EDIT: please see @cliffsideview's replies for more info! Tragically it is sounding more probable that it was a suicide spurred by a long period of bullying. Every person who participated, every teacher who stood by, every legislator who is a proponent of the anti-trans bills – every one of them is complicit in Nex's death. Ryan Walters specifically has blood on his hands.

They're ruling Nex Benedict's death a suicide. Death due to "combined toxicity" of fluoxetine (Prozac) and diphenhydramine (benadryl). Let's explore this.

Fluoxetine is known to cause seizures at very high dosages but rarely causes death. In one case study, 1.4 grams of Prozac likely caused a seizure but not death in an adult woman. "A dose as low as 520 mg of fluoxetine has been associated with a lethal outcome, but there’s record of someone taking 8 grams of fluoxetine and recovering," according to Healthline. ("Associated with" does not necessarily mean the sole cause!) Diphenhydramine overdose has been known to cause death at doses of 20mg/kg or greater; in the USA in 2017, it was involved (but not necessarily the sole factor) in 3% of OD deaths according to the CDC. I've no clue how much Nex weighed but I based my math on a 100lb person. A lethal dose of diphenhydramine at that weight would have been approx 900mg. There is no known lethal dose of fluoxetine for humans. It can vary greatly but is generally safe and generally requires very large doses to cause seizures let alone death. There are no known serious drug interactions between these two drugs.

But let's say there is some interaction at unusually high doses that I don't know about because this is an extremely unusual combination for a suicide attempt. We know that Benadryl is much easier to OD on than Prozac is. So let's pull some numbers out of our asses and say 750mg of diphenhydramine plus 3g of fluoxetine equals lethal dose for a 100lb teenager.

The typical upper range of fluoxetine dosage is 80mg/day. If we assume that Nex was taking 100mg of fluoxetine/day and he had access to a full 30 day supply, that's 3 grams. Add confounding head trauma and diphenhydramine toxicity and...maybe???

But we're talking about someone downing a full or nearly full 30 day supply of high doses of fluoxetine AND about 30 tablets of Benadryl. And there were no signs until he entered the living room and collapsed? Fluoxetine toxicity can cause rapid heartbeat, irritability, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, etc. Diphenhydramine toxicity can cause confusion, irregular heartbeat, agitation, nausea, vomiting, etc. This combo seems like a very uncomfortable and unpleasant way to go and I'm meant to believe he was quiet, not vomiting, not agitated, not terrified – just walked into the living room and collapsed? Unless he was exhibiting those symptoms and Sue didn't say anything about it which doesn't add up either. She said Nex went to bed with a headache and we have audio of the 911 call. She mentions their eyes rolling back and their hands "posturing" (both those things could be related to brain damage or a seizure).

With the added complication of head trauma (blacking out due to head injury = concussion = brain injury), I guess death is feasible but this just doesn't feel right. I don't know. Maybe it was a perfect storm of circumstances but those two drugs are so hard to OD on, not to mention unpleasant to OD on, and this state is so hostile to trans people it's hard not to approach this with a TON of skepticism.

I hope the Benedict family had their own toxicology and autopsy done.

ETA: for the record, im not saying I agree with the suicide decision, I'm saying "I mean I guess technically it's possible but it seems highly unlikely and incredibly sus and I am not convinced"

1938 Mercedes-Benz W154

In September 1936, the AIACR (Association Internationale des Automobile Clubs Reconnus), the governing body of motor racing, set the new Grand Prix regulations effective from 1938. Key stipulations included a maximum engine displacement of three liters for supercharged engines and 4.5 liters for naturally aspirated engines, with a minimum car weight ranging from 400 to 850 kilograms, depending on engine size.

By the end of the 1937 season, Mercedes-Benz engineers were already hard at work developing the new W154, exploring various ideas, including a naturally aspirated engine with a W24 configuration, a rear-mounted engine, direct fuel injection, and fully streamlined bodies. Ultimately, due to heat management considerations, they opted for an in-house developed 60-degree V12 engine designed by Albert Heess. This engine mirrored the displacement characteristics of the 1924 supercharged two-liter M 2 L 8 engine, with each of its 12 cylinders displacing 250 cc. Using glycol as a coolant allowed temperatures to reach up to 125°C. The engine featured four overhead camshafts operating 48 valves via forked rocker arms, with three cylinders combined under welded coolant jackets, and non-removable heads. It had a high-capacity lubrication system, circulating 100 liters of oil per minute, and initially utilized two single-stage superchargers, later replaced by a more efficient two-stage supercharger in 1939.

The first prototype engine ran on the test bench in January 1938, and by February 7, it had achieved a nearly trouble-free test run, producing 427 hp (314 kW) at 8,000 rpm. During the first half of the season, drivers such as Caracciola, Lang, von Brauchitsch, and Seaman had access to 430 hp (316 kW), which later increased to over 468 hp (344 kW). At the Reims circuit, Hermann Lang's W154 was equipped with the most powerful version, delivering 474 hp (349 kW) and reaching 283 km/h (176 mph) on the straights. Notably, the W154 was the first Mercedes-Benz racing car to feature a five-speed gearbox.

Max Wagner, tasked with designing the suspension, had an easier job than his counterparts working on the engine. He retained much of the advanced chassis architecture from the previous year's W125 but enhanced the torsional rigidity of the frame by 30 percent. The V12 engine was mounted low and at an angle, with the carburetor air intakes extending through the expanded radiator grille.

The driver sat to the right of the propeller shaft, and the W154's sleek body sat close to the ground, lower than the tops of its tires. This design gave the car a dynamic appearance and a low center of gravity. Both Manfred von Brauchitsch and Richard Seaman, whose technical insights were highly valued by Chief Engineer Rudolf Uhlenhaut, praised the car's excellent handling.

The W154 became the most successful Silver Arrow of its era. Rudolf Caracciola secured the 1938 European Championship title (as the World Championship did not yet exist), and the W154 won three of the four Grand Prix races that counted towards the championship.

To ensure proper weight distribution, a saddle tank was installed above the driver's legs. In 1939, the addition of a two-stage supercharger boosted the V12 engine, now named the M163, to 483 hp (355 kW) at 7,800 rpm. Despite the AIACR's efforts to curb the speed of Grand Prix cars, the new three-liter formula cars matched the lap times of the 1937 750-kg formula cars, demonstrating that their attempt was largely unsuccessful. Over the winter of 1938-39, the W154 saw several refinements, including a higher cowl line around the cockpit for improved driver safety and a small, streamlined instrument panel mounted to the saddle tank. As per Uhlenhaut’s philosophy, only essential information was displayed, centered around a large tachometer flanked by water and oil temperature gauges, ensuring the driver wasn't overwhelmed by unnecessary data.

We already saw the pattern with JK, but is it possible that JM is joining in on the it? I guess we'll just have to wait and see, won't we?

I won't be talking about every single thing that came up in JM's 1 hr. and 20 min. live. What I will do is touch on a few of the interesting things that happened during the live (well, what I found interesting at least), and what followed the live as well. Because JM didn't just show and dip. He wanted to take up home in his pocket, although he did think that over 7 million at his place might be too much, maybe if it was half of that it would be ok, lol. But we know JM, for reals, he wouldn't do a live at home, so he did the second best thing, which was to come back to us with posts and comments on Weverse.

Anyways, what did we have in the live?

JM talked about the 10 year anniversary a bit. Telling us he's not really that excited, but the biggest emotion he's feeling is fun. I get the not feeling excited. He also explains why. I'm happy that he felt it fun, I can't help but think that it was a bit of a bitter sweet celebration for them. He touched, not touched on it, when he mentioned the two members in the army at the moment.

JM tells us what he's up to lately, his daily schedule, more or less.

He's asked if he's working on a song, and JM like JM answers this:

He later gives us a little more detail: he's been working out and eating healthy and working on some music and living well. Once a week he allows himself to rest.

The question I ask is if JK allows him to rest too? Lol, nah. I guess that's the day they take off to visit Bammie. Ehm... we do have the scratch to prove it...

Jokes aside, JM talks about how it's good for him to have a set schedule and be at work. For him and JK both (that's me talking not JM). And seeing that RM kind of spilled the tea, we can guess that the workouts are probably, at least some of the time, together with JK.

Fuck people for calling him chubby in the comments. I hate this obsession with his weight, but even more so I hate people sitting at home on their asses and calling this 1.73 meter tall man that weighs 62.5 kg after putting on over 4 kg to get there, chubby. Like wtf? Man is skinny. And minus those 4 kgs he was fucking too skinny. Do they want him to starve himself? Do they not remember the issues he had in the past with his weight (issues which always linger even if you are "eating healthy" as he put it)?

Ok, so at around 14:55 min. JM's asked for the first time about the rainy day fight. When watching live, I kind of thought he was evading the question, but him answering the question later on, I tend to believe that maybe he just misunderstood the question at that point.

JM talks about sleep and R.E.M and how when you dream your mind is active and you don't really get deep sleep, and watching a video about it. I find it kind of funny and coincidental - NOT - that JK seems to have said practically the same things using similar wording in his live as well.

But no, they definitely aren't spending time together.

JM tells us he went to sleep at 6 am, woke up at 12 pm, made himself some chicken breast to eat and went back to sleep. Sound familiar anyone?

Well, it is hard to break a sleeping pattern that has been with you for years and years. We all know of JM and JK's late night/early morning escapades. All night buddies that they are.

Rainy day fight, JM's version:

So this time around JM understands the comment asking about the rainy day fight and gives us his version of it.

Of course we got JM's JK smile.

He does tell us he's giving us an edited version of it. JK, on the other hand, edited without telling us, lol. Both said a lot about the what happened before and after, but magically didn't mention exactly what was said at the moment by JK to anger JM so so much for him to react the way he did.

Anyway, we got is the story from JM's pov. And yes, there are some differences, but I wouldn't expect otherwise. 2 people, 2 povs. No 2 stories would ever be exactly the same.

The main discrepancy I found was the timeline. JK's being when they were trainees, and JM's all over the place but still later on (2014-15). Idk, I'm gonna side with JK on this one, lol. Like I mentioned in the post about JK's live, I feel like this fight was way more impactful for JK than it was for JM. And as such it's more etched on his brain than it is for JM.

Something I found interesting was how each of them was keen to take responsibility for the fight. JK blaming himself for how he behaved and what he said, and JM the same.

What I also found interesting and very much not surprising is how this fandom roles. JK taking blame for the fight = "oh poor baby bunny JK, how big of him to take the blame"; JM taking blame fir the fight = "omg, how mean is JM picking on baby bunny JK, being so mean to him, ugh we hate JM."

Did I mention how there are some parts of this fandom that I absolutely despise?

One thing they both corroborated was the state of JK's eyes the morning after, lol.

Both JM and JK were happy giggly while telling the story.

A fight that definitley left it's mark of them both but also something to reminisce back on fondly.

Something else we learnt from JM's live was that he most definitely watched JK's live. He watched JK tell us about the rainy day fight and he also found JK's impersonation of G-Dragon very funny.

What I do know is JM chose to answer that comment but a. unlike the other comments that had to do with JK which he did answer, this one answer didn't come with a JK or jungkookie attached to it. It was short and he was done with it, and b. the way he looked away from the camera while saying it and repeating it once before just changing the subject was just so sus and felt like overcompensating.

Of course there are those that jumped at it like the dead feeders that they are. This must mean that they haven't seen each other. That JM isn't important to JK, etc. etc.

Funny how JM and JK don't see each other but are eating the same things for lunch, like Chicken breast and rice… or how they aren't seeing each other but JM somehow, magically, adjusted JK's mood lamp at JK's place…telepathy and telekinesis I guess. Oh, and did we discuss the sleeping patterns yet or the fact that they both happened to bring up the science mambo jumbo about sleep and dreams, almost word for word? But nope. They definitley aren't seeing each other and definitley aren't close. Also, for someone that is distanced they sure seem to be keeping up with each others lives. JM must be really bored to be sitting down and watching JK's long ass lives.

Let's Talk About Manifesting

First off, I wanna go off by saying I've been manifesting since 4 years ago when everyone was in pandemic, I was having fun - learning about spirituality, witchcraft, reading, and learning about the universe.

New weird, hilarious, brain rotting ideas freshly come from my stress brain.

The reason why Gale has abs, but he only got 8 in strength ability scores, is because while he was in his home in waterdeep, every book he owned is 100 kg above. But he's now wearing some things that hold back his true power, that's why he only got 8 in str.

This is because Tara wants him to be able to protect himself. Although he's a prodigy of magic, there're still some danger that magic couldn't deal with. So she trained Gale to improve his strength.

When Gale needs to read books, she will add weight to it. Besides his magic studying schedule, he also has a strength training schedule every day, which was set up by Tara. Moreover, Tara also asked him to hide his true power in strength, to fool the enemy that he's only good at magic. He's clothes, shoes, underwear, staff......all of them are 100kg heavier while equipped on Gale. Maybe there're some magical invisible iron bricks or something inside.

When his magic is useless in the most crisis moment, he'll release all those weights and reveal his true power to finish the enemy.

you've talked about the au characters' strenght combat-wise, but how about their physical strenght? like, what's the heaviest thing they could lift from the floor

I think it would help to mention their sizes again. They're not insect sized, I mentioned before that FPK is around the height of a raccoon standing up, but that includes the horns, so he is generally quite a lot smaller.

Cooked up a really quick comparison to illustrate it. It's very rough and I used size comparisons I found online as reference so I can't 100% verify that the raccoon silhouette sizes are accurate.

As you can see, FPK is definitely smaller in mass than a raccoon, so he would also be lighter than one. I imagine he'd weigh around 6-7 kilograms, so within the weight range of an average raccoon but definitely lower on the scale. Grimm would be around 8 kg I think, Hornet would be around 4 kg, Holly between 10 and 12 kg (depending on whether they're wearing their prosthetic arm), Zote about 1.5 kg. Lewk would be around the weight and size of a 2 month old kitten, so just under a kilogram. Asta and Milo are similar in size but Milo is definitely lighter, but they would be more or less similar to a 3-4 weeks old kitten in weight, so under 400 grams.

As to how much they can can lift:

FPK's muscles are definitely in a far better condition than they used to be before hibernation. So he's pretty strong, he can run on all fours for a short distance so his arms can handle quite a lot of weight. I think using the other characters as reference would work best. He has no trouble picking up Lewk and the twins, as well as Zote. He can lift up Hornet since she's very skinny and light, and he can do so with Grimm as well, though for a very short time (Grimm's long legs would definitely make it a bit difficult).

Grimm is actually not that much bigger than him when it comes to mass, he only looks so because of his long legs, and so he's just a little bit heavier. If you compare their torsos, they're almost the same length. His arms and legs are more muscular than FPK's, so he's also a bit stronger physically (the fact that the arms are long also makes lifting things up easier). Again, no issue carrying his children or Zote, same as Hornet. He can also lift up FPK and carry him around (though the difference in weight between him and Hornet would be very noticeable), and since Holly is quite light, he can also lift them up for a bit.

Holly is, like I said, not very heavy. Similarly to Grimm, their imposing stature is all thanks to their long legs, their actual torso is proportionally small. They're a bit heavier than Grimm, though a lot of it is their big head and the metal scrap arm, which adds additional weight. But unlike him, they're not very strong, due to the damage they received while infected. They can pick up anyone with no problem right until it gets to FPK. They are able to carry him, but his weight would strain their weakened muscles so they would struggle a bit. And I don't think they can lift up Grimm.

Hornet is also not particularly strong physically, she definitely relies more on agility, but unlike Holly her muscles are in top shape so she wouldn't struggle as much as they do. She can carry Lewk, the twins and Zote without trouble, and she can even lift up FPK if she uses the right technique. But I don't think she would be able to do so with Grimm.

Lewk is still very young and small so he can only carry his little siblings, and the twins wouldn't be able to carry anyone.

This is already very long but I hope the answer was satisfying. I definitely got a little carried away with the height comparison and the weights, but I just really like talking about this kind of stuff.

2002 JAPAN GT CHAMPIONSHIP Round 4 SEPANG (MALAYSIA) - Round 8 SUZUKA

The Skyline GT-R, which competes in the GT500 class of the All Japan GT Championship, was forced into the toughest battle ever in the 2002 season. In order to switch the engine from the RB26DETT to the VQ30DETT midway through the season, we had to compete with the conventional improved 2001 model car for the first half, and simultaneously develop the engine and chassis for the 2002 model car in the second half.

Looking back at each race from the middle of the series, Round 4, the last race for the RB26DETT, was held in Sepang, Malaysia, where the championship was held for the first time. At one point, three GT-Rs were in the top six, showing a development befitting a farewell race, but the Castrol Pit Work GT-R (Masami Kageyama/Eric Comas), who was aiming for the win, was following behind. An unfortunate retirement due to a rear-end collision. Calsonics Skyline (Kazuyoshi Hoshino/Tetsuya Tanaka) was also sidelined due to brake trouble and was the only survivor.

Xanavi Nismo GT-R (Satoshi Motoyama/Michael Krumm) finished in 4th place.

In the following 5th round at Fuji, all three Skyline GT-Rs were equipped with the 02 version of the VQ engine. Here the Xanavi Nismo GT-R was in a good position in 3rd place in qualifying, and moved up one position in the final to take 2nd place on the podium. The power of the VQ engine was already demonstrated.

In Round 6 at Motegi, all three cars missed the timing of their qualifying attacks, and despite being in a difficult position, they were unable to achieve the results they had hoped for in the final. Furthermore, Hoshino, who was participating in the Calsonic Skyline, suddenly announced his retirement before this race. Benoît Treluyer, the 2001 Japanese F3 champion, was appointed in his place.

In the 7th race at MINE, the Xanavi nismo GT-R made a strong chase from its qualifying position of 10th and finished in 2nd place. Skyline gives a feeling of definite maturity.

The GT-R still had a chance of winning the championship heading into the final race.

However, in the final race at Suzuka, both the Xanavi Nismo GT-R and Calsonic GT-R suffered from trouble, leaving the Castrol Nismo GT-R in 8th place, the highest placed Skyline GT-R. As a result, the team ranking for the 2002 series was Nismo in 7th place and Impul in 12th place. In the drivers' ranking, Motoyama/Krumm finished in 7th place.

In the GT300 class, Unisia Jecs Silvia (Tetsuya Yamano/Masataka Yanagita) started by winning the third round at SUGO, steadily gaining points and continuing to fight for the championship until the final round. BIOGRAPHY

Born in Fort Worth, Texas. His family are mainly veterinarians, on the other hand a cousin is an economist and the other one is a photographer. As a kid, he grew up surrounded by animals and ended up loving almost any kind of animals, to his parents delight.

Elliot thought of being a veterinarian as well, but during his school life he discovered that he is amazing with the math and the physics. For many years he investigated about some branches of engineering, and found about the combat engineers, which called his attention. He talked with his parents, who were worried about him, but asked to take a year or two to think about it.

A year and half later, he enlisted into the Army and engineers school, and he studied until he almost fainted as he was on basic training. As he finished his training and title as engineer, it was known he was the best on his class, which helped him at the moment to be accepted on the special forces. From then on, he became arrogant, mostly because all of his superiors were amazed with him and praised his abilities insted of his co-workers'.

During his deployments, he perfected his tecnique and his speed on the field, which only boosted his ego. When he was on a deployment on a mountain range, he met Luke as a Sergeant, who at first was also reading his file in awe, but they lost contact after two missions more. And when the rumors about the new team were flying around, he knew they would look for him, considering the pattern.

And he was right, but he got slightly offended that the Captain sended the Sergeant and the Corporal instead of come herself. But when the reunion started, he felt in danger for a second, the Corporal was ready to beat the shit out of him and the Sergeant looked at him with something near to hate. Soon he went to Black Tomb and the day the Captain arrived again, he shivered and surprised to see how Michaelis was now the Lieutenant of the team.

And Luke was dissapointed...

Elliot spoke with Alicia and felt so little, like never before, and also he walked outside that office feeling regret for his own comments. Soon Luke walk to him, this time without a trace of the awe of before, just telling him one think with a harsh voice. Nowadays, he thanks that he said that during his first time there, but at the moment it affected him.

His combat style is defensive, but will take a turn to the offensive if it's needed. His first choice weapon is also a Bowie knife. -His main hobby is solve puzzles, any kind of puzzle he can get, he'll try to solve it. Inside his room has a collection and everyone always gift him a new one on his birthday.

-Most part of the time he's inside the hangars, so he interacts more with Luke and Edward, also with Francis because the younger one is the one who keep him down to earth.

-He also doesn't have a car, and everyone prays for him to stay like that. Elliot...likes a bit to much Gran Turismo, and it could be great if only he knew how to drive as a sane person. Also Elijah lent him his Camaro once and he almost crashed it down...since then he's banned from using any civilian car out the base, except on special ocations.

-More than once, Alicia has seen him let some stray cats inside the base, but she never said anything. Mostly because she also got attached to them and is thinking to adopt one (and call it gun powder)

-His callsign speaks for itself, and it wasn't something that his peers gave him to joke or in a good mood. On the contrary, it was a way to almost insult him because of his attitude. But Elliot took it anyway because it fits him.

In the words of Agent Stone, he's back. HE'S BAAAAAAAAACK!!

After losing the Undisputed title at WrestleMania 40 and being MIA since then, the Original Tribal Chief makes his grand return at SummerSlam! And he even came out with the WM40 version of his theme, which might be better than the original, but more on that in a little bit. I've tried making a Pokemon based on Roman Reigns a couple of times in the past… with awful results. This time around, however, I think I can say with full confidence that this is my Tribal Chief as a Pokemon. And it's my first pseudo-legendary too!

So the main thing that inspire me to make this kind is the first place is WM40 version of "Head of the Table" - officially named "I Am Greatness". It has a sort of antihero/last-minute hero vibe to me. Like just when all hope seems lost, this guy shows up. He may not be a typical hero, but damn it, he's here to help. As you can see, the entire line is based on a dog. I wasn't looking at any particular breed of dog, but Negascruff does give off husky energy, while Luponic is basically a grey wolf. However, they're not just regular dogs. They're Hainus, winged dogs from Japanese mythology. Just as menacing to humans as wolves, but are capable of becoming loyal and loving pets. The entire line also references stock superheroes with the mask-like pattern around the eyes, while the multiple stripes along their right eyes is a clear nod to Roman's tattoos. And of course, they all share the same clipped ear because nothing screams Fighting-type like scars and clipped ears.

But now let's go over each Pokemon one by one. Negascruff is based on the "Big Dog" run when the WWE was trying SO DESPERATELY to push Roman as the big face of the company and the fans weren't having it. And that's putting it lightly, just as lightly as the dex entries explain. Hell, even the name is kinda messed up. Combining "scruff" with "nega" (denoting the negative counterpart of a unit of measurement) and "megastar", it's pretty much saying he's not a star, but he's trying so hard to convince everyone that he is. And you know what's funny? I gave Negascruff blue eyes, almost forgetting that Roman wore blue contacts at the time, which is something I'm sure a lot of us will never understand.

Now things get a little scary once the Golden Belt gets involved. As you can probably tell, the Golden Band is the Pokemon version of the Undisputed title with some mild corruptive properties. Remember the Smackdown after Roman faced Jey Uso in an "I Quit" Match at Hell in a Cell 2020 and Jey was like "This title got you trippin', Uce!"? That's what I had in mind when crafting up the Golden Belt. I also thought of the same episode when Roman told Jey to "fall in line", which sounds pretty similar to the name "Fallenine". Speaking of Fallenine, it's based on Roman's "Tribal Chief" run with those red diamonds representing the Ula Fala Roman wore at the PLEs. It also takes on a more demon-like appearance with its red eyes, bat-like wings, and its ears turning into horns. The reason for that is to allude to the concept of "fallen angels". Negascruff was just a lonely and traumatized little guy trying to prove himself, but the world just shutting him down and like one of the dex entries states, he just snapped. You can only push good people so far before they finally decide to push back.

And finally, we have Luponic, which is probably my favorite of the trio. However, this is when the source of inspiration gets a little personal. Luponic is based on Roman's "Original Tribal Chief" run… which barely even started, but it's more based on how I think this version of Babyface Roman would act. I don't think he's gonna be a straightforward babyface. I think he's gonna be more of an antihero of sorts. He's still gonna be a menace, but it's just to the bad guys now. And that's exactly what Luponic is: a hero whose morality lies somewhere in the middle, but still doing some good. Its design references this even further by combining the colors of the good-natured Negascruff and the absolute menace Fallenine, as well as fusing their wings. After all, things aren't always black and white.

And now to decide what to give Luponic - a Mega Evolution or a Gigantamax form?

Romano is a respectful short king at 165 cm/5’5” next to Alfred’s 188 cm/6’2”. Poor Roma is also in an entirely different weight class; 55 kg compared to 102 kg.

This is 100% a Zoomer BF & Boomer BF situation. Alfred had to teach Romano how to use Zoom and FaceTime and always uses strange magic Gen Z words that leave Romano bewildered. Alfred’s “she eb on my nezer til I Scrooge” to Romano’s “look at this funny minion meme I found” (it’s 8 years outdated).

Romano loves paired dances and Alfred has a fair bit of energy. They adore swing dance and jive! When determined they’ll clear the room to listen to their old records and swing.

Related to this, they love to dance together in general and sing. They’ve made a playlist for doing their home chores when together and it’s chock full of songs both know by heart; both in English and Italian. And the amount of dancing they do to distract themselves? Immense. We’re talking a disco outbreak in the hall, Alfred starting to do the hand jive and Romano joining. They have fun.

They love watching westerns together. And I do mean love. We call Romerica “Spaghetti Western” in this house! And we’re not saying Romano has a cowboy kink, but he’s got a cowboy kink. Will find any excuse to get Alfred into some version of western wear (he’s usually pretty willing, it’s really not that hard).

Alfred lets Romano dress him up like a Ken Doll. He's just happy to be spending time with Roma, who, let's be real, has a much better fashion sense. Romano also has a history of patching up Alfred's clothes and uniforms, sometimes hiding hidden stitched hearts on the former.

They cook for each other a lot. The way to both their hearts are through their stomachs and it’s very obvious at times. Food driven to the core.

“Your cooking is going to make me fat.” Romano complains. “Y’know you don’t have to eat it if you don’t want to.” Alfred replies. Romano scrunches his nose, “Don’t tell me what to do.” He then takes another bite.

When Romano first arrived in New York, he knew very little English. On the other hand, Alfred knew very little Italian, if any. Communication was a very glaring issue in the beginning. They figured out that they both knew Spanish and could communicate that way until they taught each other more of their respective languages.

We’re not calling Alfred Romano’s sugar daddy, but hey, it doesn’t hurt when your beefcake boyfriend has a shiny credit card and makes a wonderful bag carrier :shrugs:

Romano’s common household weapons: the wooden spoon (the only actual weapon), the rolling pin (threat only), a comically large frying pan (threat only unless they’re getting up to Tom & Jerry shenanigans), and a comically long pizza paddle (for long range ass-smacking). However, Alfred has started learning to declaw the rolling pin threats by responding with “That’s so hot,” or some equivalent. Romano is having to rethink some of his battle plans.

Both are serial cuddlers when they’re together, but Romano is more confident in bolder displays of PDA and touchier overall. A hand on Alfred’s back or waist as he passes by, a kiss to the shoulder. Alfred, taking advantage of his height, loves hugging Romano from behind and resting his chin on Romano’s head.

Alfred loves to carry Romano and pick him up. Romano complains but never actually means it. In fact, he loves it but is simply a stubborn fool.

Alfred has beef with Romano’s pet rooster, Ugo. Ugo is the only force that could make Alfred F. Jones, the United States of America, run for his life. Fear the peck!

Romano is the bedtime enforcer in this relationship. Alfred’s sleep schedule is pretty shit and Romano loves his sleep (and his cuddles). When they visit each other, he often has to physically drag Alfred to bed. They also nap together, though often it’s just Romano that ends up sleeping.

Alfred is constantly fascinated with Romano’s stories from childhood or at least the Nation equivalent of such. The number of things Romano and Veneziano can remember from times far before Alfred or frequent guest Ludwig ever existed blows his mind. He’s always asking for more. It’s both his natural wonder and curiosity, but also the archaeologist in him.

Alfred F. “Hey Romano babe can I bench press you? I wanna hold you but I gotta get my workout in.” Jones. Does squats with Romano on his back. Will be doing sit-ups with Romano sitting on him so he can give him smooches on the up. Romano complains about the sweat but doesn’t actually make any moves to get up or leave.

Both are romantics in their own way, but in this dynamic, Romano is the one who typically initiates the moment. Alfred is usually the one who ruins the moment with a joke but in the most affectionate way possible. He’s embarrassing, but he’s Romano’s.

Alfred and Ludwig have made their own joint study of the way Romano and Veneziano use their hands when they speak. I wish I had their notes.

Over time they’ve learned each other’s old full names and use them. Not that they have much of an effect, it’s more a silly than anything. But it is still a jumpscare. Alfred Fly-from-Fornication Kirkland versus Publius Romilius Romanus Regillus. Who wins?

If they encounter some bullshit together in public, Romano is the “I’m going to kick your ass.” Alfred is the “And I’m about to hand him the chair.” That, or he’s picking Romano up and carrying him away.

Are mini and standard dachshunds the same size as puppies and the minis just stop growing sooner, or can you tell if a dachshund is standard or mini by the time they’re 8 weeks? Also do you have any pictures of Kermit next to a standard? Because my perception of dachshunds is completely based off Kermit and a celebrity’s dog.

So in the US, minis are classified as 11 pounds and under, and can get as small as 6 pounds (2.7 to 5 kg). A standard is 15 pounds or over, and I've seen dogs get up to 35 pounds (6.8 to 15.8 kg). Dogs that fall between this size, like Kermit, are playfully called "tweenies". Because Kermit is a miniature by breeding and is not the size of a standard, I show him as a mini.

(Under FCI rules, dachshunds have three size varieties. Rabbit dachshunds have a chest circumferences of 30 cm, minis have a circumference of 30 to 35 cm, and standards have a circumference of 35 cm. Standards can be up to 9 kg (19 pounds), and weights are not provided for the other sizes in the written standard.)

When I say that Kermit is a mini by breeding, I mean that minis and standards are not, to my knowledge, bred to each other regularly, if at all. They look different-- different conformation, different shoulder set, the keel tends to be more exaggerated in standards, etc. They have different temperaments. Standards look like big dogs and minis look like small dogs. Not sure if I'm making sense; you know how if you look at a photo of a schipperke, it looks like a small dog? But a photo of a husky looks like a big dog, even though they're both pointy and fluffy? Standard dachshunds are not small dogs, they just have short legs.

I haven't been around infant standards, but my assumption would be that since they are bigger dogs, they are bigger puppies. Infant Kermit was so small he wore a hair tie as his puppy collar.

Kermit's uncle Eli is also a mini by breeding, but by size he is a standard, since I believe he is about 16 pounds (7 kg). Their breeder told me that it was immediately obvious that Eli was going to be Large because he was noticeably bigger than his siblings, who all ended up as minis (under 11 pounds/5 kg) or tweenies. Eli still has the proportions and conformation of a mini, and he is very small compared to other standards, but by weight he is a standard. He is shown as a standard. And he looks very distinct when in the ring with other standards.

I don't have a photo of Kermit with a standard, but you should be able to google dog show photos of minis and standards and see their size differences when compared to their people.

their mother likes to say that their eyes are so blue because they spent so much time staring up at the sky ⸻ as though beliar’s sheer adoration sucked some of the azure above into their little face, bug eyes they would later grow into. a silly story meant to make them more likable, they suspect. but not wholly incorrect. it’s true that their small fingers reached ever upward, trying to snatch their father and melusine from the sky. in a sense, beliar had. a difficult birth that left their mother bedridden for half a year, beliar’s childhood was marked with promises that they held no blame in viné losing the use of her legs, or in seir’s early retirement as a dragon rider to care for his wife and only child. beliar was a blessing to them both. yet, as with most things oft repeated before a child, both of these things stuck: beliar irreparably harmed their mother by being born, but they were a special child deserving of endless love. add onto that the lamentations that seir stormbreaker should have become commander ⸻ would have, if he had chosen career over family ⸻ and is it any wonder that beliar’s path was already decided for them ?

so much of it is based on chance, on the mercurial nature of a dragon. they are not tamers so much as they are partners, seir reminds his child. pets to the dragons, even. ( a poor jest that makes beliar roll their eyes ). but if they truly wish to become a rider, then of course, their father will help them. a horse is a poor substitute for a majestic beast of flight, but the maneuvers and saddle come close enough. seir warns beliar not to have their sights set on melusine; the comet in cobalt is notoriously fickle, and another dragon might suit them better yet. beliar nods and agrees, as is expected of them, but they all know the truth. all that’s locked away and hidden in their chest is the belief that this will be a redemption of some sort. if seir lost out on becoming the greatest dragon rider in history for them, then they will repay the favor by doing what he could not. waiting to reach the age of majority is agony, but beliar finds it all worth it as soon as melusine shakes the earth with her landing, meets eyes as blue as her scales, and sees something in them that she once saw in their father so many years ago.

beliar is not so naïve as to believe pedigree alone is enough to grant them authority. they’re not a royal, after all. ( no, they’re not bitter. why do you ask ? ) this indignity mediocrity is rationalized as the understanding that one simply cannot hoard greatness. and the acknowledgment that they’re not much of a team player; surely that plays some part in this too. to those even mildly acquainted with dragon and rider, it seems almost a miracle that two gigantic egos can not only coexist but cooperate with each other. yet, perhaps, this symbiosis occurs precisely because they are the same level of arrogant ⸻ the utter certainty in their respective skills and superiority means that no one else could forge as strong a connection as they have with each other. whatever the case, beliar and melusine function on the belief that they were made for more than this. so when refugees crying of smoke and ruin come pouring into lyris, it feels like destiny is calling. while it may seem callous of one sworn to defend, this does not mean that they care more for glory over lives saved. all it portends is that such conceit must be met by a swift and calamitous fall.
