If The Alcott was on Folklore/Evermore people would’ve eaten it up.
Have I become one of your problems?
Everything that's mine is a landmine.
Did my love aid and abet you?
We moved on WAY too fast from this masterpiece.

putting my prediction on record now that the coming decade is going to see the rise of viral-marketed fancy at-home water filtration systems, driving and driven by a drastic reduction in the quality of U.S. tap water (given that we are in a 'replacement era' where our current infrastructure is reaching the end of its lifespan--but isn't being replaced). also guessing that by the 2030s access to drinkable tap water will be a mainstream class issue, with low-income & unstably housed people increasingly forced to rely on expensive bottled water when they can't afford the up-front cost of at-home filtration--and with this being portrayed in media as a "moral failing" and short-sighted "choice," rather than a basic failure of our political & economic systems. really hope i'm just being alarmist, but plenty of this already happens in other countries, and the U.S. is in a state of decline, so. here's praying this post ages into irrelevance. timestamped April 2023

A crack fic about Lucifer, Vox and Husk making an Alastor Hate Club. And it’s just them once a week bonding over how much they hate Alastor and Husk realizes more and more how he doesn’t actually hate Alastor and is bitter about it, Lucifer randomly trauma dumps about his tragic life, and by each meeting Lucifer and Husk notice how Vox’s sheer hate borderlines on obsession and they share awkward glances every time he starts ranting and shows them his Alastor shrine or something. And when he makes some comments like “Alastor does this and that every day” (some very specific detail about him only a stalker/someone with a long history with Al would know) and the other two are like “how do you know” and he’s like “I just do.”

If I see another “Jason tried to kill Tim in the Titans Tower!!11!!111!!!!” take I’m gonna lose it.
1) He did NOT try to kill Tim. If he had wanted to, he would have.
2) no matter how DC artist draw Jason, don’t forget he’s a 19 y/o fighting a 16 y/o. This is something between an angry teenage fistfight over who has the bigger one and two deeply damaged boys blaming each other for things neither of them are responsible for.
And for the love of god stop demonizing Jason for fighting a younger opponent when that is literally what all of Robin’s opponents do. Yes, every Robin is just a child fighting adults, either put up with the suspense of disbelief, or if you’re gonna extend sympathy to one of the Robins for having been brutalized by an adult, then maybe that should be fucking Jason who was actually killed by the Joker and not “little helpless Timmy”.
You’re doing both characters a disservice by portraying them like that.

Part of me feels like if you enjoy and/or are involved in the fandom of IWTV, knowing how a rather significant part of the show is set in Dubai (a part of the UAE), you should be aware of, and taking action about what's going on in Sudan.
To explain: the UAE has been exploiting Sudan for its resources in gold (mostly), and in many ways actively fueling the war there to get it. Making the UAE a responsible party for the multiple humanitarian crisis happening there; over 6 million displaced peoples, genocidal massacres, extreme sexual violence, etc. - just look into it.
There's been a demand not to travel to the UAE/Dubai for this reason. Luckily, from what I gather they don't film those scenes on location, except for the aerial driving sequence in Season 1 episode 1. This would've also been before the war started in Sudan where this such demand wasn't in place (as far as I'm aware). Which is good for fans as it means enjoyment can just be critical and not reason to turn it off.
Anyway, just something to very much consider.

batjokes is one of those “I don’t like or ship this but I’d be lying if I said I don’t see where it comes from” situations for me. Like the Joker is definitely in love with Bruce I think that’s borderline canon at this point. And at some point Bruce’s insistence on keeping him alive becomes kinda sus

truly nothing more depressing than seeing a blog glorifying self harm in the fight club tag in an unironic way and you click through to see its an anorexic 14 year old :/ i wish i could communicate like... it doesn't make you cool or better, it's not an actual way to control things in your life, i am so so sorry you think this is the sexy answer. but also jesus why do you blog about it

Im so sorry but the L word is absolutely fucking hilarious - none of these women have an ounce of morality between them and yet they're all somehow still loveable characters. Despite the atrocities. And the bad 2000s haircuts. And the deeply questionable fashion choices.

I think what's very fascinating to me is that, along with the resounding denial many have that Rauru is a flawed character in his own right, that a new argument is starting to rise; that the main problem with Ganondorf is that he is coded as a person of color. If he was not a person of color, then people would be less inclined to argue on his behalf, people would not paint Rauru, Sonia, or the concept of Hyrule as anything other than good and righteous, and people would finally be able to fully embrace that Ganondorf is the only person with flaws, evil intent, imperialistic tendencies, and is literally the only problem that Hyrule has. This is because the game tells us this much, but because Ganondorf is coded as a person of color, it is problematic.
