modern klance au where keith becomes a firefighter

and he is FINE. like hes buff and texan and sweet to old women.

lance is a disastrous man living alone with a pain in the ass cat he named kaltenecker who LOOOOVES to sit in trees

so one day kaltenecker is high up in a place lance cant get to right next to a busy road and he calls the fire department to come get his cat

keith comes out gets the cat and looks at lance like dude youre a spry 20-something cant you get your own fucking cat

meanwhile lance is now ass over tit for this buffass firefighter who saved his cat

so he invents reasons to have the firefighters come out and eventually he starts to like bring the firefighters dinner after he figures out keith is usually on night shift

(shiro is the fire battalion chief btw)

3x01: Burning Down The House

okay silly fic ideia but hear me out okok so.

halloween night at the garrison right? so theres a party and obviously lance goes, all dressed up because he takes halloween super seriously (as he should)

lance kisses some masked boy at the party, and, while having a whole Gay Crisis he just. freaks out and introduces himself as taylor. panicking and totally in the Nile about it, lance buries the memories of the night DEEP in his mind and tries very very hard not to think about it.

cue keith, months later stuck in space with lance wondering while he feels so familiar and chalks it up to them maybe going to the same class at the garrison but feeling weird about it.

Then. one day. pidge makes an offhand remark making fun of lance's " call me the taylor 😏" shtick and keith is suddenly reminded of that one time shiro forced him to go and socialize at a halloween party during his garrison years and he kissed a boy who's name was taylor and now suddenly he realizes why lance is so goddamn familiar- (!!!)

shenanigans ensue. (i swear if i find any free time to write this in the next few weeks i will try but. alas im not sure it will happen so im just putting this out there)

Hear me out. Platonic Kidge. Not in a romantic kinda way just in the way that Keith will sit there and listen to Pidge talk about different kinds of tech and how they work and he'll be hella confused but Pidge seems happy talking about it. And maybe he even picks up a thing or two and surprises one of the other paladins when they ask about it. And then Pidge introduces Keith to some of their favourite videogames and once Keith gets the hang of it he actually proves to be quite a challenge to go up against and then they start a game tournament with the rest of the paladins and Keith nearly thrashes everyone except Pidge and everyone's having fun.

do you guys ever get emotional about the fact that someone (a character) is Out There, Somewhere. like it's ok that i don't even know them but it makes me happy to think about the fact that this person's in the same reality as me (again, in this case). Like whether in a kintype situation or a fictive or some combination or whatever. They're Out There and i hope to god happy. maybe they even have friends from the same source and they found each other again. Shout out to You for existing wherever you are
