You don't GET IT mythra was reawakened against her will to a world she no longer knew and had to watch as every single person she once knew was either dead, experimented on, or chaned irrevocably!! She ended up creating bonds only for them to almost be snapped away once she got captured!! She had to watch mikhail and jin die and brighid and aegeon have no memory of her at all!! she saw a decrepit minoth having lived an entire 500 years still immortalizing her and addam as well as he knew !!!! she kept seeing glimmers of hope only for them to be crushed again and again!!!! mikhail is somehow still alive but he hates her and can't even properly talk to her !!!! she had to see the consequences of her creating pyra multiple times !!! she thinks lora died because she wasn't there !!! she thinks haze was preyed on by amalthus because she wasn't there !!!!! gramps and her are the only characters to not be horrified at jin's mercy kill at temperantia !!!! mythra suffered from intense trauma not long after awakening and she hasn't processed any of it and she's still seeing everything she sought to forget !!!! SHE WAS FORCED OUT !!! VANDHAM STILL DIED BEFORE AND SHE COULD HAVE MAYBE AVOIDED IT BUT SHE WAS NOT READY TO FACE THE WORLD AGAIN!!!!! SHE NEEDED TIME SHE DIDN'T HAVE SHE KEPT RETREATING BECAUSE SHE WASN'T READY SHE KEPT PEEKING OUT BECAUSE SHE STILL CRAVED INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS AND THE COMFORT SHE NEVER GOT !!!!! Mythra, pointing to Addam: Is there no way we can get rid of him?
Haze: Not without a cause, Mythra.
Mythra: I have a cause. It is beCAUSE I hate him.
Minoth: Sounds like a good enough cause.

analysis of “flesh eaters” in xbc2
ok so
rex is a perfect fusion between blade and human, something only the aegis can do. i dont really know if rex will get special blade powers in the endgame most likely yes because that would be the cool thing to do but their life forces are 100% connected, even when they’re not near each other. if mythra/pyra died she could transplant her entire core to him, and he would survive without her. perhaps he could use this to bring her back...? maybe. that, also, would be a cool ending.
zeke is... effectively... some sort of heart transplant. we dont know if the death of zeke would mean the death of pandoria, because he hasnt gotten into a situation where he’s nearly died. however pandoria did not get seriously injured when zeke got stabbed by jin, so it’s likely her core would survive even if he died.
nia is kinda like a Worst Case Scenario of both, a full infusion of blade into flesh. while rex and zeke keep their independence and are able to communicate with their blades, nia has completely subsumed the very young host and taken over her body, which was effectively a corpse. it’s unknown if nia shares memories with the original host. i THINK that the body has demonstrated the ability to grow? also i don’t know if “nia” is the name of the dead child, or the blade. could be either as, well, it’s not like all the blades have special names. but what’s interesting about Nia is that the death of her Driver (which the wiki says is that dad?) did not result in herself fading away.
Fan la Norne/Haze is... still a mystery at this chapter of the game. half her core was “stolen” from her, and we know her previous driver is “alive”. her memories were somehow wiped by the Praetor and although her core was destroyed, her body remains. my theory is that either there’s another half of Haze running around or her core has been at some point infused with her original driver.... though it’s unlikely Jin would take that risk of killing her if that was the case. it’s still likely, too, that Jin’s core is fused with that driver in some way.
judging from how Nia and Fan have not dissipated, I estimate that if a Core is tied to the life of another being and that being is still alive then the body will not disappear.
it’s ambiguous whether all “flesh eaters” are attached directly to human hosts, or if they are merged with human cells. since the Torna blades are flesh eaters it’s unknown if they are technically their own masters, like how nia seems to be hers. people can trade off blades - for example pyra and nia can both be used by rex even though he didn’t technically “awaken” him, and the praetor could probably ‘use’ fan. there was the one flesh eater who “belonged” to the praetor. he aged like a human, and lost his immortality. but the other flesh eaters don’t seem to have this issue? while it’s ambiguous whether nia is aging (possibly???) the rest of Torna don’t seem fazed by this possibility. and who awakened them all? why do they follow Jin? are they possessing humans? did he create them, or are they all experiments of the Praetorium?
also why is the Praetorium crafting flesh eaters, and then destroying any of them that other people make in some kind of witch hunt? yeesh talk about inconsistent.
