SYNOPSIS: during your second year of uni you have the misfortune of sharing a class with terushima, a loud and irritating party boy. he’s mouthy, fake, and full of himself, everything your mysterious texting buddy isn’t. but as time goes on and terushima begins expressing new sides to himself never before seen, you wonder if everything is as it seems.

“Hey!” Startled, you turn, heart jumping a little.

“Oh! Hey, Terushima!” You smile at him, holding the door for him. He speeds up slightly, grinning back.

“Thanks. How’ve you been? All caught up?”

“Yep!” Walking next to him, you adjust your bag. “All thanks to your notes, of course.”

“Of course,” he echoes, chuckling. “I’m glad I could help. Aside from that, how have you been?”

“Good, and you?”

“Alright. I’ve been pretty busy. Volleyball is kicking my ass, you know. The season’s in full swing.”

“I can’t imagine being on the volleyball team on stop of school,” you say truthfully. “I know Kuroo and Bo have it pretty hard.”

“Yeah, it’s tough, but I really do enjoy it.” Your steps echo in the quiet hallway, the hushed air making things seem more infantile between the two of you. “You know, I almost didn’t play in college.”

“Really?” you ask, surprised. “How come?”

Terushima shakes his head slightly. “The team I was on in high school wasn’t like Karasuno or Shiratorizowa. We weren’t as good, obviously, and none of us took the game super seriously. But once, we played Kurasuno and passion just lit me up from the inside. Hinata Shoyo, who I’m sure you know, challenged me even if he didn’t know it.”

“I do know him,” you murmur. “That’s crazy. So you just took it seriously after that? Are you here on a sports scholarship?”

“No, just an academic one-“

“Wait,” you say, cutting him off. “An academic scholarship? Don’t you have to be like, super smart for those?”

“What, you don’t think I’m super smart?” Terushima challenged playfully, but you saw a blush rising on his face. His bashfulness did something to you, something you hadn’t expected.

Heart fluttering slightly, you laugh. “No, it’s not that. I was surprised, is all. You seem too laissez-faire to be a big studier. Smart? Yes, but a nerd, no.”

“I’m not sure if that’s a compliment or not!”

Shrugging, you round the corner to your lecture hall. “We’ll, that’s up for you to decide.”

Terushima sticks his tongue out at you and you see he’s replaced the normal metal one with a bar with a gem on the end. You don’t think you should point it out, not when you can’t think of a good reason to notice something like that.

“Oh,” you say suddenly. “I don’t want to keep dredging this up because we’re good and all, but why did you pour your drink on me? You didn’t mention it last time.”

Terushima looks a little pained and you regret bringing it up.

“Sorry, I shouldn’t have-“

“No,” Terushima sighs. “You have a right to know. I’ll tell you, Y/N, I promise. Just give me a little time.”

“Of course,” you agree. “Whatever you need.” What could have been so bad that he doesn’t want to tell you.

“You’re great, seriously.” Terushima smiles at you again, but a lot of the warmth is gone. “Don’t let me avoid it okay, I will tell you.”

The Question

Nishinoya knew you loved this certain band. And he didn’t. AT ALL. HE didn’t have the patience to sit their and watch them sing. He hated sitting still. But he loved you enough to ask you to go to your favorite band’s concert. He wore his jersey and you wore your favorite pair of jeans and a orange crop top.  

You arrive at the place and he asked,”You ready babe?”

“Yeah!” You were very excited for tonight’s concert.

“Then let’s go.” He faced everything you liked/loved with the same enthusiasm he had for volleyball. 

He grabs your hand and leads you inside. You follow him curious as to where you were standing/sitting. He hands your tickets to the man with the scanner. He nods you in. 

Nishinoya walks in with you in tow. You normally sit in the furthest rows from the concert stage but today he is leading you towards the front.

“Noya?”

“Yes, Y/N?” He looks at you with his beautiful sparkling eyes.

“Where are we going?”

“To the front.”

“What! You mean it!”

“Of course, baby girl.”

“Your awesome!”

“I know.”

 He smiles at you knowing tonight was going to be perfect. You smile back and squeeze his hand tighter. His eyes twinkle mischievously.

“What did you do?”

“Nooooothing.” He draws it out, only making you even more suspicious.

You smack him lightly on his shoulder. He just smiles. 

The band leader came out onto the stage and everyone started screaming you included. As the first few beats of the song you recognize it as their most popular song and you whistle loudly. 

“WOOO.”

Noya poked you, “I have to go to the bathroom I will be right back.”

“Already fidgety, Noya? It has barely started!”

“I know. I’ll be back soon.”

As the song ends you look around for Noya but he’s nowhere to be seen. The band leader started speaking again, “Wooo! Wassup people! We have a small interruption please be patient.”

You watch interested in what this interruption is and you see Nishinoya walk onto the stage. “HELLO!” He shouts into the microphone trying it out. “This song is dedicated to the love of my life, Y/N.” And he proceeds to sing the bands best love song. You start crying and laughing. You sing along to his rough voice.  You laugh when he slides onto his knees at the end of the song. He stands up and starts to speak, “Y/N, I love you.” He points at you and a spotlight trains on you. He jumps into the crowd. The crowd cheers. He crowd surfs over to you and lands on his feet. They crowd cheers even louder when he gets down on one knee and looks up at you with those big eyes and wild hair. “Y/N I love you so much and I can’t imagine my life without you. Will you marry me?”

You cry harder and you start to nod. “YES! I WILL MARRY YOU NOYA.” You shout. The crowd starts screaming at you two. He almost looks surprised. 

“Thank you!”

You laugh and respond with, “Your welcome.”
