Glass Onion Spoilers - Foreshadowing and Among Us

I’ve seen a few posts dunking on glass onion for being “cringe” because of the Among Us scene and a few praising it for accurately reflecting the fact that this is all everyone was playing in 2020, but I haven’t seen anyone really talk about how brilliantly Among Us works as a foreshadowing/storytelling device.

On the surface - as the film itself points out! - the game is a neat little parallel of the island: one murderer hidden among us, with the objective being to find them out. But this comparison goes far deeper than the basic premise of the film.

Firstly, Benoit appears as the game’s imposter, and then, it is later revealed, is literally an imposter, arriving on the island uninvited under false pretences - one of the first major twists of the film spelled out to the audience in the opening act. And he isn’t alone - just as two imposters generally work together to deceive the other players, so Benoit and Helen work together to infiltrate the group. BUT, and this is the bit that really drives me wild, the endgame format of Among Us perfectly reflects the endgame of the film. The way to win Among Us isn’t necessarily a case of killing everyone or surviving every round - the way to win is by convincing your fellow players to believe you, and to vote accordingly.

During the trial Andi loses because the imposter - the billionaire impersonating a genius - convinces the other players that she should be voted out; she is as effectively thrown out of the airlock as she is the business, and then literally killed to protect the [fortune of] the “crew.”

But, Andi was not the imposter, and so the game continues.

The imposter kills again, and when Miles confesses to causing the lights to go out, this is another excellent hint - only the imposter can sabotage the lights!

Then, with all the characters assembled much like an “Emergency Meeting,” we reach the climax of the film: Miles burns the napkin evidence, and immediately the ensemble is back to the voting booth as Helen, like her sister, fights for the players’ support in voting out the imposter. Any Among Us player will recognise the infuriating feeling when you literally just saw them vent for the love of god you were all there vote them OFF- and that frustration - of speaking the truth and not being believed - is evident in this scene.

But these players don’t care about the truth; they care about surviving (ie staying rich), and so they will vote off an innocent person to placate the shark. Which is absolutely not how you win the game.

Then, then, the game’s final round: the imposter has lost his tools, is revealed for the useless fraud he is, and it’s when he has nothing left to offer the other players that one more vote is held - the characters literally raise their hands as they pledge their support to Helen, in part to give the appearance of swearing in upon the witness stand, but also in part to give the visual of a literal vote... such as that of an Among Us emergency meeting vote.

And it’s when Miles is finally, rightfully ejected that at last, the game is won.

Among Us is a game of social engineering, of lying and convincing others of your lies to prolong your survival, deception, and the malleability of truth. Presenting this game in the opening of the film is more than a gimmick or scene-setter: it illustrates the social structures at the heart of the story.

TLDR: Among Us foreshadows the film’s premise, but also plot twists, character choices, and significantly the film’s resolution by way of group vote.

an: hi! this is my first post here, i originally posted this on insta years ago but i recently shut that account down and didn't want these writings to disappear. i have a couple more older writings to post here and a few ideas of more things to write, so i'll see you all later!

After finishing setting up your stream, you messaged your friends letting them know you were about to log in. You were a pretty popular Twitch streamer with fan from all across the world. Before going live, you quickly texted your boyfriend Jeno telling him not to interrupt you during your livestream. You and Jeno have been dating for 8 months but have decided to keep your relationship private since you were both in the public eye. You didn't mind keeping it a secret and actually preferred it to be. You liked your privacy and keeping your personal life separate from your online persona. Jeno was staying at your apartment this weekend since he had some time off and it had been a long time since you both spent time together. You sat perfectly in frame with your bookshelf and bedroom door behind you. After starting the livestream you greeted everyone while waiting for the view count to go up. "Hi everyone! Welcome in. Today we're gonna be playing some Among Us with a few friends."

The stream was going great, you were interacting with the chat and even reached a new record of 60k viewers. This round you were the imposter and you were trying to come up with a strategy to win. You followed the other crewmates around, faking tasks and trying to blend in when suddenly your bedroom door swings open and you hear a familiar voice. "Baby I'm home. I missed you so much." Startled by the voice, you jumped in your seat and accidentally vented in front of everyone. "Aahhh! Jeno get out, I'm live right now."

"I'm sorry. I didn't know"

" I texted you earlier. Did you not see it?"

He looked down at his phone and saw one unread message from you. "Oops" he said laughing nervously and scratching the back of his head. Your eyes filled with fear knowing that over 60 thousand people saw what just happened. The chat immediately started asking questions like,

"Is that your boyfriend?"

"JENO???"

"OMFG y/n are you dating Jeno?"

Fans quickly turned to Twitter and started sharing video clips of what just happened. The news spread like wildfire and soon became a trending topic. Surprisingly the response from fans was extremely positive and people were happy for the both of you. Clearly embarrassed, you hid your face and started to sink down into your chair. Jeno made his way over to you and placed a soft kiss on your cheek. "It's alright baby. Now that the news is out I can finally show the world how much I love you."

“Don’t embarrass me tonight. They said they’re watching this stream,” he grumbles, stifling his emotions as he busies himself with decorating his character, “Also, it’s none of your goddamn business.”

“Everyone here?” Tighnari calls out. They were all streaming from their respective rooms in the house.

“Guys, should I leave the cheese hat on or not?” Childe asks instead of answering, his voice in Scara’s ear as he ran around the lobby.

“Just start it,” Heizou says, and Scara could hear the smug grin on his face, “You guys are going to lose anyway.”

“Play nice, Heizou,” Kazuha reprimands as the game starts to load.

“You know he’s ruthless,” Star answers, and Scara gets a tight feeling in his stomach. It’s been a year since he’s heard Star’s voice properly, but instead of how it usually unsettled him it felt oddly familiar. Perhaps he was tired.

“Shut up,” Scara remarks, ridding himself of those thoughts.

“Make me,” Star easily responds, which makes Scara pause and everyone else crack up.

“The fuck,” he mutters, “Y/N isn’t going to like that.”

“Get ready to listen to them fight the entire game,” Venti sings.

“Everyone mute until voting,” Tighnari instructs as the game loads.

“I swear to the archons if I’m imposters with Childe again I’m killing myself,” Scara complains as he mutes himself from the main chat, knowing Childe would start defending himself if he heard Scara’s comment, “He’s always been shit at lying. One time he ate the cake I baked for Y/N and lied to me about it with frosting smeared on his cheeks.”

The screen on his computer loads and instantly his chat is flooded with laughter as he and Star’s characters appear under the screen as the imposters for that round.

“I take it back, I’d rather have Childe,” he mutters, joining a private call with Star.

“Hey partner,” Star calls out, laughing in his ear. It tickled his nerves.

“Shut up,” he says on instinct, “Do not be the cause of my first loss.”

“Wouldn’t dream of it,” Star chuckles as they load in, “Who should we kill first?”

Scara trails behind Venti in the game, “Wait until two of them are together so we can double kill,” he offers, pretending to do tasks beside the blue character.

“I think Heizou saw me vent,” Star confesses.

“It’s been two minutes why are you this dumb?” Scara sighs as a meeting is called as expected and they all join the main chat.

Much to his surprise, Star defends themself with ease.

“I’m pretty sure Heizou vented in front of me,” Star falsely accuses, “I can’t be for sure though but he got there pretty quickly when my back was turned.”

“YOU BITCH!” Heizou yells into the mic, “You know damn well—”

“Babe,” Kazuha hums, “Deep breaths.”

“The fucking audacity,” he continues, “You’re the one who vented right in front of me!”

“Let’s just end the meeting, Heizou is trying too hard,” Scara interrupts.

“If this happens again we should vote out Heizou,” Tighnari says as the game resumes.

“I hate you all,” Heizou huffs as they all go on mute once again.

“I’m going to kill Venti,” Star says in his ear.

“Why don’t we sabotage first and double kill?”

“But he’s literally right in front of me, I’ll let Heizou find the body,” Star adds.

“Alright,” Scara muses, tailing behind Heizou, “I’ll do tasks with him.”

He follows Heizou into the Medbay, where as expected, was Venti’s dead body.

They both join the main call and are immediately hit with accusations. None against them though.

“WHO KILLED MY VENTI,” Aether cried out.

“It can’t be Scara since he was with me,” Heizou thinks out loud, “Childe has been real silent.”

“That’s because I cannot figure out how to do shit in this game,” his best friend whines, “I would never kill Venti.”

“Can anyone back up Heizou’s location?” Star questions.

“He wasn’t with me, he’s lying,” Scara answers, his lie garnering a gasp from Heizou.

“I swear to the archons above if you guys believe him,” Heizou starts, getting riled up.

“I’m with Scara on this one,” Tighnari hums.

“No, don’t do this. Kazuha please,” Heizou wails, “You guys are making a mistake!”

“I’ll vote for Childe,” Kazuha softly laughs, not able to rid of his fondness for the other male even during a game.

“Simp,” Aether comments, “I’ll avenge you Venti.”

They all place their votes, and apart from Heizou and Kazuha, it’s unanimous.

Heizou gets voted out.

“Why did we slay that,” Star comments, their giggles ringing in his ear once the two of them are back into their private call. He shakes the light feeling that it fills him with. Absurd.

“I’ll admit we worked well together,” Scara hums, distracting himself from having Star directly in his ear by walking around the game’s floor plan.

“Why can’t you just admit we make a good pair?” Star asks, taunting him and following behind him.

“We don’t,” he sighs.

“We would make a great pair!”

“Mute yourself I’m sick of your voice,” he grumbles.

“You’re in your denial stage.”

“Enough, Y/N is watching.”

“You talk about them often,” Star muses.

“Jealous of my love life?” Scara smirks as they pull off a sabotage.

“Nothing to be jealous of,” Star huffs.

“You’re not slick.”

“I just think me and you fit better.”

“Is that the hill you want to die on? Because I can make that happen.”

“I’d like to see you try,” Star retaliates as they both walk into a room with Aether and Childe in it. Aether doing his tasks and Childe attempting to.

Words go unsaid as they silently agree to go through with a double kill, easily slicing their friends. A discussion wasn’t needed to know they should self-report. They worked too well together, it made his stomach churn.

“I literally saw Kazuha go in for the kill,” Star says as soon as the call loads, “I’m betting it’s him.”

“How could you accuse me of such a thing?” Kazuha muses and Scara can hear the smirk on his lips, “It was obviously you.”

“Well, there were two bodies so it’s Kazuha and someone else,” Tighnari comments.

“Unless he killed one then let the cooldown run and killed the other after,” Star thinks aloud, “We all know Childe still doesn’t know how the game works.”

“See, now you’re thinking too highly of me,” Kazuha laughs, “I can’t pull that off.”

“You didn’t because we’re going to vote you off,” Scara replies.

“Guys,” Kazuha starts, and it’s like Scaramouche can hear his pout, “This isn’t fair!”

“Life isn’t fair,” Tighnari says as he puts his vote in.

The victory screen loads in and Star cheers in his ear.

“We did pretty well, didn’t we?” Star asks, eager for his approval.

“I guess we did, good job,” he muses, hoping Y/N stayed until the end to see him annihilate the others.

“Scara complimenting me?” Star sarcastically gasps, “A dream come true.”

“It’s more of a nightmare.”

“Are you insinuating you think of me while you sleep?” Star says, their voice in a low murmur in his ear. Scara finds himself swallowing and his cheeks growing warm.

“Stop being a perv,” he manages to croak out, joining the main call so he wouldn’t have to be stuck alone with Star for longer than he had to. He wasn’t flustered, just annoyed.

“I TOLD YOU GUYS,” Heizou shrieks as soon as everyone loads into the main voice call.

“I believed you,” Kazuha answers, a soft laugh escaping his lips.

“I’m so sorry, Venti,” Aether calls out, “I couldn’t avenge you bestie.”

“It’s alright, you served well,” Venti solemnly says.

“Can we go again I think I figured out the controls this time,” Childe ponders.

“I’m killing myself for getting duped by the duo who despise one another,” Tighnari sulks.

Scaramouche tunes them out as he gives his attention to his chat, which consists of them all complimenting his and Star’s skills. He tears his eyes away from it, calling back on all the out-of-character comments they made throughout the stream.

In response he opens up a new tab and pulls up Star’s stream, listening to how they were praising his skills. He hastily exits it.

“Let’s do another round,” Aether huffs, determined as a new game loads in.

Scaramouche exits his zoned-out state and gets back into his streamer personality, masking the incoming fleet of emotions.

He couldn’t help but steal a glance at his phone every now and then, expecting a certain someone to get his mind off everything.

HEESEUNG, the only person who would probably trusted you besides jake. though at times he can't help but be suspicious of you. the one who follows you to make sure you aren't doing anything suspicious. when he sees you venting he races to the button. he probably was thinking you didn't see him but you did. you killed him before he could press the button. for the rest of the round, he haunted you throughout the remainder. he didn't bother to speak to you even after you guys finished playing among us not that you cared because you did what you had to do.

JAY, a bitter bitch. you told him that he would be the first person you killed but did he listen? no of course he didn't. now he is sulking and talking shit about you under his breath. the type to make you get caught when you're killing someone. the type of person to try to get you back but fails endlessly. tried to kill you in electrical but ended up killing jake which you instantly reported. in the end he claimed he didn't want to play anyway which you started laughing at.

JAKE, now jake is the one who trusted you out of everyone else. stuck by your side throughout most of the rounds. it made him an easy target for you. especially since you didn't have to chase anyone else around. you killed him in navigation and just stood there for a moment feeling guilty that you had killed him out of everyone. the way he didn't hesitate to leave you on your own the next round made you realize that next time not to kill jake.

SUNGHOON, now sunghoon didn't want to play the game at all until you asked him to. let me just say this boy right here was suspicious of you from the moment you smiled at your phone screen. though he knew you were the imposter he just didn't think you would kill him. you did after the lights were cut off. to be fair you had been acting weird making your character wiggle on the screen and were following him around a lot. so when you killed him he looked at you and narrowed his eyes before leaving the game altogether.

SUNOO, you betraying sunoo is like asking a hellfire to rain upon you. both you and sunoo were the imposters. sunoo thought of himself as the ultimate imposter who couldn't get caught while you were doing ok. the moment of truth came when Heeseung had reported a body claiming he saw someone but couldn't see who it was. that's when everyone was claiming to be nowhere near the scene so you did what you had to do. you called out sunoo who you claimed to see come from that direction before the button was called. everyone didn't hesitate to vote for the boy who told you that he would get you back which scared you. it surprised you that everyone voted him out especially since you had killed the person not sunoo.

JUNGWON, jungwon was just trying to have fun playing the game while you were plotting his demise. it's the fact that you killed him even when he knew that you were the imposter and promised to keep your secret safe. it was the biggest betrayal of the century. for the rest of the rounds, jungwon tried to get you voted out no matter if you were the imposter or not. he just wanted you to feel the way he felt when you killed him.

NIKI, the one person you would regret killing in the end. in the beginning, you knew who you were set on killing and that just so happened to be mr. nishimura riki. the poor boy didn't know what was coming to him. you made sure to kill him in medbay when he was doing his scan which made you smile but if only you knew the boy wasn't going to stand for that. after you got voted off for killing sunghoon you apologized to niki only to not get a reply. for the next round, you were a normal crewmate doing your tasks when niki had killed you which just continued happening every round niki was an imposter. now you knew never to kill niki because he could show you how much he could hold a grudge.

As a crew mate: Him and jack are teaming together to get yujiro out as they should he does his task but the moment someone comes inside the same room he’s in he’s running out. Try’s to lie and get his dad out. Ends up getting him out and is bouncing on the walls.

As a imposter: Top 3 of best imposters he’s coming for his dad as he locks him in a room together and kills him he probably blames it on pickle very good at faking task. But his own brother rats him out and he gets voted out.

Jack

As a crew mate: Chases people for fun and loses it whenever he gets voted out. Chases his dad the whole time and watches him do every task ends up ratting out his own brother on purpose. He ends up finding pickle and they chase each other through the whole cafeteria.

As a Imposter: He’s coming for Pickle he doesn’t try to fake any task he’s on the hunt for his prey. Poor pickle doesn’t know what to do do he just runs or just stands there and get killed. Ends up killing baki and his dad and blames on rat man.

Retsu

As a crew mate: Stays in the security watching everybody doing their tasks. He’s paying attention to rat man mostly. Once he sees someone getting killed he’s running the that emergency button and writes a whole statement how he saw that person killing someone else.

As a imposter: He doesn’t want to kill anybody and ends up telling that he’s the imposter because he feels bad and gets voted out the moment he says tells them. He’s coming for rat man though.

Pickle

As a crew mate: Literally an Npc he tries to do the task but only does the downloading ones because he doesn’t understand the rest. Too busy getting chased by Jack. He’s always getting accused of being the imposter because he follows people around.

As a imposter: Vents around the whole crew and gets voted outed not even a minute in the game. Also kills in front of people and growls when he gets out. Coming for Jack though.

Katou (Rat man)

As a crew mate: Gets voted out for a murder he didn’t even do. Everyone stays away from him expect pickle because he’s a Npc..He can’t even do his tasks without getting accused for a murder that was in different room than him. Cuss out everyone but nobody understands because it’s like this “WJHAT THE FJCK I DIDNT EVNE KILL HIM” Last for 2 minutes until he gets voted

As a imposter: Coming for retsu because he always gets caught venting by him. Doesn’t even hesitate heading to the security room to kill Retsu then blame it on Yujiro and surprisingly everyone believes him until they realize it wasn’t him and the tables turn.

Yujiro

As a crew mate: Always getting voted out and is ready to go to war the moment he gets accused. Nobody likes him and they all distance away from him because all the trouble happens when he’s around. Finishes his task and makes sure his sons are doing what there suppose to do.

As a imposter: Is coming for everyone and is apart of the Top 3. But of course Retsu catches him and gets caught but overall he’s real sneaky and blame it’s on rat man or his sons.

Hey ^^. How do you think Kaveh would react if he saw one of his friends on the same trail of thinking as him: imposter syndrome and nothing they do is good enough?

He fully understands the way that his friend feels. He hears them out and just wants to let them vent at first, knowing that just getting the negative thoughts out will make the friend feel better at first. Even if there's no real solution just talking to someone who fully understands is better than being forced to just deal with it alone.

He's very good at reminding people of their strengths and that even if you have imposter syndrome the things you've created still exist regardless of how you feel. He won't force you to feel like you have to get out of this funk but he is here to support you and tell you that you're incredibly skilled and have worked hard to get where you are despite what you think of yourself.

>Arguing all the Time

Neither of you are quite sure when your little enemies thing began, but it was still going strong. That meant that literally anytime you were in a VC together, it was just arguing.

Today he was doing a calmer stream, mining while chilling in an empty call. Obviously you existed to ruin his day, so you hopped in and started causing some chaos.

"What the fuck are you doing here?" He had immediately groaned, giving his camera an annoyed look.

"Wow, I didn't realize you missed me so much!" You responded quickly. His retort is quick too, probably because you do this every day. "You're delusional."

The bantering continues for hours, tone changing from annoyance to more of a teasing one before settling into the familiar anger. It wasn't serious anger, but it was definitely more aggressive than teasing or annoyance.

"Oh my God- Just fuck off already!" He exclaims, throwing his hands into the air wildly. You laugh, shaking your head although he can't see it. "No thanks."

"Fuck you. Fuck you. Fuck you." "You wish. I have better standards though."

Even if there's someone else in the call, it still manages to become an argument. You've been banned from playing Among Us together for that exact reason.

"Wha- I'm telling you guys, it wasn't me!" Tommy exclaims, making you smirk. "No, no, he did it! I saw it!" "What the fuck?! I saw you hop into the vent!" The worst part about it all was that you both knew damn well neither of you were the imposters.

It’s funny. For how much you “dislike” each other, you sure talk about each other A LOT.

Your friends literally know everything about him. He was active in discord? They know. He argued with you over Coke off-stream? They know.

And it’s the exact same for him. Wilbur actually thinks the whole enemy thing is hilarious, but he’s sick and tired of hearing Tommy talk about you.

”Wil, you won’t fucking believe this.” Tommy fumes, staring at Wilbur through his computer. Wilbur sighs, crossing his arms. “If it’s about-" “WHO ELSE WOULD IT BE ABOUT?!”

“I will literally pay you if you don’t talk about your stupid little rivalry today.” Wilbur begs. “It’s not a stupid little rivalry!”

Phil, as patient as he is, just mutes you guys if you ever start talking about each other with him.

”Oh, Phil, that reminds me, Tommy-“ you start, and he immediately reaches forward and mutes you. “Chat, trust me, this is better for all of us.”

You ruined your chances with a guy once because of how much you talked about Tommy which was embarrassing.

Tommy also turned down someone because of you, which he didn’t even mean to do. You just occupy his mind way too much.

”Are you doing anything tonight? Maybe we could catch a movie?” The person asks, and Tommy opens his mouth to accept. “Sorry, I’m doing something tonight.”

He didn’t have a stream planned, so he isn’t quite sure why he said that. Or at least he wasn’t until you streamed that night and he realized he turned the person down because he knew you’d be streaming.

>Secretly Loving to Spend Time Together

The first time Tommy asked you to be in his vlog, you very nearly said no. But after careful consideration, you realized how much fun it would be to fuck with him in real life.

From there he just kept inviting you to the vlogs and you kept coming, both using the excuse of good content.

Really though, he just liked spending time with you in person. Something about being able to see his jests land made it more fun than anything else.

On the other hand, you just kept telling yourself that you were only in it for the content. No fun involved. In fact, you hated him. Mhm. Definitely. Or at least you tried telling yourself that until a friend tried to get you to cancel on him.

"Come on, you'll have way more fun with me anyways. Aren't you always going on about how you hate him?" They laugh. "Well, yeah, but this was scheduled ages in advance." "So? Just tell him you're out. That'll be a good one, really fuck up his plans."

You were surprised to realize you hated the idea of canceling, and for more reasons than one. Firstly, it was a dick move. Even if you did hate him (which you weren't so sure about anymore...) it would ruin the entire vlog and throw off his entire schedule. Secondly, you wanted to film with him.

"No. I can't. Maybe another time."

Your friend just stared at you before a smile grew on their face. "And you still say you hate him."

Tommy goes through the same thing with Wilbur too.

"I can't wait for tomorrow's vlog!" He exclaimed, grinning wildly. "Thought you'd be dreading it because your mortal enemy is there." Wilbur responds with obvious sarcasm. "If anything, I'm more excited! It's gonna be epic!"

Wilbur pauses, looking at Tommy. "Are sure you guys are still enemies?"

>The Realization

Tommy realizes first, because Wilbur knew all along how it would end. Really though, Tommy kind of knows the second he sees you in person because he just can't keep his eyes off you that entire vlog.

"Tommy, come on. Still with the enemy thing?" Wilbur asks. "I thought-" "What? You thought what? Of course we're enemies! We hate each other!" Tommy laughs, but it's entirely fake. Because he isn't quite sure he really does hate you.

"Do you?" Wilbur presses, putting voice to his thoughts. "Or are you just scared of things changing?" Tommy sputters, trying and failing to protest. After a second he just falls silent, thinking about it. "I don't know." He finally says. "Well I do." Wilbur announces. "You do?" "Yeah! You two are so obviously helplessly in love, please for the love of God just fucking kiss!"

"...you think so?"

You don't have Wilbur to help you, so it takes a bit longer, but you end up figuring it out yourself when you catch yourself watching a stream. Not joining, or sending a rude chat message, just laughing at his jokes as a viewer.

From then on, you can't help but notice arguments taking a flirtier turn, which is only egged on by Wilbur.

That doesn't mean you two immediately talk about it though, it's literally the opposite. It's five months before either of you realize you're both hopelessly in love and just pretending to hate each other.

Now that's an awkward conversation...

Sorry just came here to vent… to this day I still see people doubting that both Hannibal and Will survived the fall??!! Like?? Seriously? Did you even watch the show?

it really pisses me off when people go “who survived the fall?” or “I don’t think they both survived it, I think only Hannibal did”… like did they not watch the scene where Bedelia is sat at a dining table with her freshly and extravagantly cooked leg in front of her and besides her chair there’s 2 other chairs??? 3 people at the dining table, 1 is Bedelia, the other 2 can they guess??? Who are the 2 people who hate her most in the world? And wanted/swore revenge???

Also if you only go on a practical level, it’s canon that Will is not the fancy cook, Hannibal is, and Bedelia’s leg looks very fancifully cooked so we know it wasn’t Will, so it had to be Hannibal to amputate and prepare it, right? Him being the doctor and chef and all… and Hannibal had the most serious wounds of both, so if he survived, obviously, Will survived too.

Idk why so many people still doubt that they both survived the fall, it’s dumb

I always welcome rants :D And yes, I think 'Hannibal' is the most misunderstood show ever. It concerns everything, from Will's characterization to Hannibal's feelings, Bedelia, Alana's actions, and of course the ending.

The beauty of S3 finale is that every person can imagine their own perfect version of "what's next." If someone wants to think Will and/or Hannibal are dead, that's absolutely fine. The post-credit scene can be ignored. But when people genuinely doubt that the original intention was for them to live? When they think Bedelia cooked her own leg? I don't get it.

Never mind that Bryan, Mads and Hugh confirmed the fact of their survival repeatedly. The most obvious and glaring thing is that S3 was never supposed to be an ending. The show was cancelled as it was airing - specifically, after E3, meaning that TWOTL was already shot. Will and Hannibal were always going to Fall and they were always going to live because there would be no S4 without one or both protagonists.

Then there is the scene with Bedelia itself. Apart from what you mentioned (three places, an extravagant meal), there are also other things. Will threatens Bedelia with being eaten in this very episode - and this is how this episode ends. Bedelia is drugged and she's hiding a fork to attack her hosts. She doesn't want to be there, she's ready to still try to defend herself, so why would she cut off her own leg? 

People often suggest that she did it because she hoped this would appease Hannibal, but again, it doesn't make sense. I agree she might cooperate if caught, trying to surprise them and take them aback with her compliance. However, it would be delusional if Will and Hannibal were truly dead and yet she did something like this. Even a phone call from Hannibal himself wouldn't make her do this if she had enough time to run - and considering how long amputation and cooking this dish take, she'd have it.

Hannibal cooks like this; Hannibal wanted to eat Bedelia; Will threatened Bedelia with being eaten; she's being eaten now and there are two extra places at the table. The fork indicates she's not there willingly. So who could have done it? I think the answer is beyond clear.  

There is also a symbolic meaning to this specific dish. Hannibal ate Gideon, who he saw as an imposter, like this. Now Will has a chance to do the same.

You got me thinking about the mecha in Among Us again so I wholeheartedly believe Soundwave will hit sabotage so much that they'll just start assuming he's the imposter every round there is a sabotage (which will lead to many times where they eject crewmate Soundwave)

Megatron will struggle with the keycard way too much and it will be hilarious.

Raf was imposter one round and absolutely pulled a markiplier move where he managed to convince them he was crew even though he was exactly seen killing someone.

Optimus lost a round early on by asking "Why is my username red?", but after that he became one of the better ones at imposter because who would suspect oppy?

I saw One comic about megs dying and Starscream getting so loud on mic they voted to airlock him and I've just gotta say that's happened yes yes yes.

Jack is surprisingly really good at the twisty turny dial minigame i hate so much.

Shockwave plays the detective person of the crew fairly well, this is tbh what I used to do as crew.

Bumblebee as an imposter hides in the vents constantly and jumpscares mecha.

Arcee sabotages a lot as imposter too but only started doing it after Soundwave gained his rep, so they don't typically assume it's her doing it.

Bulkhead sticks with the buddy system and always follows around other crewmates... even as imposter, which occasionally means free alibis

One time the stars aligned and Breakdown and Knockout were both imposters at the same time. They did pretty good, but once one was caught so was the other.
