanterns: Rebirth (2018)

Jessica Cruz suffers from PTSD and severer anxiety, seeing her utalising her will power to overcome those problems and harness that energy to help save the universe is so incredibly powerful and moving.

Hawkeye (2012-2015) 4 Volumes

The Fraction/Aja/Wu/Hollingworth Hawkeye run is widely considered one of the best superhero runs of all time. Fraction and Aja perfectly capture “functional depression” at its finest, and we watch as Clint Barton slowly burns all his bridges before being forced by his friends to sort his shit out and put them back together again. There’s also a whole issue that’s primarily written in sign language too.

My Roomate is a Cat Funimation (Dub) Crunchyroll (Sub) 12 eps total

“Mystery author Mikazuki would rather live in total isolation than deal with others. Getting a roommate is the last thing he’d ever do, until a stray cat sparks an idea for his next novel. Please watch the dub. Lexi Marman Cowden, who voices Shoko, is an ACTUAL hard-of-hearing actress. It makes for a more real and vulnerable performance that avoids the mild ableism of the Sub hiring a Hearing Actress and robot-ising her voice.

Yuri’s defeat sends him into a very relatable spiral of lack of self belief that he slowly starts to regain thanks to the help of Viktor. Part sports anime, part love story, all full of feels.

The Dub is considered hit or miss depending on whether you like accents or not, but honestly it’s worth it for Sabat’s Christophe giacometti. Ayame walked, so Christophe could strut.

What if a Japanese animation studio asked DC if they could make a batman movie? And then just threw a Japanese history book at it? What if there was time travel? What if the main batman villains were all feudal lords in Japan? What if everyone were Samari? What if Damian had a small animal companion he could communicate with using a flue? What if Jason’s hood was made out of wicker? What if Penguin had a penguin shaped mecha?

A wild ride from start to finish that makes no sense but really, do you care?
